Marvel at its eclectic design, explore the lavishly decorated royal rooms, and soak in panoramic views that stretch all the way to the Atlantic. It’s not just a monument; it’s a living dream where history and imagination meet.
Free Time in Sintra: History, Gastronomy & Mystery Historic Center: Enjoy a guided introduction followed by free time in the romantic heart of Sintra. Sweet Traditions: Take a break to taste the iconic "Travesseiros de Sintra" at a local pastry shop. Flexibility is Key: You’ll have 2h to 2h30 of independent time. Choose Your Adventure: Use this time for a traditional lunch or opt for a self-guided visit to the enigmatic Quinta da Regaleira. Alternatively, simply wander the picturesque streets and enjoy the local shops at your leisure.
Unveil the Mysteries of Quinta da Regaleira Use your free time in Sintra to step into the mystical world of Quinta da Regaleira. This isn't just a garden; it’s an enigmatic journey. Explore the sumptuous Palace, wander through hidden caves and secret grottoes, and marvel at the ornate fountains. The highlight? Descending the legendary Initiation Well (Inverted Tower), a breathtaking spiral of stone and symbolism. Enjoy the freedom to explore this UNESCO site at your own pace, uncovering its secrets at every turn.
Cabo da Roca: Where the Land Ends and the Sea Begins Stand at the westernmost point of Continental Europe and feel the magnitude of the Atlantic. No matter the weather, the "Edge of Europe" offers a soul-stirring experience and a perfect photo opportunity at the iconic lighthouse.
Boca do Inferno: A Geological Masterpiece Witness the sheer force of nature at Boca do Inferno. This striking cliff formation, shaped by millions of years of Atlantic erosion, offers a window into the Earth's power. Its evocative name reflects the intensity of the waves that batter the coast, especially during the winter swells. Take a moment to stand on the edge and feel the ocean breeze at one of Portugal's most famous natural landmarks.
The Scenic Charm of Cascais Bay Take a refreshing break at the stunning Bay of Cascais, the heart of the "Portuguese Riviera." Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the waterfront, where colorful fishing boats bob in the turquoise water against a backdrop of grand 19th-century mansions. It’s the perfect moment to breathe in the salty Atlantic breeze, soak up the sophisticated atmosphere, and capture some of the most iconic photos of your journey. A brief but unforgettable encounter with Portugal’s most elegant seaside retreat.
The Glamour of Estoril: Europe’s Iconic Casino Enjoy a scenic panoramic drive through Estoril, passing by the legendary Casino Estoril—the largest in Europe. More than just a casino, this iconic landmark was a famous haunt for spies during WWII and served as the real-life inspiration for Ian Fleming’s first James Bond novel, Casino Royale. Catch a glimpse of its grand gardens and sophisticated architecture as we cruise through the heart of the Portuguese Riviera.

The sights were great. The Pena Palace is difficult walk for anyone with mobility challenges. But definitely worth the views
Our guide was wonderful and very knowledgeable. He provided lots of information and knew the best spots for pics!
Our guide Phylipe was very knowledgeable ,fluent in English, calm and polite. We had a very enjoyable day.
We had a very nice tour with Alex. He picked us up promptly in the morning. Considering we were his third tour ever, he was very knowledgable and informative. The tour itself was interesting. We started along the coast and finished at Pena Palace. Our guide was very informative and helpful during this tour. Overall, a very good experience.
Mister FIlipe Branco Is very knowledge and did extra mile by guiding us to the palace via the park. We enjoyed the experience and the tour v much
Tour itinerary was good but just a hassle to find out we had to buy the entrance ticket in the morning when the tour guide pick us up, it quite stressful due to poor internet connection. Wish they told us a day before so we could take care at the hotel with wifi instead we wasted an hour getting the tickets.
Philip our tour guide gave us a beautiful day! He helped with our tickets and was knowledgeable, kind , and organized. Thank you
Excellent Tour. Got to see many areas in one day. Our guide Philip was very knowledgeable. Never miss an opportunity to see the Pena Palace.
5/ Tour was great, tour guide was knowledgeable. We were supposed to be dropped off at the Double tree Hotel but we were dropped off at Marques de Pombai circle instead.
Our tour guide was incredibly insightful and knowledgeable, sharing fascinating details about each location and its history. He was friendly, patient, and made our family feel very comfortable throughout the day. We appreciated that the tour never felt rushed, allowing us to truly enjoy the beauty of Lisbon and Sintra. It was an excellent experience. Well worth it! We would definitely book again with this company for another excursion.
We were looking forward to seeing the gardens at Regaleira but it was not explained to us that this was an option and not included in the official tour. We were not given any free time when we could have done this. The guide actually inferred that one shouldn't go there. We did not get to Sintra Palace until late in the afternoon and we had to leave our walk around early in order to catch the last bus down the hill. It was a very good day in some respects but we felt misled regarding Regaleira.
Fabulous tour with best tour guide - Diago - we have encountered. He was very passionate and informative and great driver. We saw so much and enjoyed every minute. This tour was so well priced too. I cannot recommend this tour more.
