Jack was top notch. He was personable, had expert knowledge and wanted to make sure he provided what we were looking for. He is a Beatles expert, a local, with personal experience. We would recommend him to anyone who wanted a great Beatles, Liverpool experience. He told wonderful stories.

We will start at the iconic statue of the Fab four - John, Paul, George and Ringo. This is at a beautiful location at Liverpool's Pier head right on the river Mersey. Surrounded by the historical "3 Graces" buildings there is plenty to see and learn about in this area and some fantastic photo opportunities.
The arts school that John Lennon attended which is next door to the high school that Paul McCartney and George Harrison went to. Here we discuss the early days of the band and look back to their time as the "Quarry Men" and also playing in Hamburg Germany. A Beautiful area of the city centre surrounded by Liverpool's two Cathedrals.
A photograph at the oldest remaining "Penny Lane" road sign that Paul McCartney recently signed. We discuss why Paul wrote the song and what it meant to him amongst other things. Then we will drive down Penny Lane while we of course listen to the song and take in the surroundings that Paul lists in the song.
Johns beautiful song was about a place he used to visit and luckily that place is still there to this day. Now a modern visitors centre, souvenir shop and museum dedicated to John (which is still ran by the Salvation army). We take a walk around the beautiful gardens that John used to frequent and also visit the famous red gates - taking in the surroundings and discussing all things John.
A unique location that has two special areas right next to each other. The place were John and Paul first met as teenagers and also the grave of "Eleanor Rigby".
As a young man John moved to live with his Aunt Mimi in a beautiful house where she raised him. Now owned and preserved by the National Trust.
Home to the McCartney family throughout Paul's teenage years and also the birth place of many of their early hits. Paul and John spent countless hours at this house writing and rehearsing.
Ringo was definitely from humble beginnings and grew up in a place that he holds very close to his heart. We check out his small childhood home and also the stunning painting of him right next to it.
We take a look at the most famous club in the world "The Cavern" from the outside - situated on Mathew Street. The Beatles played here 292 times and it was their home and the place where they gained many of their early followers.
Visit the first home George lived in as a young boy growing up in working class Liverpool and explore his humble beginnings.

We had a great tour. Jack was at the train station to greet us. Jack gave us fascinating stories of the Beatles meeting and drove us to the homes where they grew up. He gave us background about some of their popular songs while playing them as we toured. He immersed us in his Beatles experience.
Just got back from a Disney Cruise where Liverpool was one of our ports, and we booked Jack as our guide for his “Best Bits of Liverpool” tour. Absolutely top notch in every way! Jack was great with communication ahead of the tour, and when we arrived, he gave precise instructions for an easy meetup (great van), and had a great itinerary planned full of insider tips, facts and stories about the city and the Beatles. He guided us all around town beyond the scope of the group buses and we got to enjoy practically every site on our own. Our group included my dad and my adult special needs brother. Jack was so great with him—definitely professional but also warm, friendly and ready to roll with the punches. We were all totally relaxed and had a fantastic day. If you are headed to Liverpool, you couldn’t do better than Jack—don’t hesitate to book his tour! (And Jack, we’re not forgetting to do our fun homework!) :)
Jack is a Beatles expert for sure and we enjoyed his knowledge and pleasant and energetic personality. He worked very hard to show us his most interesting Beatles sights within the time period we had. He maintained his cool getting us back to our cruise ship on time with heavy traffic. We wish him the best... we felt like we made a friend.
Jack is very knowledgeable, personable, articulate and made our tour a very enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend him to both Beatles aficionados and novices alike. It was a memorable and enjoyable afternoon.
This is a MUST tour for Beatles fans! Marc, our guide/driver, was excellent. He knew all the places a true Beatles fan would want to visit-and a couple special locations too. He shared many facts and interesting stories, plus he had Beatles music playing in the van as we drove from location to location!
Jack was a wonderful guide sharing stories and history of the Beatles, their legacy and connections to Liverpool. A lengthy tour worth the price
Jack was great! Had great stories and insights into the Beatles.
