Such a memorable day seeing the ‘real’ Zambia. Visited a school, village and market. Learnt so much about the local Zambian way of life. Highly recommend to anyone!
Wez took me to see the true life struggles of what it means to grow up and live in Zambia. We visited the Linda community school with over 800 students. We visited a local family home, and we visited a local quarry where people try to make a living for their family. Everyone was very welcoming. Finally we stopped at a local resort and had a beverage while enjoying the view. Wez was very accommodating and took breaks as needed. Wez is very knowledgeable about the area, communicates well and is friendly, fun, and easy to understand. This may be better if you do it in the morning before the sun gets too hot.
Words cannot describe what an incredible time we had experiencing authentic village life in Livingstone. I’ve been to 34+ countries, and this was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had traveling. Everyone we met was so warm and friendly, we felt so welcomed and safe, and we are so grateful we could spend an afternoon with some wonderful people. Just FYI it is ~hot~ and it is ~a lot~ of biking, mostly flat dirt roads/terrain though! Must wear a hat and bring lots of water! Also, highly recommend bringing some notebooks, pens, pencils, crayons and period pads to donate to Linda Community School, which provides education for orphaned and vulnerable children!

Great afternoon cycling around the suburbs of Livingstone. Got to see the way of life here, the Linda community school, the quarry, and the markets. Met a lovely local family who invited us into their home. Very interesting experience!
We stayed only one night in Vic Falls (less than 24 hours) and skipped the more commercial activities to be able to join Wezi and Eustace on this cultural bike tour. It was recommended by friends who had done the cultural bike tour some years ago. ! Wezi arranged everything to get us easily to the Zambian side so we would have enough time . Apart from an excellent logistical follow-up the tour itself was very insightful and heartwarming. We visited the quarry, the village, the market and the impactful Linda school project. We met a lovely family, some very engaged students, enthusiastic children all over and had some funny encounters at the market. If you want to spend an impactful afternoon, don't hesitate as the money of this excursion goes to the school project. You will never forget how this trip touched your heart and the chances it creates. Wezi and Eustace, keep up this fantastic work <3 .
We had a wonderful and very meaningful experience on this bike tour around Livingstone. The tour takes you beyond the usual tourist areas and gives you the opportunity to see how local people live, where they work, the schools, the markets and some of the poorer areas of the community. It is a very eye-opening experience, and you see realities that we normally only see on television. What made the experience particularly special was our guide, Wezi. He is such a lovely person, incredibly kind, respectful and sensitive. He knows how to show you these realities with great sensitivity and without making you feel like you are simply observing someone else’s life. You can really feel that he cares about the community and the people he introduces you to. Along the way, we met children who have very little, yet their biggest excitement was simply to see us and have a photo taken together. Those moments stay with you and make you reflect on how much we often take for granted. The whole bike ride was very well organised, and our guide made us feel comfortable and welcome throughout. It was much more than a bike tour — it was a genuine opportunity to see another side of Livingstone and to connect, even briefly, with the local community. Highly recommended, especially if you are looking for an experience that goes beyond the typical tourist attractions.
This was the highlight of our trip to Victoria Falls. Everything was organised to perfection. Wezi is an amazing guide and we were so grateful to be welcomed into the authentic side of Zambian life. It was great riding the bicycles through local villages, the school and the market, and we met many local people and families who were so kind. We strongly recommend this tour to have an experience beyond the typical tourist activities. This will be one we remember and talk about for a long time to come.
We went on the cultural bike tour as a family of five, and are so happy we did. Wezi has such a big heart for this school and community, and we felt so privileged and thankful to be able to spend some time with him and contribute to this project. We brought some stationery for the school and also some footballs and other toys. Ask Wezi and he will let you know what the needs are. This tour should be mandatory for everyone visiting the Livingstone area to get an understanding of real Zambia. Thank you Wezi!
For the first time in my life i was riding a bicycle in Zambia! And guess what... I loved it! Seeing Livingstone by taxi or by foot is different, on a bike you can go places where you never thought of walking nor driving. Wezi, our bike-tour-guide was very helpful, as i am not that fit for bicycle rides, but he was very patient and he confirmed and encouraged me to go further than originally planned. And I enjoyed the tour all the way!
