Haven’t laughed so much on an organised tour before. Packed with interesting information by the hilarious Nuno and Pedro who turned 3 separate families from the UK, Canada and USA into one big family for the day. So many memories … still smiling!

Great experience…from pick up to drop off and everything in between! Eddy our tour guide was fantastic! No details overlooked… from umbrellas, to historical details, to a great lunch spot…even a little Fado karaoke in the van 😊
We’ve travelled to many countries, and have taken many tours and we can say that today’s experience was second to none. Totally the best. All thanks to our guide Nuño, and his assistant Pedro, as it was exceptional in every way. Their amazing knowledge of the history and the surrounding areas was incredible. It made quite a significant difference as a small group of only seven, as we were able to bond quickly into lasting friendships. We sang, we laughed, and did a little karaoke as well. At Pena Palace, being able to be first in line ensured great photo opportunities, (unhindered by crowds), and no waiting in long lineups. Our tour visited a local restaurant where we enjoyed an absolutely wonderful local meal of our choice. We couldn’t have asked for a better day. In the end, we were provided with a beautiful photo memory of the entire day. Thanks again to Nuno and Happy Tours Portugal. We would highly recommend this tour to everyone.
This tour was awesome! Eddy our guide got us to the entry early and helped take amazing pictures. He was informative on the drive there and throughout our tour. A ten hour tour at first glance seems ominous but we saw so much in that time that made the entire tour worth it. If you are questioning whether you will like this tour, do not, cause it was amazing. Our stop for lunch was delicious and the staff there was terrific. Eddy took your order early and food was ready so there was no waste of time. In fact the whole tour was expertly planed and efficient. Eddy was awesome and the whole Tour was terrific we loved it!
Great tour! Eddy and Pedro did a great job getting us to Pena palace early which set the tone for the whole day. We visited many interesting sites and he provided lots of information. The lunch was special and brought the group together. We did so much and had a great day! Love the photos Eddy did for us. We would highly recommend this tour!
Amazing trip and very good guide Bruno. He is very knowledgeable and provides a lot of information. We really enjoyed the trip. Thank you Bruno for such a great trip.
It was an amazing experience and a very well-run day. Our guide was Eddie, who was knowledgeable and easy to spend a long day with. The start was early, but that saved a great deal of time that we would otherwise have spent queuing for entrance. We also stopped at a Portuguese restaurant where the food was delicious. highly recommended and it worth the money.
We had a wonderful experience! Our guide Eddy was funny, knowledgeable and very talented at taking pictures! The tour was well-paced, informative and extremely fun! Our tour guide was great at facilitating connections within the group, so it was a day rally well spent! We got to see so many sites!
Absolutely perfect day! We went back and forth for days trying to decide if we wanted to sacrifice one of our days in lisbon in order to do a day trip to sintra. We decided this small group tour was worth it for all we would see in one day and the fact that we are likely to always fly into lisbon, thus more time in the city was okay to part with this trip. We are so glad we booked happy tours and even more glad Eddie was our guide! Meeting point was easy, he let me sit in the front middle seat as I get super motion sickness, and he was an absolute trove of information! I threw questions at him all day and he had an answer for everything. I was calling him Dr. Eddie by the end of the day because the fact that this man isn't a PhD at a university is mind blowing to me. We saw the most beautiful sintra spots, went to the coast for some incredible views, had an absolutely delicious lunch, complete with all the wine we could drink, and did car karaoke while learning more about Fado. And omg the pictures he captured!!! He knew every spot, every angle, and how to maximize the time by collecting them on his phone only. Genius really. The 715 start time was diabolical, BUT completely worth it when we were the absolute first group at Pena palace and waited in 0 lines to get in. The lines to get in as were we leaving were insane, and Eddie helped us miss absolutely all of that. Oh, and we were there in shoulder/low season tourism, and it was still absolutely crammed in, I can't even imagine what it's like in high season. Apparently everyone wants to see fairytale lands, castles, and the possibility of a dragon. Thanks Eddie, see you next time! (Hopefully in May!)
We had a wonderful time with this tour. Our tour guide, Eddy, was very likable, charismatic, and had an eye for telling stories with factual and historical backgrounds. It was really nice to hear about the places that we were headed to. Eddy took us to landmarks, such as the bay of Cascais, Cabo da Roca, the Westernmost point of continental Europe. He also helped us skip the lines at Pena palace and showed us the highlights to visit at Quinta de Regaleira. All the places were a blast to explore. Eddy took a bunch of photos and videos of us, and even sent us a montage video at the end to commemorate the trip! His lunch recommendation was also very good and tasty. Overall, a fantastic tour and a big part of that was Eddy’s wonderful charisma and knowledge.
