We took this tour in February, and despite the rainy weather, we really enjoyed it. Sintra was beautiful, with the forest looking magical in the rain and Pena Palace having a mysterious atmosphere. Fortunately, the town itself was clear, making it pleasant to explore. Cascais was also a lovely stop, and we had enough free time to enjoy both destinations without feeling rushed. The tour was well organized, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Lisbon.

Itinerary
Pena Palace An astonishing fairytale palace located on one of the highest peaks of the Sintra Mountains. Pena Palace was built in the 19th Century by King consort Ferdinand II of Portugal. He turned a 16th Century monastery ruins into one of the most eclectic palaces in Europe by blending different types of Gothic, Egyptian, Moorish and Renaissance elements to it. Around the palace he created a park where he planted different exotic species of trees from all over the world.
Pass the stunning beaches of Cascais, including the scenic Praia do Guincho.
At the end of the tour your guide will drive through the Natural Park of Sintra to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost site of Continental Europe.
The Boca do Inferno is an interesting cliff formation close to Cascais, which has been given an overly dramatic name of Hell’s Mouth. The ceaseless pounding of the Atlantic Ocean on the cliffs chiselled out a small cave, which subsequently collapsed forming a small bay and natural arch.
Cascais is a delightful Portuguese fishing town, and is the Lisbon’s coastline most popular holiday destination. The town is situated on a beautiful coastline, and during the summer it is a bustling resort, with a buzzing holiday atmosphere.

The guide (Ricardo) was excellent, he arrived on time to pick us up and was very organised and punctual throughout the day. Bothe locations visited were very interesting.
We had a fun-filled trip with our guide Bruno, whose sense of humor made the experience even more enjoyable. The facilities and timing were perfectly organized. I would highly recommend this trip—my favorite highlight was the stunning Pena Palace.
Wonderful excursion with João, best tour guide!!! Highly recommend Sintra and Cascais. We really enjoyed the whole day tour :)
The castle was so beautiful and the view was stunning. Could have been more structured at the beginning of the tour.
Perfect tour! Igor was very friendly, accommodating and impressively knowledgeable. He explained every detail of the tourist destinations at Sintra, Cascais and surrounding sites of Lisbon. Would definitely recommend this company and kudos to our tour guide Igor! Great job!
Excellent trip, very pleased. Igor, our guide, was a delight. Even though he has done this tour probably hundreds of times, he was friendly, energetic & accommodating. I would take this tour again, especially with Igor. Thanks for showing our group a great time!
Had a great time visiting all the locations and the food stop was excellent. Had enough time to enjoy every stop and learned new information.
Our trip to Sintra ,Cabo da Roca and Cascais was amazing. Everything was perfectly organised. Our guide Livramento was very professional and helpful. I would definitely recommend this tour especially with our guide .
Igor was an incredible tour guide! He went above and beyond to ensure our group had a great time, had fun, and learned a lot about Portuguese history and where we were going for the day (Sintra and Cascais). I was added to the tour at the last minute and he was accommodating and so helpful. Great recommendation for a farm restaurant-very authentic and super great food. Our tour even ran late and he made sure to get me right back to where I was staying. Definitely book this tour! I will be back as well!
Fantastic tour and especially a great guide, Igor. He explained wherever we drove to in great detail. I would highly recommend this tour.
We had an amazing day in Sintra and beyond with Antonio. A skilled guide (and driver), we felt safe and comfortable on our day-long journey. We’ve already recommended this excursion to friends. We wouldn’t have been able to make all of the additional stops beyond Sintra (Cascais, Cabo da Roca, Boca do Inferno) on our own, and Antonio made sure we didn they in the perfect sequence to avoid crowds and maximize views (with some fog).
Guide Nuno took us around to Sintra and Cascais. Nice man with humour. Did not only explained over the palace but also about Portugese live. Great lunch at local restaurant
This tour was the highlight of our visit to Lisbon. Igor was an outstanding tour guide; extremely friendly and knowledgeable; communicated exceptionally well in multiple languages. I highly recommend going on this tour for the unique sights you will see. We bought our tickets directly from Go2lisbon.pt.
Had a great day at Sintra and Cascais. Our guide Igor was friendly and gave us many useful tips. With his help we were able to avoid most of the crowd that comes with visiting one of the most popular spots in Portugal.
