I would highly recommend this trip! We were picked up (on time) from our guest house and taken to the border (Zambia/Botswana) our driver told us exactly what to expect and where to go. as we're canadian we didn't have to pay for a visa, but i understand that some nationalities do. our driver passed us off to our guide. one of the downsides was having to wait around for 45 mins. to meet up with others who were joining the trip. Our guide was great and tried to find the best locations for the animals. we saw tons of impala, elephants and giraffe, as well as a few lions, water buck, baboons, hippos and tons of bird life. Our driver would try and get as as close to the animals as he could without endangering them or us. After 3 hours we had a pit stop for water/soft drinks and the "bush toilet". We were then taken to a hotel for our buffet lunch. the lunch was rather chaotic as there were many groups there. the wait staff weren't very friendly. you are charged for all drinks (including water) but the food is included in the trip cost. the food was ok. We had about 35 mins to eat and then were taken down to a small speed boat. our driver was amazing at getting us REALLY close to the animals and was knowledgable about most of the wildlife. Just a warning you may get a little wet from spray etc. We saw way more animals from the boat and got to watch several elephant herds cross the river. Amazing day!

This was the most fantastic experience. We saw lions close up! The very unusual sighting of a Marshal Eagel eating his prey and THEN an African Wild cat disturbed him and went off with his prey. We were very fortunate
Top notch! Well organized- lots included!
Thank you for the amazing experiences! We had a wonderful time on all the tours and activities you arranged for us. We have fallen in love with this beautiful continent and hope to return many more times in the future. Your drivers were friendly, knowledgeable, and highly professional, which made our experience even more enjoyable. Thank you again for a memorable experience. We’ll see you soon.
The organisation of the day was complex but smooth, driver from hotel to Botswana border, quick nip to Zimbabwe border to get other guests, then into the game drive vehicle. Quite a climb in and out of the vehicle (no steps or ladder). 3 hr drive in Chobe, only toilet stop was in the bush. Then a 15 min drive to lunch which was at a lovely hotel but was busy, chaotic and the low light of the trip. Afternoon was a trip on the river in a lovely small boat, albeit about 6 others took the same route.
Our first time to Africa, and our first safari. It is worth every penny! Our driver to and from our hotel to the border was so kind, and informative... guiding us through the border process. Our land safari guide/driver was Simon. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Snacks had vegan options as well as the lunch buffet. Yay!!! Our river guide was also quite knowledgeable and fun! If you've never been on a safari, this is the best one for first timers, and those who've been before.
Such a fantastic experience! The Cherish team picked us up from the Avani resort in a very nice bus. They guided us through the international customs process. We felt very informed and safe. We had a large group of 20 people and each person loved it! They were clear on the cost of the safari and we could not have been more pleased with all we experienced for the price! We went on both land and water adventures and they were ahhhhmazing! We were able to relax when we were on the river boat and enjoy the scenery. You will not get a better safari! We stayed in Livingstone for two days. And Cherish Travel and Tours really packed a lot into those 48 hours! We saw Victoria Falls, the Chobe National Park, we walked with the Rhino's and even saw a Cheetah! It was a trip I will never forget! Whether you are taking a large group or on a family vacation. Cherish Travel and Tours are trustworthy.
The experience is worth the money and time , cherish adventure are the best at everything, I will forever choose them
Great full day of animal sightings! The game drive with sooooo many elephants was spot on. And after having done a couple different truck safari’s the boat cruise was so unique and different. Saw elephants on the shore, hippos and crocs! Love the smaller boat as well. With so many moving parts and locations we were impressed with our guides/hosts keeping track of us and guiding us where we needed to be.
I had an absolutely incredible experience on the Chobe Day Trip and cannot speak highly enough of Cherish Travel. The guides were so insightful, helpful, and kind and we were fortunate enough to see so many animals on both our game drive and the boat tour. While I think we were especially lucky to see all the animals we did (a whole pride of lions, countless elephants, a leopard, hippos, giraffes, crocodiles and many more), I think this experience is would be worth every penny, even if we saw half of what we did. They also kindly arranged a private tour for me the following day of the Rhino Walk and Victoria Falls which were also wonderful. Special shoutout to Mwangelwa who was an excellent conversationalist on our drive to the border.
Great Safary Half by Jeep half by Boat on the Chobe River. Was nice experience. Different from normal safary Lounge was at veri nice 5 stars hotel.
