*** AVOID AT ALL COSTS*** Don’t be fooled by the 5/5 reviews. They were likely written by fellow victims—sorry, guests—who took the owner up on his "leave immediately for a full refund but don’t leave me a negative review" extortion policy. Let’s begin… We arrived to a warm welcome from a heavily intoxicated young man nearly taking out our car, before he proceeded to hurl his bicycle onto the roof of the adjacent yellow building (apartment 10 we think). Since the cycling acrobat wasn’t the owner’s fault, we moved inside. We had booked for three adults and one child, but were greeted by a single bed in the lounge and the smallest double bed known to mankind. After the mandatory phone call to the owner (who argued we’d booked incorrectly until we slapped down the screenshots), we were sent up to Apartment 5. Away from the drunk family, the blasting music, and the overwhelming aroma of herbal remedies, it seemed idyllic. If only we knew. The bunk-bed room possessed an obscene, inexplicable stench. By the next afternoon, we solved the mystery: stuffed under the bed with some rubbish was a pair of children’s shorts left behind by a previous occupant of the room who had clearly suffered a major bathroom accident. The smell was overpowering. To top it off, we pulled back the bedsheet to find a mattress covered in a massive urine stain. Around 1:00 AM on our first night, two fire alarms and a heat alarm decided it was their time to shine, emitting a lovely intermittent beep throughout the night. Not wanting to disturb anyone else's sleep, We waited until 8:30 AM to call the owner. Apparently, this was a tactical error; he berated us for not waking him at 2:00 AM. He showed up before work and "fixed" the issue by completely ripping the detectors out. They just needed new backup batteries. Nope—whipped them straight out. A massive health and safety hazard, but hey, who needs fire alarms? When we brought up the biohazard smell under the bed, his customer service response was a charming: “What do you want then?” He offered a full refund on the condition that we pack up and leave immediately and not leave a negative review. I was with my wife, our two-year-old, and my mother-in-law. It was Blackpool Pride weekend—finding last-minute accommodation was going to be tough. He refused a partial refund, blaming Booking.com “taxes and fees” We risked it and stayed, praying that a fire wouldn't break out while we slept. On Saturday night, my wife and I went to the Winter Gardens to see Beverley Knight (who was excellent). We got back to the apartment late that night, so it wasn't until Sunday morning that we caught up with my mother-in-law, who had reached breaking point. She told us she'd had a heated conversation with the owner the night before. While putting my daughter to bed in the middle bunk, she realised half the wooden slats were completely missing, and the mattress was bulging through the gap. My daughter literally had to be scooped out of a collapsing bed. When confronted, the owner accused us of trying to scam a “free vacation.” Absolutely not. We work hard day in, day out, just to afford these little breaks. We just expected a clean, safe environment. The owner’s final, bizarre defence was that we should just enjoy our holiday because he is 54, is in ill health, and can’t enjoy holidays himself. While I sympathise with his health, I’m not entirely sure what his medical history has to do with the biohazard state of his accommodation. I could drop dead tomorrow—does that mean I get a discount? Swings and roundabouts. The owner was aggressive, rude, dismissive, and had a defensive answer for everything. Blackpool gets a bad reputation, and it’s entirely down to rogue operations like this. In the wise words of a famous singer: “Please, please, please” do not spend your hard earned money here. You’ll get a “House Tour” with all the room swapping. ** the booking was not made under my name before the owner accuses this of being false or fake. Booking have refunded in full.
Fantastic apartment (no3), extremely clean, spotless and cosy! Great location, Great manager and a very helpful cleaner 😊 looking forward to staying here again after a fabulous break here in Blackpool. Such a friendly and welcoming place. Thank you Altin and staff.
Was a really enjoyable stay. Had an issue with heating but it was the boiler turning off and the manager came out within 15 mins with a portable heater untill he fixed it which he did!! He came back half hour later heating fixed and refunded us the difference in the meter for the costs of it being on. He is lovely and don’t be afraid to ask for help he is very approachable and will do what he can to help!! Will definitely be booking again (apartment 9) Was spotless and very comfortable appliances easy to use and cleaning supply’s. There if you need them.
Close to shops especially as I had to keep topping up meter which cost me more than £1.50 per day. Kitchen had all appliances but no instructions on how to use very modern electric stove which I had to get someone to turn one twice during my stay. Bed comfortable. Close to tram stop which takes you into Pleasure beach. The shower was disgusting, very dirty. It got very cold at nights but electric heater was available costing more on meter. The gentleman who came out was very friendly and helpful and took criticism well. For convenient it's great location and overall great apartment but shower heads need changing and water pressure needs increasing ASAP