The dropoff location was not the same as pickup. That led to problems with Uber. My phone battery then died. Extremely stressful. We were not made aware of the diffrrent dropoff till we were picked up.
Fantastic trip. Felipe was a knowledgeable, friendly and amazing tour guide. From the beginning of our trip to the end of it, he was an open book and always happy to answer any questions and to give us tips.
Manuel was a great host. Peña Palace was closed due to fire risk but we saw Sinatra and some other good stops and it was a great day.
Trip was very good. Everything flowed seamlessly and our guide, Manuel, was very accommodating, helpful and knowledgeable about local history.
Very organised, stress free day with our very knowledgeable guide. Manuel. He was very considerate and helpful.
Well arranged tour with personal touch and service. Pick up was arranged from the hotel , so very convienient and no need to rush with early breakfast etc. Driver was also performing as a guide and on the van's back was not always easy to hear him speaking.
Excellent trip, Orlando was very kind and explained us the history very well! Would definitely recommend this trip. The tickets and the way the route was organised very thoughtfully too.
It was great! Our tour guide, Orlando, was so warm & full of wonderful stories! It was a perfect day. If you like to solo explore with some guidance this tour is for you. I recommend booking in advance and figuring out the timeline because you do a lot of driving.
An interesting and informative tour visiting all the names sights in the itinerary. What made this tour for my wife and I was our Guide Pedro, a knowledgeable and entertaining guide he took into account all our parties needs and requests making for a memorable day. Thank you Pedro and Celina Tours
Orlando our driver/guide checked all the boxes for us. He provided a ton of history. So knowledgeable, above and beyond expected. Tickets weren’t available for the palaces, however it gave us more free time in Sintra and Cascais, which we loved. Orlando provided 2 lunch suggestions in Cascais. The Portuguese seafood and rice was superb. Definitely hit the spot. Our final location, although windy truly made you feel like you had reached the end of the world. Spectacular views. Windy and sandy, but so glad we experienced it. Thank you Orlando for a perfect day.
Overall, this tour was very good. Our guide was local, knowledgable, and friendly. The order of the tour was to go to Cascais first, then Cabo da Roca, Quinta da Regaleira, and lastly the Pena Palace. Unfortunately, when we arrived at Pena Palace we were turned away at the gate. Our guide had us buy entrance tickets to Quinta da Regaleira early in the day but not for Pena Palace. It seems in recent days he was able to buy tickets to the grounds/gardens of the palace on the spot at the entrance. However, when we arrived, there were no more tickets for the day. The guide was very apologetic and took us to another palace in its place which was also lovely, but we were disappointed that we got so close to Pena and got turned away. I think the guide was sincerely surprised and likely changed his approach for his next tours, so I would still recommend it.
Pedro is an exceptional guide with boundless energy and an encyclopedic knowledge of Portugal’s history. His excellent English and insightful tips truly enhanced our tour experience. Despite the rain for half of the tour, we had a fantastic time, and he made sure we still had opportunities to enjoy coffee, treats, and explore on our own. We were fortunate to have him all to ourselves, but I have no doubt he would be equally fantastic with a larger group. We wholeheartedly recommend Celina Tours for an unforgettable tour experience!
Beautiful day seeing a Castle , wondering around a small village and enjoying the sunshine and sights just outside of Lisbon! Our tour guide Orlando was so impressive with his knowledge and enthusiasm! Thank you for a great tour!
A wonderful trip! However, if you're visiting in February, be prepared for cooler temperatures, especially in the higher areas of Sintra Palace - bringing a warm layer is a good idea. Our guide was highly knowledgeable providing fascinating historical insights and engaging stories that enriched the experience. Overall, a fantastic journey well worth taking!
This was a great tour and Orlando was an amazing guide! We really enjoyed exploring Sintra on our own and we loved the Pena Palace tour because of the knowledge Orlando could share with us. We also toured the National Palace on our own and enjoyed that very much as well but felt a bit rushed trying to do that AND see the town in the time we were allowed. We got to Cascais early so most shops were not open yet so we didn’t get to see much of that but the water view was beautiful.
The private tour was a memorable one for my family (especially the kids) due to the excellent guide Mr. Pedro. He was very informative and paced the itinerary very well so that we get to cover the attractions at the best possible times. The pick-up was on time and due to the excellent planning we reached back to the hotel as scheduled. We had a fantastic time covering Sintra, Pena Palace and Cascais with getting good insights as well into the country's history and cultural aspects. Highly recommend this tour from Celina Tours (if possible with Mr. Pedro as the guide) as its absolutely worth every penny spent.
Our tour guide Manuel was an amazing person and extremely knowledgeable. He was very patient and provided us an amazing experience as well as excellent customer service. 10/10 would recommend touring with him, ended up feeling like he was part of the family. Would travel with them again.
When booking this, triple check the weather and fire warnings as we did not get to see most of the sites due to fire closures. While this is not in the tour operator's control, by the time we were notified it was too late to cancel. Orlando, our tour guide, did his best to adapt to the circumstances, taking us to other locations that were open when we were unable to see the full sights of Sintra and the surrounding areas. Did get to spend a wonderful afternoon in Sintra, enjoying the shops, restaurants, scenery, and general ambience.