The. Best. Tour Igor, our tour guide, was knowledgeable, fun, happy, energetic. He brought us to the castle in Sintra early. We beat the lines and had plenty of time to see everything. We had a fabulous lunch and another great time in Cascais. 8 hours flew by. I would highly recommend this tour and especially Igor as a guide.
Our guide, Mauro Diaz, was an energetic and enthusiastic tour guide. He set the mood for a fun and interesting tour of Sintra Palace and Cascais. He made great recommendations for wining and dining in Lisbon, too. I highly recommend this trip as an excursion from Lisbon to see some of the countryside of Portugal.
Really enjoyed our guide Igor. He made our day fun and interesting. Visited Pena Palace and many of the seaside beaches of Sintra. There was 2 couples from Canada and one from Europe. My husband had a knee injury and Igor made sure my husband had a bus ride down the mountain as the Cabs were crazy busy. He took us to some great spots and had a wonderful day. Highly recommend this tour.
Sintra castle is beautiful but you have to be there early as the queues are horrendous. Thankfully this tour does just that and Nuno our guide was excellent. Lunch was extra but as a group we were happy to pay for a good meal and were not disappointed. Great day out!
We had a great time exploring Pena Palace, Sintra and Cascais with Kiko. His enthusiasm and passion for Portuguese history and culture made for a very enjoyable and informative day. We would highly recommend this tour with him. Thank you Kiko!
Our guide was Kiko Charana; he was very informative and passionate about the city. He took us to great places and knew a lot about the areas he took us to. I would highly recommend him to show you around the city as well as other areas such as Sintra and Cascais.
We had a wonderful day in Sintra and Cascais with Igor - an invaluable member of the Go2Lisbon team. He arrived at our meeting place on time and we took off for an early start to Sintra. He was enthusiastic about this tour - and explained to us about the history of the summer palace as well as the beautiful gardens that surround it. All day long he continued to provide us with information about the places we visited, where we should eat, and general information about Lisbon and its recent history. Igor is very good at his job and a pleasure to spend time with. Signed by Holly, Ann, Ann, Sue, Cori, and Jody.
Our family of 4 had a great day with tour guide Igor. He picked us up at our apartment on time and we drove from Lisbon to Sintra. Igor selected a nice coffee shop for a coffee and pastry and then we enjoyed walking around the town and the main castle. Igor is full of information about the history and very pleasant to spend the day with. After Sintra, we drove to a very nice family-owned farm-to-table restaurant and enjoyed a very nice meal. Then off to the coast and more touring in Cascais. Igor speaks excellent English and is really good with adults and teenagers too. He gave us time to walk around on our own periodically throughout the day. He also is an excellent driver. Highly recommend this tour and Igor as a guide.
Great trip for those that want to have the experience of Portuguese towns in the outskirts of Lisbon, learn more about the history of the place and enjoy the beauty of the Atlantic shores. Our tour guide, Antonio, is a very nice guy with deep knowledge of Portuguese history and culture. Many thanks for this experience...
Had a great day on this tour! Our guide Nuno really knows his history and told us great stories throughout the day. Super chill, great guy. The restaurant he recommended for lunch was amazing. Food and service were both great. I totally recommend this tour to anyone visiting Portugal. We got to see and learn so much in a day.
It's a perfect tour if you want to visit Sintra Palace and Cascais. Our guide Matheus speaks perfect Spanish and English and was able to explain everything perfectly even when our group have people speaking those different languages
Both places are quite easy to reach by the local train. It is also very cheap - somtheing like 2,00 EUR one way. From Cascais to Sintra you may go by the local bus. There are two lines: the quickest takes something like 30 minutes. To visit all castles in Sintra in one day is impossible.
Felipe was fantastic from start to finish. He prepared us on the ride over for what we would see. He was a fantastic guide while there, and he knew what to suggest even before we asked. Sintra is beautiful, Pena Palace is fantastic, and Cascais is a really cool place to check out as well. The town of Sintra is beautiful, and knowing that someone was going to be driving you and you do not have to worry about parking or navigating is WELL worth the money you spend. He also brought us to the most amazing local farm that had a restaurant and I cannot say enough how awesome it was. What an experience. Definitely the best way to spend half your day. You're crazy if you do not go with Go2Lisbon and more than anything I hope you are lucky enough to get Felipe as well!
