Sintra, Pena Palace,cabo And Cascais Small Group Tour From Lisbon

The experience we had was great. Our driver/guide was very engaging and knowledgeable. We were able to see the many places that we had hoped to visit with a personal touch.

This was a most perfect tour! It started when the manager of this company elected to honor my tour when I had to cancel within 24 hours due to my inbound airline flight being cancelled. How graciously they did this & how appreciative I am! My tour was greatly enhanced with our tour conductor, Ricardo. He was not only informative, courteous, and professional, but he also had the talent to relay historical facts in various historic stories which made it so interesting and easier to remember. Overall, I would more than highly recommend this tour for the integrity of the company & the tour conductor. If you can request, Ricardo, do so. Tell him Laura will see about introducing him to Madonna! 😉

We had an amazing time on this guided tour trip. This was a small group setting with a guide who did a fantastic job! Ricardo shared his knowledge regarding the history, culture, geography, and botanics for each of the destinations. Excellent day trip, the highlight was the Pena Palace at Sintra but we enjoyed the morning spent at the coast too and time in Sintra. Our guide Jamie was excellent, very knowledgeable and good humoured.

I had such a fun and memorable experience on the Sintra, Pena Palace, Cabo da Roca and Cascais Small Group Tour! Our tour leader, Ricardo, was fantastic. He shared so many interesting stories and details about each place we visited, and he made the whole experience fun and engaging. You could really tell that he enjoys what he does! We were in a small group of 8 and it was a nice size for this day trip from Lisbon. Jaoa was our guide for the day and he was amazing . So knowledgeable and entertaining! The day flowed seamlessly from an easy pickup to drop off. Definitely a recommend !

Ricardo was absolutely fantastic and he helped exceed all our expectations! He has wonderful energy, warmth and fantastic sense of humour. He is a brilliant storyteller who brought Portuguese culture and history to life in such an engaging way. We felt completely safe in his care throughout. His driving was excellent, with great awareness and confidence, and we always felt we were in very capable hands. Ricardo is also a wonderful teacher. He welcomed all our questions and gave thoughtful, holistic answers, offering balanced and intelligent perspectives on Portuguese culture, history and life. We learned so much while having a great time. The tour sites themselves are simply unmissable, and Ricardo’s knowledge and way of bringing each place to life made them even more special. He truly exceeded our expectations, and we would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone visiting Portugal. Five stars without hesitation!

We had a wonderful time on our day trip. Our guide Miguel provided an incredible insight into the romantic times in Portugal as we toured the palace in Sintra. He was very thoughtful in keeping everyone engaged and using their names when speaking with them throughout the day and even helpedus skip the long lines at the Sintra Palace. The van was comfy, perfect for a fun escape from Lisbon. Cascais is a cute little village, a nice place to get coffee and walk around. We enjoyed our time walking by yhe water and watching the fishing boats. Thank you for such a beautiful day, we highly recommend this tour!

We couldn’t have asked for a better guide than João! From the moment he picked us up in Lisbon for our small-group trip to Sintra, he made the whole experience feel easy, personal and genuinely fun. He didn’t just show us the sights, he brought Portugal to life with stories, history, local insights and the kind of random trivia you actually remember afterwards. He was incredibly knowledgeable without ever making it feel like a history lesson, always happy to answer questions and clearly passionate about his country. The small-group experience made the day even more special, and João’s warmth, humour and enthusiasm were the cherry on top. We left Sintra knowing much more about Portugal than when we arrived and with a lot of great stories to take home with us. Frat our guide and driver was so friendly and very knowledgeable, as well as driving very diligently (a nice smooth tour). Great balance of free time and tours of the sights. Pickup was on time and booster provided for 6 year old. Frat adapted to traffic conditions by adapting the drop off point in Sintra to avoid eating into our free time. Very much recommend Unique Journeys and this specific tour.