This was an amazing experience - it was so impactful to visit local communities and see what life is like for people beyond where tourists usually go in Livingstone. Everyone we met was so incredibly kind, and all the kids we met were super excited about the lollipops we brought! HIGHLY recommend :)
We would really recommend this trip to see a local community, some living in mud huts. We were offered a range of bikes to chose from and these were comfortable and worked well. Any adjustments required were made promptly. It was fun and informative cycling through the community on mud roads seeing a different way of life. The market was very interesting as was the quarry but the highlight was visiting the local community school where 2 classes of children sang to us. The guides were very good, giving a lot of information and allowing us to go at our own pace and never rushing us. We really enjoyed this trip as it gave us a view into Zambian culture.
Absolutely amazing experience. We ride through the villages of Livingstone Zambia and met various people and it was quite the experience. We also saw the market which was just wow.
Absolutely amazing trip ! Highly recommend. We went through the villages and met so many wonderful people. We also went to the market. The guide wezi is super nice and friendly and very knowledgeable. You get to see the real Africa.
The cultural bike tour of Livingstone was one of the highlights of our four week trip. Wezi was a fabulous guide who took us through several communities and a market around Livingstone. It was a great way to learn about and see how people live in the area. Thanks for a wonderful and educational tour!
My wife and I went on the culture tour with Wes, we really enjoyed the gentle bike ride and saw things you wouldn’t generally see, for example the local village and the quarry (a real eye opener), the work Wes is doing for the school is commendable, some of the money raised from this bike tour goes to improve the kids lives All in all a very enjoyable experience with an excellent guide.
I'm so glad we did this fascinating tour of local villages in Livingstone. Wezi was a great guide, looking after us and explaining everything very clearly. The tour was just about the right length and exceeded our expectations. Its also good to know that some of the tour fees go to support the inspirational Linda school that we visited along the way.
We absolutely loved this tour with Wezi and Eustice. It was the highlight of our trip to Victoria Falls and probably our entire 3 week trip. I really urge anyone visiting to make sure this is on their list. The people in Livingstone are so kind and beautiful. We enjoyed giving out lollipops to the kids and you could see it made their entire day. Come prepared with cash donations as we used these to thank many for their time spent with us.
This was as great as Victoria Falls, the interaction with locals and Wezi’s knowledge was 10/10. The people are so lovely and hard working, we gave all the US dollars we had and wished we had more, small amounts mean so much to them and can really make such a difference to there day and week. Our greatest joy was the look on the kids faces when we brought them chuppa chup lollipops, it was priceless and they were so polite, Wezi’s tour is the best tour we gave ever done in all our years of travel and his love for his community shines through, keep up the great work Wezi.
One of my favorite tours I've done! The highlight for me was going to Linda and visiting the school there and getting to interact with the school children and answering the questions. Wezi, the guide/owner is doing great things, he gives back to local community with money made from this tour. When he told me that it made me happy I booed this tour because it's helping the local community.

Wezi & Eustice were amazing...so friendly and knowledgeable! From the moment we met them they made us feel like friends and showed us around "their" part of the town. It was not only informative, but we got to see real life and meet people as part of going around their daily routine. I'd highly recommend the tour for anyone who doesn't want a commercial look at daily life! As a bonus, you get to see where a large part of the tour cost goes and how it makes a difference to real people's lives.
Do this tour, you won’t regret it. Eustace our guide was great and he rode with our 6 year old, (125cm and 27kg) on a specially made seat on the back of his bike and provided a helmet so we knew he was safe. Our son rides a bike but I think he was better riding with Eustace due to the heat and uneven surfaces he’s not used to. We were so glad we did this eye opening and educational tour, we met real people and saw real Zambian life, the challenges they face. We visited a family home, a working quarry (no machinery, all done by hand), a local market and the Linda Community School for orphaned and vulnerable children. Everyone was so friendly, the children running out of the villages to see us and shout ‘hi’ and often run alongside our bikes. The ride itself was not onerous, lots of stops and we didn’t find it hard work at all. We spent ages at the school and Eustace was very patient with us, even though our tour ended up being 4 hours instead of 3 as we chatted so much to the people. He was an excellent guide and taught us lots. I was glad I took some money along as I was able to buy some bits from the market and also some amazing hand sewn bags by some local ladies to the school who have a sewing initiative. We saw lots of amazing things on our Africa holiday but this tour especially will stay with me and i would recommend everyone should do this tour. Don’t hesitate to book it!
