Private Tour: Sintra Half Day Trip From Lisbon

Victor was absolutely the best tour guide we have ever had. He told us a lot of historical facts and was a fantastic storyteller. He took us to beautiful sites and we enjoyed our time so much. I would recommend him in a heartbeat.

We booked last minute (9:30 pm) for a next day tour. The company was super responsive and accommodating. Joe was our tour guide and was very helpful and knowledgeable. He was right on time and gave us a great experience in Sintra and Casceis.

I couldn't find a tour company that went where I wanted to go so I booked a private tour (I was traveling alone) and they let me customize it to go to Sintra, Cascais and Regaleira. If you travel to this area, do it with Joe! He is knowledgeable and so much fun to spend the day with! We went to a great restaurant by Apple Beach for lunch. Joe picked me up from my hotel which was really nice. I learned a lot and made a new friend! This day trip was a highlight of my whole time in Portugal.

We were a group of six that traveled to Portugal from the U.S. Our Portugal Magik guide, Rui, picked us up at the Lisbon airport and stayed with us for the whole week we were there. His knowledge of his country, his amiability and his easy-going personality made our trip. It was a fabulous experience for all of us. Rui took us where we had planned on going, but also to places we had never heard of and never would have found on our own. Before the trip, Gonzolo made the planning a cinch. He responded to every question we had immediately and made sure that he got us every hotel, restaurant, and sightseeing experience that we wanted. He could not have been easier to work with. I had done a lot of research with other tour companies and was so happy we chose Portugal Magik. The pricing and cancellation policy were very fair as well, which was not the case with other tour companies I checked out. It’s not often the case that after a trip you remember your guide’s name and the name of the owner of the tour company. The names Rui and Gonzalo will stay with us for a long time because of the wonderful time we had in Portugal.

We purchased the private tour from Lisbon to Sintra. What a lovely trip! The driver was kind, professional and made our tour perfect! He shared his extensive knowledge of his country and made us feel like family before the day was over! We look forward to visiting Portugal again and would definitely book another tour!

We were picked up from our ship, post cruise, by Pablo and a trainee. We first saw highlights of Lisbon along the coast, then went to Sintra for a great tour. Pablo worked wonders keeping us ahead of tour groups, and topped it with a port tasting in the town of Sintra. We then went to a small village along the coast for a fabulous fish lunch, prepared by the owner of the restaurant, a lifelong friend of Pablo. On our way back we stopped for him to give us insight into the cork tree, then took us and our luggage to our hotel. We started at 9a and finished at 5:50 (17:30). All in all the best tour we've ever been on. This was April 2018.

Best-ever customized family private tour. I had a very ambitious list of things we wanted to see and do, and they made it all happen seamlessly! I can’t wait to travel back to Portugal and will absolutely book with them again. They arranged everything to maximize our day and avoid long lines, etc. A+

We first did a walking tour of Lisbon and it was so great we booked Sintra for another day and a third day in the wine country. Roy our guide is extremely knowledgeable and our experience would not have been a fraction as good without him. He knew where to go, including the best restaurants and how not to queue for hours 😬

Seldom we use tour guides, but this compay is an exception. Great driver, good english, fun, knows history, but not boring. Will use them be t trip and recommend to all our friends

Sintra along with Collares wine tasting and Cabo da Roca visit from Cascais was truly magic..especially with our fantastic guide,Diego...he tailored the day to suit our needs and felt more like a “friend” than a guide..he also led us on a half day tour of Lisbon...perfect intro to the city...ask for Diego...he’s the best!!!

We visited Portugal at mid of May 2019. While we were impressed by Lisbon, Porto, Fatima, Sintra had won our hearts! The best decision was to accept a guided private tour offered by Nuno when all 6 of us got out of the train from Lisbon in the morning. We were saved from all the hustle and bustle of walking on the streets finding the best objectives and we got lot of time to visit The Chalet of the Countess of Edla, Monserrate/ Palace of Pena, Moorish Castle, Palace National of Sintra, Quinta da Regaleira, ending our daily trip through Estoril and Cascais! Nuno was amazing, funny and one of the best guides of our life. He is speaking a few languages (even translated in Romanian for few of us who don’t speak English). Fully knowledged and very professional, he gave us great explanation about the sites, stops at the best spots for group pictures, offered details and advised for the good places to eat or to stay. We were able to recharge our phones on the spacious van, had fresh water and most needed air conditioner. We greatly recommended this excellent option for your visit and we won’t hesitate to find Nuno on our future visit!