Our Liverpool Beatles private tour surpassed any expectation we could have had. All of us said how great it was because of our tour guide’s knowledge and enthusiasm. Jack Rigby did an outstanding job of sharing his local knowledge and genuine interest. The 3 1/2 hour time period was about right. The pace and the mood was fun and very nice. Jack actually graduated from the Liverpool Art School where John Lennon went and Paul and George were in the next building. He shared the photo of Paul McCartney presenting him his diploma. We could have spent the rest of the night at the Cavern if we didn’t have to catch a train back to London. John Prisciandaro (JP)
Jack gave us a wonderful experience in Liverpool. He was knowledgeable, personable and provided an itinerary that gave us the perfect Liverpool day. He made the Beatle’s come alive for us as we left with many memories of the Beatle’s presence in the city. We highly recommend Jack as your personnel tour guide when visiting Liverpool.
Jack was very professional, easy to book with, reminder sent day of pickup and was extremely knowledgeable. Safely guided us around Liverpool. Six seniors and was compassionate and attuned to our needs. Great personality and any questions asked knew the answers had great insight and little behind the scenes insight. I would highly recommend this tour for novice Beatles fans and knowledgeable too. One of our best guided tours, ever..
Sean our guide was unbelievable. He was intriguing to listen to and knew so much about the Beatles. We couldn’t have asked for a better day. Dwayne, our driver, played Beatles music while we drove around and added to the day with wonderful anecdotes. They both let us take as much time as week needed. We never lacked for things to talk about. Best day!
Our Beatles and city tour with Jack was the best experience we had in Liverpool. His knowledge and amusing stories were very entertaining. Jack has a great personality and is very accommodating. Our entire group was very impressed with Jacks knowledge.
See all the sights you’ve ever read about related to the Beatles. Guide is extremely knowledgeable and truly knows his way around the city. Listen to the music as you explore. Met/exceeded all expectations.
Jack is great!! Very knowledgeable and entertaining. Even gave us a perfect recommendation for lunch at the end of the tour!!
It was amazing. Jack was so knowledgeable. We went everywhere we wanted and told his bits you wouldn’t get from a big tour.
Jack Rigby was very knowledgeable and made the Beatles come alive. I am so glad we didn't do one of the big bus tours. The private tour was awesome! It was the best tour of any knid that I've been on. Thanks, Jack!
This was an amazing tour! Jack was knowledgeable, patient and kind. We learned so much about the Beatles and about Liverpool as well. Highly recommend. Absolutely worth it!
Excellent tour, Jack has a wealth of Beatles knowledge and shares it in an entertaining way. He is very flexible in altering the tour sites so you can see what you want. Conscious of the ship schedule.
My husband Dean and I had a fantastic private Beatles tour with Marc. We started at the Beatles statue and then visited Penny Lane and Strawberry Field, along with several other iconic locations connected to the band's history. What made the tour so special was Marc's incredible knowledge and storytelling. He shared fascinating facts, background, and personal details that brought the songs to life in a completely new way. His insights have actually changed the way I listen to Beatles music. I now catch references and meanings that I never understood before. One of my favorite moments was learning the story behind the lyric, "nothing to get hung about" from Strawberry Fields Forever. Now I can't help but giggle every time I hear it. If you're a Beatles fan—or even just curious about their history—I highly recommend taking a tour with Marc. His passion, knowledge, and sense of humor made this an unforgettable experience.
The Bespoke Beatles Private Tour in Liverpool exceeded our expectations. Jack was knowledgeable, engaging and conducted himself professionally. He went out of his way to ensure the tour was what we were looking for. Highly recommend.
Jack was the best, very accommodating and informative. Didn't rush us through anything. He got us very near every site.
