We really enjoyed this full day tour to Cape Rock, Sintra, Pena, Regaleira and Cascais. This tour was run in small groups of 8 per minibus. Our guide Philipe who was excellent, very engaging, informative, personable and helped to gel the group together. There is just one thing we would change or recommend to the tour company and that is for less time in Cascais and more free time at Sintra, Pena and the Regaleira. We would highly recommend the tour and guide (he was excellent!)

Itinerary
Take a walk through the mysterious Pena Park (ticket and guided visit included), with an astonishing variety of plants and trees. The park was planted with the help of a German Engineer, a specialist in botany. Feel like royalty as you enter the romantic Pena National Palace (ticket included, no guided visit inside the Palace) at the top of the Sintra Mountain with amazing views of the Moorish castle.
In Sintra old town, there is free time for lunch, before meeting the guide again for the second part of the tour.
After lunch, we arrive at Quinta da Regaleira (ticket included), one of the highlights of Sintra. Visiting Regaleira is like travel on an imaginary universe full of symbols and metaphors. There is always a sign of something intense and transcendent. The guide enters in the park with you, gives you informations and directions, and then you have free time to explore this luxurious park, heading to the Initiation Well, discovering hidden secrets and entering mysterious tunnels.
Not actually a well! It was used for rituals inspired by the Knights Templar.
After leaving Sintra, we take the mountain road heading to the Western most point of continental Europe for a picture stop. These 100+ meter high cliffs are amazing
Before returning to Lisbon, we do a small stop in the bay of Cascais, where beach, local food, old town and fisheries combine. Great stop for pictures and maybe time for an icecream.

Great full day! Saw all the sites wanted to experience plus a delicious late lunch at a recommended seafood restaurant right on the shoreline. Guide, Antonio, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Beautiful sunset to end the fun!
Felipe B was an excellent tour guide and very knowledgeable. He gave us lots of background historical information about each spot prior each visit, which made the journey or walking more enjoyable. We did the 8h tour. We started with Pena palace and avoided long queues and crowd, which was great. Note that tour guides are not allowed to tour guide in the palace itself anymore, which is a shame. Felipe gave us 15-20 min free time before driving us to Sintra. Some good recommendation along the way for snacks and places to eat. Wish we had a bit more time to explore Sintra though before heading to Regalaria to see the park, the wells and the palace. Amazing place. We had a late lunch in Caiscais by the seaside, which was relaxing. Felipe gave us various options during the visit. Cabo de Roca was our last stop and glad we ended going as it was well worth the view - can be very windy ! - A very good day overall and would definitely recommend the tour.
Excellent sightseeing experience. The length of each visit spot is fit. Admission tickets are included. No need to line up to get admission. Much more time for sightseeing and taking photos. A small group of 8 people is perfect fit. Meeting spot is in convenient location with Metro subway station close by, and also on main street luxurious brand names shops, restaurants. The driver and tour guide Antonion Castro is an exceptional who is knowledgeable and information for sightseeing spots. During his driving, he keeps chatting with us and had fun conversation. Not boring in car during long hours drive. This Pena Palace tour is highly recommend.
This tour was well worth the money. Sergio was a great guide, making history relatable and also discussing life and climate in Portugal today. The tour was well organized. I thought it was worth it to pay for the small group (max 6) excursion.
Sintra tour is the highlight of my 2 weeks in Portugal. Beautiful palace, beautiful coastline town Casic. Most of all, our guide Antonio is very professional, knowledgeable and kind. I have no hesitation to recommend this tour and Antonio as a guide to anyone interested in Sintra. It is well worth the time and the money.
What a great experience and amazing day. Phillipe B. was an exceptional guide with lots of great information. We will definitely do it again!
The entire experience was great - lots of free time. Did not feel rush by tour agent. He was very knowledgeable.
Paulo, our guide made this tour special. He was very helpful, kind, and accommodating. These sites are very crowded, so going w a tour guide is the only way to avoid the giant lines. We were so pleased w chose this tour.