Our guide was Jose. We were promptly picked up at our hotel in Lisbon in a very comfortable Mercedes van. Jose did an excellent job of pointing out points of interest and giving us background inforomation on history as well as current culture/politics etc. The trip to Sintra was wonderful. The castle was beautiful, the day was beautiful, the information provided by Jose was very informative. Jose even made sure that he took group pictures of us. We had lunch at A casa do Luis in Cabo da Roca - it was a great experience. The food was superb and the feeling was one of truly experiencing the local culture and cuisine. A fabulous day overall. I recommend this group very highly. Thanks Jose for a great day!

We had the best day on our tour getting picked up right from our hotel with a excellent tour guide José!! The sights were amazing and José was very knowledgeable about all the history . The 2 wineries were fabulous and we had a great lunch right by the beach . We enjoyed all the stops along the way and our tour guide was the best!!! We would highly recommend the tour

We felt like true VIPs on our tour with Sintra Magik Private Tours which began from our hotel in downtown Lisbon where Joe greeted us punctually. The Mercedes was brand new, clean, and water was offered for the trip. Joe was absolutely awesome! As we traveled toward Sintra, Joe provided an excellent summary of sights along the way, providing a concise history of landmarks and buildings we passed. The trip to Sintra is short and comfortable, traffic was minimal because this was/is in mid-January. Joe facilitated us through the tour of the famous Pena National Palace (gorgeous) and we spent time in the quaint town of Sintra. We had a wonderful lunch near the beach and completed the afternoon tour visiting the awe-inspiring costal cliffs of Cabo do Roca and the next place I want live, Cascais. Take this private tour with the hidden gems outside of Lisbon. You will not want to see the Lisbon or surrounding areas any other way.

This was our splurge of the trip and it was WELL worth the money spent. Joao picked us up early in the morning to make sure we made it past the lines for the castle. All day my friend and I staged photos and silly videos (guilty milennial here) and Joao patiently and happily took as many photos as we wished for. He is knowledgeable of the rich history of each place we went to and relayed stories of old as we curiously hopped from one spot to another. He went above and beyond to show us some extra spots on the tour. He is personable and fun. My only suggestion for the company would be to include ticket prices and food within the tour so we're not paying out of pocket day of. Book with Joao!

The tour was well organized and the guide Miguel informative and flexible In addition we spend another half day in Lisbon. Miguel really made a big effort to show us what we like to see. We have a very good impression of Lisbon and Portugal. Will come again Would recommend him for any future tours

This tour was referred to my by a friend and I couldn't have a asked for a better way to see Sintra. Our guide, Rui (Roy) was a extremely accommodating, very professional and knowledgeable not only about the history or Portugal but current events. He gave great suggestions where to eat, made wonderful conversation about Portugal's economy with respect to the US and offered to help attend to my young daughter so we could enjoy the our time. I highly recommend this tour company to anyone who visits Lisbon.

MIguel is an outstanding guide. He is savvy enough to have picked us up 1/2 hour early so we would be some of the first people entering the Castelo Pena. He is knowledgeable, likable, and an exceptional driver. He was very patient with my trying to understand Portuguese through Spanish. Our lunch visit to Casa de Luis will be a story I tell for years. What an amazing day. You are cheating yourself if you don't hire this tour company.

Our guide Andy provided a wonderful, customized day in Sintra and Cascais. He is very knowledgeable, personable and accommodating. Would not hesitate to recommend him. Also brought us for one of our favorite lunches at a local establishment.

We were so happy to have Andy [Diogo] both days, He took us all around Lisbon the first day and to Sintra the next day! He took us to the custard tart bakery, his favorite places to eat, the Moorish castle, a private winery visit and more! He also showed us the beach town of Cascais! He was so knowledgeable and nice to talk to! We really enjoyed our first time in Lisbon because of these tours! We never would have been able to find such wonderful experiences on our own. Our Sintra private tour was one of our best experiences. We had to reschedule it only 1 day ahead from the 6th June to the 5th and the company did everything to make it happen. We got the best guide ever, Joao who arrived on time with a huge smile and perfect English and it went really smoothly from the beginning. He proposed us to start the tour early (8.30 am) in order to be in Sintra before all the tourist buses and the Pena Palace was almost empty so we could take perfect photos. He knows everything about history and he tells it in an interesting way. After visiting the amazing Palacio we had a nice walk in the city and lunch in a Portuguese local restaurant where we got a delicious fish plate with wine. Afterwards we got to the most western point of the European continent, which was proposed by Joao. The last 1,5 hours we spent in Lisbon for our request. I really can recommend this tour (take your coat and a comfortable shoes with you, the Palace is on 1500 meter and the weather might be cold). Thank you so much for the experience!!!

During our three day tour to Lisbon, Sintra, and Cascais, Roy(Rui) was very knowledgeable about Portugal's vast history and taught us a lot that you wouldn't know otherwise. He was always pleasant, respectful and well-dressed. His suggestions in dealing with jet lag were spot on. The hotels he recommended were fantastic, as were the restaurants he took us to or suggested. We will tell our friends and family about our wonderful tour company and special guide!