Very good experience well worth the money.
Great tour. Bruno was very friendly, informative and funny. Visited Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira. Beautiful and mysterious palaces in Sintra. Cabo de Roca, Boca do Infierno and many other interesting stops. Thank you for a wonderful day Bruno!
The tour from start to finish was well organized. Bruno was very informative, thoughtful and funny. On our Sintra to Cascais tour we visited Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira which were beautiful! Cabo da Roca, Boca do Inferno, Miradouro Das Azenhas do Mar were natures best views. Definitely would recommend this tour to others! Great day with family and new friends!
Bruno was great very friendly and knowledgeable, made the whole day a fun experience and well planned out. Definitely made the most of our time! Great time, would use him again!
Booked this kinda last minute not even looking at the full itinerary. So I was pleasantly surprised with all the stops our tour guide took us to. What really made our tour wonderful was our guide Bruno. Let’s talk about Bruno. He was engaging, informative, a good storyteller and made our group feel like his lil family. He took us to some beautiful beach stops. All along the way he was our photographer. He took our pictures at every stop for us. He took some really cool pics & videos I wouldn’t have thought to do. The stops we went to were great starting off at a park at the top of Lisbon with great views of the city. Since Sintra was closed in the morning we went to the coast areas first. Caiscais was a charming affluent beach town. We also went to the “mouth of hell” and the western most point of mainland Europe, along with some other beautiful stops. Lunch was at a farm to table place called Toca de Julio and the food was amazing. This was an extra $28 but so, so worth it. Bruno really knows his way around the areas which helped get around some traffic. The Pena Palace is a bit of an uphill walk. Thankfully Bruno gave us plenty of time so I didn’t have to rush. Our group was so kind in waiting for me patiently, as I was definitely the slowest. The palace was worth the walk. Bruno stayed with explaining things along the way and taking more great pics. The next stop Quinta da Regaleira was also amazing. Bruno could not go with us here but gave us great directions to get there. Another bit of uphill walk though not as bad as the last. Well worth it though. We got to walk down what was called the initiation well. A nearly 100ft well that you walk down along stairs on the wall. It was quite a cool experience. The area around it was quite peaceful. Another great experience. The whole trip was great made so by our amazing tour guide Bruno!!
First of all, meeting place is great ( you can see it and Bruno welcomed us on time ! He was very funny and welcoming , lots of laughter and explained the history of Lisbon well , we now know where Cristiano Lives 😆.He was very attentive to our needs , took us to awesome places and more since we had extra time , learned about Madonna and very informative in Pena palace ! We had a great time and made all of us bonded in our small group calling us Bruno family ! Small personal touches like this is a gem in a foreign country with strangers who became friends at the end of our 10 or 11 hour journey ( time passed by and we didn’t even know ! Thank you for being an awesome guide ! Bruno is the best !!!!😍😍 choose him and ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It was my wife and I and our daughter and son in law. Our guide was very informative but also very helpful to my wife, who had some issues walking, and helped her to make the most of the day. Lunch was amazing, and overall we all had a really great time.
It was a great time. The tour guide was entertaining and provide a great history and experience. You will need to pay for your tickets into the parks. The tour guide had his tricks to try and have you as the only one in photos so you can get iconic shots of the palace. The tour was a full 8 hours and expect to be tired you will walk in multiple parts and wear comfortable shoes. The tour was only 8 people with the guide so definitely a smaller group.
Amazing day with Eddy! We started early but it got us to the Palace at the front of the line. Eddy knew all of the best picture spots at all of the sites that we visited. We had a fantastic lunch and even had some free time to shop for souvenirs! Highly recommend this tour!!
Very informative, organized and fun day trip. The early start enabled us to be the first to enter the palace avoiding long lines and crowds. In addition to his wealth of knowledge, Eddy was an excellent photographer at multiple photo sites, including the palace before anybody got there. The lunch stop was also amazing. Highly recommend!
Best part was the early start that got us to the front of the line at the castle! Eddy was an excellent driver and his knowledge of Portuguese history was exceptional!
We were a couple (early 60's) and booked this trip because of the small number of people and the good reviews. This was a great day spent in Lisbon! Our guide Eduardo (Eddie) really added value to the trip by explaining the history of Portugal, taking us to scenic locations and finding those "best spots" to take photos. He took us to a great local restaurant (not touristy) which was delicious, and we even did some Fado singing in the van! You may wonder why it starts so early...because you beat the lines at Sintra! The early start probably saved one or two hours in line compared to other ticket holders. You should know that your Sintra tickets and meal are not included in the price, but I still felt it was a good value for a full day with a great guide. Especially when you get Eddie's extra gift at the end of the trip! Thanks Eddie!
