Raffles Hotel

New owners took over in july, at that time it was great standards were the same, but upon my visit on monday, it was nothing short of disgraceful, 2 people running everything, the cleanliness was terrible and breakfast was cold, front door always closed so not very welcoming, we have been going for years with the previous owners and they ran it as a boutique b&b everything home made, pancakes and breakfast to die for, unfortunately this is far from how it is now, pre packaged pancakes hard as a rock, beans thick sloppy and cold, scrambled eggs dry and cold, cups that were in my mums room were dirty, rooms thick with dust, and you can only pre order breakfast now which isnt great considering you might get up in the morning and not want what you ordered the day before. The first morning we were told breakfast was at 9am, we came down just after 8.30, reception and dining room was in darkness, the lady came out rubbing her eyes saying she had just woke up, not very professional at all, and quite frankly embarrassing, breakfast was disgraceful and beans were thick with dark bits in it, it had looked like they had been re heated from the previous day, dirty teapots given to us and the tea was freezing cold. no longer get a rack of toast in the morning, and no choice of white or brown toast with your breakfast, my mum had given too much money upon checking in, and when she asked the lady to check she said the host who took the money was sleeping, he was rarely seen while we stayed there, granted she did check the till and had given her the money she was owe, for £80 a night i would not recommend and we wont be returning again.

We had a very pleasant stay at Raffles. Lovely Breakfast, with a good choice , Comfortable Beds and a great Location. We would choose this B&B again if we are ever in the area

Lovely hotel! So very clean and well looked after. The small touches make the difference. Breakfast filling and very well cooked. Staff friendly and informative upon arrival and always ready to help. Great view of the tower from here so excellent location too! We will be returning!

Had a lovely time at Raffles hotel. Service was outstanding, they couldn't do enough to make our stay perfect. Breakfast was an excellent standard. Good location close to town, piers, beach and tower. Would recommend.
