If you truly are a Beatles fan, this tour is the one for you. You will get the option to choose between a very detailed story or a more general one. I went for the detailed one and I don’t regret it, it was amazing and I learnt so much about the band’s history. Paul, the guide, is very friendly and was born in Liverpool. As he grew up listening to the Beatles he is a true fan and knows everything about them.

Itinerary
We explore the setting for events in John Lennon's earliest childhood that helped shape the person he became. Although he spent only his first few years here, important family circumstances began to unfold at this address that would influence his outlook on life for years to come. These formative experiences provide an important starting point for understanding John's character, his unique perspective on the world, and the qualities that would later influence his songwriting, leadership of the Quarrymen, and role within the Beatles.
Mendips was the home where John Lennon spent most of his childhood and teenage years, and where many of the experiences that shaped his character, interests and outlook on life unfolded. Here we explore the influences, relationships and pivotal events that helped form the young John Lennon, while discovering how memories, people and experiences from this period would later find their way into his music. This stop provides an important link between John's childhood and the emergence of the songwriter, musician and future Beatle he would become.
24 Forthlin Road was the childhood home of Paul McCartney and the setting for many of the experiences that helped shape his outlook on life and approach to songwriting. Here we explore the strong family and musical influences that surrounded Paul during his formative years, while discovering why this modest Liverpool home became such an important creative centre for the young Lennon–McCartney partnership. This stop reveals how Paul's gift for finding inspiration in everyday life helped shape some of the most celebrated songwriting in popular music history.
Strawberry Field offers a fascinating insight into how John Lennon's childhood experiences later found their way into his songwriting. Once a place of curiosity, adventure and escape during his younger years, it would eventually inspire one of the Beatles' most iconic songs. Here we explore the connection between John's memories, imagination and creative development while discovering why this location remained important to him throughout his life.
St Peter's Churchyard marks one of the most important turning points in Beatles history. It was here, on 6 July 1957, that John Lennon and Paul McCartney first met, bringing together two young musicians whose different backgrounds, influences and creative talents would help shape the future of popular music. Here we explore why this meeting proved so significant, how Paul's arrival helped change the direction of the Quarrymen, and how the foundations of the Lennon–McCartney partnership began to take shape. The churchyard also provides a fascinating connection to Beatles songwriting history, including the enduring mystery surrounding the inspiration for Eleanor Rigby.
Penny Lane provides one of the clearest examples of Paul McCartney's songwriting approach and the way he found inspiration in everyday life. Here we explore how ordinary sights, people and places from his journey through Liverpool became part of one of the Beatles' most celebrated songs. As we travel through the locations mentioned in the lyrics, visitors gain a deeper understanding of how Paul's observations of the world around him contrasted with John's more reflective style, creating another fascinating insight into the Lennon–McCartney songwriting partnership. For many guests, seeing these locations while hearing the song brings the story to life in a truly memorable way.
12 Arnold Grove was the birthplace of George Harrison, whose arrival would become another defining moment in the transformation of the Quarrymen into the Beatles. Here we discover how a chance friendship with Paul McCartney led to George being introduced to the group and why, despite concerns that he was too young, his exceptional musical ability proved impossible for John Lennon to ignore. As the band moved away from skiffle and embraced rock and roll, George's arrival helped strengthen its future direction and marked another important step in the story of how four Liverpool teenagers would eventually change popular music forever.
The Liverpool Institute and Liverpool College of Art provide a fascinating insight into a period when the future Beatles were developing their talents, ambitions and creative identities. Although John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison all attended these neighbouring institutions, they did not all know each other at first. Here we explore how education, art, music and new friendships helped broaden their horizons, introducing important figures such as Stuart Sutcliffe and Cynthia Powell while laying the foundations for the next stage of the Beatles story. This stop marks a pivotal period when the group's creative world began to expand beyond childhood influences and towards the artistic and musical ambitions that would eventually take them to Hamburg and beyond.
By the time Ringo entered the story, several major pieces were already in place. The Lennon–McCartney partnership had been established, the group had been forged in Hamburg, Brian Epstein had secured management and a recording contract had finally been won. Yet one crucial question remained unresolved. A difficult decision had left the future of the band's lineup uncertain at the very moment their biggest opportunity had arrived. Determined to move forward, the Beatles set out to recruit the drummer they believed could help fulfil their ambitions. This stop reveals how another defining moment helped complete the lineup that would soon take the world by storm.

