From our meeting with Paul at the Bluecoat to the end of the tour at the statues of the ‘Fab Four’ at the Pier Head, the tour was first rate. Paul was full of facts and anecdotes. He wove the narrative around the rise of The Beatles from The Quarrymen to international stardom, from playing at a local Woolton parade to playing stadiums in America. Paul was personable and interested in shared memories of the period. He kept us entertained over two hours and even found time to share some nuggets of historical interest from Liverpool’s past. A wonderful afternoon.

It is fun and educational and a trip down memory lane. Our guid tall Paul was very enthusiastic and it was infectious. Be prepared to learn new things about The Beatles
I had great time with Simon. It was good to hear all the well known histories about the Beatles from a Liverpudlian. And a lot of things i didn’t know. Five stars
My name is Tim. I had a blast this afternoon in Liverpool on a walking tour lead by Mike. We met at The Bluecoat on School Lane and Mike was handily wearing the custom Purple jacket. The next two hours flew by as we visited stop after stop within walking distance, all related to the Beatles, the greatest band that ever was. Mike was friendly, humorous and extremely knowledgeable about not just the Beatles but Liverpool culture in general. The tour was definitely worth the money spent on it. I would highly recommend this tour company and this tour guide to any person who wants to experience the Beatles’ journey while visiting the places where it all happened! Thank you Mike!
Mike presented such a passion for his tour. You could tell he knew his stuff. He answered questions along the way.
Despite the rain not letting up, Paul took us through the city and back in time to the 50s and 60s Liverpool.
Roy was excellent and entertaining throughout the hurricane winds, heavy rain and cold temperatures! He had lots of anecdotes and it was a very informative tour- we learned a lot. Well worth the money.
Excellent tour with an enthusiastic and competent guide : a treat despite the rain!

SImon is clearly very passionate about the Beatles and Beat music! He made the tour so interesting and interactive at times. He explained everything so well, interspersed with playing the music too. Thank you so much Simon.
Simon was a terrific guide, highly informative and fun. Learned so much about the Fab Four we didn’t know as we saw some of the important sites. Loved that he enhanced the tour with music and videos. A+ experience.
Fantastic insights into the family background and younger lives of the fab 4. Informative and interesting facts about the forming of the band. Phil our guide was very engaging and humorous. Small groups. Definitely recommend.
Wethought we were Beatled out after spending previous days walking around Liverpool , visiting museums etc. however Paul, our guide was fantastic and knowledgeable sharing stories about early Beatles days and not your typical Beatles rhetoric you would normally be subject to. Highly recommend
Very informative and enjoyable walking tour of Beatles locations and history in the city of Liverpool.
Very interesting and knowledgable guide to the Beatles and History. Nice friendly guide. Well worth the money and the 2 hours.
We had an amazing Beatles walking tour with Paul! Only the 4 of us in the group a very personal experience. His presentation was anecdotal with personal experiences and he was able to bring together the Beatles career with coincidental , or were they fated, scenarios . Brilliant thank you Paul for a fabulous tour . Eleni and Mario
Paul from Purple Tours, took us on a magical Beatle Tour around the streets of Liverpool. Thank you Paul, for sharing your knowledge and passion with us. A very informative and memorable adventure through Liverpool with plenty of anecdotes and a great presentation tying it all together. Cheers Paul. Kieran & Chris.
Mike was a great guide, very knowledgeable and passionate about his subject, he made the tour very interesting and informative.
Our tour leader, Mike was a published author on the Beatles and very knowledgeable about Liverpool generally. He did a fabulous job!
Mike was an excellent guide - very knowledgable. We learned so much about the Beatles as we walked around Liverpool with him. Great tour!!
Mike was an amazing guide, very knowledgeable, funny and full of stories about the Beatles. I highly recommend him!
Our guide had a full knowledge of Beatles history and lore coupled with a good understanding of Liverpool.
This was such a great tour! Mike was so well versed in not only every aspect of Beatles history, but also incredible knowledge about Liverpool in general. Every person on the tour, from young to old, thoroughly enjoyed the experience!
There were 10 of us in our group and we had Paul as our guide for two and a half hours. He is a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic Beatles fan and we gained a wealth of interesting information from him, told with amusement and in a very friendly manner. I felt like we got some fascinating inside stories and connections. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and recommend it highly.
Great tour provided by Allen! Informative and interesting. He provided information about the Beatles and the city too! After the tour we joined him for a beer at a bar that use to be a small prison! It was enjoyable and he had a great sense of humor!
Stories were ok. Not a whole lot of exciting sights to see. We could have spent our time doing something else.
