So worth it! The mix of land and water safari is perfect, the food and drinks were great!! The guides are very knowledgeable and know where to go to see animals!

Awesome! Pick up from hotel was great. Border crossing went smoothly. Game drive and river cruise were unforgettable. Guides were cordial and knowledgeable which made for a perfect day. Highly recommend Cherish Travel and Tour. 5-Star experience from beginning to end. See you soon. Thanks again!
We had the best time on this trip. It was so wonderful being in a new place, and not having to worry about navigating an unfamiliar area, having safe accommodations and travel. Our guides were unbelievably professional and always on time. We highly recommend this organization for travel.
Amazing experience!! Attention to detail was second to none! Would highly recommend this company!
Cherish did a phenomenal job of arranging, planning, and ensuring the day went well. I really enjoyed all of the various guides, from drivers to rangers to the boat captain. They were all informative, professional, and highly insightful. I also appreciated that the guides help you at the border (if you need to cross for Chobe), so that it was a stress-free process. Overall, highly recommend - for groups or solos.
It was great experience, the drivers were on time and very professional especially Mwangelwa, the Cherish tour guide from Zambia to Botswana border. He is very good and treated with utmost respect. I recommend and Cherish Travel if you want to create unforgettable Chobe memories.
We took several tours during our stay in Livingstone, Zambia and this was one of our top if not the top favorite. Both our pickup driver and tour driver were incredibly kind, informative and friendly. On our water and land tour we saw so much wildlife and we didnt once feel rushed to move along. We were able to take many photos and learn about the animals. This was a top experience for us and one we still talk about today. I cant remember the tour guides name but he was great and so was our shuttle driver Juan Guillerjuan (sp). Highly recommend.
We booked all our activities through Cherish Travel for our holiday in Zambia, August 2025 which included a trip to Chobe, fishing on the Zambezi, steam train, devils pool, horse riding and Mukuni boma. The team were very professional, polite and punctual. We highly recommend them and can honestly say we couldn’t have had a better tour operator. Well done guys and please keep it up.
Great trip! Our guides were helpful. We saw so many animals, and had close up encounters with many. Both the boat tour and the game drive were exciting, and lunch was good as well. Be aware that if you don't bring water with you, you will have to pay for your beverages at lunch.
Disappointing. Three hours travel from hotel pick up to the lodge in Chobe! Very large group so always waiting around for everyone to arrive. Staff were nice but seriously, 11 hour tour of which 6 was transport and immigration. We should have insisted on booking a more private/intimate tour.
This safari was unique as we were in the safari vehicle 1/2 day with Jinx, our tour guide, enjoyed a great lunch at Mowana lodge and then on to the safari with "Barker" (or his name could have been Parker). It was awesome to see it all from the water - the crocs, hippos, birds, elephants, monitor lizards, African buffalo, etc. A fabulous afternoon to finish up a great day of animals.
We were picked up from Maramba River Lodge, Livingstone on time with an hour car journey to the border crossing. Once immigration was done and a coffee break, we were taken to Chobe National Park for the first activity. Two hours of safari drive went quickly with sightings of lions, giraffes, kudos, elephants and lots of hippos & bird life by the River. We had the delicious buffet lunch in Cresta Mowana Resort, followed by the boat trip on River Chobe. The most memorable part was the baby and mother elephants swam across the fast flowing river and the herd landed successfully on the green pasture. It was such an exciting experience with lots of Instagram worthy photos! The return journey was slightly complicated with a short ride in a bus and safari vehicle, transferred to the immigration point and then back to hotel by six o'clock. We enjoyed our day to Chobe National Park and will return to Botswana for longer trip in future.
Chobe is a nice park, but the trip was organized poorly, no communication before the tour. After the pick up and crossing the boarder, we were dropped at the lodge and not Tod what to do!!! We were wondering around and asking for help. We were waiting for a long time for somebody to take us on safari. Very short time in the park, lunch, boat.
Excellent team who went above and beyond to ensure we made the most amazing memories. A fantastic day. Saw so many elephants, lions and a leopard.
everything from start to finish was amazing. We were lucky to have some some rare game sightings. The guides were all great engaging and fun. We had pretty high expectations, but everything exceeded these. Thanks all.

My family used Cherish for many tours, Chobe day trip, Victoria Falls - Zambia and Zimbabwe, Zambia morning safari and Rhino Walk, Microlight flight, and airport transfers. We enjoyed all of trips! They are always on time, their driver's and vehicles are safe. If you need a trip into town to pickup souvenirs, snacks, or beers, they can help transport you. Easy to contact locally using WhatsApp. We really enjoyed using the trip leaders Mwangelwa and Jonas. They were really helpful and full of knowledge.