Paul was fantastic. Best tour of our entire trip. If you a Beatles fan, visiting the areas that were the inspiration for their many songs and the stories around them explained so much. Well done Paul. Your Canadian friends, Anita and Paul
Paul was so kind and knowledgeable. Having a private tour with just my family made it special. My mom is a big Beatles fan and even she learned some new facts! My daughter knew nothing about The Beatles and was entertained. So this really is a tour for everyone, Beatles lover or not! He also just got a cool new wrap for his car so you can ride in style!
Great Driver and took us to all the Beatles homes and special places the Beatles were in Liverpool. I’m a huge Beatle fan and he gave us information about the Beatles that I never knew.
Paul is an incredible tour kind with so much passion for Beatles history. He was extremely proactive and accommodating in coordinating logistics for the day of our visit since we were day-tripping from Manchester and watching a Liverpool game the same afternoon. We are super grateful that he even dropped us off at Anfield after the tour! The entire tour and car ride was lovely as Paul played lots of Beatles music and old interview soundbites. He is also a great photographer, he took lots of photos of us throughout the tour! No matter how much or how little you know about the Beatles, Paul will meet you where you are and make sure you have a good time.
We loved our tour! Paul was so engaging and wonderful to us. We were very comfortable and enjoyed our time driving around Liverpool. Highly recommend this if you are a big beatles fan!
Paul did a great job of showing us many of the Beatle highlights in Liverpool. The taxi was fine and he seemed to hit most of the places one would expect in the time allotted for the tour.
Had a beatiful tour with friends hosted by Paul Fletcher during our day visit in Liverpool. Very informative and learned a few interesting things about the Beatles and what happened in the years after. Paul took some pictures and shared them with us. Amazing day.
Absolutely recommend this tour. This was a fabulous tour! Paul was our guide, not only was he very knowledgeable about the Beatles, he played their music as we toured around. The one thing that stood out about Paul was he kindness to my husband. My husband had a stoke awhile back. Paul took time to help him in and out of the car and made everything so comfortable. Thank you so much for a great time!
The tour was better than our expectations. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour . it was so interesting and Paul was so full of informative facts. We tour all the Beatles homes except John's due our time constraints. My wife was/is a big Beatles fan and even she learned so many new fun and interesting facts. Paul was a genuine delight . The tour was outstanding. It was more then i expected and one Major reason was the tour director, Paul. His knowledge of the Beatles was incredible and his interpretation of songs was very informative. Paul was very outgoing and made sure we had time at each spot to take pictures. We visited all the sights that showed the whole Beatles experience and history. I highly recommend the tour and definitely Paul as a tour guide.
The tour was fantastic. Paul was an excellent guide and knowledgeable in all things Beatle. His little stories added to our enjoyment of the tour and his love of The Fab Four was evident. One of the Highlights of our vacation….

Paul was an amazing tour guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable. There was not a question asked that he couldn't answer. He went above and beyond what was expected including taking incredible pictures for us. It was a rainy day but that didn't impact our tour at all. He hit all the sights and then some. If you are interested in the Beatles and in Liverpool, you must book your tour with Paul. You will not be disappointed and it will be an amazing time.
Great storytelling by Paul as we traveled to the childhood homes and special spots around Liverpool. We were able to stretch our legs at each stop while Paul shared photos and stories of the Fab 4. Paul asked about our “must sees”, took some wonderful pictures that he sent to us, gave us dinner recommendations, and got us to the train on time. Thanks for the memories.
Paul was great. Very knowledgeable. Had a ton of information. Showered us some interesting sights. The house where Paul and John did a lot of their song writing. The houses where they grew up. The Liverpool Institute where they met. Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields and the meaning behind the songs. And we ended at the Cavern Club. If your interested in a great tour contact Paul You won't be disappointed.
Paul gave us a wonderful private tour in his Hackney cab, showing us all the places where the Beatle’s grew up and got together as a band. Childhood homes and neighborhoods, Penny Lane, Strawberry Field, the church where they met and many stories about how they all met and their early lives. We had as much time as we wanted at each location. Paul really took the time to answer our questions and address our interests. Paul is also an excellent photographer and he took many pictures on his camera and then sent them to us. I highly recommend this tour, well worth your time!
Paul made our trip to Liverpool a special one! He was very thoughtful with the details and made our tour as smooth as possible. And most importantly, he was a Beatles expert. Thanks Paul!
Paul was a great guide. His cab experienced some mechanical issues before we started our tour but Paul stuck it out and found another cab to use and we were on our way promptly with Paul. He was very polite and considerate and very interesting details on our 4 hour Beatles tour in Liverpool. Do not hesitate to use Paul as your guide. He even dropped us off at a requested location at the end of the tour.
