However, if you opt to explore the Pena Palace Park and terraces, you will have time to visit a second monument in Sintra, such as Quinta da Regaleira or the Sintra National Palace. The admission fee is up to €20.
Enjoy panoramic views of the Moorish Castle from carefully chosen vantage points around Sintra. From these spots, you can admire the castle’s historic walls, towers, and the surrounding lush landscapes, capturing the best angles for photos without the need for a full climb, while learning about its rich history and strategic importance.
Enjoy a visit to the charming Sintra Old Town, wandering its cobbled streets, colorful buildings, and lively squares. You’ll have time to browse for souvenirs, taste the famous local Queijadas and Travesseiros, and enjoy a leisurely lunch at a local restaurant, soaking in the authentic atmosphere of this historic town.
Admire the Sintra National Palace from selected viewpoints, taking in its distinctive twin chimneys, medieval architecture, and colorful façade. This palace can be chosen as one of the two monuments to visit on your tour, allowing you to explore its history and significance while enjoying scenic photo opportunities from the surrounding vantage points.
Explore the enchanting Quinta da Regaleira, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its mystical gardens, hidden tunnels, and the iconic Initiation Well. Wander through romantic terraces, fountains, and chapels while discovering the symbolism and legends that make this palace and estate one of Sintra’s most magical attractions. You can opt to visit another Sintra monument and sightsee from outside this one. Admission fee is a maximum of 20 €
Take in the beauty of Palácio de Monserrate from carefully selected viewpoints, admiring its exotic architectural style, lush gardens, and stunning landscape setting. This palace can be chosen as one of the monuments to visit, offering a chance to appreciate its unique blend of Gothic, Indian, and Moorish influences while capturing memorable photos.
Experience the breathtaking landscapes of the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, where rugged cliffs meet the Atlantic Ocean and lush hills roll inland. From scenic viewpoints along the route, admire dramatic coastal cliffs, windswept beaches, and verdant forests, capturing the raw beauty of one of Portugal’s most protected and picturesque natural areas.
Stop at Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe, and take in the dramatic cliffs and endless Atlantic Ocean views. This iconic location is perfect for photos, offering breathtaking scenery and a sense of standing at the edge of the continent.
Enjoy a picturesque drive along the Cascais coastal road, where dramatic cliffs, sandy beaches, and panoramic Atlantic views create unforgettable scenery. Stop briefly at Guincho Beach, famous for its windswept sands and powerful waves, a favorite spot for surfers and photographers alike.
Visit Boca do Inferno, a dramatic cliff formation where powerful Atlantic waves crash into a natural sea cave. This striking viewpoint offers spectacular photo opportunities and a chance to witness one of Portugal’s most iconic coastal landmarks.
Explore the charming center of Cascais, a picturesque seaside town known for its vibrant streets, historic buildings, and relaxed marina atmosphere. Stroll along the waterfront, admire the colorful architecture, visit local shops, or enjoy a coffee while soaking in the coastal charm of this elegant town.
Enjoy a scenic drive through Estoril, a sophisticated coastal town famous for its elegant promenade, beautiful beaches, and historic casino. Take in the views of the Atlantic coastline, charming villas, and landscaped gardens that make Estoril a favorite destination for both locals and visitors.

We had a memorable day visiting Pena Palace, Sintra and Quinta da Regalaira. Our guide Jose, was kind, positive and very knowledgeable. He not only explained the history and significance of the stops along the way, but also complemented with videos and photographs. The lines to visit the inside of the palace were long, we were glad we skipped it and visited the gardens. Quinta de Regalaira was much bigger than we anticipated, and it was mesmerizing. We had enough time to visit the National Palace, and truly enjoyed lunch at a local restaurant Jose arranged for us. Lunch was outside of Sintra and at a restaurant where locals eat, the fish and the octopus were fresh and cooked to perfection. All in all, we can't take Jose enough for being our guide and sharing part of his country's history with us. Also, given the traffic and the amount of tourists around us, we believe this was the smartest way to visit this part of Portugal.
Pedro was so wonderful and accommodating. He tailored the tour to meet our needs. He was a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the history of the area. Would highly recommend!
If you want to get a great feel for Portugal and learn about its wonderful history, this is the experience for you.
