The trip was cancelled and we weren't advised by company until we turned up.
Sadly this was cancelled at short notice yesterday Monday for Thursday this week for a coach of elderly people . . So beware and don’t rely on the trip as it seems there are issues to be resolved . Sadly no photos as we never made it for our day out .
The trip was cancelled due to a technical issue. I was not informed of this and am now experiencing difficulties obtaining a refund
The cruise did not go ahead due to 'technical issues' Whilst I appreciate some things are unavoidable, I found out purely by chance after checking online - as the weather was very windy. I was not advised by Viator that the cruise was not going ahead.
Hi, the cruise ride got cancelled and I would like to get a full refund. Please let me know if you require any additional information from me. Best Regards Aarush J. Sharma
This was a perfect tour up and down the Liverpool riverside, highlighting all the important landmarks as we went. This was the very first thing I did on arrival in the city and it was a great introduction which I would recommend to future visitors.
If you want a Mersey ferry trip which is soulless with no atmosphere with a running commentary only available if you have a smart phone, then this is the trip for you
A nice boat ride while in Liverpool and Gerry and the Pacemakers, Ferry Cross the Mersey playing in the background made it
I had no wi fi on the boat I couldn’t log on to the QR code , I asked one of the staff and I was told there was no wi fi the guy looked awkward about it as he couldn’t help me . I understand this was the second day this boat was in service .
Very efficient and well organised excursion. Interesting information on the history of the river snd surrounding environs and buildings. Commentary available via QR code to your phone, so make sure you take your headphones! Shame that the commentary isn’t available to all (including those without smart phones) as this means some travellers miss out
Nice cruise with very informative information. We enjoyed spotting the Different buildings. Very easy getting on and off.
First time we have done this trip . We didn’t know what to expect. It was very informative and we were lucky because it was a warm clear day . It took 45 minutes and was not expensive. So pleased we did this as enjoyable.
Great way to see the city. Chilly on the water so take a coat ( October) Lovely views of the city. We all enjoyed it ( party of 6)
A nice little trip across the Mersey. Lovely sights and was a lovely day when we visited. Never done this before and my 14 year old son enjoyed it too.
Nice trip but no tour guidance!!
I enjoyed the ferry trip , I took the 10am ferry not that busy , when the ferry returned the queue for the 11am was enormous. Very good commentary, scan the QR code and don't forget your earbuds. There is a cafe at the terminal, coffee is good. I enjoyed the trip , it gives you a great insight into the River Mersey and Liverpool.
Great fun and hugely interesting.
Unfortunately unbeknown to us a large cultural group were on board and the noise was awful, the music i didn't mind its the constant shouting we couldn't bare, ruined tge experience:-(
Fun ferry on the Mersey river. Audio commentary for tour requires your own headphones, this wasn’t clear. Excellent views of the docks
Very disappointing. They allowed very loud music to be played on board and the audio did not work for the commentary. Even if the audio had of worked it wouldn’t be heard over the huge speaker that was blasting out music. It did not feel in anyway like an excursion.
Enjoyed the trip but needed own headphones to access the tour guide, which we didn’t have. Still fun though
Can't think of a better way to sepnd a sunny afternoon in Liverpool! This combined being on a Mersey ferry with seeing the city, and the Wirral, from the water and was very informative. We were given a handout with our tickets which showed where the ferry goes and points of interest. We also had spoken guides via our phones which started automatically. Efficient and easy boarding and disembarkation and plenty of seating. It must be good as we even had gulls hitching a ride on the railings!
Took a ferry across the Mersey and it was great. Caught the first ferry at 10am, a bit choppy and windy, but was good fun. Highly recommend.
A non event. The only music was ferry across the Mersey on repeat! No commentary unless downloaded it. Money better spent on other trips.
Great value for money. Perfect little boat, with a covered but outdoor upper deck. Audioguide which plays by GPS when you're in front of the site, worked great. Great World War II history sites, but especially a great memory for Gerry and the Pacemakers, and the Lads from Liverpool.
Lovely relaxing cruise on a lovely sunny afternoon. Go when it's calm if you can and get in the queue at least 20 minutes before if you want to sit outside.
Very disappointed. It wasn’t a cruise more of a boat trip across the Mersey. Would be much better with a live commentary. The boat only goes from Liverpool across to Birkenhead and at Birkenhead it sat for 15 minutes doing nothing. No music on board either. Many people were disappointed. Def wouldn’t recommend.
A great informative trip must if you are visiting the city you’re able to purchase snacks and a cup of tea on board but advise wrapping up warm in the winter months
No commentary, very short circular trip and rather rude staff. I hadn't been on the ferry for 20+ years before this and won't be hurrying back.