Nelson was engaging and informative the whole day to Sintra, Capo da Roca and Caiscais. As we waited for the last sub-group he explained some about the old Jewish section that we were in. The trip to Sintra got us there before the lineups started. He ensured my knee was not overworked getting into Pena Palace as it is in a brace, and I thank him for that. His recommendations for pastry shops in Sintra was right on. A wonderful host overall.
Thanks Carson for a great tour, we had a nice trip to a few beaches and Cascais. Then enjoyed a great lunch meal near Cabo da Roca at CasaDo Luis Restaurante that included wine, appetizers, very nice main course, coffee and desert for 22 euro. Carson explained a lot of history along the way and during our time in the Pena Palace. We had a group of 7 people and was perfect. He even was nice enough to dropp us at our hotel.
Thanks Igor, and all my companions, for a great day! Was a good way to fish my time off in Portugal.
I'm so happy with the itinerary and the number of places that we've got to see in such a short period of time. Our guide, VLAD, was also amazing and gave us very detail history about all places that we visited and Portugal in general. He's also very fun to talk to, hilarious, and caring towards all the 7 people in the tour.
Very good tour overall. Antonio, our giude was very informative and accommodating. He gave us all the information we needed and more. A great tour guide with great personality. Even though the weather did not cooperate early on we still had a great full day experiencing quite a bit in the time that we had. This trip is recommended.
There were many highlights in this trip - we didn't go to the castle in Sintra (that's a private tour) but did see the Pena Palace and made our way to Cascais, with 3-4 stops along the way. Our guide was Antonio and he was able to accommodate different languages professionally and knew a lot of history and stories about the places we visited which was awesome. I'd really recommend this trip. Trying to do this on your own would be a real headache - and you wouldn't see half what we saw and have context for the places.
Took a day tour with Go2Lisbon - Sintra Castles and Cascais. Our guide Alex was excellent and very knowledgeable about history of the world/Portugal. He recommended a great change to the route - where we went to Cascais and the most Western point of continental Europe first - followed up Sintra Pena Castle. This way, we were able to save on time waiting in line to get into the casle. Lunch break was also great - free time allowed us to visit Quinta de Regaleira - very much recommended park. Thank you Alex for a great tour!

We had an amazing tour with Miguel on this day long journey from Lisbon to Sintra to Cascais. Our tour had five people on it, which made it even more fun. We spent over an hour at the Castle and gardens. The setting was magnificent and the castle was beautiful. Then we drove, making several more stops, to look at beautiful lakes, the ocean, etc. Off the beaten track was the nice restaurant that we went to for lunch. The food and service were good, but I felt that 20 euros additional per person was a bit high, considering the cost of the trip. Lunch did include wine for the table. Later that day we visited Cascais, the most beautiful village on the ocean. Unfortunately we did not have enough time to really enjoy the stop, as we had to get back to Lisbon. That was disappointing.

Both the agency when hiring the tour and the guide were highly efficient!!! Bruno our guide not only told us the things about the tour but also extended to details that were frankly anecdotal!!! A pleasure and recommendation of 10!!!
José our driver is very experienced and friendly and gives very good explanations we recommend.
Beautiful place, worth visiting, is a must. The tour was very good because our guide Bruno was also nice, very friendly and explained everything very well besides taking very good photos. Took us somewhere to eat delicious. !! 10 out of 10 everything
The castle is very nice, we also saw Sintra, Cabo da Roca and Cascéis, but the driver drove fatally and we felt afraid on several occasions. Dire driving!
Magnificent excursion. We hired a private tour for 7 people and Paolo took us everywhere very gracefully and effectively. He explained many things to us in the Palace of Pena q made us enjoy it more if possible. Then at the end of Rock and in Cascais we advised very well to eat. Unforgettable day, thank you Paolo
We joined this day trip in Cascais. Wonderful nature on the way to Sintra. So green and hilly. Thanks to the perfect organization and timing of our guide Paulo, from Tugatrips, we were able to enter anywhere with our small group without having to join the long lines everywhere. Our guide also took into account the condition of his guests and several times an alternative was offered to the participants. For example, there could be chosen for a walk uphill or rather a shuttle bus. Still some stairs to do here.