Jose was great and flexible with the kids, and very knowledgeable about the sites. He made sure we had a great time. Great tour!
This was without a doubt the best tour that we have taken in our travels. Pedro is an incredibly kind and thoughtful tour guide who went far above and beyond our expectations to create an experience that was perfect for us!
Antonio gave us a fantastic tour as well as introduction to Portugal’s history. He took us to some wonderfully unique places that we would have never known to even consider visiting while in Portugal. Honestly, the side excursions that we saw along way were often better than the planned highlights that all tourists come to see. It was an incredible experience to see actual places where locals love and dine rather than get the generic touring experience that one gets on a bigger bus tour. This tour was private and gave us views few first time travelers ever see that were most definitely worth while.
Jose is a brilliant, fun, engaging guide. We felt as if we were visiting a close friend who was taking us around to all his favorite and best spots. Jose shared wonderful fun stories on the history of the area and places we visited - Pena Palace, Sintra, Cascais, and more. He never rushed us, but encouraged us to take our time and see all we wanted to see. We’re already planning another trip to Portugal and will be contacting Jose again!
Antonio was prompt, friendly and gave great advice and background for our tour. He adapted to our wishes and we both had a spectacular day tour.
John was a great tour guide. Took us on a little xtra stop. Well worth it. A fair amount of walking, but not that big of a deal.
John was an amazing tour guide! He was so knowledgeable of the area! He was flexible throughout the day, able to pivot when needed based on our requests. John was personable & interested in sharing information, but not overkill. Stopped at a great restaurant by the beach for lunch! He had a nice clean vehicle which took to the roads beautifully. Totally recommend John!
We booked our tour several weeks in advance, a must during the high season, and Pedro was excellent in all respects - knowledgeable, friendly, courteous, and flexible. He is a bit of a Renaissance man, highly intelligent with broad ranging knowledge of history, architectural, cultural traditions, food, government, etc. He clearly knows the Sintra, Cascais, and Cabo de Roca areas like the back of his hand. We had a group of 7 and the ride was comfortable, cool, and roomy. Thanks, Pedro! Highly recommend.
Sites were amazing. Sintra is a must see. Guide was fun, knowledgeable and flexible. Best tour by far.
We only had one day in Portugal so we chose this tour since most other tours are too early. We went to see Sintra, Pena Palace, Cascais, Cabo de Roca, and drove through Lisbon. We didn’t go inside Quinta de Regaleira to see the well which was something we were looking forward to. If time allowed, we probably would have went with the other tours that could go to all the places we wanted to see. The van is comfortable, although some AC problem during second half of the tour. Our guide Joao was friendly and told us much history of Portugal. Overall, it’s a good and enjoyable tour.
Our guide Joao was very kind and courteous and did not rush us. He was very knowledgeable about the history, buildings and culture of the areas we went to. The palaces, gardens, and towns were beautiful and well worth the trip.
Wonderful tour. Luis adjusted the trip to our wish list and took us to many beautiful sites at the coast. He was so knowledgeable about the area and even extended our tour past the finish time.
Antonio was wonderful, very knowledgeable and a lovely man. We very much enjoyed our day with him through beachside towns near Lisbon!
A great day experiencing a little of everything the coast has to offer. I would recommend sneakers as there is considerable amount of walking and hiking. Our guide was wonderful! He was informative and professional.
Pedro was an excellent guide. Was in communication from the time the tour was booked. Gave detailed explanation of all the sites we visited. Gave us adequate time to see all the places. Never rushed us.
Pedro was awesome! He tailored our tour based on what we wanted to do, he navigated all of the cool spots with knowledge, followed our pace, gave us plenty of history as we chit chatted in between stops! And, kindly had coins so we could use the restroom, Who carries coins with them! 😂. I would highly recommend his tour!
This was a great way to see Sintra and learn about the area and History. Pedro was a fabulous guide.
