Suzanna was the most incredible guide. She was attentive to our needs; extremely knowledgeable about the history of every site we visited and the areas along the way; so interesting; such an upbeat personality; and made us feel like VIP’s. We had a great all day private tour of Sintra, Cascais, and Cabo da Roca with Nuno from Van Go Tours! Nuno was the absolute best, he is from Portugal and has all the knowledge and history!! He took many pictures of us and guided to the best places including our lunch restaurant! I highly recommend Nuno and Van Go Tours!!

We had a terrific day with experienced and affable guide, Nuno. VanGo provides top notch service. The Sintra experience is beautiful and unique. Pena Palace, the Moorish Castle and the Quinta da Regaleira were each fabulous sights made all the more interesting by Nuno. The vistas from the castle were breathtaking from the mountainous heights all the way to the sea. The Initiation Well at the Regaleira is like nothing else I’ve seen. Pena Palace is an amazing mashup of color, architectural styles and beauty. There was plenty of time for lunch and shopping in the village of Sintra. It was a great day.

Awesome tour with Nuno of Obidos and Cascais

This was our second one day tour with Van Go Tours and our guide Nuno. He is a very punctual person and was ready for us at the hotel. We started off the day with a lot of history as we took the 30 minute drive to Sintra. We learned all about Pena Palace and the Quinta Regaleira which we were about to visit that morning. We were lucky to have Nuno who had the foresight to book the shuttle to Pena Palace which saved us some time and leg strength. We were so efficient yet not rushed. We saw everything in an hour because we had the first time slot tickets for the day, 9:30 AM. Highly recommend to go first thing because the crowd started to build up after only one hour and it’s harder to move around and take pictures. The beauty of the palace is unlike any other in Europe. Next was a quick tour of Sintra historical center, and we tried the dessert travesseiros de Sintra which is a sweet almond and egg custard flat roll. Next up was Quinta Regaleira and the initiation well is everything you see in the photos. But being inside is the experience I will never forget. A tip: try not to wear a long dress because the ground is wet. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous. Would recommend spending at least 90 minutes here. After a lunch at a Famous Pl., Toca do Julio, we went to Roca Cape, which is the westernmost point of continental Europe for a fun photo stop. We drove through Cascais, which was very busy due to the holiday. It’s a very beautiful seaside town. I cannot say how much having as our guide made a huge difference in terms of enjoyment, efficiency, knowledge, and just in general you can tell he is a good person. He went out of his way to make a second stop to drop me off by myself at my accommodation since my husband was ill and he did not want me to be alone taking the subway back from my friends’s hotel. He went above and beyond!

My daughter and I had the most amazing experience seeing the greater Lisbon area through the eyes of an extremely knowledgeable guide! Will be sharing our experience with friends is the USA and will be talking about the memories made for our lifetime ❤️

My husband and I spent a beautiful week in Portugal. One of our favorite experiences was an all day guided tour of Lisbon, with our fabulous guide Susana and privat driver, Nunu. Susana was a wealth of knowledge of history, customs and culture. She was genuinely warm and caring and made our day special. We highly recommend this tour.

It was very comfortable and informative, and made seeing so many beautiful things in Portugal very easy, pleasant and efficient. Nuno was very kind and adapted to our wants and needs as much as possible. A lot was included in the price and the comfort was next level. Pena was beaufiful and very impressive, as well as the view from Cabo da Roca. Cascais is nice if you want to see some nice shops. The car was great, with AC, Wi-Fi and complementary water, but the best thing was Nuno explaining the history of the place in a friendly manner. It felt like we left with a friend!

We had a fabulous day with Nuno from Van GO tourism. Due to the wildfires, Nuno had to adjust our sightseeing itinerary. It was a seamless transition. My daughter and I booked a tour to Sintra which was amazing. We were picked up by our guide Bernardo ( on time) in a very clean sprinter van, offered some bottled water, and then on our way. Bernardo's English was very good, which made it easy to understand the story of Sintra. His knowledge of not just Sintra but of Spain in general was better than any book we could have read. You can tell he does a lot of studying on history. It rained most of the day, but we didn't really care because the tour was so beautiful and interesting. Originally, I planned on renting a car and seeing the sights on our own but we would not have been able to navigate to the castle and would have missed out on the history. You must book Van Go Tourism for professionalism, the best history lesson, and fun. Thank you Berardo for a great tour and day!

Joao took us on a tour of Lisbon. He was excellent in his knowledge of the city, personality and charisma. He is a very hard worker and he gives 100%. Susana took us to Sintra, Roca Cape and Cascais. Just like Joao was excellent. She has unbelievable energy. She went out of her way to please us, she catered to our needs. We highly recommend both of them.

The whole tour was excellent, our guide was Susanna. She arrived in time, was very organized and very knowleadgable about everything, what surprised me is that she was able to answer not just questions we had about the history and monuments, she also was able to answer questions about the flora and fauna, and any other details. Was very friendly and positive. We travelled with my mum who needed breaks walking, and Susanna was very patient. I would recommend these tours to anyone going to visit sites out of the city, if it weren't with the tour, we wouldn't have see as much as we did.