If you are visiting Liverpool and looking for a guide with an in-depth understanding of the people and place that shaped The Beatles, Paul is the best tour guide you can possibly find. He possesses a wealth of knowledge on every aspect of their lives and music but shares it in a way that captured and kept our interest from start to finish. The tour was fun and entertaining while at the same time giving us a new understanding of the genius of Lennon and McCartney as individuals and a team. As an added bonus, he took group photos which he shared with us afterwards. Visiting Liverpool has been a lifetime dream. This tour was everything and more than I could have imagined.
What a fabulous tour of the early days of the Beatles . Paul was an amazing guide , so knowledgeable, informative and entertaining. He went the extra mile to ensure we had a great afternoon. Paul has lots of fascinating anecdotes and observations about the Beatles . Definitely recommend him as a tour guide
Any Beatles fan can tell you how monumental this tour is. It's important that your guide understands how powerful the experience is for the fans, and my experience with Paul, our guide, rose to the occasion. He sees these spots everyday, and yet he didn't rush through, or dismiss, or disregard any of our questions or needs. He was the pitcher filled with Beatles knowledge and we were the thirsty vessels he poured into. It was a lovely experience. Once in a lifetime.
Paul is absolutely wonderful. My 14 year old daughter and I are huge Beatles lovers and we were there to honor my late father, who was a Beatles fanatic and who was my daughter's first music teacher before his passing. Paul cared deeply about our "why" for being in Liverpool. The tour was amazing, we learned so much, and there was space for all of our queries and wonderings. We were in Europe for 3 weeks, did many private tours, and Paul's tour was our favorite by far. He is a gem of a human and a phenomenal guide. Highly recommend!
He is amazing! Knowledgeable, friendly, and didn’t rush us. It was the grand tour of each of the Beatles and their beginnings as a band. He took photos of us ant the various locations and shared them with us. A+++++++
Paul did a phenomenal job on our tour! He was kind and knowledgeable. It was a true highlight of our UK holiday! We fully recommend him for your Beatles tour experience.
Where can I start?!… What a bucket list day! Paul, our tour guide made the day even more special, with his passion and knowledge of all things Beatles related! Nothing was too much for Paul, as he took us to all the well known landmarks, and some off the beaten track of the Fab Four… What a day!…. Marvellous memories… Thanks Paul…..John, Ringo and George! 😉🤩
My wife is a huge Beatles fan and I am not so much but this tour was really awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Paul was a great tour guide who took us all of the sites promised and had a ton of really interesting information about the Beatles and the individual members of the band. I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did and the best part was Paul took all of the photos so we could just enjoy the tour instead of worrying about capturing the day.
My wife and I celebrated our 50th Anniversary in the manner we wanted, on a tour of the Beatles and their early history,. It was everything we hoped and Paul was an incredible guide, who was very engaged with the content and also a good story teller. He made the experience relatable and memorable.
We had an amazing time on the Beatles tour! Our guide was extremely friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. He made sure we felt comfortable and enjoyed every moment of the tour. He was always available to answer our questions and provided valuable tips for after the tour. The tour was very informative, and we appreciated the personalized attention. We loved that we could go at our own pace and feel like we had a private tour. The guide also took some wonderful photos of us, which was a lovely touch. I highly recommend this tour to any Beatles fan, it's a fantastic way to experience the history and culture of the band. The service was top-notch, and our guide went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. Thank you for a wonderful experience! The photos are the one that he took with his professional camera
We had an excellent time exploring Liverpool with Paul. He was super knowledgeable about all things Beatles and a really nice guide. Paul let us take our time exploring the sites and we didn’t feel rushed or hurried along. The Beatles songs in the cab were great to sing along to. Our kids thoroughly enjoyed the special treats provided by Paul’s wife. We would highly recommend taking a tour with Paul. We were a couple with an eight and ten year old with us and the kids enjoyed the tour too.
My wife and I signed up for a Beatles Tour while visiting Liverpool and we had no idea what we were in for. Our Tour Guide Paul Fletcher was amazing and provided an exceptional experience with photos and stories for each of the band members. Paul enjoyed sharing details and his thoughts behind the source of some of the lyrics. Paul's enthusiasm with the Beatles was infectious and made for a truly wonderful experience.
Best tour we took on our cruise. Paul was very knowledgeable and was able to tell us about how the Beatles were formed as well as other parts of their story. The taxi was comfortable and roomy. My wife had a portable electric scooter and Paul loaded and unloaded it for us. Paul took several pictures of us at different locations. He took pictures of us taking pictures of things which we thought was a great idea.
The tour stops at the boyhood homes of the Beatles, most importantly John Lennon's and Paul McCartney's homes. Paul gives a detailed accounting of their childhood lives and how they all met. Very informative. He also likes to take pictures of his guests (which he shares) and his favorite style is taking photos of you taking a photo. The only ding to the tour was that we would have liked to have spent more time at Penny Lane. Paul also plays Beatles songs in the car as you tour the area. That was enjoyable.