Sintra is well worth the trip. It’s a beautiful town and area. I would highly recommend you only plan on one castle if ur planning on seeing many of the other options which are well worth seeing. It took more than 2 hours to see Pena castle alone and that doesn’t include the driving time to get up there. The lines for tickets are long, the queue is long, the castle was more than a half hour behind for timed tickets and it’s a line throughout the visit. One can’t just roam around to view the castle. I understand it’s the same for all the castles. We had skip-the-line-tickets. Keep in mind this was April 3rd not high season. Though I wanted to see Pena and Quinta da Regaleira, with lunch there wouldn’t have been much time for anything else in a 7 hour tour. This was advised by our guide, Nuno, from the start so there was no surprise and we were able to make a decision prior to the tour. You could easily spend 3 days in Sintra. The town itself you will want to spend time in. We can’t say enough kind words about our guide. He didn’t rush us at all, yet was very aware of time required for chosen sites. He not only drove us to all the sites we wanted to see but went above and beyond to take us to a surprise site, found a fabulous locals restaurant for lunch and was a great photographer. He was a lot of fun and had a great sense of humor.
Pedro made our day an amazing experience from start to finish. We left our ship and arrived at the port terminal earlier than the agreed time but he was already there to pick us up and courteously helped us with our luggage. Throughout the whole day Pedro was friendly, relaxed and accommodating with the program so we could take it at our own pace. With a good command of the English language, Pedro has a wealth of knowledge to share not just as a guide but in many aspects of life in Portugal, its history, geography, society, and offered us many insider tips on transport options, food and wines, etc. The car was clean, water was provided, driving was smooth and safe. Nothing was too much trouble for Pedro who went out of his way to drop us off after the tour at a specific venue and arrange for luggage storage.
Nuno was wonderful. So knowledgeable, friendly and flexible. He accommodated my Wife’s bad knee and we had a magical day! The van was clean and comfortable and he picked us up from the hotel right on time.
Pedro is a phenomenal tour guide and has deep knowledge of the area. He keeps the day moving well, provided insightful information about the various points and gives you enough alone time to explore as you desire. It's the perfect day to see everything the area has to offer.
Excellent guide and we enjoyed the popular destinations and the unusual destinations. Loved learning about many Portuguese traditions and seeing such fantastic historical sites. We had a wonderful tour. Thank you.
Very friendly driver picked us up at our hotel, timing was perfect. Tailored a beautiful day to our wishes. His inside knowledge of the trip was priceless. Fantastic recommendation for an amazing oceanside lunch in Cascais. Would highly recommend.
We were in Portugal for 12 days. The best 3 were the days we spent with Pedro. We started with an amazing all day tour of 2 palaces in the Sintra area followed by a visit to the coastal area near Cascais. Pedro speaks fluent English and is very knowledgeable of this area since he lives there. The highlight of the day was a late lunch at a beautiful seafood restaurant right on the Atlantic. We also did a second all day tour to a nature park and other cities near Lisbon. Our last tour was an all day journey from Porto where he picked us up from our cruise ship to Lisbon with stops in 4 beautiful cities. I cannot say enough about how considerate Pedro is. If we return to Portugal he would certainly be at the top of our list to help us have a memorable vacation
Pedro took us to many different locations in particular the Pena Palace. He was very knowledgeable and drove calmly. We had a great time and I highly recommend this trip.
We loved our trip to Sintra, Cabo da Roca, and Cascais. Our guide was very punctual, friendly, and helpful. We made our way to Sintra in no time, and went to explore and shop it the quaint town on our own before heading to the Pena Palace. We got to see so much, the palace is a must, especially with such an experienced and knowledgeable guide! The experience was completely tailored to what we were interested in, and flexible, as we changed our mind about visiting a second site in Sintra. Cabo da Roca was spectacular, and we loved the beautiful seaside town of Cascais. All in all, we had a wonderful day, highly recommend the experience!
Pedro was absolutely fantastic! Having a private tour was definitely the best way to see this area. We enjoyed the view of Cabo Da Roca and then Pedro took us to a nice little Cafe and showed us the Portuguese traditional treats to enjoy. He was so knowledgeable on the Pena Palace and toured us through the gardens and the little chaple to sing and hear our voices echo where the monks had gone to meditate. We then toured the Palace of Regalia which was so interesting. Pedro knew the history of the Initiation Well and all the symbols of the grounds. The best part of this trip was that Pedro picked us up from our hotel in Cascais. Most tours leave from lisbon but this was wonderful if you are staying in Cascais.