It was a fun experience. I felt sad that there was no alternative to earphones as we forgot these. Most London cruises give information on a loud speaker. But they did warn us so it's our own fault for forgetting! It also assumes you have data which is tough for children and visitors. Anyway, we are glad we did it, and the fact it's a fun, painted ship added to the experience.
A very authentic feel to this trip aboard the good ship ‘Everybody Razzle Dazzle’ with great views of the highlight sights of the Mersey estuary. No in-person guiding but an informative commentary available for download on a smartphone, ideally with headphones or earbuds available. We felt that the commentary would have been more accessible if broadcast over the ship’s PA system.
Very nice ride on a newly upgraded ferry. Helped it was a gorgeous day! Smooth and a way to see the beautiful city of Liverpool.
Very good tour and value for money
Super easy to book through get your guide Really friendly and welcoming staff It was our first time on the ferry cross the mersey and even with the drizzly weather it was really nice. Plenty of space to sit and walk around. Highly recommend
This is a ferry repurposed as a tour boat. There is also a commuter ferry service which visits the 3 docks and uses the same facilities. The tour only stops at two points, and you're free to get off on the other side and explore the New Brighton beach area, and take a later 2nd leg of the tour back. If you go in the summer (before the end of August) there is a free connecting bus service from the ferry terminal to the beach with several stops. The busses are timed to match the ferry arrivals/departures, and even though it was a drizzly day, we enjoyed going down to the beach and boardwalk and walking around for a couple of hours. The boat itself is a very nice ferry with access to several open air decks for great photos. They have a small shop set up and (of course) restrooms on board. The one downside some people mentioned is that the "tour" part with audio commentary about the sights is phone-only, and ostensibly requires headphones to listen. You'd also need a data plan on local cell service to download the audio files unless you think ahead and download in advance. It does have a written version of the tour material if you don't have headphones or prefer to read. While not perfect, this worked pretty well, and was better than trying to hear tour information on the loudspeaker over the fairly loud ferry engine. The only real complaint we had is that the tour page played annoying background music until you approached one of the tour sites, then it switched to the appropriate spoken tour. There was no way to disable the music, which made it impossible to hear anyone in your group or the spoken announcements. If the background music were eliminated it would be fine. The scenery was great, and the ferries were operated very professionally, with friendly staff. Overall a great experience we would do again in retrospect. Reasonably priced for what it is.
This was a very nice trip with good views of Liverpool from a different viewpoint. They played Gerry and the Pacemakers Ferry Across the Mersey (of course!) when we set off. Glad we did it.
I visited during a busy weekday in late-August. Immaculate boat, ‘Snowdrop’. Helpful staff. Plentiful indoor and outdoor seating. Cafe selling sandwiches, snacks and hot & cold drinks. Toilets. Commentary via a QR Code (take a smartphone & headphones). A great way to view the Liverpool and Wirral skylines and learn about their history.
Well worth booking this trip, see a side if Liverpool you can’t see on land, highly recommended
Nice way to spend an hour, seeing Liverpool from a different view.
It was a nice way of spending an hour and a different view of the city
This is a fun and informative thing to do on a trip to Liverpool. We were staying nearby so just walked down and bought tickets for the next trip - they go every hour. The QR code lets you download an audio guide which gives information at various points and gives you a de ent start to a trip to see the length of the Docks and some useful history and information. We enjoyed the experience.
It was ok. Not sure I would go again. The coffee shop was nice.
A lovely experience in glorious sunny weather. Myself and my son sat at the top of the ferry and thoroughly enjoyed the ride. We didn't have headphones on, we just looked out and read the leaflet detailing the sights around us.
Fab cruise seeing the city from the water. Highly recommend!
A lovely morning on the river. Really enjoyed it good QR audio links. Just feel the price could be lowe given return local users on the ferry is about £4!
Really disappointed, expected more, no music, no commentary, no ice cream on a really hot day, no value for money, you can do better Liverpool.
When in Liverpool you have to “cross the Mersey”. Bought combination ticket on line for the 50 min cruise and discounted Beatles Museum. Excellent value. Wander down to terminal near Beatles Fab Four statue. Significant queues for ferry but easy boarding and plenty of space for all to sit on various decks. Ferry does a wander down Mersey, docks at Birkenhead for 10 mins then comes back. Good opportunity for photos and leisurely cruise. Audio tour didn’t seem to work but didn’t need it. Sat back and enjoyed the calm and views.
Very good tour, no audio commentary though was disappointed with this as would of liked to of learnt when it was first used etc.
Probably would’ve been even better if I’d listened to the commentary but had to look after a 4 year old.