Lovely team that assisted us from start to finish. The game drive with Tshepy was absolutely fantastic, she is amazing! We saw lots of animals and had plenty of time to photograph them and enjoy being in the park. She was a brilliant game driver and guide. Hotel pick up and drop off included. Our driver Derrick was very helpful getting us across the border from Zambia into Botswana which made the whole process easy. Lunch was lovely and there were drinks available throughout the day. The afternoon ended with a boat trip on the Chobe river. Our guide France was very knowledgeable and was able to get us close to the animals but still kept a safe and respectful distance. This is a wonderfully relaxing activity because you are guided from start to finish so would highly recommend doing this in between any fast paced activities that you might also have booked.
What an amazing day trip to Chobe from Livingstone. Smooth pickup from and dropoff at Livingstone as well as super easy immigration in both Zambia and Botswana both ways. And Chobe is seriously indescribable. Literally saw over 500 elephants, a lion, some wild dogs, herds of buffaloes, many an impala, and tons more of wildlife. Had a game drive in the morning and a boat ride in the afternoon. Getting goosebumps writing this review. A serious must do for those into wildlife safaris
It was great experience. The tour guides were knowledgeable and very helpful with navigating the steps along the way. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an awesome experience.
All the guides were fantastic - patient, knowledgable, friendly and KEEN to make sure we saw as much as possible. And we saw alot! On the game drive, elephants, giraffe, impala, hippo, and even a rare and close-up glimose at a lioness. Spectacular! Lunch was plentiful and tasty in very comfy surrounds! And then the river cruise brought MORE wildlife - all kinds of birds, buffalo, crocs and monkeys, but for me, the hippos stole the show! A totally fulfilling day! You gotta do this!
We booked the Chobe day trip for a Nov 2024 tour. We were picked up promptly at 7 am by our driver, from our hotel in Zambia and driven to Botswana. Our driver was very pleasant and provided us info along the route. It was a great ride. In Botswana we started with the Chobe river tour…our guide, I forgot his name, was very knowledgeable about the river, the area, the animals. He even helped some guests find the birds we saw on the riverbank in their bird book. He was gracious, gave great instructions , and took very good care of all the passengers, maneuvering the boat so we can get a good look and capture our pics, The river cruise very scenic. We saw many animals and birds. Bring binoculars even though we saw the well enough without. We had lunch and it was a great selection buffet. We then went onto the safari part of the tour and saw all kind of animals, including elephants, giraffes and lions. Highl, highly recommend. I would do this tour again and stay overnight. Just lovely. I was glad the tour started with the river tour then the safari. The guides and drivers were very hospitable. The food at lunch, delicious What could have been done better? Well, I would do the day again without question. But I would say even though we knew what the tour entailed, a run down of the day’s activities timeline at the beginning would be helpful. Also an opportunity to buy souvenirs and take pic at the lunch stop.
I had a great experience with the chobe safari day trip. The tour guides were extremely knowledgeable and provided a great safari experience. Many animals were seen when we went. As someone who is new to international travel, the drivers were extremely helpful when crossing the Botswana border from Zambia and made the whole experience stress free
This is a great day trip to do from Livingstone/Victoria Falls, as you will see much more wildlife than in the national parks in the immediate vicinity of the falls. My driver picked me up promptly at 7 am and helped me quickly get through the Botswana border. Then I got into the car of the Botswanan guide with the rest of those going on the trip. We were very lucky and saw all the animals we expected to see - including a leopard. Would recommend 100%.
This was a great full day trip. We came over by bus from Zambia, and then crossed into Namibia and Chobe National Park. We spent the first half of the day on the water and then had lunch at the park restaurant, and then went out on a Safari where we got a lot of time seeing wildlife up close. It was pretty uncrowded when we were there so we got to stop and watch the surroundings and just take it in. All in all a very good trip with excellent guides.
It was a well organised tour which packed a lot into one day. The lunch was very good. It would have helped if the Provider had responded to calls and messages to confirm the pickup. As it was, the pickup was fine
The trip was well organized, especially considering the many handovers you have. Everyone was there on time to pick us up for the next part. All guides and drivers were very friendly and well-informed. The Safari itself was a great experience. We've seen all the expected animals in both parts, by car and by boat. We're impressed about how they respected the animals on one side and yet managed to come closer to them as in any other Safari we did. One hint to the company. It should be mentioned that you need a multiple-entry visa for Zambia, or you have to pay for another visa when coming back. Otherwise we just can recommend the trip as well as the tour operator.