Such a brilliant day exploring Sintra and the coast! Highlights were Pena Palace, the wild scenery at Cabo da Roca, Cascais and especially Regaleira, its gardens, waterfall and spiral Initiation Well, with its symbolism of rebirth. Delicious Portuguese wine and food, including Serra da Estrela cheese (PDO, so good I brought some home! Fado was our soundtrack in the car, and travelling solo was a lovely way to meet people in the group. Everything was well organised, with time to enjoy Lisbon afterwards. Thanks to Fábio for the stories and local tips!
Tito was a fantastic guide full of historical information about every place we visited. He also gave us fantastic suggestions for lunch. We definitely recommend him as a tour guide and the tour overall. A great way to spend the day in Portugal!
Fabio was amazing! We had the pleasure of having him as our guide for our Sintra tour, and he was nothing short of spectacular. His knowledge, enthusiasm, personality, and attention to detail made the entire afternoon. Fabio was hands down the best guide we’ve ever had. He went above and beyond to make our day truly special. If you’re visiting Sintra, do yourself a favor and book a tour with Fabio. You won’t find anyone better! An absolute 10 out of 10!
Absolutely fantastic tour and Miguel was very knowledgeable and fun. He frequently checked on all of us to ensure we were doing well and having fun. The pickup spot wasn't the most convenient to my hotel, but the spot is truly likely convenient for most people. I'm in good shape and enjoyed walking up and down the steep hills. 10/10 would recommend!
We had a great tour guide named Filipe who made our tour very fun and made sure the whole group was well taken care of. You get to do a lot in one day without worrying about the logistics or transportation.
Antonio was simply the best guide ever. His love for history and people shines through!
What an amazing day out of Lisbon! From the beautiful palaces and gardens of Sintra to the waterfront in Cascais and the incredible views at Cabo da Roca, there was so much to take in. Our guide, Ricardo Tito, made the experience even more special. He was incredibly knowledgeable and brought the places we visited to life through their history and stories. I loved learning more about Portugal while enjoying such beautiful scenery. As a solo traveller, this was a wonderful way to explore beyond Lisbon. I finished the day falling even more in love with Portugal! Highly recommend Ricardo and Inside Lisbon Tours. Thank you, Ricardo, for such a memorable day!
Our guide was friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable. The tour was wonderful and we saw so much n such a compact structure. Highly recommended.
Paolo was a Great guide and answered all our questions
It was a fun day, Antonio was lovely. The areas we visited were beautiful. Some of the timing could’ve been better, but overall it was a good experience. I do wish the company was more transparent at sign up with the fact that your tour will be split between two different languages, as this takes away from some of the info the guide has time for. It also affects the flow of the trip in my opinion. Antonio was very impressive to watch switch between languages.
We had Antonio Castro as our guide and he was incredible. Antonio was patient , informative and super knowledgeable. It was a full day with plenty to see and generous free wine. Highly recommend!
Wonderful guide! Thank you for the singing
I’m so glad I booked this instead of doing it on our own. The History that António knew and the way he immersed us in the experience was beyond measure. Also, to be able to skip the line was worth it too! Long lines! The region is BEAUTIFUL!!! Thank you António for a wonderful journey❤️❤️❤️
Alberto was an amazing guide with so much information to share. He even showed us secret places on the grounds of both palaces. I would definitely recommend him.
