We had the 4 hr walking tour with Filipe, excellent guide, very friendly, knowledgeable and informative. The would help they recommend this tour and guide.

My family of three just completed this walking tour and it was incredible. We learned so much about the Alfama section of Lisbon, and thanks to an extremely knowledgeable and friendly tour guide (Rui), we were able to meander comfortably through the narrow and often hilly streets with ease. We saw so much of this unique section of the city, and would not have been able to accomplish this on our own. Loved our tour guide Rui and highly impressed with his knowledge base and his willingness to discuss all of our questions. Would highly recommend this to anyone in order to learn about such a historic section of Lisbon. Can’t say enough about the intellect, wealth of knowledge, and kindness of our guide Rui.
Andrey was so knowledgeable of Portugal & wanted to make sure we understood the history behind his country. My mom & I could could feel the pride he took in Lisbon & the neighborhoods within.
The guide Andriy was really great, kind, and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed spending time with him and learning about the Alfama district, and Lisbon. We also liked the small group, there were only 6 guests.
English was amazing and in depth knowledge of history and present times was a joy to experience- all the information was in context for the entire group. Easy walk for the city. Guide was one of the best we have ever booked!!
Our tour Rui Fernandes of MyLisbonTours was amazing. He was incredibly knowledgeable, thorough and gave everyone ample time to view not rushing us in any way.
Andriy was a perfect guide. He met us where and when we expected and told us what the tour involved. He was friendly, knowledgeable and considerate. The walking was relatively easy and downhill although there were a number of steps. The area we walked through was fascinating and Andriy’s commentary was very interesting. Alfama is well worth seeing. The streets are narrow and intimate and there were no crowds, just local people. We had a snack in a small cafe. The tour ended in a very well known place by the water. We would recommend this tour.
All of it was interesting. My tour guide was excellent too. Very knowledgeable and shared a balance of detail and variety.
What a wonderful experience! Our Alfama Walking Tour was a personal and intimate one, the four of us, two couples traveling together, and our wonderful Guide Andriy. Andriy was interesting, informative and a pleasure to walk the streets of Alfama with. He was always open to questions and went beyond discussing the Alfama neighborhood we were walking thru, sharing with us his insights and experiences on life in Portugal. Andriy's English is excellent and his University education and passion for Portugese history, internation relations and economics shines thru. Any tour in Lisbon led by Andriy is tour to be taken.
Extremely knowledgeable and personable guide. Wonderful experience touring the best part of Lisbon. So glad I booked this! Worth every penny!
I loved learning about the history of Alfama and exploring the tiny alleys of this neighborhood. My tour guide, Andriy, was very knowledgeable about the history, culture, food, and traditions of this most historic district of Lisbon. His English was very good and he answered all my questions thoroughly and authoritatively. I would highly recommend this tour!
I thought this tour was enjoyable and my sister really enjoyed it. If you're walking to the meeting location it is VERY hilly so if you have any issues walking up many hills, I'd recommend getting a taxi or other form of transportation. Aside from that, the tour was almost entirely downhill (with the exception of one or two smaller hills). The tour guide was very knowledgeable and was able to speak about historic Portugal and Alfama, and also modern day Portugal/Lisbon. It was a small group (only 4 of us), which made it even more enjoyable. I really appreciated how they reached out the day before to share a picture of the tour guide and details of where to meet him so it was easy to find the meeting location. It was also great that the guide reached out on WhatsApp to connect right before the tour so we could find him easily. My only small critique is that because our tour was on a Saturday, the guide took us to a large street sale/market to walk through, and I can't say I was really phased by it (we didn't have time to shop and I would have preferred skipping it, but that's just me!). Other than that, I thought it was a great tour!
Our guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the area, as well as the culture and community. I highly recommend this tour.
Andre was an absolutely amazing guide. He was so knowledgeable about Alfama and shared so much information with us. We especially enjoyed the stories that you don’t normally read about in history books. He brought Alfama to life and took us down winding alleys where we could see the everyday life of the people who have lived in the area for generations. It was a fascinating experience.
The guide was extremely knowledgeable. This was onebof the best small group tours we have ever taken.
Excellent walking tour. We are a family of four, with two young children (8 and 5), and Andriy our guide was very accomodating. He is a wealth of information and knows the area well. Starting in the Graça neighborhood and walking down into Alfama, we saw several of the beautiful old churches and the handpainted tile work Portugal is famous for. Andriy explained much of the history surrounding the area and was happy to go at our pace. We even stopped for slushies at a small restaurant and then another quick stop for some ginjinha in Alfama for my wife and I 😁. Alfama is a beautiful neighborhood with tight streets and lots of character. Highly recommend this tour if you're in Lisbon.
Our guide was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the city and churches.
