Easy to coordinate and really neat castle. Loved the oeacocks!

Be careful! Very disappointing experience. The way Viator advertised this experience gave the clear impression that it was a guided tour. It became apparent that these were simply entrance tickets with no actual guide or guided experience. I am guessing this is not the first time someone has been misled as the tour operator made contact when I had already purchased and first thing he said in bold was guide not included. I asked for a refund which was refused Customers deserve clear and transparent information about what they are actually purchasing. Would not recommend.

The tickets can be bought in the website. Paying double for a free audio tour is not fair. After reservation is when a WhatsApp message shows up explaining that is not a tour. It is BOL tickets.

Great experience and phenomenal views from the wall walk - you won’t want to miss. Syed provided great insights for our time exploring the Castle.

The visit to the castle was wonderful. On Octobrr the 29th, Akber sent the tickets via WhatsApp, along with all the useful information to make entry easier, as well as a link for the audio guide. Truly efficient.

Syed was wonderful with communication through What's App. When we arrived we didn't see him due to a large bus in the way so we continued up the hill. After texting him telling him where we were, he walked up to meet us. He very carefully explained where to go and what to do once we went into the gates. He helped us (and other tourists who couldn't figure it out) scan out tickets to get in.

Akber was our agent and he was great! He helped us find where to meet as we were a little lost. Very patient. He not only helped us with the pass the line tickets but also gave us pointers on how best to visit the castle. It really made for a much better experience. We highly recommend TripAdvisor and Akber here in Lisbon!

Great panoramic views of Lisbon. Not much to see inside the fort. The audio guide was helpful. The museum was closed for renovation. It can be challenging to get to this hilltop location.

American credit cards were shut out due to a strike, but we got through with GetYourGuide and were inside the gate within minutes.

The castle was an interesting place. Very well maintained and easy to navigate. Beautiful views of river and Lisbon. Unfortunately the gift shop was closed

The service was very friendly; because I had booked the service, I didn't have to queue with others and got in quickly. Unless you're going to the castle very early in the morning, I recommend buying this service. They will send you an e-ticket and tour podcast in advance via WhatsApp, so you need to make sure the phone number you used for booking is registered with WhatsApp.

Syed was wonderful. He communicated well & met up with us at the entrance, got our tickets & provided us with a map of the castle & a free audio. The castle tour & the surroundings were very beautiful & we loved the peacocks roaming around the gardens. Thank-you Syed for a wonderful experience.

Book my reservation before leaving the US and there was no surprises or bad surprises. I got some good surprises. Akber contacted me a day before my reservation and gave me options to retrieve my ticket. I asked for it to be sent through What’sApp and within a few minutes I had it with very clear instructions and even pictures of what to look for and where to scan my ticket. It could not have been any easier. Also, they gave me an audio but the grounds were so beautiful that I opted to only listen to some and enjoy my time at Castelo De Sao Jorge. Enjoyed the self guided tour of Sao Jorge castle. Getting tickets online was very easy and instructions provided through WhatsApp we're very clear and easy to understand. We were able to skip the line and not waste any time waiting.

Easy and simple. Our guide met us at the entrance, gave us an overview and then we went on our self guided tour using the audio guide on our phone. We loved skipping the line!

Akber was an excellent guide. Communication, professionalism and knowledge were outstanding. He helped us get into the castle and set us up for the audio guide. He gave explicit directions and took his time. He was very friendly, too!

Syed was excellent. He kept us informed of options for collection of tickets and was very responsive with any questions. He met us as planned and gave us a briefing before giving us the audio guide and seeing us safely into the castle. Very smooth experience and would book again.

By City Lisbon tours was amazing. The night before at 21:00 all the literature was given by wats app we had a choice to receive this way or meet at the meeting point the next day . Wats app easier. All the information was amazing and made the trip so much easier and never missed anything out .

An excellent tour. The Viator representative reached out the morning of the visit and arranged for tour guide audio that we accessed on our cell phones. The narration was very informative and easy to understand. We spent about three hours in the castle grounds. I highly recommend this tour. Just a note, we visited in late September 2026 and the museum was closed for restroom renovations..

We had a great experience with Syed! He was very communicative and provided us with detailed, easy-to-follow instructions on how to get around Castelo de São Jorge, which made our visit much easier and more enjoyable. We especially appreciated the flexibility he offered. Instead of having to meet up in person, he gave us the option to simply have the tickets sent directly to us, which saved us a lot of time and made the whole process very convenient.

I got my ticket sent through WhatsApp quickly after booking along with very detailed instructions of where to go when I got to the castle and what to see when I was there to make the most of my experience. This was great as I was solo and reduced the stress of waiting in a long queue myself. I highly recommend!

The castle is well worth visiting and the views of the city are fantastic!

Bring your earphones to get the most out of this experience. There is a free audio tour that brings the castle alive. The operator texted the tickets the morning of the tour and we entered when it was convenient for our schedule. Skipping the line was worth the extra money. If we had to stand in the long line that was there when we arrived, we would not have gone in. The skip the line area was empty for us to walk right in. We were there 3 hours. It was definitely a highlight of Lisbon!

We booked skip the line tickets through Get your Guide. Akber contacted me the day before to make contact and see how we wished to collect our tickets. We did via WhatsApp, along with great instructions and pictures to access the grounds. This proved very useful on our first day in Lisbon and not being at all familiar with the city. Also a link to an audio tour, let me make sure I was set up to listen with ear buds before arriving. As we quite early, there weren't many people but a few hours later when we were leaving, the entry queue was long and the sun bright. We thoroughly enjoyed walking around the castelo and enjoyed lunch at the cafe. The artifacts section was closed for renovations, which Akber did advise us. I would recommend this tour.

Outstanding trip! I had the time incorrect and my Dad couldn’t walk up the hill very fast, but my guide was able to help us. The introduction, instructions and clarity was perfect. Thank you for the compassion and such a great welcome!

Our guide was in contact with us the morning of our tour. The meeting point was easy to find and close to Castelo de S. Jorge. Our guide, Abker, shared everything we needed to know plus some tips & tricks to help us navigate and see everything important. I recommend this skip the line tour because the queues were long to purchase tickets and the day was hot.