We had an amazing day with our tour guide Susana. She was just wonderful! We toured 2 palaces in Sintra and we learned so much history because of her. We were so happy with the tour of Sintra and places along the way back to Lisbon. Five star experience all around. We did 4 days of various tours (Lisbon, Sintra, Evora and Obidos) with Susana of VanGo Tourism. Susana is AMAZING, she has so much to share at each destination and takes care of you from start to finish. She even pays attention to the small details of showing you the best lunch places, unique shops and best pastries. Organizing the tours on the front end was also seamless with Margarita. Will use VanGo Tourism again when we return to Portugal.

WONDERFUL!!! A group of 6 did 2 tour days with VanGo Tourism. Margarida was so responsive and helpful with our planning. We were able to customize the tours. She also helped us with finding a mass on Easter Sunday, which was one of our tour days. We had Susana as our guide on both days and she was fabulous. A friend by the end. For our first tour we went to Sintra, Cascais, Estoril coast, and sights in Belem. There was the strike in Sintra on our tour day. We toured the town and were able to go to Quinta de Regaleira- which was fabulous. Susana got us there early and gave us a great tour. The beaches, coast and Belem were also wonderful. Our second day was our transport from Lisbon to Porto with stops in Obidos, Nazare, and Fatima. Again, Susana's knowledge, enthusiasm, and love of the country was phenomenal. It was a comfortable ride and she was able to fit all of our luggage in the vehicle - which was no easy task;) Susana also took us to wonderful places for lunch. Excellent call by Susana to get us to the Pena Palace by 9am.! Afterwards, the lines were so long and would have ruined the experience for us. She gave us details of the palace's history as well as the growth of the surrounding Sintra area. Lunch in the village and the delicious pastry treats were a definite plus (as well as meeting Margarida from Van Go). I would like to highly recommend Susana of VanGo Tourism for your tour guide when visiting Portugal in general and our day at Sintra did not disappoint. As a group of six, Susana picked up us bright and early so that we arrived at Pena Palace for the first tours up. Thank goodness she knew what she was doing because the Palace was so crowded later on! The scenery in the park is stunning with all the different trees and fauna. Susana guided us through the palace with all the history we could ask for. (Other tour guides merely read the displayed materials). We toured the park afterwards -- kudos to Susana's driving as some of those streets are SO narrow. We had a great lunch in Sintra, did a little shopping, then went on to enjoy the scenery of Cape Roca, the westernmost point of Portugal and all of Europe! Then on to the sites of Cascais and the Estoril coast as we worked our way home, while being informed of all the historic sites along the way. A word about Susana here; it was like touring with a knowledgeable good friend; she keeps a well stocked cooler to keep us hydrated, and even went way beyond to treat us with the most delicious pastries I have ever had! Our guide, Susana, made sure that we were on the first shuttle up "the mountain" to Pena Palace and a 9:30 tour of the Palace. She guided us through and showed us all of the highlights. We saw the interior and then she took us around the exterior so we could see the beautiful views despite fog that morning. We were there for a few hours and when we left, the line to get in was unbelievably long. Thanks to Susana for getting us there early. We had a nice lunch at Romaria de Baco in the village of Sintra and had some time to shop. We had a nice surprise when we went for Travesseiro pastry and there was Margarida of Van Go! It was so nice to meet her. We then viewed the other attractions in Sintra. Then we headed to Cape Roca and saw the lighthouse. A beautiful drive along the coast including Cascais & the beaches of Guincho. It was a beautiful day and thanks to Susana for beating the crowds and for her knowledge of Sintra and the coast!

We started our day at Pena Palace with Susana as our tour guide, luckily for us Susana knows her stuff and got us there bright and early before the crowds descended. What a beautiful palace surrounded by lush landscape. Lunch was at a nice restaurant near the national palace then we were off to Roca Cape with its picturesque lighthouse and amazing views. We drove along the ocean on our way back to Lisbon marveling at the huge cliffs and beach views. Susana was great she really knows Portugal and its history, The ride was comfortable and the day was perfect.

Susanna was an amazing guide. Very knowledgeable and kind. Our entire family, including two teenagers, had a great time thanks to Susanna.

Our experience was top notch in every way. Margarida was quick to respond to all inquiries and always very helpful. We actually had this trip planned for April 2020, but when we had to cancel because of COVID, we were not charged and Margarida’s response was warm and compassionate despite the fact that as a tourist oriented company, I am sure that it was a very challenging time for them. Susana, who was our guide, was truly amazing. She was so attentive and carrying. There was not a moment all day long were she seemed anything less than fully invested in making sure that we had a wonderful time, which we did. She even reordered the plan for the day, so we could avoid crowds, as our tour day was on a holiday and beach areas were expected to be crowded later in the day. We started the day expecting a nice visit to some beautiful places, which was certainly the case but we end the day being enamored with the beauty of Portugal and with a new friend in Susana to boot. We would love to do a multi day tour with her someday. We have no hesitation at all to strongly recommend the tour, Vangotourism and Susana.