Highly recommend this tour if you have teens and want them to experience Livingstone from the perspective of local residents living outside of the touristed portions of the city. We stopped at a community school, a surface quarry being worked over by men, women and children, and a private home. We made a small donation at each of these to compensate people for their time. Really appreciated the guides, who were very informative and took care to answers all of our many questions. Tour lasted about 3hrs 30mins but a lot of that was at the stops. Total riding was about 10 miles. Last stop was at a local open air market in Dambwa. Great place to buy crafts and fabrics at much much lower prices than the Mukini curio market.
We had an amazing 3-hour cultural cycling tour through the countryside of Livingstone, Zambia, guided by the wonderful Wez. He was incredibly kind, welcoming, and knowledgeable throughout the tour. One of the highlights was visiting Linda Community School, where we had the chance to meet some of the students, a teacher, and the principal. We were warmly welcomed, and it was a truly moving and rewarding experience. We also visited a local family who graciously invited us into their home and shared their way of life – a powerful and humbling moment. Later, we stopped by a stone quarry, witnessing the hard work and long hours many people endure. The tour ended at a vibrant local market where we even got to taste deep-fried caterpillars! Overall, this was a fantastic and deeply meaningful experience that gave us a genuine insight into local life. Highly recommended!
Took this cycle tour with Wezi. I was the only client which was a bonus! Very easy cycle, most definitely off the tourist path which is what I enjoy. Very easy cycle, very informative, interesting and heartbreaking at times, but it's the REAL Zambia. Its also great that your payment supports local initiatives and the interactions with the locals is priceless. Cannot recommend it highly enough. If you do take this trip I might suggest you bring some school supplies, access to education is very challenging here so anything that can help ease the challenge is a good thing. Get on your bike and see this beautiful part of the world.
Amazing experience getting to know the community in Livingstone with Weze. We biked around and visited the local market and a school that is serving over 800 children and really making a significant impact in the community. We had a nice and easy bike tour with a lot of hi5’s along the way! We even got to learn a few words...Zicom Weze! Happy muzongos!
Wezi is the GOAT! He was such a great speaker and showed us how people in Zambia live ! Very eye opening and I thank Wezi with a full heart! Highly recommend to everyone reading !
This was an enjoyable and easy bike ride through local villages, providing an opportunity to view local people and their life. We visited the local community school and learnt about how they had raised money to provide educational facilities predominantly for orphaned children. Our guide was well informed and spoke about the area with great passion. I highly recommend this trip if you want to get a glimpse into local life and culture.
One of my favourite things I did in Livingstone! It's a 3 hour tour where you get to see the suburbs beyond the main road and experience how people live their daily lives. My guide was absolutely amazing and really cares about what he does and you see the direct impact taking one of these tours brings by providing resources for the local school. If there's one thing you do in Livingstone I highly recommend this.
We did the 3 hr Cultural Bike tour with our wonderful guide Wezi. We could not have found a friendlier, more welcoming, knowledgeable guide than Wezi. We were visiting/staying in Victoria Falls/Zimbabwe and crossed over into Zambia to do the bike tour. The booking arrangements online were easy - even from one day to the other - and we were in contact with Wezi by email to make final arrangements for where to meet on the morning of the tour. It all worked out perfectly. Cycling through Livingstone with Action Bike Tours was the best way to see what life in Livingstone is like, meet the locals and support the Livingstone community. We found ourselves very fortunate to be shown around different areas of Livingstone including the Linda Community School, some neighbourhoods and the buzzing Dambwa market. It was fun and created lasting memories and inspiration for us. We highly recommend a bike tour with Action Bike Tours.
As I stayed in Victoria falls, all I had to do was to meet up at the border and they had a driver meeting me exactly when we were supposed to. Everything was well organized. We only drove for a couple of minutes before we could see my guide and the bicycles. I was the only one on the tour, and I felt extremely safe all the time. He showed me communities, got to see mr. British and his family’s home. The kids also sang to me. Learnt a lot on this trip. Then we went to Linda community school where I got to meet all the kids going to school. Then the trip ended at a local market. During these hours I was the only tourist to be seen, so I feel that I really got to see where the locals lived. Learnt a lot, and will forever remember! Loved this trip, and can highly recommend!
I really enjoyed this tour. It was great to get out of the typical touristy spots to see Livingstone from a different perspective.
This tour is excellent. For anybody who would like to experience authentic Zambian life not on the regular tourist trail. Song and Eustace were very informative, met us at our hotel and it was all very efficiently arranged. The tour is suitable for anyone who can ride a bike. Highly recommended.