We had radical shift in travel plans and found ourselves in Liverpool in late February. I have always wanted to visit Liverpool to see where the young members of The Beatles grew up and what formed their musical roots. We were very fortunate to have found Paul through an internet search and a few recommendations. He was an amazing wealth of information. Not only about each band member but about Liverpool itself and how that time period influenced the band. When we were able to go inside the hall where John Lennon was introduced to Paul McCartney for the first time, Paul, our guide, was overjoyed as this rarely happens. And it was really fun to listen to the songs that John and Paul wrote right there, Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields. I highly recommend Paul and if I ever get back to Liverpool I plan on looking him up and seeing what’s new on the tour.
It was our lucky day and best day of our trip when we met Paul. We're in our 70s and we thought we knew everything there was to know about the Beatles. No we didn't! Paul was amazing. He fine tuned our tour to the places we were most interested in. We learned so many new things such as the pipe Paul and his brother would climb to get in the window when they didn't have their keys. Or that his home had a phone because his mom was a midwife. And the Ringo triangle! Paul was patient and kind and we highly recommend him.
Paul was absolutely amazing. So gracious and knowledgeable, just made the perfect day. If you get a chance take Paul’s tour, you won’t regret it.
This was a fantastic Beatles tour! Pauls knowledge, passion, and storytelling really brought everything to life. We learned so much and truly enjoyed every moment. It was a highlight of our trip — we’ll be recommending it to all our friends!
Paul is the best guide we have ever met , the trip with him was in one word outstanding. His knownlege about Beatles in my scale is 10+
Paul is An amazing perdón and guide. As soon as you get into his car he plays Beatles. He explains everything with patience and love. He is a real Beatles lover. He knows so many things and details about them you couldn t imagine. He takes his time, offers to take pictures, and really enjoys his work. We keep everything he told us in our Beatle hearts. It is so really worth it. We strongly recomend this tour with Paul💛
We had a great experience with Paul, our taxi guide, during a Beatles tour in Liverpool. Since Paul is born and raised in Liverpool he is a knowledgeable and engaging guide who specializes in Beatlesthemed tours. He loves sharing stories about the Fab Four's time in Liverpool including visit to their former homes and iconic sites like Penny Lane, Strawberry Field and many more. Paul is friendly, he likes to tell stories about John, Paul, George and Ringo, he is clear speaking and very well understandable which is good for international visitors. Our visit to Liverpool was very much worth it - thanks to Paul. We never forget his guidance and wish him all the best with his guests. Pauls firsthand knowledge brings the band's early days to life. Elisabet & Tommi, Nina & Dóri
We did the tour with the guide Paul. It was the realisation of a dream of everyone in the family. Paul was very attentive and proved to be a great knowledgable and enthusiastic. We felt like we were in a conversation with a friend who also loves The Beatles. I really recommend the experience
This trip with Paul was the best thing we did and made our whole weekend! We had always wanted to do a tour and learn more about the Beatles, family history and see the sights but knew we wouldn't get it all covered ourselves! We were able to cover so much, hear stories and facts we wouldn't have uncovered whilst listening to the music and travelling with ease! The information Paul gave us was perfect, spot on for what we wanted to know and he is a brilliant conversationalist. Loved every minute! Highly recommend! 5*s! Thank you so much for making our visit!
We had a fantastic time! Paul showed us everything, knew so much about the area and the Beatles! He was very friendly, knowledgeable, patient, accommodating to our questions and our needs. He clearly enjoyed the tour himself and was clearly also a Beatles fan. We also appreciated that he didn't just 'watch the clock', not just staying on a schedule, but taking time in places where we had extra interest and questions. Highly reccommended!
If you're remotely thinking, "should I take this tour?", or I'm just a casual fan of the Beatles or I've seen and consumed everything about the Beatles. Get off the fence, you need to go. Paul's tour, hands down, exceeded my expectations. Paul put us "in the moment", intricately weaving together the Beatles story, detailing how family relationships, locations, musical backgrounds, and life circumstances influenced and evolved their music and craft. With each stop of the tour, Paul's narrative of the Beatles left us with an understanding of why and how things came to be. I kid you not, my wife shed a few tears on the tour, I asked why. It was Paul's recounting of the pretty nurse, combined with a song in our tour car that culminated into those tears. You just can't get that experience from reading a wikipedia page. Thank you, Paul, for immersing us in the experience. Not sure how it was possible, but the tour made us even bigger fans of the Beatles.
