We had a wonderful day trip to Sintra and felt it was absolutely worth the money! The tour was great value for the experience, especially as it made everything so hassle-free. We didn’t have to worry about waiting in long lines or purchasing tickets ourselves, which saved us a lot of time and stress. The pace of the tour was just right—not too rushed, with enough time to enjoy the sights while also avoiding the worst of the crowds. Our tour guide Andre was friendly, knowledgeable, and very informative, sharing interesting stories and insights that made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, a well-organized and enjoyable tour. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to explore Sintra comfortably and make the most of their day!

We took the small group Sintra tour, and it was a superb eight-hour tour. Our guide was Filipa. Don’t balk at the early start—it’s to beat the morning crowds at Pena Palace and Park. Also, adhere to Filipa's breakfast and lunch suggestions at Sintra. The two places she suggested for breakfast and lunch were outstanding. They were not tourist traps: the food was excellent, and the prices were excellent. This is definitely a must-do tour for your Lisbon visit. I also suggest you do it with this particular company because, as I found out, it is a small, family-owned company, and the tour guide was one of the owners.

Our day in Sintra with Andre of Portuguese for a Day Tours was the most amazing day trip I have ever had, and it was all about the guide. Andre is knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly cares about his business. He made the whole day very easy. He knows absolutely everyone at the castles, from the groundskeepers to security, and he knows the history of every part of them. He also knows exactly where to eat. On top of that, he speaks four languages and is an accomplished musician. The castles are absolutely gorgeous. One thing to know before you go: there is a lot of walking on hills, stairs, and steep cobblestone paths. If you're looking for a Sintra tour, I highly, highly recommend booking with Andre.

Filipa was an awesome, well-organized, knowledgeable and personable guide. She smartly got us to the Pena Palace before the rush and we were lucky to have a beautiful cloudless view from the castle. Quinta da Regaleira was also beautiful and worth the visit. It was a full day and provided the promised experience. If you are lucky enough to have a longer vacation you could easily spend a day exploring the grounds at each site.

Andre was a very knowledgeable guide. He promptly drove us to the Pina early to help avoid the crowds. This small group tour is the best. Andre is a gem. He's got the timing all figured out so you go through the whole tour efficiently. He keeps up with the energetic vibe all throughout. Very knowledgeable of history as well as the current Portugal. He offers great recommendations and very willing to share and help during rest of our stay.

Husband and I had an amazing time! André was a wonderful tour guide and extremely knowledgeable. We loved the itinerary of the tour and moments he let us explore freely. It was a plus that we were only a group of 6, so we enjoyed getting to learn about our other companions. I appreciated that this experience came with the entry tickets included to Pena and Regaleira already so we didn’t have to worry about that. Comfortable ride to Sintra and back. We walked up some steep roads, so comfortable shoes are definitely a must!! Overall we had so much fun and would highly recommend.

Filipa was a fantastic guide. Super knowledgeable and knew all the tips and tricks to get around and booked each group our own lunch reservation at a delicious local spot. We were very glad that we booked a tour rather than trying to go alone once we got there and saw the crowds. Regaleira is a must-see in Portugal, in my opinion. Absolutely stunning.

Raphael was an incredible guide on our tour of Estoril, Cascais, Cabo do Roca, and Sintra! He provided so much information and everything we learned about Quinta da Regaleira especially made the tour that much better. He even gave us recommendations for our lunch stop and for the rest of our stay in Lisbon. 1000% recommend him!

The tour was excellent. Our tour guide was very professional and well organised. Everything went smoothly. The tour guide even arranged a lunch reservation at a restaurant in Sintra, where the food was really good. It was busy, so if she hadn't arranged the reservation, we would have struggled to get in. The tour does involve climbing some pretty steep hills and generally involves a lot of walking, so unlikely to be suitable for anyone with health conditions.

Filipa is a wonderful guide. She is knowledgeable, with a very pleasant personality, and she was patient with our uphill walks.

Booked the Sintra Tour with Pena Palace and Regaleira All Tickets Included. Filipa was an amazing guide. She toured us through both locations giving us a nice history lesson along the way. There was a nice snack break for “pillow pastries” in between sites and lunch afterwards. No complaints about this trip. Loved not having to worry about the logistics of having to purchase tickets or knowing where to go. Be prepared for approx 4miles of walking.

A lovely tour of beautiful Sintra with Filipa. A wealth of history and information of both castles and plenty of time to explore the town on our own as well. Getting an early start gets you to Pena Palace before the hoards! A great day! Loved it.

This was a great tour, and I couldn't recommend it more highly. Our guide Andres was exceptional, and he definitely made for a fun and educational experience for our whole family. Sintra and all its palaces are very beautiful . . So worth checking out . . but I know we would not have appreciated it nearly as much without knowing the backstory behind all of it. Getting all these historical details from Andres really elevated the whole experience!! Plus, he knew all the "tricks" to avoid the lines (these get crazy) . . I just can't imagine trying to navigate all this on my own. I would give this tour a 10/10 for sure. A must do when in Lisbon!

Best way to see sintra! Tour Guide was awesome, knowledgeable, and steered us all the right ways for food and shopping. Got us to each site and specific times when crowds were at a minimum. We were literally like the third group at Pena Palace and got awesome photos without people in them

Communication prior to trip was good. Andre (our guide and company owner) was great. Picked us up as scheduled and made the 8 people on tour feel comfortable. His English is great and he is a wealth of knowledge about Pena Palace a Quinta da Regaleira. He had our tickets and we did lot have to wait in line. Learned a lot about both places. Made reservations for lunch so we could bypass another line. Visiting Sintra is not logistically easy and this is not a trip I would not organize on your own. Well worth it and had a great experience.

It was a truly perfect trip with Felipa being an amazing guide. She had us be the first to enter at our first stop with Pena Palace to ourselves for magnificent photos and time to explore. The weather is not in your control but in our case in was perfect. You need to be in decent shape to take the walk up but certainly worth it. Great guide and experience.

Our family had a wonderful tour of Sintra with Filipa! She was extremely knowledgable about the sites and area, very patient and engaging with our kids (ages 6, 10 and 12), and had all the details very streamlined to help us have the best day. We highly recommend this tour!

I really wanted to take a day tour to Sintra from Lisbon to see the castles. I had such a hard time finding a tour that had "all tickets for the castles included" (Pena Palace and Regaleira). Many other tours did not have tickets included for the inside of the castles. Our tour guide was Filipa. She was so kind and knowledgeable, and knew how to get us in the castles before the crowds formed. This was great! 10/10 would recommend to others.

My wife and I took a tour to Sintra, from Lisbon in early May 2026. Our tour guide, Filipa was awesome! She was super friendly, personable and extremely knowledgeable about Sintra and Portugal as a whole. Our tour was scheduled very early. FIlipa our tour guide was excellent, knowledgeable and efficient. The tour was scheduled very early so we were at the palace gates shortly before they opened. We were among the first ones to enter the palace grounds and the first ones to tour inside the palace. Thanks to our guide who got fast track tickets. No crowds yet as we toured but as we were leaving the crowd was getting thicker. FIlipa also booked reservations for lunch for the group so we skipped the line at the restaurant. Both sites were gorgeous! Well worth getting up early for.

Great Sintra tour - well-organized, well-paced, exactly as described. We got to Sintra early and didn’t need to wait in lines. There was plenty of time at each stop and we were back in Lisbon by late afternoon. The van was comfortable. All-around, this was one of the better tours we’ve been on. Highly recommend.