Was the most amazing experience doing this trip in botswana, the trip was perfect fr start ro finish, picks up were on time the guides were very professional and very kind, if anyone wants to do this trip definitely book with this travel company
Everything was well coordinated and well taken care of. As a solo female traveler I felt totally safe and had such a great time. Would definitely do again!
We were unlucky to have in our group a family with a small child, who was not interested in the safari and shouted or cried the whole time. She scared the animals several times and her parents did little to control her. The tour should advertise adults only, otherwise it may spoil the experience for everyone else. Also, the guide driver in the land part looked bored and in a rush all the time, in a stark contrast with the guide who was leading the boat trip, who was excellent! We have seen a lot of animals, especially on the water drive, which was truly fulfilling (except for the cries from the little girl)
Excellent service from Livingston into Botswana... the border crossing was fast & very efficient. No lines. The boat ride was wonderful with up from viewing of the grazing herds and especially those animals that are in and out of the water. Hippos, lizards, lots of crocodiles, elephants, and Buffalo. The land cruisers were open seating. It is hot in October but dry.
The boat tour around Lake Chobe was great. We got so close to some of the animals that we could have reached out and touched them.
Very well organised. Easy contact upfront by email with Emmanuel from Cherish Travel. I was picked-up from my hotel at 7 AM sharp, and we then drove to the border with Botswana (1,5 hour drive) where the driver helped with getting through customs (which is very easy!). Then I met my local Botswana tour guide with whom we visited - I was in a group that I met at the border of 6 more tourists - the Chobe national park. Started with a 3-hour River Safari, then a very nice lunch and in the afternoon an impressive 3-hr Game Drive. At 4:30 pm we were back at the border where my driver from Cherish Travel was waiting for me, and at 6 PM sharp we were back at my hotel in Livingstone. Well organised, nice people, everything perfect.
Everything was just amazing and felt like a luxury trip. My wonderful driver Mwangeluia picked me up from the hotel at exactly at 7 in the morning and took me back at 6pm. Having some mobility problems was not a problem as I got all the help I needed during the day. During the game drive we saw all the big animals very closely. Our lunch spot was really beautiful resort and boat cruise was amazing as well. It was one of the best days of my life!
The boat cruise was really nice! The game drive was also good. Got to see both elephants, hippos and a lion a long with other animals. The whole day was planned really well!
It was fun and we saw quite a few animals (no big cats though). Don't expect a full day though. You get about two hours on the river and about 2 hours in a jeep. The rest is waiting around. Still very good.
Pickup and transport was smooth and timely, service excellent, friendly staff, good communication and an overall wonderful experience.
While not many animals were seen due to the weather and season, it was still a great experience and saw a fair amount of animals. Very well organized throughout and everyone was super friendly and knowledgeable.
I highly recommend the Chobe Safari Day Trip experience! Emmanuel picked me up directly from my hotel and provided such interesting and engaging local cultural insight during the hour-long drive to the border. He is very knowledgeable about the region and easy to communicate with. Everything was arranged with the full day experience including border crossings, transport to the boat, lunch, game drive, and then transport back to the border. We saw so many incredible sites on the boat tour and the game drive including over 100 elephants! We even got to see some elephants crossing the river! The guides shared interesting information about the animals and the region including the history of the island in the Chobe River. Emmanuel dropped me back at my hotel about 6pm after a fabulous day in Chobe, Botswana.
The trip was amazing! It's a beautiful national park. We saw so much wildlife: lions, elephants, buffalo's, giraffes! Everything was really good organized and the lunch was great too! Thank you Emmanuel, Timan and mister Bee for a wonderful experience!
Emmanuel was absolutely amazing! He went above & beyond for our team in April 2022. Everything was excellent & seamless! He made sure we were able to see everything that we wanted in a limited amount of time. He provided airport transportation as well. Always punctual & with a great smile! We highly recommend him anytime we are in Livingstone!
Emmanuel always provides outstanding service for our visiting groups!! Highly recommend to anyone!!!