Our guide, Pedro, was brimming with knowledge and fun facts about everything we saw that day. He was personable and imparted his wisdom in such an interesting way. We learned so much and enjoyed ourselves all day long. Highly recommend him!
Orlando was a great guide. He shared history and added a fun perspective as we moved from town to town. I would highly recommend any tour by Orlando.
The trip was great and very informative - beautiful countryside, our guide, Diogo, is a proud Lisboa citizen and he told personal stories combined with the history on Sintra, Lisbon and Portugal. He was authentic, very personable and concerned that each of us came away with more knowledge and a very positive experience.
Our tour with Celina Tours in Lisbon was generally enjoyable. Communication via email before the tour was prompt and efficient, with the representative addressing our inquiries swiftly. Our guide, Philip, was punctual and friendly. He shared a wealth of knowledge about the various historical sites. His English was good, albeit with a strong accent, and at times he spoke louder and longer than necessary, which somewhat detracted from appreciating the scenery. Philip was very accommodating, giving us extra time for photos and helping us purchase the right tickets at Sintra. He even took some group photos for us, which was a nice touch. Our group consisted of just eight people, which was comfortable. However, we were all crammed into a small, somewhat outdated minivan. The seating, especially in the front, was tight and uncomfortable, and the vehicle made rattling noises. The glove compartment door kept popping open on the cobblestone roads. Despite these minor inconveniences, the charm of Lisbon's cobblestone streets shone through. A newer vehicle would have enhanced the experience. We would suggest shorter explanations in scenic areas to allow for more enjoyment of the views. Thank you to Celina Tours and Philip for their reliable and honest services. Regards, Mature Couples from Canada and UK.
What a day! It was excellent. Orlando was very knowledgeable and interesting. The whole experience from confirming the tour, making contact the day prior to pickup was first class. Also, Orlando provided valuable insight into the renovations taking place at Peña Palace that saved us both time and money. We would not hesitate to recommend Celina Tours with Orlando. Thanks for the great day.
Pedro was a super star! We learned an incredible amount of Portuguese history, through informative and entertaining stories. He was gracious, fun, interesting and so helpful. This is a “must” tour while in Lisbon, and Pedro took it to the top! Obrigada from Wisconsin, USA.
Pedro was the most friendly, informative, and delightful guide we have the pleasure of being driven by. Please give him a raise.
Avoid the Celina tour group. The worst tour we have been on. Driver kept getting lost and stalling the vehicle and even got pulled over by the cops. The tour states all you will see but there isn’t enough time. The driver even said that in the beginning. We were rushed at the end at Pena Palace. This was so bad we almost took an Uber from Sintra.
The tour was comfortable and well informed. Our guide was very kind and helpful. We had a great time and was able to see all the sights that we wanted. Pena castle was a highlight.
Pedro Gaspar was fantastic and knowledgeable. He made sure we are safe. Very entertaining. Good at maneuvering the traffic at Sintra.
Pedro was an amazing tour guide! We would go with him on a tour again!! He was super knowledgeable and kind!! He even bought us some custard tarts from the best pastry shop in Sintra!!
Such a fun day, if only the weather was better! Our guide, Pedro, was AMAZING and taught our group so much, while not being overwhelming or intense. It was so wonderful having a guide / driver for Sintra, as the roads are difficult to navigate. We never would have been able to see what we saw without a guide! So glad we took the leap and booked this tour!
Well organized, fun and informative. Pedro had a lot of interesting stories. We were very glad we booked this tour.
Pedro is one of the best tour guides I have come across. He was very informative and knows the history of Portugal at the back of his hands. He engaged very well with the group and was punctual. The places we went to were interesting and scenic. It was a weekend, so rather crowded. We did not get the tickets to Regaleira as the queue was too long but if you have time, it is worth the wait. Pena Palace was awesome and Cabo Roca was breathtaking.. I highly recommend this tour and a bonus if you get Pedro as your guide!! Thumbs up!!
Orlando was the BEST tour guide we have ever have, and we have gone on many tours. Orlando was kind, knowledgeable, patient, genuine, flexible, understanding, and had great energy. He treated all of us with great respect and was able to handle group dynamics effectively. There was unfortunately a very rude traveler on the trip who insulted others during the tour, and Orland was able to handle it in a very kind way that still shut down the rudeness. Many thanks to Orlando!
The van was old seats were congested. Van did not have AC for rear passengers as was suffocating. I booked English toe but we were clubbed with French tourists and guide spent most timw with French. We also did not see the locations. Overall a bad experience
Pena palace beautiful ❤️❤️❤️cintra spectacular snd cascais too crowed 😘 cabo roca the view is amazing
Had a great time with Pedro. Lots of interesting information and lots of fun too. Four different nationalities managed with ease. Nothing was too much trouble. Plenty of flexibility so we felt treated like participative adults rather than corralled tourists. Would recommend this trip.
The driver was very nice, but the whole Trip felt like a translation class from English to French. In the process there was no way you could ask questions and seek clarifications. Hope you take all passengers who speak the same language together since it was a group of only 6 adults
