We had an absolutely amazing experience with our tour, guided by Nuno! He was incredibly friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable about every area we visited. He shared so many interesting and important details that really brought the history and culture of Sintra, Cascais, and Estoril to life. He also went above and beyond with fantastic recommendations for restaurants, cafés, and places to visit. You could tell he genuinely wanted us to have the best possible experience, and he made our day truly memorable. We would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone visiting the area. He helped make our Sintra, Cascais & Estoril tour an amazing experience, and we would book with him again in a heartbeat!

Nuno was a great tour guide. Very passionate and knowledgeable about Portugal's history. Having a nice air conditioned car in the summer to get to places was a plus too, especially after a day of walking and wandering on my own. We did not have the same amount of time in each location and some stops felt rushed, but it was a wonderful introduction, especially for a solo traveler. Traffic getting to the castle can cause delays, so you m8ght not have as much time to walk about. Sintra is lovely, but very congested with tourists, such as myself. Off season is the best time to truly appreciate the charm.
Our tour guide was Ricardo. The first thing we noticed was Ricardo's warm and enthusiastic welcome and his sense of humour. As the tour unfolded, not only did he maintain his warmth and sense of humour, his knowledge of the tour and especially Pena Palace became apparent. Not only was he a wealth of knowledge, especially of the long history of Portugal, he left no stone unturned ensuring that knowledge was passed on. A fantastic day out. We would recommend it to anyone even if only in Lisbon for a few days.
This was an awesome tour! I would highly recommend it. Our tour guide, Nuno, was extremely knowledgeable and engaging when it came to Portugals history. A sightseeing tour of Sintra and Pena Palace is a must when in Lisbon and you will not be disappointed with this tour.
Ricardo was our guide, he was amazing, very informative, engaging and funny. He was the best tour guide I have ever had in all of the years I’ve had any type of tour. I would definitely recommend him for any tour and would use him again for any tours we go on.
Amazing day with our very knowledgeable tour guide Ricardo. We had a fun filled day with lots of information.
A wonderful tour with an excellent Tpur Guide (Ricardo). Ricardo was very knowledgeable and entertaining.
The trip to Sintra was amazing. We had an excellent tour guide, Ricardo, who showed us many beautiful spots and places around Sintra. My sister and I truly enjoyed the trip
Ricardo was amazing. He was engaging, knowledgeable and kept a good pace. Great experience and strongly recommend. FYI - a lot of walking on uneven terrain and uphill going to the castle.
Our tour guide was very knowledgable, made for a great day and an awesome experience.
Lorenzo was a great host. Pick up on time, friendly, very knowledge, and took the time to explain all the locations and history behind what we were seeing. It was a great experience and one that we would highly recommend!
Our Guide Nonoo knowledge of Portugal's history greatly added to our Sintra Palace tour. The van tour was a living history classroom. I like to balance my trips with some on my own days & some guided tour days. The Sintra Palace was perfect for a Tour day with a guide who knew where to park, how to get through the line, how to see the most of the Palace and the surrounding region.
Laurenco provided us with a tour tailored to interests. He has a great knowledge of the history of Portugal and provided us with the background we needed to truly enjoy and understand its the beauty and richness. We had a tour of Lisbon before heading to Sintra and the Palace. Then it was onto the beautiful coast, and the towns of Cascais and Estoril. Lots of opportunities for walking and exploring. Thanks Laurenco for your suggestions on food to try. The squid with rice and prawns was amazing, as was the cod with eggs and potatoes! Best tour ever!
Pena palace is amazing. Our guide, Inez, was great. Lots of good info and very pleasant conversations. Loved our day.
Sintra is definitely the city to experience in Portugal! Loved everything about it - especially the National Palace of Pena. Valerio, my guide, was knowledgeable about the history and explained everything so thoroughly and had many facts to share. He made the tour immensely enjoyable!
We had a fantastic day with our private tour guide, Nuno! He was very passionate and knowledgeable about Portugal's culture and history. We saw some amazing places and learned a lot. The whole family was very pleased with this adventure! I would definitely recommend this tour while in Lisban!
