Ramiro was fantastic, we wanted to go a bit off the normal itinerary, and couldn't have been happier with how he went the extra mile to insure we had a Great day. We loved the entire experience and made some great memories.

If you wish to stop at Pena Palace, you can decide if and how long you want to stay at the stunning gardens of the almost 200 acres of lush exotic gardens and rivers with species from all over the world or also see the palace. If you wish to pass by the fairy-tail palace from the XIX century, designed to be the lush summer home of the portuguese royalty, we facilitate access to the tickets to the inside and outside of the palace! With stunning views over the valley of Sintra-Cascais, you can see all the way until the coast-line (where we'll go next, after the Masonic Well at Regaleira!) At the palace you also have a nice caffe where you can have a bite!
This Mourish Castle is located in the middle of the Sintra foorest! Well-built on the top of a mountain. The castle itself has more than 1000 years! We stop there and go when you ready.
Here we taste the good sweets and drinks, made by local friends! Also here we make a pause for lunch if you need. We stop there and go when you ready.
The closest point to the Americas in Europe, here you are at the extreme west, where before there were temples of meditation ! In here you can even get a certificate by the cityhall saying that you were at the most west point of europe! We stop there and go when you ready.
Cascais the famous up-scale beachtown that everyone wants to visit and where many want to move-in! Here, the huge bombs of water in each storm carved a huge cave in the rocks of the beach, which now we call in portuguese Mouth of Inferno. We stop there and go when you ready.

Our guide Pedro was so great… he was so knowledgeable about the country and all its history .He was so informative. Sintra and Cascais are both worth seeing as well as a tuk tuk around the city. It’s beautiful!
Nico was an amazing guide. So knowledgable and interesting we had the best day visiting Sintra and Cascáis. Highly recommend a tour with him
Sintra was great but the best part was the tour guide Pedro. He helped us understand the history, kept it fun and interesting, got us the local pastries and had so many great insider tips. Fabulous experience all around.
Nico was an amazing tour guide. He treated us like family from the moment he met us. He provided a completely customized tour and was very flexible in designing a route that worked for us from the beautiful castles of Sintra to the beauty of Cascais. Obrigado Nico!!
I don’t think I could be much more disappointed. But the tour that is the topic of this post was NOT a private guided tour. It was a glorified cab ride. In essence, you get a private driver but NO tour. He took us to the entry point for Sintra, then left us to wander on our own. No added value whatsoever. No information. No commentary. He went to get a couple of local pastries (which were nice) but pastries are a far cry from 4 hours of valuable, interesting information. After we left Sintra, he took us to a “typical Portuguese Sunday market”, which was what we would call a “flea market” or “garage sale” in a parking lot. Used potty seats, unwanted clothes and shoes and dishes…I cannot fathom the reason he took us there. Again, he waited with the car - due to where he parked, but I think based on the Sintra experience he would not have walked with us anyhow. Finally, we were dropped off at the airport, 30 minutes early. We paid, for an adult and child, 220 Euros for a driver for 3.5 hours. NOT a private guided tour of 4 hours. I have been on “private guided tours” before - in fact, the most recent was just 2 days before this one. On the other tour, for a total cost of 130 Euros, the guide was with us the entire time, sharing the history of the site, answering questions with ease, and the 4 hour tour ended up being about 4h20 before we parted. The only time he left our side was for a 10 minute stop at a souvenir shop. It was consistent with our prior private tour experiences and enriched our experience so much that we wanted to do the same on our layover in Lisbon. I recommend you do better research than I did and choose a different “tour” for your precious layover time.
Peter was knowledgeable and a great tour guide. He was very professional and amiable. I really appreciate his services.
Tour guide Pedro was amazing! Extremely knowledgeable and had a wonderful sense of humor. He made the trip extra special!
If you visit Lisbon this tour is an absolute must. So beautiful and our tour guide Niko, was fabulous. So knowledgeable and accommodating!
First off hats off to Viator by phone. Their operator found us a last minute private tour. When the driver got stuck in traffic, the tour operator sprung into action and got us a replacement a couple of hours later. “John” was very nice and took us around in a beautiful car. We enjoyed our experience. Would have given it a 5 if he talked more about the sights and less about himself.
We had such a great trip to sintra with Niko! Niko worked with our schedule and having to adjust the tour time to work with our travel schedule and gave us such a wonderful day! Definitely recommend! He was very knowledgeable and really tailored the day to our preferences.
