A great hotel for a business stay. Easy to find, with ample parking and spacious rooms. The staff were friendly and the service was good throughout. The restaurant menu is small but sufficient, with good quality food, and breakfast offers all the essentials to a good standard. The takeaway coffee cups are a thoughtful touch for an early start. There are also local restaurants nearby. The unique setting in the former airport building adds plenty of character. Would happily stay again.

The hotel has a fantastic location .It is a walking distance from the New Mersey shopping park which offers a wide selection of restaurants. The hotel’s reception had a lovely interior with its design having a 1920s look. This definitely gave the hotel a nice touch. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the rest of the building. Only as we arrived at the hotel were we informed about the AC being broken in the guest bedrooms. As we entered our room, the lack of circulation was overwhelming. That was just the beginning. Our first night felt like being in a blast furnace. We barely got any sleep despite a fan being provided and the windows being opened. I could only imagine the struggle if we had been to the hotel two weeks ago. Whilst our bathroom had an elegant marble flooring, its sanitary fixtures were in dire need of replacing. The toilet looked like it hadn’t been deep cleaned in months, resulting in an unpleasant brown stain. The bathtub was more or less the same. The shower curtains were collecting dirt at the bottom as well. Our fridge wasn’t working, so we weren’t able to refrigerate our beverages. We were only provided two cans of water despite booking our room for four people. Dirty plates from another guest’s room service were not collected for over an entire day despite signs of staff being present within the corridors. Breakfast was very chaotic. Our first day left us waiting for a while to be checked in. The food was mediocre overall and it also wasn’t as warm as we expected. The coffee machine only worked on day three of our four night stay. On our last day, we were greeted with no forks on our table, resulting in my daughter having to grab her own cutlery for my family as none was provided upon our request. This lasted in a five minute wait before proceeding to eat cold eggs. Dirty bowls and plates were pilled up on windowsills for God knows how long. The hotel appears to be understaffed. There also seems to be some bigger underlying issues within the hotel system. The swimming pool was a very nice addition to what was a difficult stay. The process was smooth and we had a great splash. Overall, our stay was very disappointing. The hotel has seen some better days and is in serious need of TLC. You’d think the hotel being named after John Lennon would provide a better experience.
This hotel is an absolute dump, yet they feel £150 for one night is acceptable! The check in process was a mess, there was one person running the bar and reception, the queue was out the door and round the corner and took about 2 hours! The AC was turned off, and the temp in our room was over 30 degrees on a very hot day, and the fans they supplied were useless! Disgustingly, our bathroom was infested with flies!!! They were everywhere, all bunched up on the walls and on the glasses, taps, in the toilet, bath etc!! Also, when we initially got to our replacement room, there was left over food outside somebodies room. The next day, over 24 hours later, it was still there, covered in flies!!! The staff are not at fault as they were doing everything they could, it is just terribly ran. The only good thing is its proximity to the airport, if you happen to have a flight. Other than that, it was the worse hotel I have ever stayed in.
The hotel is in a great location. It was the old airport terminal and is a very good art deco style building. The check in was quick but when we got to the room the power sockets didn't work and we had to be moved. Forty five minutes later we had moved rooms. We went down to dinner but this was a disaster as apparently the supplier had let the hotel down and there were virtually no food options. At 9pm we went over the road to the retail park and had dinner in Wagamama. The air conditioning had broken down a few days before we arrived and after a 3 day stay it still wasn't fixed. There were fans in the room but these were not great. The hotel interior is excellent and the premium king room was spacious. A few improvements would really help to make this hotel so much better.
WARNING - NO AIR CONDITIONING for all of 2026 May 23rd - worst hotel experience I have ever had. Despite booking a two-night stay, we were forced to leave after the first night due to unacceptable conditions and a complete lack of professional customer service. The Issues: Temperature & Facilities: After paying for our full stay, management informed us that the air conditioning was non-functional. Despite "mild" weather outside, our room reached 82 degrees Fahrenheit and stayed there all night. The room itself was outdated, dirty, and not maintained to even a 1-star standard. Customer Service: When I requested to cancel the second night (willingly forgoing a refund for the miserable first night just to avoid staying a second), the front desk agent—a male in his late 20s or early 30s—was extremely rude. He flatly refused to discuss the matter or authorize a refund for the unused night. Widespread Failure: I was the third person in line at the front desk all attempting to cancel future nights due to the heat and poor conditions. One was told that "the air conditioning would be out until the end of this year". Refund Dispute: I booked through Priceline/Booking.com. When Booking.com reached out to the hotel to resolve the dispute, the hotel again refused to refund the second night, despite their inability to provide a room at a safe or comfortable temperature. This property is poorly managed and clearly struggling with significant maintenance issues they are failing to disclose until after guests have paid. Save your money and stay elsewhere.
