Sintra Private Tour From Lisbon

We had a great full day private tour to Sintra and Cascais along with some other stops. Our guide, Rui, was excellent. He was extremely knowledgeable, courteous, professional and personable . I highly recommend this tour.

Overall great experience. Rui was an outstanding guide. Knowledgeable, friendly and flexible. We wanted to alot of walking and he shared some of the beautiful streets of Cascais and SIntra in addition to the guided tours. One thing to note, the tour does NOT include any of the inside rooms of the palace, so if that is important this may not be the right tour for you.

It is an interesting look into historical Portugal and makes history come to life. It also offers a scenic view of some of Potugal's beautiful coastal area. Keith, our guide was extremely knowledgeable and concerned with making the tour a wonderful experience. The insights and details he provided made you feel as if you were integrally involved in Potugese life, both past and present. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Lisbon and strongly suggest that they request Keith as their guide.

We had a great day with Joao. Very friendly and knowledgeable about Sintra, the history of Portugal, and local places to visit in Lisbon. He took the time to find out what we wanted to see, what type of food we wanted to eat for lunch, and was a great host in every aspect. I would definitely recommend this tour.

We enjoyed this full day tour. Joao did a great job showing us all the major attractions.. He is pleasant and knowledgeable. Joao shared interesting information about the sites and history. His vehicle was clean and comfortable. He drove safely. We had ample time to enjoy the attractions and take pictures. We did not feel rushed. Lunch on our own was in a restaurant by the sea. Excellent recommendation from our guide. Communications from the company was excellent. We received a message prior to our tour date to confirm time, pick up location and tour guide. Everything went smoothly. Highly recommend this tour.

What a wonderful day! Rui was knowledgeable, fun and one of the best tour guides I have ever had! We were able to see the beauty of Sintra, Cascais, Colares etc at a perfect pace. We were able to see so many highlights of this beautiful country in an organized, efficient manner. Rui made the day fun and I highly recommend him.

Rui was an excellent guide, picked us up on time and accommodated our limitations. He had a good plan for the day, provided historical background and other useful information. He brought us to a good place for lunch. Our tour included seeing the beaches, a short walk and lunch in Cascais and the Pena Palace and walking in Sintra.

I had an amazing personalised tour experience with Antonio. Antonio planned the day perfectly to allow me to experience some of the coastal towns and Sintra. Antonio was generous sharing information about his culture, history, family and was very accomodating with my questions. His tour was the highlight of my Portugal travel and I would book again with when I return to Portugal. Highly recommend!

I would highly recommend Jump-In Tours. The guide, Keith, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the Sintra and surrounding areas. We was very flexible and took us to a fabulous coastal lunch location that had great views and excellent food. We had an excellent tour with Antonio. He was super knowledgable and gave us insights throughout the day. He executed our desired itinerary perfectly including giving us some time on our own. We loved Sintra in part because we were able to experience it throught Antonio.

After a prompt pickup at our accommodation, our guide, Keith, gave us a fascinating tour of the architecture of Sintra. We would have missed many details had we gone alone. Next, we had a nice lunch by the sea and a beautiful drive along the coastline.

Keith was an absolutely fantastic guide, showing us the Pena Palace in Sintra and Palace of Quinta da Regaleira, along with a delicious seaside lunch at a family-owned restaurant. Be prepared to be gone for a whole day. One couple were in their late 70’s and found it a bit tiring. Rui was fabulous and entertaining, his knowledge of the history, area, and fun facts. Miguel was an excellent guide. He gave us an in-depth history timeline before touring the moorish Castle. He’s very enthusiastic about his heritage and it showed. We had an enjoyable and delicious lunch and also enjoyed our time at the seaside village of Cascais. I would definitely recommend this tour.

The best way to see Cascais & Sintra and everywhere in between. Rui was extremely knowledgeable and quickly tuned in to the sites that my wife and I would find interesting. He was terrific at adapting on the fly based on weather and traffic conditions. He also gave us suggestions for places we might want to explore in our remaining days in Lisbon. We would not hesitate to book another tour with him if the opportunity arises.

We had a great half day tour, going to Sintra, having lunch at a wonderful local spot and driving through Cascais.

We had a wonderful day with Rui as our guide. We were picked up at our hotel, stopped in Caiscais for a walking tour of the town, learned how it transformed from a sleepy fisheman’s village to a tony seaside town and paused for a very welome coffee and pastry. We then made our way to different points of interest along the dramatic coastline north of Caiscais – the westernmost point of continental Europe Cabo de Roca, Praia Grande, among others. After those scenic stops, Rui brought us to a restaurant in Almoçageme, where we could have happily spent the rest of the day - friendly service, cozy ambience, and delicious food and wine. But Sintra awaited, a beautiful lush mountain town with its magical Pena Palace and “Initialtion Well”. Riu arranged our tickets, toured us about the grounds, and engaged us with the places's history and stories. It wasn’t an easy day for Rui, Portugal is seeing an unusual amount of rain and foggy weather, and he maneuvered through tiny village roads, traffic jams and inclement weather with patience and a sure-footedness that made us feel we were in good hands. We highly recommend touring with Rui – for us it will provide a holiday highlight we’ll talk about for years. Obriagada Rui for your professionalism and graciousness.