Bruno was an amazing and organised guide and made the day extremely enjoyable and comfortable. I highly recommend this tour.
Amazing trip with Bruno. He really took care of his group. We all had a great day. Anytime again!
My husband & I went on a 10 hour tour with “Happy Tours.”We wanted to find a tour that would enable us to take in as much of Sintra & Lisbon sites in one day! We had a perfect size group of 8 and a comfortable van that fit all of us. Our tour guide was Nico, he was AWESOME!! He was extremely knowledgeable about every site we visited and very good at condensing info when needed as this tour covered a lot in one day! But he was fun & relaxed & made us all feel like family together! Our group was terrific, we all had such a great time together as if we’d known each other before! Getting to Pena Palace first, which was the highlight, was one of the reasons I booked this tour! Nico got us in there before all the crowds, he took the time to take all kinds of pics of our group and as couples, and then put them together in a video for us that we can keep! All included! Such a beautiful surprise! I already miss Nico & our group! It was the most fun my hubby & I have had in a long time!
Nico was so much fun, knowledgeable and the whole tour was well worth the money. We had so much fun, we laughed so much. Lisbon is a beautiful place to venture out with these guys and check everything out. I highly recommend them.
We completed the 10h tour with Nico today. It was amazing. No lines to get in. Arrived on time. Got some history lessons. Food was amazing and reasonably price. We had a blast with our your guild Nico. He was funny and knowledgeable.
We had the best day with Bruno! The itinerary was full for the day with Pena Palace, Quinta da Regaleira and a few scenic stops in between. However, Bruno’s upbeat personality kept the energy up for the day. He knew all of the best times to show up like at Pena Palace. We were the first ones in line. Bruno then took us to each of the best picture spots and took pictures for all of us. He took care of everything for the day from the rides to even ordering for us at the restaurant. It was nice to just follow and not think about what to do for the day. Thank you for everything! We learned a lot and had so much fun!
Bruno was the best tour guide ever. Took great photos for us and was so time-efficient and always gave us a good rundown of the plan. I wish he could be my tour guide for every tour. 10/10
Eddy, our guide was an excellent driver. He was very knowledgeable and open to answering questions. He had a great sense of humor. Our group was the first to arrive at the palace. Eddy made sure to take plenty of photos and videos of our group at the best locations. He selected an excellent restaurant for lunch. It was a great day exploring Sintra and surrounding sites. I would highly recommend Happy Tours Portugal and of course, our excellent guide, Eddy.
Our trip with Happy Tours Portugal was an exceptional day. We started our day with Eddy our guide. Drove us to Sintra and we were there before the gates opened. First in line to enter, definitely the best! We drove to Cascais, stopped multiple times to take photos and learn about Cascais, a beautiful little town along the Atlantic. The restaurant Eddy took us to for lunch was delicious 😋 As we drove to our next destination Quinta Da Regaleira. Amazing lush gardens, leading you to the Spiral Well you walk down. Eddy had us all signing Fado, after his instructions. We all had a great time. After we all were dropped off, Eddy sent us these fabulous photos and videos of us and the day we spent together. Eddy is a terrific guide and driver. I highly recommend taking Eddy's tour to Sintra!
We had a fantastic time in Sintra. The tour packed a lot in one day and our guide Bruno was great. I think this is the best way to visit Sintra. Bruno also had nice touches that added to the overall experience— ways to reduce waiting time; local restaurant experience for lunch; personalized pictures and video montage. Highly recommend.
Our day was packed with so many sights and climbing uphill and we were very tired by the end, but it worth it! Nico was a great tour guide, took pictures of us, shared every information in a WhatsApp group. We saw two palaces, the "Portugal Santorini", a huge casino, had a nice lunch, and even went to the beach for a short time. We enjoyed it very much, and while we were truly exhausted by the end, we would do it again!
Wow! Incredible! We had the absolute best experience on this full day tour to Sintra and many other stops. Our guide was Eduardo “Eddie” and he made our group of 8 total strangers feel like we’d known each other for years. If you want to spend the day getting moved from place to place with zero stress, zero waiting in long lines, a traditional Portuguese meal for lunch, stopping at some of the most incredible sites, palaces and other cultural places THIS is the tour you want to take. Eddie, you are truly special thank you for the customized surprise videos you made for all of us!
My experience with this tour was just phenomenal, Eddy was a really good guide. Would give him a 12/10. Not too expensive for something that you do all day, definitely worth it if you have no other plans and are visiting for the first time.