Susana was very knowledgeable and organized guide with transfers in her comfortable, clean Mercedes’ van. We didn’t have to wait in lines and she caters the tour to your interests.

This was our second tour with Susana. We enjoyed the tour of Tomar with her so much we immediately booked the tour to Sintra with her. She was an incredible guide Susana. She was very knowledgeable, gracious, quick to answer questions and accommodating of the needs of a diverse group (adults, teenagers and elderly parents with mobility challenges). She made sure that everyone in the group had a good time and got the most out of the experience. She offered ideas about places to explore in Lisbon and wonderful suggestions for restaurants. Suzana was amazing! Great knowledge of the Sintra history and its palaces. She was very professional but very personable and flexible. I am recommending Suzana to my American friends since she is fluent in English and I know she will take care of them like I would.

Susana’s tour was awesome. She was interesting and fun. She knew tons of facts about Peña Palace and Regaleira. Everyone loved her. She had great recommendations for everything from what to see to where to eat. Even the local bakery she chose was fantastic. If you want a wonderful experience in Sintra and Cascais, she is the guide to book. We wanted to book her for more days, but she was already booked! You will not be disappointed.

We had a wonderful private tour experience with Diogo! We started the day early at Cabo da Roca, continued to Sintra palaces and village, and then through Belem to Lisbon. This tour was guided to our interests and helped us make the most of our time. The office also responded quickly via email. I'd highly recommend this company for a private tour!!

Amazing experience. Private tour, we got picked up by a large van, super comfortable. In particular, during the times of covid, the organizers go out of their way to make sure everyone feels comfortable. Our guide Diogo arrived on time, took a great care of us. Came up with a great agenda and taught us a lot of history. Very entertaining, caring and funny. Amazing sightseeing and equally amazing culinary experience. Diogo took us to great restaurants, and showed us some amazing views, hidden gems. We fell in love with Portugal and some of it is definitely because of this tour. ❤️

We thoroughly enjoyed our outing with Susana, who took us on a fantastic, private tour of Sintra in July. Her luxury van with wifi was extremely comfortable and convenient, her taste in restaurants was impeccable, and her knowledge of the region was comprehensive. As a tour guide she was incredibly accommodating—always very hospitable, thoughtful, and flexible. The whole experience was a true highlight of our time in Portugal. Thank you, this was a memorable, really nice tour! We saw many great locations, with in-depth explanations, stories of the background, and great historical insights that really allowed us to understand the developments in their actual context. Scenery was simply superb. Everything was very pleasant and smoothly arranged, and we had lots of fun together! The lunch at the seaside restaurant was also wonderful, with a personally arranged nice table and excellent fish and seafood. We got some good tips for our remaining stay in Lisbon, too. Fantastic tour. It was a great idea to contact Van Go Tourism as they where very helpful planning our holidays in Portugal.It was suggested that we visit Sintra, a fairytale village with very interesting monuments that are classified by UNESCO as protected cultural landscape, where we had the privilege of having a private guided tour of the following monuments: Regaleira Estate and Pena Palace. Cabo da Roca was a pleasant surprise as it is the most western point of the European continent with breathtaking views and luscious scenery. Cascais is a luxury city situated near Lisbon that is located by the coast and where many expats live because of the quality of lifestyle. There are gorgeous restaurants, cafes and cosy beaches. Van Go Tourism was a fantastic choice because they are very helpful in organising our stay in Portugal and the staff is very nice and speak fantastic English, always aware of our needs and also suggesting other points of interest and restaurants that we can visit during our stay in this beautiful country. Their knowledge of the countries history is astounding. On our next visit we are planning to do a 2 week private circuit, where we will have the opportunity to visit main attractions from Porto to the Algarve. Would highly recommend Van Go Tourism, you won't go wrong.

We took a Sintra day trip with Susanna. We had a broad range of ages along (teens through late sixties). Susanna adjusted our schedule to provide us with the very best experience! She was very knowledgeable and listened intently and answered as my husband asked a ton of questions about everything under the sun! She went above and beyond by getting us a table with the best ocean view for an authentic seafood lunch. Susanna’s knowledge was top notch! We are already trying to fit another visit in the Portugal in the next couple years and plan to ask Susanna along for the trip!!

I am more than happy to manage to visit the Sintra monuments with Susana, Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira guided visit. We taste the Travesseiro special pastry in Piriquita pastry shop and afterwards we had a beautiful lunch beach view in Azenhas do Mar. To finish our wonderful day, we visited Cape Roca and Cascais, driving ocean side until Lisbon.

Four adults booked this tour after researching lots of options. Susana was a great guide and we were happy to spend the day with her. She went above and beyond for us and we just loved the whole day. There were some things going on in Sintra that we would have never known about and without Susana we likely would not have loved Sintra the way we do and it would not have been a great day for us. My advice is that if you plan a trip to Lisbon and are thinking of going to Sintra use Van Go Tourism and sit back and enjoy.