We had a great tour with Song through the local villages near Livingstone. Very special insight in the daily life and a hearty welcome by the people. Also visiting the local market was really worthwhile.
Trip to Livingstone and then over to Chobe park this week. We finished the trip off with Wezi’s bike tour and how amazing it was! Wezi is a great tour guide, leading you down meandering roads seeing a side of Livingstone you must see. We came as tourists and left as tourists but with a much better understanding of Livingstone and Zambia itself for that matter!! He also has great knowledge on the Vicfalls and Zimbabwe. The mountain road hybrid bikes were great and I can’t wait to taste the peanut butter I got from the local market we visited along the way. Big up Wezi and his crew! Awesome stuff.
The bike tour was incredible, it was extremely humbling to see the local homes, villages and livelihoods, and Wezi was an absolutely fantastic tour guide, 10/10
Amazing tour, we had 20 people and all of us thoroughly enjoyed it! It's an informative tour and it supports a growing charity too! Wezi was an amazing tour guide I would recommend! Additionally, we attended the overnight safari in chobe which was such an experience, would defo recommend 👌
Songisa is an incredible tour guide who allowed my group to see all sides of Zambia. Visiting the various areas and learning about not just the culture but the places and people was brilliant and there wasn't a single point where I didn't enjoy this experience. Would heavily recommend for people as it allows you to experience the whole country properly instead of just visiting the heavy tourist attractions. 11/10
It has been a remarkable expérience bringing us with biking pleasure through Linda School, Linda South and the Local Market. Bravo and Congrat’s for organising this very intelligent tour in the heart of Linvinstone bedroom ☺️
The guides were fantastic! Pretty easy biking especially if you have recently been on a bike. Witnessed what life looked like for those who live in Livingstone every day.
Wesi is the best tour guide around - amazing experience!! We got a beautiful tour around communities of lusaka and saw some amazing places
10/10 experience would highly recommend getting to see all the different parts of livingstone including the local markets
An incredible experience that gives tourists an insight into the local schools, communities and the culture of Livingstone at its heart. Wezi and all of the tour guides were amazing at creating a fun yet educational experience and were always on hand with an extra bike if anything went wrong. Out of all the activities I experienced this touched my heart the most and my time in Livingstone wouldn’t be the same without it. Thank you so much to the team at action tour guides for all the hard work and happiness they spread. Couldn’t recommend this trip enough to anyone who wants to delve into the true culture and local stories behind the historic location of Livingstone.
Although this may not be for everyone, it definitely was for me!! Although I do enjoy going to museums, galleries, nature parks, etc, what I really like to do when I travel is get a taste of how the locals actually live. Wezi was right on time picking me up at my hotel. We got on the bikes and made our down dirt roads where day labors worked, people lived and shopped. Wezi was great about answering all of my questions about details of how people lived. I really enjoyed going to the market, where we had some food to eat. I'm game for just about anything, so I had some dried Mopani Worms as well as some sort of amazing fried dough fritter thing! (So good!). We stopped by a school, but unfortunately since it was Sunday, it was closed. The next time I come back, I will be sure to do this tour again and will be interested to see how things have changed! I'm told that the teachers at the school will appreciate any donated school supplies, so if anyone is interested in doing the tour, you might keep that in mind. For sure the next time I'm back in Livingstone, I will do another bike tour!!
The tour was awesome , you are really doing an amazing job by doing these bike tours in the community of Livingstone. It was really enjoyable, thank you
This tour was one of the top 5 things we did during our month in Africa. I really did not know what to expect but it exceeded my expectations all the way. It is a completely submersive experience. I love that this tour is there and it’s definitely a hidden gem for people wanting to try something a little different. I wish I would have brought more water and some snacks and goodies to pass out to some of the people I’d encountered on the journey.
This was one of our favorite experiences in the 6 weeks we’ve spent in Africa. Rather than recycling the same tourist trap experiences this adventure takes you into real African villages. Plan on spending 3 hours on a bike and most importantly…. bring plenty of water! , However, as our guide said, “This isn’t the Tour De France!” The pace is leisurely and quite enjoyable. Wezi was a fantastic guide and showed us where locals work, sleep, shop and learn. We highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants a little exercise and wants to learn more about the real Africa!
What a nice experience! Wezi guided us through many places like school, villages, quarry, market, explaining clearly about it, helping us understand better how people live around Livingstone. I highly recommend this tour.