Our guide Pedro was friendly and knowledgeable. He told us a lot of stories about the symbolism in Pena Palace and shared insights into the gardens there. We also went to Quinta da Regaleira where he told us about the man who built the tunnels and wells on the property as well as the palace. Lots of fascinating legends! I wasn't feeling well and Pedro took care to ask how I was doing. He was very kind
Pedro was a fantastic guide and brought Sintra alive for us. His description and history of each of the monuments was amazing and he held our attention all through the tour. Thank you, once again, Pedro, for the memorable visit to Sintra.
Our guide Pedro was excellent. Very knowledgeable and showed us all the little hidden gems about each location. Sintra, Cabo de Roca and Regulierdo are an absolute must do. Incredible!
Pedro was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Everything we saw was amazing! Highly recommend this tour!
Our guide Pedro was the best. Very knowledgeable. We would recommend him to anyone taking a tour in Portugal!
Pedro is a terrific guide. He knows all the best routes, knows the sites very well, and shares lots of useful and fun info. He’s a polite and an absolute professional host and is focused on your trip being enjoyable. We were thoroughly impressed with his tour. We immensely enjoyed our time and would highly recommend this tour especially with Pedro as the host. It was the highlight of our time in Portugal!
We had an amazing tour of Sintra, the Cabo da Roca cliffs, and Cascais. Pedro was incredibly nice and knowledgeable about the area and all the stops we made. We thoroughly enjoyed our day and definitely recommend this tour.
Nuno gave us the best tour and information about the wonderful areas surrounding Lisbon. Wonderful food and wine tour. Also, a wonderful suggestion for a private dinner.
Due to car trouble we ended up with a different driver than planned, but it worked out great. Nunno was awesome and was a great guide for our trip to Sintra and Quinta da Regaleira and Cabo do Roca. He was genuine and provided information yet added a sense of humor that our group thoroughly enjoyed. Great recommendation on lunch too! Thank you Nunno for the great tour.
Pedro was fantastic! He has a wonderful knowledge of history and an enthusiastic and engaging personality. He even surprised us with tickets to Peña Palace! One of the most spectacular and memorable tours ever!!!
This is a must do if you're in Lisbon for more than a couple of days. Our guide Pedro was quite knowledgeable and very attentive to our needs, especially since one of us has mobility issues. Because of him the trip was a total success.
Completely as advertised, with a good circle tour from Lisbon and back to Lisbon. I do think he will start at other points and do the same circle. Extremely knowledgeable, Pedro, plans ahead, and knows where to drop you and where to pick you up to reduce stress and make it more fun. He also knows a lot of the history and lives in the area. A survey tour, but you can add and take away different things. He spent a couple hours with us more than advertised which we really appreciated.
Our family of 8 had a fantastic tour to Sintra with Pedro. Pedro was punctual, charming, knowledgeable and efficient. He was so considerate and accommodating to the different needs of our group, and always with a smile. He has a lot of experience on the most efficient routes to avoid tourists and queues, as well as a wealth of historical information on the sites. We appreciated that he listened to our needs, adjusted the plans to suit us and recommended terrific lunch (and other eating places) from his local knowledge.
Pedro was phenomenal. I learned so much about Portugal in such a short period of time because of him. Overall, a wonderful experience!
You are driven from place to place which is nice. Our tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable. I do recommend this tour but honestly there are too many options in Sintra.
Our trip to Sintra was absolutely perfect! Reuben was amazing, could not recommend him more. This was one of the best days of our trip, everything about it was fantastic. Reuben was so informational, showed us beautiful "hidden" spots, great picture locations, and was so much fun to spend a full day with. This is a must-do trip when visiting and do your best to have Reuben as your guide!
Stephania was great she knew her history and general knowledge of all the places. Very patient and helpful, would highly recommend this tour
Favorite part of the experience was being able to customize the sights we wanted to see; and given ample & flexible time to explore without sticking to a regimen. Most importantly. we really enjoyed chatting with Stephanie and sharing life stories!
Perdro was our unexpected surprised today. My friend and I from London were coming from Lisbon to spent the day in Sintra. He met us at the station, approached us kindly, explained the different offers he add. We picked the tour for the day to stop by 5 main touristic point. He was kind, gave us all the direction we needed and a little bit of history of Sintra. I would definitely recommend him. We had an absolutely beautiful time there because of him. Thank you so much.
