I spent a lot of time trying to find the perfect tour and luckily I found this one. We had a brilliant day with Bruno as our guide. He shared his knowledge and hidden details that we would have missed other wise.

I am so happy that we booked this tour with Bruno. Right from the beginning he was so patient and accommodating. We are a family of four with 10yo and 7yo. I knew it may be challenging at times as there is some walking involved but thanks to his knowledge and experience he was able to get us places fairly quickly before the big crowds arrived. He is a wealth of knowledge!!!! So many interesting stops along the way that he would point out to us. Without his knowledge you would miss it. After Sintra we stopped for delicious lunch and breathtaking views. He also took photos of us and shared some additional pictures via whatsup. Sintra is a magical place that gets pretty busy so if you want to make it as easy as possible on yourself be sure to book a tour with this company and ask for Bruno!!! .Thank you for an amazing day :-)
The tour was expertly guided by Bruno who navigated through multiple traffic obstacles to make sure we experienced the Pena Palace, Sinatra Village, and seaside Cascais to the fullest. His knowledge of history and culture brought everything to life. This is an amazing tour and a day well-spent.
Bruno is an excellent tourist guide, well time planned, accesible, give good recommendations for places to eat, respectful and speak three languages, so he kept the group well informed. The REGALEIRA was viewed from a distance point in the mountain. No time to take pictures outside the building or its exterior landscape because time was not sufficient. Although the client could decide whether to explore the center of sintra and the national palace or to explore REGALEIRA. Those whose stay in the center were on time to reach the meeting point with Bruno. REGALEIRA still is a point of interest to tourists , so I recommend that Viator and operators include more time to visit the “pozo” of the REGALEIRA and the center (both), with some control of time to tourists. Because in the title of the tour it include the name REGALEIRA and this creates some expectation to tourist. And besides, the operators give instructions that those who want to visit REGALEIRA can buy the ticket individually in the 12 slot. To control or prevent that the group be divided, I recommend to take the group to both places with control of time. Because in the REGALEIRA there are notices by the operator that person could be lost in the gardens. Overall, that was an excellent experience of Sintra, pena palaces, Cascais, Cabo da Roca, Estoril, and the center where originally picked up.
Our tour guide, Bruno, was very informative and friendly. We had an amazing tour of Sintra, Pena Palace, Costa Roca and Cascais. Beautiful scenery. Bruno was very helpful with tips in what restaurants to check out and the best pastries in Sintra! Bravo Bruno!
Excellent! Bruno was outstanding, his running commentary perfectly complemented the sites visited. His attention to us was really appreciated.
This was a great experience. We got to see so much in a short time and had time for a relaxing lunch and to explore on our own. Bruno was an amazing guide! He was so informative, took photos for us, gave recommendations. We couldn’t have asked for a better day!
A lovely day trip to Sintra and Cascais with guide, Miguel. He was professional, providing information beforehand. On the day, he was prompt, friendly and informative - flitting between Spanish and English for the benefit of the multilingual group. At Sintra, before visiting the sites, he surprised us with a delicious complimentary treat. He also recommended a delicious pastry at a bakery in Sintra. We returned to Lisbon promptly and Miguel was flexible with drop-offs. All in all, a wonderful trip. Note some sites are self-guided.
Bruno customized the trip to the weather and our walking abilities to a tee. He was so flexible for what we wanted to do, certainly within the plan of the tour. Thankfully, for us, a second couple that was booked to join the tour did not so we were able to really do exactly what we wanted to do and Bruno could not have been more accommodating. The length of the stop was perfecf each time. We never felt hurried or rushed. We are both so glad we took this tour and that Bruno was our guide. Well worth every dime!
Very knowledgeable guide , caring and fun!
Miguel was a master class in history. He was so knowledgeable and made the experience delightful. As a first timer to Portugal he was so generous and kind offering all kinds a suggestions for things to do. So glad I took the tour.
Great day trip to some amazing places!
Miguel was perhaps one of the most friendly and knowledgeable persons we've met. I really enjoyed his quick history, bantering, and learning through him. Would highly recommend!
Fantastic experience. Our guide Miguel was an excellent guide. Great for kids despite lots of walking for a little one but he pulled through like a champ. Make sure to book the monument ticket entrances ahead of time as some sell out day of. Thank you!
