Fabulous food tour with Carlos! All of the stops were off the beaten path, so we tried true Portuguese meals covering the history of Portuguese food. Very delicious and lots of historical information. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves to try traditional food!!

Itinerary
Along this iconic street, you'll learn about the rich history of Moorish influence in Lisbon. Also known for its traditional restaurants and theaters, it reflects the city’s classic dining culture and vibrant atmosphere.
Step into a no-frills tavern where regulars have gathered for decades. You'll try a fireman's chorizo and a warm bifana pork sandwich, paired with a glass of wine or beer while your guide sets the scene for the tour ahead.
Pass through Largo de São Domingos, one of Baixa's oldest squares, framed by a church whose history stretches back centuries. Your guide points out the marks that fires, earthquakes and revolutions have left on this corner of the city.
Duck into Lisbon's longest-running Mozambican kitchen, where recipes trace centuries of trade between Portugal and East Africa. Sample Portuguese samosas alongside a glass of wine or beer, a taste of the city's more surprising side.
Walk through Mouraria, one of Lisbon’s oldest neighborhoods and the birthplace of Fado Music. Explore its narrow streets, rich multicultural spirit, and discover a back lane filled with striking murals, which celebrate local residents and the area’s living history.
Settle into a traditional Fado House with deep roots in Lisbon's fado tradition, where you'll try a chilled octopus salad and 'Bacalhau à Brás', Portugal's beloved shredded cod and egg dish, paired with a glass of wine or beer (live performance not included).
Arguably one of the best viewpoints of the city, overlooking Lisbon’s downtown area and Tagus river (not included in all departure times).
A Portuguese food tour would not be complete without their most famous pastry, the pastel de nata! This custard tart with a crackling caramelized top is best enjoyed in one perfect bite.

Carlos! You were so entertaining and got so much more that we could imagine. Thank you. We really loved the wines and the food!
Great experience. Plenty of wine and food. A wonderful few hours.
Carlos was amazing, very knowledgeable and welcoming. Would do it again.
Carlos was a fantastic guide. He showed his passion for the food and history of the city. I would recommend this tour to anyone coming to Lisbon. I’ve been on food tours before and this one was very good. You get a nice taste of all of the local dishes. (Hola mamá de Carlos!)
Good pace, loved the Mom and Pop locations. Carlos was very knowledgeable. Offered interesting city history. Happy to propagate traditional historical foods and restaurants of Lisbon.
We had an excellent time on this tour. Leonor provided very interesting history on the various neighborhoods and food we were lucky enough to try. Everything we ate and drank was delicious. I would highly recommend this tour.
Our guide, Leo (Leonor), was fantastic. So knowledgeable and fun - we had a blast! There was plenty to eat and drink (the samosas and freshly baked pastel de Nata were particular treats, as were the Fado and cherry liquor). There was one steep staircase (by Toronto standards…) but Leo stopped and shared interesting tidbits about the neighbourhood so we had a chance to catch our breath lol I would highly recommend this tour - particularly with her as you guide.
Good food, little walking, good company.
I learned a lot, laughed a lot, and the time flew by. The food was absolutely delicious, and the whole tour was great value for money. I’d happily do it again and would recommend it to anyone. 5 out of 5 stars!
It was awesome and tasty. Recommend.
Leonor was fantastic. We have a fabulous variety of food and drink and she provided just the right amount of information and guidance. Highly recommend!
Great tour! David was very knowledgeable and did a great job sharing local history with the food experience. Highly recommend!!
Leonor is a fabulous guide. Thank you, Leonor, for helping us to experience delicious, authentic Portuguese food that we on our own would never have experienced.
We had a great experience. The stops were wonderful. Mixed venues with a smattering of great food and beverage options. David, our guide, was equal parts comedian, historian, and foodie… Truly a memorable travel experience… Absolutely worth the money and the time!
David was awesome, knowledgeable, entertaining. Highly recommend tour company and mostly David!
Such a fantastic day. Thank you David!!
Fantastic tour with David - he has a great sense of humour and deep knowledge of the city. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour, the different dishes, and I left full!
The good. Joana was great, very personable. Her knowledge of the city and neighborhoods we were traversing through was very insightful. The Fado at the end was enjoyable. The bad. I was so excited for this food tour, in the end I was pretty dissatisfied and disappointed. The food tour was essentially little snacks/appetizers paired with beer and wine. Bit size. The food selections was so limited and not entirely encompassing of Portuguese favorites. For the first time in my travels I was still hungry from a food tour. Not worth the value. It's great for people that just want to drink for the night.
Gabriel was a fantastic tour guide. You could tell he genuinely enjoyed giving the tour. The overall food tour was amazing. It was definitely a full meal with a great cultural lesson. Great way to start your Lisbon adventure!
Carlos was an amazing tour guide! We learned so much about the food and the city. I’d highly recommend anyone to do this tour especially if you get Carlos!
We had an absolute blast! Carlos was very knowledgeable and took us places we would have never gone and been able to explore without him.
Incredible tour, the perfect way to start explore Lisbon. Carlos was amazing, his knowledge was outstanding standing. I can’t recommend Carlos in his tour enough. Thank you! 🙏🏴
My absolute favorite tour on this trip. Leonor was a fantastic guide, so knowledgeable and passionate about food and the history of Lisbon. I enjoyed each of our stops. The food and wine/beer/juice selections were varied and perfectly awesome. She gave us great tips and tricks for choosing restaurants. Unfortunately, this is my last day in Lisbon, but I certainly will be using her picks when I visit again next year.
We had a great tour with Leo. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. She had a great personality and helped navigate us through the tour and shared many stories and history with us along with taking us to great restaurants. The portions were a lot bigger than we expected and overall it was a great experience. Highly recommend Leo and the tour!!!
Excellent way to learn a little bit about Portuguese history and the secret places for good food and wine