This trip was amazing! Emmanuel is such a kind guy and helped me with all the arrangements and questions I had. The drive to Botswana went very smooth and both the boat cruise as the game drive were so nice! And the place we had lunch at was gorgeous, food was so good! Recommend this trip to anybody who wants to see wildlife and have a great time doing it:)
We cannot recommend this trip or Cherish Travel enough . The organisation and communication was superb right from booking and throughout the day . Emmanuel was an absolute pleasure to deal with . The trip itself was more than we could have hoped for . Seeing a herd of elephant playing in the river was such an incredible sight . We saw plenty of other wildlife and the day will definitely go down as one of the best we have experienced ! Many thanks Emmanuel and team !
Our day trip wish Cherish Travel and Tours was absolutely amazing! Everyone we dealt with at the travel company were incredible. We ended up arranging airport pick up with them as well because they were so lovely. The Chobe day trip was an incredible experience. We got to see so much from driving through Livingstone to crossing the border to taking the boat and game drive through the park. We were a small group, so it was great to do things at our own pace. I would highly recommend this trip and the other services Cherish offers.
It was a pleasure to have found Cherish Tours and Travel. On time and friendly staff. Recommend to anyone in need of transfer or car hire
One never knows what to expect when travelling alone, and I try to not approach the experience with trepidation. I am delighted that I chose to place my confidence in Cherish Travel & Tours. To begin, until you have embarked on a Chobe visit, you cannot appreciate the extraordinary amount of advance coordination Cherish undertakes to make this a success, from local transportation to each transfer along the way (including a border crossing with a "tires and feet" decontamination!). Emmanuel explained the process and each transition was accompanied by an introduction, to keep me at ease. (The usd$50 KAZA visa obtained from the airport's diplomatic immigration stand speeds border crossings and avoids extra fees.) All other fees were paid on my behalf by Cherish. The timing of the trip has been perfect--as the heat and dry weather of this season draws the animals to the water's edge. This means they aren't hiding as they tend to do when all is lush! They were virtually lining the roadway and river banks throughout the park, en route to or from drinking water (or, for some, mud baths!) Both the cruise and land portions of the day were filled with an array of animals--the big five (minus leopard but plus giraffe!) and dozens of others. The mid-day meal was a buffet offered at a five-Star Chobe hotel that offers its marina for the river cruises. It was complete, soup to nuts, varied, fresh, and delicious! Emmanuel gave me information about local history and geography, and met every obligation he made, with highest respect. I have added Cherish to my address book and will refer friends and family to book with them with confidence. DO allow them to manage away your planning worries--from airport transfers to attractions! P. S. Dry season is great for game viewing, but less spectacular for Victoria Falls viewing. In choosing the timing of your visit, You will have to decide which is more important, or return for the second attraction as I plan to do--through Cherish! Thanks, Emmanuel, for making possible an unforgettable experience!
A great day spent! The people involved were punctual, friendly, professional and informative. Up close and personal with the animals in their natural environment without being disruptive to them. A beautiful lunch was also included. Big thanks to Emmanuel, Pako, Moyo and Solance. You guys were great
Nice experience to do specially if you like wildlife. Guides very friendly. The lunch was great with different options to choose in general really nice experience Not miss it!
Excellent coordination and daytrip On time collection and handover at borders. Friendly staff. Lunch provided very good.
Excellently organised from start to finish, great professional and friendly staff. No hitches - all smooth running and on time. No hesitation in recommending this trip.
We booked a day tour to Chobe from Livingstone, Zambia which included a game drive, lunch, and a hour river safari. We were picked up by road from Protea Hotel, transported to the border where we boarded a boat for a quick river crossing, and met our guide on the Botswana side who then drove us to the start of our safari. Everything was excellent from start to the hotel drop off in the evening. We ended up booking a airport drop off at Livingstone Airport. Thanks Emmanuel and team!
Fantastic tour! Very well organized since the departure until the drop off. Chobe river is an amazing scenery where you'll be overwhelmed with so much wildlife. First i took the river cruise, then lunch in a fantastic place and after we did the game drive. The only animals i didn't saw were the cats, but all of the other we are expecting to find, you'll find for sure! A very well spent day in Botswana!!
Pickup and border crossing to Botswana went smoothly, as did the onward journey to and then into the park. You can see many animals; the tour lasts between 3 and 4 hours. After that, there is lunch at a restaurant. You should do it if you are in Livingstone or Vic Falls.
excursion with 1 day, livingtours from Porto to Braga and Guimares simply wonderful with a MARIO guide and his driver! really recommended
A fantastic day with superflinke guides. All worked excellent.Good lunch.Absolutly worth the money and time.So lots of animals.