We had a beautiful tour to Sintra, Pena Palace, and Cascais with our guide Miguel. Everything was very well organized, and Miguel was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable, making the day both relaxing and informative. In Sintra, we walked through the charming streets and visited the square in front of the Sintra National Palace, where there was a delightful Christmas market full of activities for kids. We took pictures with Santa Claus and witnessed families coming together to enjoy the true spirit of Christmas, which made the experience even more special. Pena Palace was absolutely breathtaking with its colors, views, and history. We also stopped by Gincho Beach, a stunning coastal spot where we could admire the natural beauty and ocean views. Cascais felt like an enchanted small city, beautifully decorated and filled with the spirit of Christmas. They also had a lovely Christmas market along the boardwalk, which was the perfect way to end the day. We enjoyed a delicious outdoor lunch, with perfect weather, amazing seafood, and refreshing sangria, which truly completed the experience. Overall, it was a perfectly guided day and a wonderful, memorable experience. I highly recommend this tour, especially with Miguel as your guide!
Spent a lovely day out with our guide who showed us the main sights. He provided some interesting facts about the 3 areas which we visited : Park and National Palace of Pena : we only visited the outside area. The views from the top were stunning. Sintra : quant town Cascais : picturesque fishing village We chose not to visit the Quinta da Regaleira
The place is amazing and I'd recommend anyone visiting Portugal not to miss it! The Palace is out of this world, and the town of Sentra is worth seeing too. What added to the experience is the tour guide Miguel, who was very friendly and informative, cheerful and welcoming all the time for any suggestion or question. Huda gave us also some tips when asked about places in Lisbon and the airport!
A great small group day trip! The perfect itinerary & well paced to see all the major sights- Pena Palace, Sintra town, Quinta da Regaleira, Cascais. Miguel was a great guide sharing lots of info & personal insights. Highly recommend.
Jaime was on time for our pick up, professional and fantastic tour guide! It was a fabulous experience.
Miguel was an exceptional tour guide. His warmth, energy and knowledge made the experience meaningful and so much fun!
Miguel was great! Very knowledgeable very friendly. The right amount of history at each stop. Had a small group and was so great. 10/10!
This tour took us out of Lisbon for a day to the Sintra area as well as the resort town of Cascais. We bought the tickets to tour the Pena Palace and the Regaleria ahead of time which worked out well. The tour guide was knowledgeable and helpful. We were back in Lisbon before 5 pm.
We had a truly wonderful tour today with our guide, João. We especially appreciated the detailed information he shared about every place we visited, and his attentive approach to everyone in the group made us feel well taken care of. We highly recommend this tour!
It was a very nice tour, well organized, nice guide who was the driver and he was very patient. Overall, we had a good time.
They need to book this tour it was a beautiful experience in whole with a lot of history. Make sure you purchase tickets for the interior as well the gardens the palace views are breathtaking
I highly recommend it! The sites were stunning, the landmarks and surroundings were so Bret! Our guide, Joao Almeida was very attentive!
Tour guide was a nice person but lacked enthusiasm. The night before we took the free tour of Lisbon and had a high energy guide who went above and beyond sharing her excitement and suggesting restaurants and places to visit during the rest of our stay. The contrast with this tour guide was striking. The Pena castle was closed due to high risk of fire but he could have made the tour more fun anyway. We went to the town of Sentra where he couldn’t even recommend a vegan restaurant although it turned out there is a vegan restaurant and an Indian restaurant with vegan dishes on their menu. On the way back to Lisbon he didn’t say a word. Another problem was that people on the tour spoke 3 different languages so he repeated everything in 3 languages but we all lost out on hearing each others questions and answers. He never repeated the questions and answers in the other languages, The tour guide answered questions only in the language it was asked. He seemed like a very nice man and maybe he just happened to be sad that day, but to us he didn’t seem to have the bubbly or engaging personality needed for a good tour guide and seemed to want to do minimum and get the job done.
Loved the tour and our tour guide Bruno was fabulous and helpful! His knowledge was excellent and he attended to every need our small group had!
Wonderful historical sights not far from Lisboa, beautiful gardens! Very friendly and competent guide.
This was an excellent tour with our excellent guide, João. He was very informative and kept everything on time and running smoothly. Thank you!
Pedro was a great tour guide. We had a very memorable experience and he was very patient when we couldn’t access our Palace tickets. He was able to keep everyone engaged and shared a lot of useful and interesting information about Sintra and surrounding areas. Overall, I would do it again. Our only wish would’ve been a longer visit in Cascais as we only had one hour
We had a great time with Bruno guiding us the way! He was so informative and walked all the way with us through the Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleiera! He stayed with us in the line for the initiation well and gave us so much background about it that we didn’t know! Definitely recommend this tour, we ended at Cascais for a beautiful end to the day by the beach before heading back to the hotel.