Such a wonderful tour! Gabi was a fantastic guide and really enjoyed all the stops he took us to. We loved the variety of foods tried and the portion sizes were very generous-as was the wine and beer! Would definitely recommend!!
Amazing. Ton of food and wine. Gabi was amazing, fun and funny. Lots of walking. But had to burn off the calories.
Eating Europe in Lisbon was one of the highlights of our 3-day visit to this amazing city. Our tour guide, Carlos, was a lot of fun and super knowledgeable about Portugal's cuisine and culture. He walked us through some interesting and colorful neighborhoods and took us to a nice variety of places with different kinds of food. The dishes and wines were excellent and abundant. At our first stop, they served Bifana, a traditional Portuguese sandwich made of marinated pork and a light green wine. Because I don't eat pork, they offered me a calamari steak sandwich or a chicken sandwich. The calamari steak sandwich was really good. At our second stop, they served chicken, beef, and vegetarian samosas with a variety of really nice sauces. To drink we had Super Bock beer and a white wine from Lisbon. At our third stop, we had Bacalhau à Brás (classic shredded salted cod sautéed with onions and matchstick potatoes), octopus salad, and local red and white wines. By our fourth stop, we were feeling pretty relaxed and nearly full and enjoyed gazpacho, deep fried croquette, and Serradura (a layered dessert made of condensed milk and finely crushed tea biscuits). We topped of the tour with a delicious Pastel de Nata (traditional Portugese egg custard). Our guide and fellow travelers who we just met on the tour, the walks, restaurants, and neighborhoods all made for a really enjoyable and memorable visit to Lisbon. This was our first tour with Eating Europe and we plan to use them on visits to other European cities.
Johanna was fantastic as a host. It was difficult to hear sometimes as there was a lot of noise around.
This is much more than a food tour. You visit out of the way places, learn lots about Lisbon - and taste great food and wine! I hope you get Gabriel - best guide ever!
Joanna was so knowledgeable about Lisbon and the food and wine was delicious.