Jack was an exceptional host who helped give us memories that will last a lifetime. He was friendly, flexible, and extremely knowledgable, exposing us to a myriad of facts, places, and experiences related to Liverpool and the Beatles. He was very accomodating and thoughtful. He was empathetic to our needs, and took great care to ensure we had a delightful time. I would fully recommend him! I have reached a point in my life where my main goal is to make wonderful memories with the people I love. Jack certainly helped to accomish this.
Our tour guide was exceptional. He knew all sorts of Beatles history. As our tour progressed he played Beatles music significant to where we were located. I.E. played Penny Lane on Penny Lane road. At the end of the tour he dropped us off at a pub where we enjoyed Fish and Chips, and then walked back to our ship, after he gave us specific directions first. He told us we were lucky doing the tour early for the traffic wasn’t bad. Well done.
We only had one day in Liverpool since we took the train up from London. This tour is an absolute must for not only Beatles fans, but also anyone interested in history. Our guide, Mark, rightly told us that you cannot understand the Beatles and their music without understanding Liverpool and our city tour was so insightful. Lots of cool surprises, We then took in all of the Beatles sights and were in no way disappointed. Mark was so knowledgeable and full of personality. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone whether you are staying in Liverpool or just up for a day trip.
We took the train up from London for the day and wanted to see as much of Liverpool as possible with an emphasis on the Beatles. This is the best tour to take for that. It was worth every penny and a wonderful experience. You cannot really understand the Beatles and their music without understanding the city of Liverpool. We began with an overview of the city that was fascinating - An excellent historical background. We then proceeded to all of the relevant Beatles sites with many surprises thrown in for good measure. Mark, our guide, was so knowledgeable that it made for a unique and wonderful day. I would highly recommend this to anyone whether you have just one day or several to spend in Liverpool. You will not be disappointed.
Our guide was very knowledgeable about The Beatles and made every effort to give us an insight that most people wouldn’t know.
This was the best tour of our England vacation. Marc our tour guide was fantastic. He truly enjoys his profession and really knows Beatles history. He took us to places and shared stories that brought me closer to the band that has been a huge part of music in my life. Being on the boardwalk on the Mersey, seeing the shelter in the middle of the roundabout on Penny Lane, Strawberry Field, standing in front of Paul’s house where all those great songs were written, The Cavern Club and more. This was a complete Beatles experience. Marc shared so much Liverpool history with us. He was so generous with his time. He showed us the most grand church I have ever seen and more than I could have expected. The vehicle was very comfortable and the perfect ride since we were in and out of the van at all the different places. I would recommend this tour over any kind of bus tour. If you are only going to Liverpool once in your life, this tour is priceless. Very immersive into Beatles history. And a great guide.
Bursting with enthusiasm and an encyclopaedic knowledge of the history of The Beatles and Liverpool, Jack is the perfect guide. Our four hour itinerary was full of stops, but not so busy to be overwhelming: we had time to take in the venues, to enjoy them, and to ask questions. Jack has so many anecdotes about The Beatles. All drawn from his extensive research. He took us to places that the larger tourist buses cannot reach.
This was the most immersive experience for a true Beatle fan. Jack was so knowledgeable and made it so enjoyable.
We are four seniors who customized a tour with Jack, and from our very first contact we were impressed. He worked with us to create the perfect combination of a full Beatles tour, Liverpool’s social and cultural highlights, and even a lovely lunch stop. Jack was accommodating, efficient, and professional throughout the entire process. Communication was excellent from the time of booking until our pickup. During the tour he was knowledgeable, friendly, interesting, and always polite and professional. He truly delivered a five-star experience. We were very impressed and highly recommend him for either his standard tours or a customized experience. It was truly a wonderful day in Liverpool!