Trip was awesome and Miguel was amazing! He was a wealth of knowledge and history. We were able to cover a lot of ground before the crowds started since my tour was on an early morning, weekday. I felt safe and well taken care of, especially being a solo traveler. I had plenty of time to explore and his recommendations for restaurants and shopping were spot on!
Booked early but didn’t understood entrance tix to Pena palace were separate $165 didn’t include entrance fee :(
John was a great tour guide! The Regaleria was spectacular. So glad my husband and I took the day trip, especially with the surprise beach moment at Caiscais.
Tickets into Pena Palace and Quinta Regalia are not included. Time in Quinta Regalia is pretty short if you choose to do the Initiation Well. The gardens are beautiful, so if you want to spend more than 1.5 hrs there you might want to do the other tour that doesn't include the other two stops. Overall the experience was lovely, the small tour made things run on time.
It was good trip but a lot of walking ,uphill and downhill. Our guide Joao was great and very helpful . He helped get our tickets for the Initial Well.
Bruno was a fantastic tour guide. He provided the right amount of guided tour and free time at the sites. He was also great at ensuring we beat the crowds at the busy locations. I highly recommend this tour if you are looking for a day trip to Sintra
Jamie our tour guide was so friendly and knowledgeable and gave us time to ourselves to explore and walk around
The driver was extremely knowledgable, superfriendly and helpful at all times. He really knew his stuff. Sitting at the real seats we had problems hearing him at times becayse of the car noise. A microphone might be a good idea. And the lunch time ar Sintra Town might have been a little shorter in order to give us more time in Calcais. But overall, we cannot complain. The tour included pickup up at our hotel which was a Great advantage. Continue your good work!!
The sights on this tour were amazing, and the guide services were equally excellent. We saw a LOT but never felt rushed. We also learned many historical details from our guide Bruno. Would definitely take another tour with Road Trip Sintra & Lisboa.
The guide was great. He adapted and modified the tour based on admission times to two of the sites we were to visit
We had an amazing tour where we loved the views and learned a lot thanks to our guide Bruno. Bruno was friendly, gave us the best advice about visits and food and he had an impressive knowledge about the places we visited. Sintra is beautiful esp. the gardens of Quinta de Regaleiras. We didn’t like so much Cascais.
We had a wonderful time visiting these locations and our tour guide was awesome! He was very helpful and fun to be around.
This tour was fantastic, Miguel is a great guide. Full day, Hotel pick up at 745, small tour, stopped for fresh, local, Pastel de nata en route to Pena Palace. Arrived before 9, beat the queues and crowds. Miguel gave us the history and time for us to see everything. Next stop, Sintra town and Quinta da Regaleira. Again, Miguel gave us the history, and allowed time to see everything. Quinta da Regaleira, was beautiful, very calm and picturesque. Initation Well is a must. Sintra town, had enough time to visit the Jewish area and National Palace of Sintra, without feeling rushed. Next stop the seaside town of Cascais. On the beach, this was a highlight for us, would recommend people stay here rather than Lisbon. Great vibes, lovely bars and restaurants, variety of shops, a local hangout, trains direct to lisbon until 1am!! Dropped back to the hotel by 5pm. Thanks Miguel, would def recommend you're tour to anyone visiting the Lisbon area!
Sorry for the delay. Miguel was a spectacular guide. LED when needed. Gave us free time to wander with great insights to guide our way. Excellent recommendations to truly experience the area. Highly recommend
Miquel super friendly and very knowledgeable. The trip was well organized, free time and tours - were are well balanced throughout the day
João (tour guide) was amazing for the entire day. An 8-9 hour tour is a long day. However, João made it a very pleasant day. He picked us up from our hotel, gave multiple food/shopping locations, and had amazing jokes during the day. He really made the day awesome! 10/10 recommend
What a great tour! This was our first time in Portugal and our 13 and 14 year old first time in Europe. We couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide. We were suppose to meet at 7:45 am but no one was at our Airbnb til 8 to check out and store our luggage. Diogo was super friendly and flexible. I know we made his other group a little upset but he handled it like a pro. He was knowledgeable about everything we saw, gave us good advice on on touring the places he brought us to and even great suggestions of places to visit while we toured other areas. Thank you for showing us such a great time!!
Diogo was one of the best guides I have encountered on a Viator booking. First he is very courteous, on-time, and accommodating to all guests in the group. His information is great, He made sure we all could get the most out of each part of the itinerary and did so with a lot of energy and enthusiasm. While Sintra was quite foggy and misty the experience was enjoyable. As a note there are some steep uphill walks to get to the palace and one should be aware of this.