We truly enjoyed this excursion and were very fortunate to have Miguel as our guide. We felt this was a good value for the cost of the trip and saw so e spectacular views. This was a small group tour which we appreciated. Miguel was very kind and willing to drop us off at our hotel at the end of the tour
This “8-hour” tour - beautiful and interesting, sure - turned out to be 11 hours long. It WAS well managed (though the morning boarding process in front of Hard Rock was hushed chaos), And our tour guide, Ruben, was absolutely terrific. He set a cordial and welcoming tone, educated us and vigilantly watched over our wanderings like we were his own ducklings. Still, this tour is so laughably overstuffed that our question was: WHY? Why did this (and other) tour operator(s) feel the need to bundle so wide and disparate group of FIVE attractions into one long, tiring day? We suspect it’s because the tourism industry knows that people may only leave Lisbon for ONE day trip - and this itinerary ensures every attraction gets a piece of the pie. The problem is that we are not pie, of. course - we’re intelligent, non-“checklist” tourists. So ultimately, the schedule was unsatisfying and annoying enough to outweigh the best bits of the day. Again, I want to emphasize tour guide Ruben, was gracious and wonderful, but one has to wonder at all of the tasks he was expected to manage: driving while chatting away about FIVE different sites, negotiating traffic, parking, handling tickets, group queues, etc. The agenda trade-offs made for the guests were annoying. For example, turns out the Regaleira wasn’t so much historically significant as it was the Baroque fever dream of a super rich guy and his flamboyant, opium smoking buddies. While it rendered photo ops young people might love (think a 19th century Harry Potter World) we’d have preferred real time in the legitimately charming town of Sintra (in which we were given 15 mins), or better yet, a deeper background at the Pena Palace (the REAL, historically significant seat of the monarchy). September is MOBBED. Cross something off the list, please! Likewise, we had a rushed lunch in Cascais, and had to flee without seeing either the beach or the town’s other charms because we were pressed to race out to the westernmost-whatever-point, which was windy and mildly interesting as the sun went down, but why maneuver all the way there just to jump off a bus, snap a pic and race out of there? We enjoyed much of what we saw and there was a kind camaraderie among the group members. That said, I would have enjoyed getting back to my lovely Lisbon hotel bathtub way sooner.
Great way to see Sintra. The small group was nice and the guide did a great job of getting us around the crowds.
We made this trip with my wife on 16th October. Very good programme, everything arranged and managed very well. And the best was Alberto our guide, great professional, communicator, and exceptional.person. travel agency could very pride of him. We highly recommend this trip. Rastislav and Elena
A most helpful and knowledgeable local guide. This is the only way to do this tour. You miss all the queues and the tour operators can go where normal motorist can't. I highly recommend this tour.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Amazing Day in Sintra – Alberto Was Incredible! What an absolutely fantastic experience! Our tour of Sintra, Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira was one of the highlights of our time in Portugal. A huge part of what made the day so special was our incredible guide, Alberto! He was knowledgeable, friendly, funny and genuinely passionate about sharing the history and beauty of the places we visited. Alberto went above and beyond to ensure everyone had a wonderful day. He was organised, approachable and made us feel welcome and well looked after from start to finish. The sights were absolutely breathtaking, but it was Alberto who really made this tour unforgettable. We cannot recommend this tour highly enough, and if you’re lucky enough to have Alberto as your guide, you’re in for a treat! Thank you, Alberto, for such a memorable day! 🇵🇹
We enjoyed our trip to Sintra, Cabo da Roca, and Caiscais. We loved exploring the Regaleira park and the Sintra Pena Palace. Our guide Juan was great filling us in on the history of Portugal and the places we were visiting. We would definitely recommend this tour.
I had an amazing experience on the “Sintra, Pena and Regaleira Tour from Lisbon with Tickets Included,” and Andre made the day truly special! The bus fit 8 passengers, which was a manageable size, and everyone was friendly. Andre was friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about sharing the history, culture, and beauty of Portugal. He speaks (at least) Portuguese (Portugal and Brazil dialects) and English. Our first stop was Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe for about 15 minutes, which was plenty of time for me. From the stunning colors of Pena Palace to the walking through the grounds of Quinta da Regaleira, every stop was memorable. We also visited Cascais for 1.5 hours with beautiful ocean and harbor views and a variety of places to eat (‘lunch’ was thus at 3pm). I recommend bringing snacks for the tour since lunch is later in the day. Andre made the experience enjoyable, kept our group engaged, and helped everything run smoothly throughout the day. I highly recommend this tour, and especially Andre, to anyone visiting Lisbon who wants to explore Sintra and its incredible sights.
Our guide Fabio Felix was amazing. He navigated very busy roads and sites very well. He was knowledgeable and interesting on the palaces and other places we visited. He was 10/10! Small group of 8. Lots of walking mostly uphill so be prepared for that.