Our guide, Keith, was great. Very knowable about the people and places we were taken. Also a very good and careful driver. And most of all it was fun to be in his company.

We had a fantastic tour guide. It was pouring rain the whole day and many roads were closed but Keith managed to get us to Sintra and the palace. He is extremely knowledgeable and we had a great time chatting with him. After a long day in the rain he took us to a great restaurant where we had the best meal we have had yet in Portugal. If you take this tour make sure you ask for Keith!

It was a lovely day. The guide Keith adapted the itinerary to our preferences and took us to Caiscais, Pena Palace as well as a gorgeous place not on our radar- Monserrate and a delicious fresh caught fish lunch. Keith was easygoing and informative and excellent at driving the van up some twisty tiny 2-way roads. Would recommend.

We spent a great day with Miguel exploring Sintra. He was punctual, outgoing, and very knowledgeable about a wide variety of topics. He took time to ask us questions to get to know us and tailored the tour to fit our interests. While we could have navigated this day trip from Lisbon on our own, the expertise and information Miguel provided enhanced the trip exponentially. This day private tour is worth every penny. We had a 100% rain forecast. However, between umbrellas, ponchos and the care of our tour guide, Gui, we had a great day. Gui was very friendly, patient and accommodating to our needs. Gui knows the Sintra area like the palm of his hand. We would highly recommend it.

Rui picked us up at our hotel and took us to several beautiful locations, making sure we parked as close as possible to the sites. He showed us the best vantage points and gave us ample time to explore. When he dropped us back at the hotel, we could not believe all the placed we visited in our 8.5 hour day together.

Our driver, Keith, picked us up at our hotel for a private all day tour to Sintra, Pena National Palace, Quinta da Regaleira Castle. The coastline of Sintra was beautiful where he took us to a wonderful restaurant for lunch on the beach and enjoyed delicious grilled fish! We stopped at AZENHAS DO MAR Beach town for amazing photo opportunities. We visited a lookout point and a working lighthouse. Then we visited the seaside village of Cascais before heading back to Lisbon. At the palace and castles we climbed uphill all day, parts of the climb were brutal but we did it! 🤣 We learned a bounty of history, it was truly amazing the historical knowledge Keith shared with us throughout the entire day! Keith is an excellent driver and the van was comfortable and clean. We are forever grateful for the experience! Thank you Keith and Viator!

We had a private tour with Rui. It was phenomenal. Rui took us on an unforgettable journey through Cascais, Farol do Cabo Raso, a phenomenal lunch experience, and Sintra (both the region and palace), as well as the village below. He shared the history of the region and gave us an appreciation for Portugal overall.

We had such a great time and learned so much! Rui was a fantastic host! Very knowledgeable and easy going. I recommend him 100%! He knew the secret shortcuts through the castle grounds, all the back roads and history. Just love this experience. We went to the Templar initiation well - made famous by the Mystery of Oak Island - great story teller. We had a great time! Lots of exercise.

We had a fabulous day with our guide,Rui. He was prompt and courteous. He was very knowledgeable about the area and shared details with wit. We stopped a few times along the coast for scenic photo spots. We had a delicious and relaxing lunch at Sisudo in Colares (get the sangria, you won’t be disappointed). We toured Sintra castle (exterior) and then on to Quinta de Regaleira. Rui kept us entertained all day and showed great care to assure we were all doing well on our journey.

What a wonderful tour and guide! Our guide Gui was so incredibly friendly and knowledgeable of the area. His fluent English and deep knowledge of history made our day trip to Sintra amazing. We stopped for a wonderful lunch at a great restaurant in Sintra and Gui helped us cut through the lines and crowds in some of the busier spots we visited. Gui even doubled as an our personal photographer to help us catch all all the perfect photos of the gorgeous locations we visited. I can't recommend the tour highly enough and my biggest piece of advice, is if you're able, spend the extra for the private tour. Having done both on the past, it really makes the experience that much better. Thanks so much Gui, you made our tour unforgettable.

This was a great tour which Gui adapted to our abilities. He was fabulous with lots of information and vey undrstanding.

We had a private tour of Sintra with Keith and it was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, funny, and kind. He was also very accommodating when we had a small emergency. He had answers to all of our questions and also suggested some of the best photo ops during the tour. We can’t recommend him and Jump In Tours enough!

Ask for Rui, if possible. He was fantastic. Very detailed explanation of Cascais and Sintra and the tie to Portuguese royal family and desirability of the area for wealthy people.