The tour guide Nunu was brilliant from start to finish, such a passionate person about his country ( Portugal ) and its history, took the scenic route through Cascais to Estoril and Sintra , extremely knowledgeable and especially interested in our thoughts of the towns, and site seeing venues. Also providing an insight to the origins of Portugal, Great tour and highly recommended
Our experience with this tour was unbelievable! Our guide was extremely accommodating, patient, and was essentially a walking encyclopedia when it came to European history. He answered every single question we had and gave us a deeper understanding of Portuguese history and culture. Highly, highly recommend this tour and would do it again 10/10 times. THANK YOU!
Tour was all day but passes quickly. Our guide Lourenco was excellent and very knowledgeable. We saw much of the countryside. We were given time for lunch and bathroom breaks.
It was a great experience. If you are coming to Portugal, and are planning to make the trip to see Sintra, and would like a more relaxed and detailed explanation of the history and sites, then this is the one to book. Our guide picked us up at our Hotel, just the 2 of us and made our day very informative and enjoyable.
Most enjoyable day! We loved the comfortable minivan & Lues our knowledgeable guide (who spoke excellent english) and didn't rush everyone at all.Lues shared such interesting information along the way as he navigated the tricky roads up to the Pena Palace :-) Highly recommend and wished we had time to stay and do another day tour with him.
Our tour guide (and driver). Felipa was amazing, she was lighthearted, extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. We spent a lively morning in Caicais (on our own), with Felipa giving us tidbits of information on the way and before we strolled around Caicais. We went to Cabo da Rocha- the most western point in Europe (unfortunately the rain obscured the views). In Sintra, we had time on our own to explore this quaint, quintessential Portuguese town, where we ate lunch (not included) and had yummy and recommended pastries at Piriquita (also not included) before going to Sintra's National Palace of Pena. Felipa made the tour of the palace interesting and fun. She pointed out specific architectural details and delivered historical facts with wit and excitement. (So often historical tours can be dry out boring-- or was the opposite with Felipa.) Hopefully, if you take this tour, Felipa will be your guide!
Lourenco was an excellent guide who was well informed about Portugal history and the region . His English was excellent The pace of the tour was great. The scenery was varied and beautiful. We especially enjoyed Pena Castle.
Nuno of Selection Tours was amazing. A real history buff and is very patient with sharing his knowledge. The trip had some private time but much fun imparting knowledge. We highly recommend him
Amazing day, you can see so much more on a private tour. Our guide was so knowledgeable and made Portuguese history and culture so interesting. He also drove on those curvy roads from CasCais to Sintra with incredible skill. So very kind, and he even returned an item I left in the Mercedes van back to my hotel.
We loved this tour. We learned so much and had an absolutely wonderful time. We saw beautiful sites, learned about the area and its history and stopped for an amazing lunch with a Port tasting. Highly recommended.
A wonderful day all around. Our tour guide, Nunu, was AMAZING! Very passionate and knowledgeable about his country and everywhere we visited. He picked us up in the morning at our hotel and we enjoyed a full day learning about and exploring the beautiful sites and countryside. Would highly recommend!
Luis was an amazing guide. Taking us around Sintra and Lisbon. We loved learning about the city and all its history. 10/10 would go on a tour with Luis again!
Our tour guide Luis Andre was outstanding and gave us one of the best tours we have ever had. Fluent in English and extremely knowledgeable and kind.
Our tour guide João was amazing! He truly made the experience for myself, my husband, and our toddler an unforgettable one. He was accommodating, entertaining, and a wealth of knowledge. We were in Portugal for two weeks and this tour was a highlight. Pena palace Is a must visit, and the other stops on the tour were well worth it.
Tour guide’s knowledge was incredible. He was professional, friendly, and ultimately one of the best tour guides I have ever had.
Our group tour ended up being a private tour as it was just my husband and I. Hugo, our tour guide, was friendly, knowledgeable and easy going! He also recommended an amazing place for dinner.
Louis was the perfect guide and companion for our day trip to Sintra. He was punctual, communicative, and a wealth of knowledge. His passion for the region shone through in his detailed explanations and surprising facts. Louis expertly navigated the tour, ensuring we had the perfect balance of guided experiences and time to wander independently. We especially loved exploring Pena Palace with him – his insights brought the history and architecture to life. The scenic coastal drive back to Lisbon was an added treat, filled with Louis's engaging commentary. His insider tips were invaluable for the rest of our trip. We'd recommend him without hesitation to anyone seeking a knowledgeable and conscientious guide.
