We only ate here when meeting family. While the food was nice it was not exceptional. TBH it didn't live up to the expectation that the rest of the hotel promised. With parts of the dish replaced with nondescript plain items lacking flavour and a poor excuse for its reason along with a head waiter that simply said "I am sorry it offended you" ??????? We left full but not impressed.
Dismal Sunday lunch – kitchen chaos. Visited friends in Blackpool and booked the private dining room for Sunday lunch, expecting a nice meal. It was an absolute disaster from start to finish. After a long wait for drinks and ordering, we sat for an hour only to be told the pate wasn't fit to serve. The kitchen was essentially out of food: only one chicken breast left, and after being served lamb instead of the beef I ordered, I was told there was no beef left either. I had to settle for fish and chips, which arrived long after most of my friends had already finished eating. The only positive was our waitress, who was lovely, apologised profusely, and provided complimentary drinks while taking my meal off the bill. However, good front-of-house service can't fix a failing kitchen. My friends were planning to book the private room for Christmas, but that certainly won't be happening now. We left for dessert elsewhere and won't be returning
My husband and I are happy to leave a review following our wedding reception at The Villa. The venue was beautiful and great care and attention was given to the layout and presentation of the Hall. The sit-down wedding breakfast was superb - many of our guests commented on how delicious, well cooked and well presented it was. Nikita and the staff are worthy of special mention, as they were professional, attentive and so friendly and helpful, both during organisation of the event and especially on the day. They helped make our wedding day so very special! I’m happy to recommend the Villa if you’re considering it as a wedding venue! The hotel rooms are also freshly decorated and very comfortable for anyone planning to stay!
The Villa is a beautiful old building and is the perfect setting for a wedding. With both inside and outside seating areas, there is a lovely calm feeling around the venue. We were guests at a wedding and everything was organised and friendly. We went straight to the bar then waited and waited. There was 1 member of staff doing her best to serve everyone but with approximately 10 people waiting to be served we did seem to wait an awful long time before it was our turn. The other (larger) bar in another room was similar, approx 25-30 people waiting to buy drinks but not enough staff to serve them I'm pretty sure that the wedding was booked well in advance so surely the staffing levels should have been sorted. This was the only thing that let the venue down. Beautiful building, superb surroundings, friendly staff but just not enough of them.
Just back from a fantastic couple of days away at this hotel. After a few teething problems which were more to do with Hotels.com than the hotel but the hotel sorted we had a lovely couple of days here. The manager Caitlyn is fantastic, friendly, warm and professional. Her customer service is amazing and definitely a credit to the hotel. We were lucky to stay in the newly refurbished rooms which are both in keeping but modern and comfortable. Breakfast was very nice as was fresh and filling staff at breakfast worked hard to make sure everyone was happy. We ate in the hotel one night, for me the choice was great but rest of group felt more meat dishes were needed along with a better wine selection but the service by Lily was excellent and the gentleman at the bar really knew his bar and drinks. The hotel is under refurbishment but did not cause us any issues. You genuinely feel in the middle of no where but you are only a few miles (approx £7 in an Uber) from Lytham. Surrounding area is peaceful and just gorgeous. All in all a fabulous stay made even better by Caitlyn, Lily and all the staff.