We booked both the half day tour of Lisbon and the full day Sintra tour with Pedro as our guide. I would highly recommend this company and these tours in particular. Pedro was amazing. With obvious pride, he showed us highlights of both Lisbon and Sintra. He was considerate, knowledge and flexible. Fantastic!!!

Our trip to Sintra was spectacular! Andy was our guide and thanks to him, we were the first ones at Pena Palace. What a treat it was to be there just before the crowds showed up! He was professional and very attentive to our needs. Spending the day with Andy and visiting these sites was one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal!

Miguel gave us a wonderful tour on my birthday! The weather was not great, but it didn't matter. We really appreciated being able to walk down through the forest from Pena Palace, even in the rain. That was a magical walk, and we're grateful he gave us that option. One of the reasons we signed up for this tour was to spend time and learn from a local person in a more in-depth way than a standard city tour allows. We very much enjoyed sitting and talking with Miguel over tea and pastries and at lunch. He's an interesting and thoughtful person, and we learned a lot from him. The other thing we really appreciated was the time flexibility. We're not great at getting up early, so we were able to leave a little later. We really appreciated Miguel's flexibility with this. Did I mention that the scenery was amazing? Cabo do Roca is very impressive. Of course, we wished the weather had been better for spending time on the beach, but we were glad for what we did get to see. Thank you, Miguel! We would recommend this tour to anyone and hope they get you as their guide.

We recently took this tour on our last day in Portugal. Our guide was Pedro, and we all had a fantastic time. Pedro was great, and very knowledgeable about the area and the history of the various little towns we visited. He arranged lunch at a very charming and authentic Portuguese restaurant, where we had the most delicious meal! He also allowed us to be flexible, even managing to change our time for the winery tour, as we needed to get back in Lisbon a little earlier, due to a very early flight home the next day. The tour van was brand new, sparkling clean and very comfortable. I highly recommend this tour company. Thanks again, Pedro!!!

Andy was professional and personable, present personality, attentive to our every wishes. Our memories of Lisbon were excellent and love the city and countryside.

<p>Sintra Day trip was really nice. The guide did an excellent job and knew what he was doing. We had an informative port wine tasting and a delightful lunch at a really authentic local restaurant that was also the chef's house! The fish was superb. Later that day we had a great private tour of a local winery. I'd say the only negative was that the port tasting and winery tours were a bit too long and we would have liked to visit one or more of the other sights along the way - maybe a stop in Cascais. And, we found that the port wine we bought was1/2 the price in the airport. I'm fine paying a premium at a winery but the tour took us to a shop, not a winery. 20 or 30 premium for the tasting is fine. But 100 is too much. Otherwise, we had a lot of fun and I'd recommend this tour company highly.</p>

Our two days with Miguel were the highlights of our recent Iberian vacation. We were quickly won over by his charm and encyclopedic knowledge of the history, culture and lore of Portugal. He tailored the tours to our own interests, and we can't wait to come back: a special country and a special person.

My friend and I did a private tour of Sintra with John. We had a really great experience - we appreciated the flexibility of a private tour and being able to see the specific sites we wanted to see. We were really grateful that we got to Pena Palace early before most other tourists arrived - it was great planning on their part and allowed us to maximize our experience there. One of my favorite parts was the off the beaten path stop at the convent, which was like nothing else I've experienced and was really peaceful. I enjoyed talking to the guide about Portuguese culture and getting in touch with the true Portuguese experience. We also ate at a great restaurant for lunch when we were there, and John knew the owners personally, so we felt very welcome. All in all a wonderful day and we were glad we did a private tour - Sintra was quite a magical place!

We were very fortunate to be able to spend day in Sintra with Roi. Roi shared so much information with us about the area, the history, current events, food and so on. We truly enjoyed every minute we were lucky enough to spend with him. We came away from the day knowing so much more about the history of Portugal and how it helped to form this amazing country. Roi is not only interesting but very funny and entertaining too! We actually booked another day with him touring Lisbon and he did not let us down....it was great!

The folks at Sintra Magik were exceptional from time of booking to completion of our fantastic private day trip from Lisbon which included visits to Cascais, Sintra, Belem, the western most point of mainland Europe and several gorgeous stops along the western coast of Portugal! We also visited a family-owned wine cellar for a wine tasting and a local seafood restaurant for lunch. THIS WAS MY SOME OF THE BEST SEAFOOD I'VE HAD IN MY LIFE. Our guide, Diogo, took me and my two girlfriends on a private tour of all of the above and it was our most favorite day out of our 10 days spent in Spain and Portugal this past April. Diogo was friendly, flexible, knowledgeable and SO MUCH FUN! We would highly recommend this tour company and especially our tour guide Diogo!