Hugo was the best ever, the best! So knowledgeable, accommodating and patient. The only thing that I missed was seeing a picture of his cat, other than that, 5 stars, two thumbs up, we will cherish the memories forever. Thank you Hugo!
The tour was great. We saw a lot of Pena Palace and learned from our guide the details of it's existence. We also saw the Regaleria palace and learned many details for it too. The ride was fine, we enjoyed the beautiful scenery of Sintra, we tried different pastries from Sintra and our guide Jo oa was excellent. I would recommend this tour for anyone who likes a full day and is fine with walking a lot!
This is a must do! Such an enjoyable way to visit and learn about Portugal. The palaces and towns were jaw dropping beautiful. The simplicity of the tour, how well organized and knowledgeable our guide made unforgettable memories for our family. Worth every penny.
Everything was perfect. Benny spoke English well. He was very informative very professional and knowledgeable. It was a wonderful trip and he was a wonderful guide and Driver.
We had an excellent Tour with Benny! He was very knowledgeable about the history of Portugal and Pena and gave us excellent recommendations for lunch in cascais. Really had a memorable time!
Fantastic day from start to finish. Communication from inside tours excellent. Meeting location easy to find. Prompt start to the day. Tito was an extremely knowledgeable guide. Both palaces and grounds were incredible.
Orlando was an excellent guide and was able to pivot and change things up a little to accommodate the weather ( fog and drizzle). Everything was beautiful and perfect
Antonio was an incredible guide. Just outstanding. He was so patient and caring with my two 80 year old relatives. He went above and beyond and gave them a memorable experience. All of the sights were in incredible (there was a lot of walking) and the history education was so enjoyable.
Sintra and Pena Palace were the highlight of our trip to Lisbon. The trip was made special by our guide, Sergio, who conveyed just the right amount of factual information with a good sense of humour. He always went out of his way to provide special experiences - he really made the tour.
Our small group tour of Sintra, Pena Palace, Regaleira and everything in between was fantastic! Our guide Bernardo, was very friendly and knowledgeable. It was certainly one of the highlights of our trip. Having our tickets included made the experience much easier and more enjoyable. It makes for along day, but it is certainly worth it if you have the time to explore outside of Lisbon.
Our guide Alberto was incredible!! He made the tour to sintra amazing and gave amazing recommendations with food and things to do around Lisbon! He made us feel as if we were family or close friend who was passionate and kind to show you around. We hope to see Alberto in future adventures!
Fabio was an excellent tour guide knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging. The tour moved at a great pace, with enough time to enjoy each stop without feeling rushed. I highly recommend this tour.
We had a wonderful trip to Sintra with Fabio as our tour guide! He was knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and passionate about sharing the history and beauty of the area. Fabio made the entire experience enjoyable and memorable, and we truly appreciated his insights and hospitality. We highly recommend Fabio to anyone visiting Sintra!
João was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable, friendly and always checking to ensure we are doing well and enjoying our experience. The meeting place was a chaotic experience, like a cattle call where you had no idea where to stand or who to approach. Also, while the directions were explicit regarding our prompt arrival time, we waited beyond that time for many of the guides to arrive, and until all the guides arrive, they cannot sort us into vans, so we all were impacted by the carelessness of many of the other guides.
Alberto was an outstanding tour guide. Not only was he incredibly knowledgeable about all the places we visited, but he also provided excellent recommendations for food, restaurants, and local attractions. His friendly attitude and constant smile made the experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Alberto to anyone looking for a memorable and well-guided tour. Thank you, Alberto!"
Highly recommend this trip to Sintra! Alberto X. was a great guide—professional, kind, and with a nice sense of humor. The tour was well-planned and easy-going. For me, the highlight was definitely the Quinta da Regaleira. It has such a mysterious vibe and is absolutely worth visiting. Had a great time today!
Fabio was a great guide, very knowledgeable and extremely helpful to our tour group. He went over and above to make sure that everyone had a great day. I would highly recommend him and this tour.
Excellent tour. Our guide Sergio was amazing. He was very knowledgeable about the history of Portugal, the Sintra area, he gave us a great recommendation for lunch.