The staff of Cherish Travel were very helpful and polite. I would like to single out Mwangelwa who was fantastic. The trip to Chobe was seamless especially crossing the border to Botswana. Chobe river cruise was excellent and we saw many wildlife. The walking tour of Victoria Falls. Was the highlight of my trip. Our guides were very knowledgeable
The guides were so professional from the Botswana border ,during our game drive and at the end! Our guide made sure we had the best experience! We took a lot of pictures and made new friends from Mexico who became my clients later
Fabulous safari experience…half the day on a relaxing boat trip on the river seeing elephants, crocs and hippos in their natural environment. The other half of the adventure is a half day game drive again seeing elephants, buffalo, giraffes with a great lunch between activities
A very good experience! The guides were very professional and everything was organized well. Everything went smoothly and without delay. We were pleasantly surprised by the lunch. It was a buffet at a very nice resort. Animals we saw (cloudy and in the raining season): Lion Elefant Buffalo Impala Hippo Kudu Giraffe Eagles and other birds If this is the only national park you are visiting we would recommend a multi day trip, so you can see more of the park. We were also told that there are no rhinos in the park because of a high risk of poachers
Cherish Travel and Tours organized an absolutely fantastic Chobe Full Day Trip! The tour included a half-day game drive and a half-day river cruise, with a nice lunch break at a nearby lodge in between. The entire experience was seamless and exceeded my expectations. The river cruise was my personal favorite, offering incredible views of wildlife--especially hippos and crocodiles. The tour guide was exceptionally knowledgeable, providing fascinating insights about the animals and ecosystems we encountered. Over the course of the day, I was thrilled to see a wide variety of wildlife, including many elephants, several antelope species, a couple lions, hippos, buffalo, and even a leopard! The organization was flawless from start to finish. My driver, Mwangelwa, picked me up promptly at 7am from my hotel in Livingstone and made the border crossing and immigration process between Zambia and Botswana effortless. Mwangelwa was not only professional but also very personable, making the drive enjoyable with engaging conversation. I highly recommend Cherish Travel and Tours for their excellent planning and the unforgettable experiences they provide. This tour is a must-do for anyone seeking a one-day safari experience to Chobe from Livingstone or elsewhere in the area!
Prompt pick up (he was actually early!) And the most friendly guides all day for this trip. On the Game Drive, we saw so much - elephants, hippos, impala, giraffe ... But my fave for this one was getting up close to mother lion. Amazing. But then the boat trip was even better - all kinds of birds, crocs, monkeys and hippos but really up close this time! Again - the guides from XHERISH TRAVEL are the BEST! Very informative, friendly and relaxed. I had a great time.
A very good safari trip to Chobe including a game drive, a river cruise in a small boat and a buffet. Everything worked smoothly, we had a nice guide and we got to see lots of animals, some of the big five and more importantly some of the ugly five (marabus were great). We saw crocodiles, elephants, lions, hippos, buffalos and many other. It was our first safari ever and a very good experience!
Great trip. Wildlife, lunch, and boat tour provided a great experience for viewing wildlife. Very little time is lost crossing borders.
Got to see pretty much everything I expected to apart from the predators, but we had been warned they were more active later on. Particularly enjoyed the boat trip, you get swarmed at times by flies in the jeep and the ride can get very bumpy. Overall a worthwhile excursion.
Border crossings were easy. River cruise portion, though it was hot, allowed the close up viewing of many different animals. Lunch was good, with a nice variety. The land portion allowed viewing of elephants and lions, but it appeared as the driver was just going the motions.
Impeccable organization, the pickup was on time from the Avani Livingstone and it took us almost an hour to get to the Botswana border. The drive was very comfortable. Crossing at the border was fast, but if you have young children or teens with you, the Botswana authorities are strict and require that you bring a birth certificate, plus if you are a solo parent traveling you also have to have written official parental consent from the other parent, saying your child can enter and exit Botswana!!! They can be very sticky and deny you access, so be prepared. The game drive in the Chobe natural park was amazing, and even though we hadn’t seen many animals in the first hour (probably due to the dry season), we were lucky enough to get really close and see a full pride of Lions ( about 12) feasting on a baby elephant. After the morning game drive we had lunch at the Cresta Mowana lodge, with a big buffet and excellent very varied buffet food. They have a beautiful curio shop with gorgeous Botswana artifacts at decent prices. From there we started the afternoon cruise on the Chobe river where we saw loads of elephants, crocodiles, baboons and also hippos, eagles. The drive back to the Avani was also really comfortable and the whole experience lasted for about 11 hours. This safari is very well worth it even if it seems expensive. Ps. Cherish travel and tours (the company we booked with) is a truly reliable company, with whom we booked so many activities and transports, including from and to the airport, all of which were well organized and always perfectly in time!!