We had an excellent and comfortable time on this tour. We really appreciated the small group size, it felt like a much more personal experience with our tour guide. John was very knowledgeable and we loved learning from his local perspective. Even though we were a quieter group, John was very skilled at keeping the energy high, making engaging conversation, and gave us lots of opportunities to ask questions. He took great care to make sure we were comfortable in the heat, well-rested, and hydrated, especially before starting longer walks in the sun. The tour overall was the perfect length and we didn’t feel like we spent too much time in the car driving. John gave us a ton of recommendations for food and activities, both in Lisbon and in Porto. After the tour concluded, we immediately went to his recommended spot for pastel de nata and were impressed. Thanks again for a wonderful time!

The tour was a great mix: the delightful seaside resort of Cassis; the dramatic ( and very windy!) cliffs of Cabo da Roca; the lovely mountain town of Sintra and finally, the incredible mountain top Pena Palace with its eclectic mix of buildings.. Our guide (Ricardo) was excellent being both interesting and informative. I learnt a lot about out destinations as well as life in Portugal in general. Be aware : the climb up to the Pena palace is long and steep!

We had the best day with Miguel! He picked us up at our Airbnb right on time and we got on the road. He is so personable and a wealth of knowledge! We all loved Caicais! And Cabo Da Roca had beautiful views of the water. Weather was spectacular! We had been disappointed that the. National Tile Museum was closed during our visit, but Miguel taught us so much about tile! And his knowledge of the Pena Palace is second to none. He knows all of the ends and outs. It is a bit of a hike to get up to it and I forgot to bring water with me, but he took us to directly to the cafeteria for bottles of cold water and a few minutes of rest. He provided excellent recommendations for lunch and we spent close to 10 hours together, but it went by quickly and was like spending time with an old friend. Cannot recommend Miguel enough!

My husband and I had a wonderful time on the tour. Miguel was very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of his country. We learnt a lot from him. He was also very attentive and made sure that we had a very enjoyable experience. We would certainly recommend him for anybody considering this tour.

He had a delightful sense of humor and was very considerate of those who had issues with motion sickness or needed additional time climbing to Pena. John was fantastic. Our tour coincided with a marathon and futbol match that caused road closures, but we made every scheduled stop (even after initially being turned around at Cabo da Roca because the road was closed). John was very knowledgeable and accommodating.

My wife and I had a great guided tour. Our guide, Miguel Câmara Leme, was very pleasant and well versed on Portuguese history and the Sintra history and area. His English was fluent and his presentation clear and excellent. Miguel kept us and 3 other couple engaged throughout the day and our destinations as we traveled. His driving was excellent and very safe. Miguel was very considerate and conscientious of everyone on the tour, learning all our names immediately and engaging and involving us throught the experience. The tour had us dropped conveniently at 2 different locations to explore with a pick up times for both that gave us enough time to get familiar with what each had to offer. The second stop was the furthest western part of Portugal and Europe. A fantastic view in an ecologically sensitive area. We finished at the palace where Miguel made sure to point out every detail of importance to the building and history of the site. An excellent day with an excellent guide. Miguel encouraged questions and answered them with solid historic depth. Highly recommend this tour. If you are lucky you will get Miguel!

We were so lucky to have chosen this tour. Our tour guide was Mario Ribeiro. He was professional knowledgeable, and so accommodating to our group of eight. I would highly recommend this tour. Just amazing!!! it was the most informative tour that we have ever been on. A complete pleasure.

Our tour guide, Ricardo, was excellent, very knowledgeable and friendly. A great storyteller, he regaled us with anecdotes about Portuguese history and culture throughout the journey. Cascais was disappointing, just a little seaside town for the rich. However, the rest of the trip was very interesting, culminating in a visit of the very impressive Pena Palace, again benefiting from Ricardo’s insightful commentary. Great way to spend a day.

Joao was very knowledgeable, even able to answer the MANY questions our group had! He did not rush us, gave us ample time in Cascais and Cabo to enjoy the town. We were on our own for lunch in Sintra so we were able to eat and still take in the little town area. This was a rather last minute decision and we are so glad we did it. It really helps when there is someone that can give you the history, back stories and make it as enjoyable as Joao did, thank you!

Ricardo was an excellent tour guide that gave a personalized touch to all the information he had to offer. One off stories just flowed out of him during the car rides in between spots he would drop us off at. He even supplied our whole group with umbrellas!!