All palaces have room after room filled with historical things. What made this tour very different was the historical knowledge of the tour guide, Hugo Pires. As we walked through the Pena Palace he would highlight architecture and objects and tell historical highlights. It was amazing! The rest of the trip was fun too.
Did not meet our expectations at all. Guide basically provided transportation only. Also price on Viator for product was sign I more than booking direct.
Tour guide Joao was amazing and site’s beautiful. He was so incredibly knowledgeable and very kind. Highly recommend
Our guide was excellent in all areas. The history of Portugal and the castles was fascinating. Great day!!!
I took the private tour with my mom for flexibility and to help make the best of our time. Loucia, our guide, took us on a great adventure and easily accommodated special requests. You will enjoy a great day of sightseeing. One Note: I recommend going outside Sintra as you will get stuck in a long tourist line (It is like Ikea with many furnishers but no exits). Check with Loucia on the best site to walk around.
Our time with Valerio was so great we ended up booking an additional tour two days later. His level of professionalism and knowledge was amazing and he really went above and beyond to make sure we felt safe, comfortable, and most importantly, that we were enjoying ourselves. Would definitely recommend this experience- truly such a memorable day/experience!
This trip was incredible. Our tour guide, Val, was awesome. He was so informative, really knew his history. He was extremely helpful. Took care of getting our tickets and getting us in the correct lines as efficiently as possible. He gave us a great tour of the Peña Palace. We all loved both Sintra and Cascais. Such lovely towns. Highly recommend.
We had an excellent tour! Joao was amazing, knowledgeable, and patient. He knew the best places and times to avoid the crowd during world youth day. He was friendly and gave us a great tour of an amazing city and left us wanting more. Many people were following us just to listen to Joao and we made more friends as a result. Highly recommend!!
Loved our day with Liliana. Nice, private vehicle and a guide that was so kind and welcoming to Portugal! She explained so much about everything we were seeing. She went above and beyond. Honestly, the best private tour I have taken yet. Highly recommend. The castle was beautiful. So many original pieces and decor. It has been maintained beautifully.
What a great day we had with Valeriot! The perfect combination of beautiful sights, history, and time to explore on our own. He took us through Pena Palace and gave us so much information, it was terrific. His expertise was invaluable in getting us to the palace, would not have wanted to try it on our own. He took time to show us one beautiful sight after another on our drive. In Cascais he was kind enough to recommend a wonderful restaurant for lunch. We loved this tour, had a great day and highly recommend!!
Easy paced tour with Hugo and three other people not including me and my teenaged daughter. We stopped in the small town of Sintra and had a short time to check out the shops and sample the pastries and then on to the Palace. A bit of climbing involved but we all managed. The Palace was beautiful and well worth the trip. We stopped for lunch at a local spot Hugo recommended and then on to Cascais where we had time to browse the shops, sit by the beach or have a gelato. Was a nice day and highly recommend.
Great way to spend a day. Knowledgeable guide and fantastic views. It was a wonderful family experience.
We were so happy with our experience to Sintra with Alberto that we booked another tour of Lisbon the next day. He was very personable. His knowledge was beyond expectations. Also his driver Lucy made us feel very safe on some crazy road conditions. Great day.
What an excellent, well-organized led by our terrific professional guide, Lourenço. He was very personable, super knowledgeable and entertaining. Lourenço even assisted us exiting the hotel garage and the city! Hats off to the whole team!
Val started as a tour guide and left as a friend. He helped us understand the meaning behind everything we saw. He really knew the history of Portugal and why things were the way they were. It made our first day to Purtugal well worth it. We learned a lot, saw a lot and laughed a lot. Request Valerio and you won't be disappointed. We now have a deeper love for Portugal and its people.
This tour could not have been better! From the moment our guide, Joao (sp?), picked us up we knew we were in good hands. He was so knowledgeable and taught us so much about the history of Portugal, Sintra, Pena Palace and more. All the details of the tour ran great. We did buy tickets to the palace ahead of time for 10 am and I would recommend doing so to avoid lines. We also loved visiting Cabo da Roca, the town of Sintra and lunch in Caiscais. Highly recommend this tour!
Wonderful! Our tour guide Pedro was so accommodating and knowledgeable. This is the best thing we did while in Portugal! We did a private tour and Pedro was patient and catered the tour to us and our 13 and 15 year old sons.