This is an excellent tour. Yes you pay more and have to pay for the palaces tickets but it’s worth it. We were the first ones in line at Pena Palace and our guide Nico took us in to take pictures of us when there was no one around - he shared these through what’s app. We saw so many places and he really took care of us. My husband joked that Nico was like a dad to us!!! He drove us to so many places and lunch was excellent(not included) There was only 6 of us so basically a private tour. There is a lot of up hill walking because the palaces are built on a hill. You would have to do that even if you’re on your own. Just FYI.
Great tour to see some of the most famous spots around Lisbon. The tour starts early and you go to Palacio de Pena first. This way we were first in the queue and had the chance to take some nice pictures without the place being crowded. Afterwards you drive to some beautiful spots at the coast. Lunch is in a Portoguese Restaurant with a nice atmosphere. After Lunch you visit the most Western point of the continent and afterwards to the last stop at Quinta de Regaleira which was the highlight of the tour for us. Our guide Bruno was a great - he explained a lot about all the places we visited during the day and about Portugal in general.
Nico was an excellent guide the rasly start ensures early entry into the palace which is a big benefit. Lunch was great and the small group really worked. Thank you Nico
This was a good day trip to get outside of Lisbon. The tour covered a lot, so bring some good walking shoes. Eddy was our guide for this small group tour. The tour was well organized. Eddy and team did a great job getting us into the Sintra palace once our time slot came up. We were some of the first to arrive, so we were able to enter into the palace early before the crowds and get some pictures that didn't have people in them! Eddy took many pictures for the group and shared these as well as a video of the day to our group via WhatsApp. We also drove out to Cascais and to Cabo Da Roca for some amazing ocean views. The ride included some carpool karaoke which we all got to relax and laugh a bit. Our lunch stop was very good, and we enjoyed some fresh seafood and wine (wine was not included but we opted to purchase). There are non-seafood options also such as pasta, beef, veal and pork. The day was long but went by so fast because we were having so much fun. Do this tour and ask for Eddy!
Bruno was great! Highly recommend him and the tour.
This was the best decision we made! For the first time visiting Lisbon we could not have asked for a better tour and guide (Eddy). He was phenomenal, professional and a gem to spend the entire day with. It was a 10 hour day and it sure didn't feel like it because of him. Few things to highlight that we loved - We were the first to arrive at the Palace. They knew exactly when to get there and get all the great pics! - We had an amazing lunch - We did karaoke in the car. All because he made us so comfortable and by the end of day our entire group became friends 🧡 Highly recommend 👌🏽
We had an awesome day in Sintra with Eddy. We arrived early so we could be one of the first people entering the castle. Eddy made it fun taking our pictures, explaining things and making us laugh. We made a few interesting stops and the most important we eat delicious lunch and drunk a lot of wine. After that singing in a car seemed like a natural choice. We for sure will remember this day but to make sure of that Eddy made a little video for each of us ( we were a small group of 6 people).
Awesome experience made even better by Bruno's enthusiasm to make sure we had a memorable time. Super organized and well paced. Bruno acting as the group photographer was a nice bonus. Highly recommended.
Perfect tour with "Lukas with a K" ! All the locations are amazing and more so since Lukas is taking very cool pictures during the whole trip (perfect for solo travelers) ! (The answer is 0 !)
It was all a bit rushed and more driving than expected but we covered a lot of territory including getting the first (9:30) general admission time for the Pena Palace. We got great views of the ocean at various stops and a set menu lunch that was far larger than we were looking for. The last stop was for the Poco Iniciatico plus a chapel and a hunting lodge in the park. We did not see the Quinta Da Regaleira which might have been better than the ‘well’. Lots of walking and elevation changes - wear sturdy shoes with a good grip and be ready for a good workout. Take rainwear regardless of the forecast or weather in Lisboa.
We were first in line to Pena Palace so we got photos before the crowds arrived…thanks to our guide, Nico! Be aware that while the tickets to the palaces are purchased for you, the cost is not included in the price of this tour, nor is the meal. The value is in the worry free, no hassle transport.
Eduardo was an awesome tour guide, we had a very fun day, he took us to a great place for lunch and we had a little karaoke session on our way back. Obrigada Eduardo!
It was an amazing experience with Nico! Loved how early we got there and enjoyed many experiences
This tour was a great way to see the treasures of Sintra and the surrounding area. It wouldn’t have been easy to do independently. Nico had us at Pena palace in time to see it before the crowds. The small group of 8 made it fun. Nico added to the memories with photos of each couple at all the key spots. The lunch was really good and good value. There is a lot of walking but the pace was doable. It was a really enjoyable experience.
Guide was informative but spoke fast and was sometimes hard to understand. It was not explained well enough in advance of booking about the difficulty of the climb at Sintra. I thoroughly enjoyed the coastal views. It was a lot of ground to cover in one day and felt rushed.