This should have been a wonderful trip because I hear that Chobe is fantastic. We didn't get past the Botswana border though because I did not have a copy of my daughter's birth certificate. This was in the instructions and I should have been more prepared, but the driver knew this when he picked us up and should have left us at the hotel or given us a few minutes to try and deal with the situation (while we still had Wi-Fi) instead of taking us all the way to the border and wasting our morning. We did receive a partial refund from the tour operator.
We used Cherish Tours to book several tours and activities while we were in Livingstone. The Chobe Day trip was excellent, pick up and border formalities were super quick and efficient. Chobe itself was a fantastic reserve, we got see a great deal of elephant, buffalo, crocodiles, and a myriad of other wildlife. Getting to view the animals on a game drive and a boat trip was a great experience. All the guides and rangers were super friendly and very knowledgeable and shared a lot of interesting facts about the fauna and flora we saw. The lunch was also tasty in a lovely setting. I highly recommend this tour as well as the other tours on offer by Cherish Tours. A very professional team.
I would use a different company but still do the full day safari if possible. Our tour started off great- the first driver was wonderful and accommodating. The boat portion was spectacular and the tour guide was very knowledgeable and warm. The lunch was good, but be prepared to pay for water, soda or wine. The hotel had a charging station free of charge at reception for phones that drained during the water portion. The driven safari was great for game viewing, but the driver didn’t bring enough drinks and didn’t provide much information about the animals. We were very thirsty by the time we returned to the Zambia side, and my children and I had no driver to pick us up, as was arranged. I asked around, and one driver agreed to return us for no fee, but then we were passed over to another driver, who ultimately drove us back. Although many of the tour operators help one another out, it was an unnecessary hiccup when traveling with an 11 and 14 year old, and we were all exhausted and thirsty. I messaged the tour operator after to let them know that we didn’t have a ride, and to check on the refund that we were told would be given because one person in our party could not go, but they never responded to my message. Animals we saw: hippos, elephants, giraffe, birds, crocs, water buffalo, water monitor, baboons, African fishing eagle, impalas, and tigers. The white rhino is a separate tour (saw elephants, impala, zebra, and giraffes on that one too, but it was not as spectacular). The ride is bumpy, so be prepared for that. We saw a jeep that was getting unstuck from the sand. It’s also dusty. Some people wore bandannas. Bring sunscreen for your face/arms. TLDR; the full day is wonderful, but don’t expect great customer service outside of the water tour.
We saw so many animals. The guides ensured that we could get good pictures. Also the lunch was really good.
The park was wonderful. The boat tour was fun. The boat was slow and crowded but the captain did his best to find and show wildlife. The driving tour was disappointing. Billed as 3 hours the driver said the time to and from the border counted as part of the three hours. He didn't act as a guide, he only drove. We expected some discussion about the park and the animals and got nothing. He seemed annoyed to be with us.
The ability to see so many animals and get close was incredible. The logistics were very smooth and the staff was friendly and super helpful. No issues at all! Pack sunscreen!
Well-organised trip and seamless transition between Zambia and Botswana. Enjoyable safari for both the game drive and river safari.
Very good trip, saw most of the animals except leopards. The water safari is also unique. Lunch was also impressive, with lots of choice and high quality.
The driver picked us up as planned and was very pleasant. At the border, we changed vehicle and driver.- she took us to Chobe where we waited 50 minutes for the safari vehicle belonging to another company. When it did arrive, there were 8 of us in a 9 seater vehicle. We were told where to sit and it wasn’t together. Someone did move so we could sit together. The driver did his best to show us animals in a hurried safari. Lunch was good but again hurried. We were then passed to another company and different party for the boat ride. We were told that the lady who drove us to the National Park would pick us up after the boat ride. The boat ride went well but on our return, we were told to get into the vehicle with the people we had the boat ride with — they were going to a different border, which was concerning. We did meet the lady at a lay-by and changed vehicle. She handed us back to the original driver at the border
This trip was incredible!! We saw hundreds of animals, many of them up close. The trip was well organized, and the lunch was great. All of the guides were kind, informative, and professional. Highly recommend!