Gaudi in full glory …. Good that Mr. Batllo changed his mind & didn’t demolish the building ….each room had Gaudi’s fantastic creativity on display
Pedro was amazing. He showed us the fortifications, castles, and mansions as well as the old town of Sintra itself. I was very interested in the Cork trees. He took us to an area with a small grove of Cork Trees and explained how they grow, how the cork is harvested and how the trees are protected. It was very interesting. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Our trip was awesome. We booked the half day private tour in the afternoon, so we could have flexibility and a relaxed trip after arriving the night before. We waited until he arrived to decide on our final destination, Sintra. Pedro was the perfect guide. He got us a last minute lunch reservation at a great restaurant in Sintra with a spectacular ocean view. The food was literally Michelin star quality. He was informative on the history and culture of the area. It was the perfect start to our vacation. Highly recommend!!!
Great time away from the crowds. Very special driver/guide. Beautiful afternoon, with a glimpse of the sunset.
We were short on time and only had an afternoon to tour Sintra and Cascais. Pedro conveniently picked us up at our hotel, promptly at 1 PM, and off we went to see all the highlights of these two regions. Pedro was a fantastic tour guide and driver. He listened to our requests and customized our tour for us! We toured through Sintra, saw the castles in the hills and walked through the picturesque town. We visited a small cafe and Pedro treated us to Queijada, a traditional pastry originating from Sintra. The beaches in Cascais were absolutely gorgeous! The breeze was so refreshing and the air so clean. We ate lunch at a Michelin-rated restaurant with a panoramic view of the sea, watched the surfers, and tasted Vinho Verde. Drove through the town of Cascais before heading back to Lisbon. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this beautiful country! Loved the charming castles, pristine beaches and delicious pastries. Highly recommend Pedro and Choose Your Emotion tours!
The tour was good but not organized. If you want to see something specific I suggest you bring your own list. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and knew a lot about the history of Portugal. However, he was just a driver. All the places you go, you will pay yourself and tour yourself and he will pick you up. Overall it was just an expensive Uber drive around Portugal.
this half day tour is not worth the money - you just can't see enough in 4 hours in Sintra especially when you include the 45m each way is included in that time. Our original full day tour cancelled 1 hour before departure so we scrambled for this half day tour just to try and get down there - the tour guide seemed to take us to his local shops for food when all we wanted was to see the city, the castle, the well - really anything - we ended up just driving by all the places and going into one palace since that's all there really is time for with such a short tour - you'd be better off booking a full day tour
I cannot say enough good things about Pedro and the tour! Pedro went out of his way to ensure my mom had a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend this tour and if possible ask for Pedro, you won't regret it!
Amazing 5H tour with Pedro! He picked up us from our appartment, than we went to an amazing beach in Sintra and on the way we saw some of the castles from the Car. Moreover, we arrived at capo da roca, an astonishing stop overlooking the sea and the hills. We added 1h to the tour for going to the amazing Cascais where we saw all the long beaches of the zone and Pedro show us the alleys of the little town. Pedro was amazing, he told us a lot of secret of Lisbon, Sintra and the Portuguese life. We really enjoyed the tour with him. We absolutely suggest a round with him if you are staying in Lisbona.
This tour was a glorified taxi drive. Our tour guide brought us to three places and whenever we wen’t anywhere interesting he just told us to go in by ourselves and text him when we were almost at the exit. He gave us little to no actual information about Portugal and instead talked the entire drive about negative ions, chemicals in tap water, and 5G conspiracy theories. His food recommendations were also subpar.
It was a good tour. Andres was very informative and knowledgeable. I would recommend doing it. Even dropped me to Belem on the way back.
Me and my friend Lisa decided to make another tour with Pedro on our last day in Portugal, so we make a half day tour in Cascais! We went to the famous Boca do inferno and we also walked a little by the beach and Pedro told us very interesting things about the history of portugal. At the end of the tour he took us a very nice pic! We couldn't have had a better last day! Thank you for those amazing days with you <3
Great day that started with nice and clear communication via Pedro regarding appointments regarding pick-up and daily routine. Super guide Fransisco taught us a lot about the history of Lisbon, Sintra and Regalheira castle (fantastic fairytale place in the green). The course of the day was flexible and pleasant, we could choose what we wanted to do. We ended our tour with a surprise tasting in Amalfa, where we received tips for dining while enjoying Fado music. Top day, top guide, top arrangement❤