My wife and I recently cruised the British Isles with hopes of making our Liverpool stop a window onto the Beatles early history. We selected a private tour with the Guide Guys Liverpool and had Jack R. as our all-day adventure guide in the city. Impressed by other visitors reviews of his work, we were confident he would be the right choice. By the end of the day, we celebrated a submersion into the Beatles' early history that exceeded our already high expectations. Not only did he give us in-depth, nuanced insights into the standard stops covered by larger bus tours, he took us deeper into the history at every turn and constantly gave us options as to what we could do. His passion for the group and the music was obvious and so was his commitment to making this the special day we wanted. From their out-of-the-way haunts, to the places where they met and composed their early works, to an amazing time at the Cavern Club and a trip down Penny Lane to the "real" Penny Lane sign, Jack delivered everything a private should be. Thanks to his extra efforts, our lunch at the Philharmonic where Paul McCartney delivered a surprise mini concert a few years ago was a fitting climax to a day filled with surprises. Most importantly, we had a chance to see and feel the city of Liverpool as it was when the group was still a local bar band looking for the big break. For my wife and I, Jack's "magical tour," replaced our sense of mystery about a city we had never visited with a new and welcome familiarity that will forever change the way we listen to the musical legacy of the greatest rock 'n roll band of all time. Thanks for being so interested in us and for making this possible.
Jack was phenomenal. This is an intimate tour and you learn so many things that you would likely never hear on a big bus tour. Well worth the cost and time!
We LOVED our tour with Jack! Jack was super responsive and easy to communicate with leading up to our tour and made meeting up at the train station very easy. I had informed Jack prior to our tour that my brother is a person with Autism who is a major Beatles fan, he was extremely inclusive of his needs and made for a seamless tour. Jack offered such a wealth of knowledge without being overwhelming and answered all questions no matter how big or small. The four hour tour flew by! Would highly recommend if you find yourself with a few hours in Liverpool!
We enjoyed every minute of our tour, Mr. Jack Rigby is very courteous, polite and knowledgeable. He is very professional and answers all our Beatles questions. We visited all the sites listed on the Viator itinerary and more. We highly recommend this tour with Mr. Jack Rigby as the host. Thank you.
Jack has an encyclopedic knowledge of the Beatles and their formative years in Liverpool. He was one of the best tour guides I’ve had in years and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking to know more about the Beatles early years.
Jack was great. He’s very knowledgeable and a great guide. The tour was amazing. I highly recommend it if you are a Beatles fan.
Visiting Liverpool, a Beatles tour is a must. The Beatles had the most #1 hits. This Liverpool and Beatles tour gives you inside stories that bring the hits to life. Jack tells you the story behind Penny Lane while driving down Penny Lane with the song playing quietly in the background. Get insights into the personalities of John, George, Paul and Ringo and how their upbringing impacted each one and the songs they wrote. So if you visit Liverpool a Beatles tour is a must and this Beatles tour is the best.
We had the absolute BEST experience on our Beatles tour in Liverpool! From start to finish, our guide brought the story of the Fab Four to life in such an engaging and memorable way. We were able to visit the homes of John, Paul, and Ringo (George’s home is not accessible due to it being closed off) as well as so many other meaningful sites connected to their lives and their music. This tour was extra special for us because the trip from CT to Liverpool was a Christmas gift for my husband, and visiting ‘where The Beatles began’ was on his bucket list. To say he was blown away would be an understatement—he was completely over the moon! Watching him take it all in was such a joy, and I know these memories will stay with us forever. Our guide, Jack, was knowledgeable, personable, and clearly passionate about The Beatles and their history. We learned so much more than we expected (and my husband knows A LOT!) and the details, stories, and insider insights made the whole day unforgettable. If you’re a Beatles fan (or married to one!), this tour is an absolute must. It exceeded every expectation and gave us an experience we’ll treasure always.
Jack is a gem! We can’t recommend this experience highly enough. Jack’s Beatles knowledge is extraordinary! We loved Liverpool and this tour!
The tour was terrific. The theme was the Beatles and we got the full story including see their childhood homes, where the band came together and a lot of great stories about them.
Jack Rigby took us around Liverpools Beatle highlights - from John, Paul and Ringo’s childhood homes to places they met, played music, grew up. He knew his Beatle music, history and trivia!
This was one of the best tour ever - Jack Rigby was outstanding - so knowledgable, accommodating, and very personable. Recommend him and this excursion.