This tour was absolutely amazing and worth every penny! Our land safari guide, Mahindra, went out of his way to find so many animals for us. We were able to see impalas, buffalo, baboons, hippos, elephants, lions and so much more. Mahindra made sure we had a close up views of the animals -we were literally 1 meter from the lions! He was willing to stay as long as everyone needed to get as many pics as we wanted. Brooks was our River safari guide, he was so knowledgeable about every animal we came across. It was an unforgettable day that was the highlight of our trip. On the way back to Livingstone we realized my son and another group member accidentally left their phones in the jeep on the Botswana side, which neither of them realized until we had already passed into Zambia. Both drivers on the Zambia and Botswana sides drove back to the border to return the phones. It was above and beyond our expectations and we were so grateful. All the staff were incredible!
I had an amazing day at Chobe. The guides during the game safari in the morning and the boat ride in the afternoon were professional, knowledgeable and very helpful. We saw plenty of animals. The lunch was delicious and the service was good. Overall, a great day!!
The transition to cross the border into Botswana was seemless and done professionally. I loved the game drive in Chobe. We saw elephants, kudus, impalas, baboons and many more animals. The buffet lunch was delicious and enjoyable. The boat ride on the Chobe river was unforgettable. We saw Hippos, crocodiles, elephants and many more animals and birds. The safari guides for the land and the river parts were knowledgable, patient and very professional. I had an amazing experience.
The experience was amazing! Having the opportunity to do safari on water and land is a rare opportunity. In between we had a delicious buffet lunch with a multitude of options, which was included in the price! Everything was top-notch from the pickup to drop-off. In addition, crossing the border was a seamless process with both countries represented in a single immigration hall. Highly recommended for those who want to safari on a budget!
What an amazing time I had in this trip. The gentlemen who drove the car the safari truck and the boat where spectacular! Professional and knowledgeable. I am an inspiring photographer. I have pictures and memories that will last a lifetime time.
Booked this for my son from NZ-easy and everything went without a hitch. He saw plenty of animals and enjoyed the lunch. Recommended!
The whole tour was well organized, timely, and informative! Everything went according to plan and saw countless lions, elephants, birds, etc...would highly recommend...best safari I've ever been on! Shoutout to Mwangelwa who was our driver...he was awesome!
Mwangelwa drove me to and from the border. He was excellent. Good English, knowledgeable and good to chat to. The river cruise, lunch and game drive were great with knowledgeable guides. We saw a great variety of animals including lion.
What a great trip! We had a fantastic time and saw lion, elephant, zebra, giraffe; buffalo, hippo, and crocodile. Besides a very well organized trip, they took great care of our family member who had to turn around mid-Safari due to a medical issue. Thank you all! Also Mongelwa was a really big highlight on our drive to/from. The whole family loved him and he even played happy birthday for a family member who’s birthday it was
Amazing experience. We were collected from our lodge in Livingstone and taken across the border to Chobe where we saw (at close range) lions, giraffes, hippo, impala, elephants, see eagles etc. The place we stopped for lunch was just beautiful with a lovely buffet (Mowana Safari Resort). The morning was a game drive and then after lunch we took to the water for a boat safari. Fantastic time. *** WORD OF WARNING: YOU MUST HAVE CHILDREN'S BIRTH CERTIFICATES TO GET INTO BOTSWANA ** I'd thankfully brought ours on holiday but, not thinking I needed them, left them at the lodge. THANKFULLY, immigration staff accepted a whatsapp photo of them which the amazing staff at our lodge sent across to our driver.
We so enjoyed our day trip to Chobe. Well organised, prompt pick up and good vehicles. The game drive was fantastic, drive and guide very knowledgeable, and did everything to make sure we had the best experience. Seeing a lion at such close proximity was such a highlight. An excellent lunch was followed by water safari boat. The close Encounters with the elephants was magical.
We booked through Cherish after reading the reviews and cannot recommend them highly enough. they picked us up from the airport and we booked the Chobe day trip, The Zimbabwe Vic Falls trip and the African Queen through them. They are extremely efficient in all ways. The Chobe trip was amazing. We saw loads of Elephants on the boat trip in the morning crossing the river and had a lovely lunch as the Cresta Mowana. In the afternoon we did the game drive and again had great sightings which was completed by seeing a pride of lion. We saw numerous Elephants, Kudu, Impala, Hippos, black Backed Jackel and Giraffes. We would definitely use Cherish in the future. All their drivers are good drivers and are good fun and very professional and are also very informative.
