The Shankly Hotel

The hotel is located in a superb location, it has a huge roof top and it looks great on photos. Unfortunately that’s where the positives stop, hugely disappointed with our room and the general condition of the hotel. Clearly after years of hen and stag abuse they need a HUGE makeover. 2 out of the 3 beds in our room had essentially collapsed, the seedy hottub style bath with shower over it along with the basin were cracked and dirty. The soft furnishings around the room including those attached to walls were very worn and over used I don’t even want to know what for. Needless to say we won’t be returning and we won’t be recommending. It’s such a shame as I visited 10 years ago and was looking forward to the return

Came for a hen weekend. From start to finish it was a fab experience. The rooms were great, a little wear and tear and our bathroom flooded a little but overall, lovely big air conditioned room with beautiful decor and comfy beds. We had a kitchenette with a fridge. We had the hen package which included breakfast which was decent and plentiful. Evening meal, bottomless brunch and cocktail making class. Amazing value, we really enjoyed it all! Staff were so friendly even under pressure. The bottemless brunch was so much fun. It was noisy at night but we were part of it lol. Thanks for a memorable weekend ❤️

Second return to this hotel and it did not disappoint. Swift check in and a lovely clean room. Lovely atmosphere and vibe throughout the hotel. Big special thank you to the fairy god mothers who assist with breakfast- great team nothing too much trouble. Endless refill of tea or coffee and always manage to have a little chat with every table despite being busy. Those ladies are a credit to the hotel team.

In August 2025 myself and my husband had our big day at the Shankly Hotel in Liverpool. I have to say the service from start to finish was second to none, they listened to all of our wishes in the planning process and incorporated everything we wanted, they were open and communicated so well throughout the whole planning process including meetings at the hotel with our wedding coordinator (Lauren, who deserves a special shout out), menu tasting, venue viewing and just general enquiries we had. On the day I was so nervous about everything coming together however the staff on the day handled absolutely everything to perfection - no task was too big or small and the whole team made sure our day was perfect and everything ran smoothly. Absolutely everything was organised and taken care of so we didn’t have a single stress on the day besides the nerves of actually getting married. We had so many people compliment our day telling us it’s the best wedding they ever attended and the location and venue was fantastic and the drinks were reasonably priced. Our bridal suite on the wedding night was the most stunning room and we were welcomed to the room with a congratulatory note and bottle of champagne. We honestly could not fault the Shankly hotel venue and wedding team in anyway it was the most perfect day from start to finish and we honestly wish we could do it all over again.