Tour was very good but didn't appreciate the guide naking constant disparaging remarks about the leader of my country
Oh what a wonderful tour this was! My apologies for getting this in so late! I just found Phil's card, which reminded me that I hadn't submitted a review. So additional apologies to Phil. My wife and I were making our first trip to Liverpool, as long time fans of The Beatles. Despite it being a rainy day when we started out, Phil led us on a great tour of places associated with The Beatles. It was a truly nostalgic tour, especially seeing the site of the NEMS store, Mathew Street, the Cunard Building, and the White Star Pub. Phil even pointed out Queen Vic's "knob", which we went back later to see and get a photo from a better angle! Many thanks to Phil for a most enjoyable, entertaining, and informative tour! Mike & Carla
I went on the tour today with Mike and I had a great time! We started off at the Bluecoat Chambers in School Lane, a great meeting point and a beautiful historic building. It was easy to find and Mike made me feel very welcome. The walking tour was a little over 2 hours long and this was just perfect for me. Mike was full of rare pieces of information. I consider myself fairly knowledgeable about the Beatles but I really learned a lot on the tour today. Mike skillfully answered any and all questions that myself and the rest of the group had including some rare information about the medals worn by John Lennon on the cover of the Sergeant Peppers album. He also had a story for every corner on the tour and obviously has a lot of passion for the Beatles music and also the story behind the music and the band. Thank you Mike and Purple Tours Liverpool for a great afternoon! Highly recommended.
Allan did an absolutely amazing tour that my wife and I enjoyed immensely. It was a nice blend of 90% Beatles and 10% history. Allan is quite knowledgeable, humorous and seems sincerely interested in his subject and the times. One of our best tours ever.
Tourguide Simon gave an interesting and very informative walk. Lots of bits about the Fab Four, fill-ins to what I've known about them since the early 60s. Loved walking in their neighborhood, a Beatle fan's dream! I'd recommend "the purple guy" to anyone who wants a comprehensive look at The Beatles "Liddypool," as John once called it. Well worth the time!
This is an experience not to be missed if you have memories of The Beatles. Mike was an outstanding guide and narrator. Over two hours he took us on the most magical history tour of the Fab Four. It was simply THE BEST!
Simon was the BEST tour guide! His knowledge of all things Beatles and music in general was absolutely impressive! The time flew by… so engaging and entertaining!
It is special in regard to anecdotes and historical facts about the Beatles not usually known but no inside visits.
Did this tour on 10th August (possibly 11th!) with my husband Andrew. Fantastic tour, really informative and fun. Our guide Roy was totally fabulous. Apologies to him for late review! Thoroughly recommend doing this, especially if you're a fan!
Wow, what a tour - we absolutely loved it! Our guide was Phil who was beyond brilliant - kind, caring, humorous, professional and very knowledgeable. We learnt so many facts & interesting snippets of information about The Beatles - cannot recommend this tour highly enough. Huge thank you to Phil! Your new friends from Norwich. PS we were doing our own driving tour along Penny Lane the day after our tour and actually think we saw you walking along the street! Small world.
Carl did a great job. Showed us spots we would’ve walked right past if we were on our own. Lots of beatles knowledge which was very interesting.
In depth history of the Beetles and the town of Liverpool. Simon was a fantastic guide giving insight to the Beetles phenomenon
Great tour (even in the light rain 😊). Paul our tour guide was so knowledgeable, great speaker, funny and fun, he was the best. Pace of the walk was perfect for all. We saw all the Beatles spots and Paul provided the history of the spot. Small tour group and Paul insured everyone was involved and having a great time. Please do this tour, you will love it.
My waking tour was with Allan, and it was absolutely excellent! Allan was a great and extremely knowledgeable tour guide of all things Liverpool and The Beatles! The walking pace was relaxed and Allan was very engaging throughout. Highly recommended! Thank you, Allan!
Great tour. Our guide Mike has amazing knowledge about the city and the Beatles. The time for the entire tour was perfect. Highly recommended.
Our guide , Alan, was witty, knowledgeable and funny. The city walking tour, was well worth the money paid. The groups are small, and it is a stroll around all the places that would interest a Beatles fan. I would recommend this tour to anyone.
Simon was our guide and he was fantastic. So knowledgeable about the history of the Beatles and a lot of fun facts. Would highly recommend this tour. Excellent excursion for Beatles fans!
Absolutely fantastic Beatles walking tour around Liverpool. Mike was brilliant — incredibly knowledgeable, funny and genuinely enthusiastic about the Beatles and the city. He brought the history to life with loads of interesting stories and facts, and you could tell he really enjoys what he does. A great way to see the Beatles’ Liverpool and learn more about their story. I’d definitely recommend this tour to any Beatles fan, and Mike was a fantastic guide.
Tracey Halverson was our tour guide. What a fantastic experience! She is talented, knowledgeable and fun to be with. Go learn about the Beatles and have a great time!!
Simon was a very knowledgeable guide who inspired us with his passion for the Beatles. He encouraged questions, made it fun and we came away with a new and deeper understanding of the phenomenon that was the Beatles and their lasting cultural and musical relevance.