If you are in Lisbon one day you must employ and organize to go to Sintra. Surely you should buy the ticket online possibly for lunchtime or a little more... we had the entrance to the castle at 2.30 pm and it was almost perfect... here's why: Departing from Lisbon Tossio train station at 10 am we arrive in Sintra at 11 am here must take the bus that leads to the castle another 40-50 minutes due to traffic, after eating a sandwich brought from Lisbon we enter the park... access at any time regardless of the time in the ticket because that time is for the castle. In fact, after waiting for the shuttle (which we had purchased together with the ticket) on site you can not do, but you can get there on foot by doing a little 'climb... we visit all the exteriors of the castle and arrive at 2.15 pm and get in line to enter the castle. Experience to do because it's really great Highly recommended
If you can avoid it better, scam, deceit and loot the castle of Sintra. Terrible organization and information to access, if you get lost or lost it takes you at least half an hour to return to the starting point. “They force you” to park in the town and take one of the taxis designed for that purpose (wagon, vintage, etc.), and here you start to spend money (7:50 per person), once you arrive near the castle A small bus awaits you to complete the climb of about 500 meters at €3 per person (one way, if you want to get off by bus later, another €3), oh if you're thirsty and don't bring water, wow 1.70 a 500 cl bottle. In short, the castle is beautiful and picturesque, especially because of the location, but it is nothing out of this world and your wallet will thank you for it.
Our guide Maeva was great, available, attentive. The site is fantastic and I highly recommend taking this tour with this company.
We were a group of 12, with the guide Antonio to Sintra, Cascais and Cabo da Roca. It was all spectacular, the good vibe, the explanation. Congratulations Antonio, Dimas and team. I recommend 100% Service.
Thank you to Deborah for her kindness and involvement in English and French. I think we didn’t spend enough time in Sintra Park around the castle. But especially the lunch restaurant was a disaster at Muchaxo (see my review on Trip Advisor about this museum)
Want a tip? Save your time and money. I arrived today, April 18, 2022 and was the biggest disappointment of the trip. We took a bus in front of the train station and paid 23 euros (me and my husband). I found it pretty expensive. Arriving at the Palace we saw a large queue to buy tickets. We asked a boy about buying the tickets with cash and he told us that in the guiches they would accept. Another queue. Vc has two entry options: - park for 7 euros - park + palace for 14 euros. He said he had no interest in the park and the girl informed us that the ticket was for the two (there was no option only palace). We bought the tickets and she told us that she would put our entrance to 12:30. That was 11:25. We asked if she could come in earlier and she told us she would not. I said to get in the queue a little earlier because there was a lot of people. Okay, we agree. We saw a bus stop at the entrance and we were in line. To our surprise, the young man said that to get on the bus would cost 2 euros extra per Cover. A bizarre! We went on foot. Upon arriving there we encountered hundreds of Cover in the entrance queue. Hundreds! We went up to the cafeteria and it was impossible to buy water because the queue was also huge. We were in line to enter the castle for 20 minutes and walked a few steps. We would never be able to enter the scheduled time! NEVER! We became indignant and decided to return and request our refund. This is the end of the queue (photo). See how the Castle is far away. Total despair! The same woman who served us in the guiches was responsible for being rude and saying she warned! He warned you would have 30 minutes to wait, not an entire afternoon. It was extremely rude and poorly polite. It just didn't give the least! We spoke with security Pedro who said he couldn't do anything for us. You gave us an email and said that to get in touch with them. I saw a couple of foreigners who also wanted the refund due to the schedule and they also got without information. A disappointment! An absurd! A ticket sale that could not happen once people can't get in. I do not recommend it in any way. Save your money and go for lunch at Azenhas do Mar. Good food and spectacular views. #fiadica
Pena Castle was the part of the excursion that we liked the most. Lidia’s meal recommendation, our guide, was very successful
Excellent day thanks to an exceptional guide: Nuno explained the history of his country in great detail and guided us to Sintra Palace and then, after a gourmet stop, to the seaside.Thank you Nuno for your humor and open-mindedness that made our little American-German-French group one of the highlights of our stay in Lisbon. Thanks also for all these anecdotes that made us discover and love Portugal more.