This was our second tour with My Lisbon tours with the guide being Andriy. Andriy is a very knowledgeable and thoughtful guide who took time through the details of Alfama and the old churches within. Like his partner Rui, he is one of the better guides I’ve had on walking tours. He even showed us some extra sights and places to eat after the tour was over at no extra cost or worries. Alfama is a very unique beautiful area of the city and my wife and I were glad to see it so thoroughly. I would highly rec the tour and the guides to anyone who visits Lisbon
This tour is worth it, especially if you are a solo traveller who wants to have a memorable trip. Rui is an expert in his craft, he is very informative and caters to my questions without hesitations. There would be a lot of things I would never know or appreciate without his guide. He will also take beautiful photos of you as I am a solo traveller and I was the only one in the tour. Truly a memorable experience!
The small group Alfama Walking Tour was very good and informative. I really enjoyed this 3 hour walk.
Andriy was a great guide of Alfama. We signed up for a group tour but ended up getting a private tour. He was knowledgeable and able to talk about Portugal, far beyond Alfama.
The smalll group walking tour of Alfama was everything we had hoped for. Our guide, Andriy, was easy to get along with and very knowledgeable about the rich history, customs and cultures that make up Alfama special. The tour had more the feeling of old friends getting reacquainted then a guide and his clients. Thank you Andriy for making our trip to Lisbon memorable.
We had our walking tour of Alfama with Rui in the afternoon of the 08th of November, we also had an arranged transfer through the same company from our hotel. Rui was very informative and his knowledge of Lisbon as a whole was very impressive. Rui lets the group move and ask questions at its own pace, there is no pressure which is why the afternoon was the highlight of our short trip to Lisbon for my family. We took our 18 month old daughter with us and Rui was very helpful with the route and surroundings regarding safety for her. I would definitely recommend and would use this company again on my next visit. Thank you.
I so enjoyed my Alfama tour with Rui. I was the only client on the tour as the others who had signed up, cancelled. As a solo traveling woman, I appreciate these tours that give me a good orientation to the city I’m traveling in. The morning with Rui felt like being shown around by a good friend. He customized my tour to show me parts of the Lisbon I had not yet explored. The highlight was seeing much of Lisbon’s street art and learning about the artists and their subject matter. Rui provided an extensive history in addition to sharing conversation and opinion that I much appreciated. I so enjoyed the walk and talk! I highly recommend My Lisbon Tours for anyone looking to deepen their perspective of Lisbon.
We did the Alfama walking tour with Rui, and we enjoyed it so much that we asked him to take us to visit Sintra and Cascais. This was even better than expected! Need I say more? Rui has an extensive knowledge of many subjects and he is able to share it with his visitors in an interesting, accessible and engaging way. We covered so many topics and learnt so much from him. Rui also made us feel very welcome and was ever attentive to our comfort and interests. Wonderful tours with a brilliant guide!
A brilliant way to get your bearings and start your adventure in Lisbon. We had Cheila as our guide and she was fabulous - I'd recommend her highly. Her knowledge was very good and she adapted the tour and info to suit us and she has a smiley and happy character. The time flew by and we had plenty of laughs along the way - and of course she was happy to take photos so we were all in them, and point out good spots from which to take them too. Well worth the money - wish we'd had time to do another one!
Our experience with Rui Fernandes and Ilundi at My Lisbon Tours was excellent. We arrived Sunday morning with a driver scheduled by Rui. We had a half day orientation with Llundi for the Baixa tour. Our first introduction to Lisbon was wonderful. Llundi provide so much information about the country and rich history, I am sure we exhausted her with our questions. She was so kind and professional. The next day we spent Rui as we scheduled a full day tour through Sintra and Cascais. Rui advised an 8 AM start as he pre-planned our entry to the Pena Palace with the open of the Palace. We were the first in line which we were very grateful for as we left by noon the buses and traffic into the Palace was amazing. So grateful for his advice on getting an early start. Rui had his private driver take us the the beach of Cascais where we had a wonderful lunch. We also went to the old city area where Rui continued to share with us the rich history of the area. Our last half day tour was the Alfama Walking tour where we walked through a lovely old city and had another lunch of Cuttle fish. Let me know if you have other questions. My only regret is I didn't add one more day for Rui to take us to Evora. Enjoy Lisbon Enjoy My Lisbon Tours
We spent a very informative and interesting afternoon with Rui in the Alfama district of Lisbon last Sunday . Rui is extremely knowledgeable not only about the history of Lisbon and Portugal but also European and British history. The tour helped us better understand the Moorish Alfama district, the geography of the city and we visited parts we definitely wouldn't have seen unless doing this tour. Well worth while doing early in your visit to Lisbon.
Highly recommend the walking tour with Rui, he was very knowledgeable about his city and history about the country, he allowed enough time for questions and made sure his tourist was comfortable the whole time, he frequently checked in and made sure we were doing okay. He even walked us towards our final destination to home or where we wanted to go. He did not just leave us in the middle of no where. Definitely great and trustworthy tour guide who knew the ins and outs of the city.
We chose this tour with Elvira after carrying out the Lisbon center tour. Stories, anecdotes, meetings with Alfama and its inhabitants... what about we came out enriched. Esperienza da provare!
Alfama is a magical place and the tour done with Elvira made it unforgettable. The alleys, streets and small squares are a place to get lost and wander
Great visit to the Alfama neighborhood from ARACELI. Very good explanations and charming. Highly recommended 👏👏
