Quinta da Regaleira is visited only when selecting the Pena Palace & Quinta da Regaleira Tour option. This option includes the entrance ticket, interior visit, and guided support at Quinta da Regaleira, including its gardens, symbolic architecture, hidden tunnels, and the famous Initiation Well. With the Essential Sintra Tour option, Quinta da Regaleira is not visited and is not part of the itinerary. Gabriel was very knowledgeable. The sights were amazing! Quinta da Regaleria and the well was fantastic, though a bit strenuous. Pena Palace was also gorgeous. Loved Sintra! However, the vehicle we had was quite small for the 4 of us plus the guide. With the length of time spent in the car, a larger van would have been more functional and comfortable. It also would have helped to know the amount of walking and how strenuous it was. Would still recommend this tour.

Our experience at Pena Palace, the gardens, moorish castle and Cave wine tasting with Ravi as our guide was amazing! Ravi made the experience especially memorable with his knowledge of the palace and Portugal’s history. He was also very flexible (depending on whether you like walking or not, shopping or not, to use of his vintage convertible (which we loved). He also kept us hydrated and well-fed with tasty local pastries! We cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience with Rodrigo! From beginning to end, he was absolutely outstanding and truly made our day exploring the Sintra region one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal. Rodrigo’s knowledge was simply incredible. What a fabulous, day we had in Sintra ! It started when we were collected dead on time from our hotel by Ravi, our guide. He immediately made us feel comfortable as we settled into his car and told us what our itinerary would be for the day ahead. This started with a visit to the “old” town where we parked up and were guided down through the narrow streets to the Royal Palace. Then back to the car by way of Piriquita Pastelaria to pick up some pastries and on to the Moorish Castle, stopping at points of interest on the way, all the time Ravi giving a running commentary on the styles of architecture, the history of the area and stories of the people that created this unique area. The high point of the tour was the visit to the wonderful Pena Palace and the walk through the gardens. As if that wasn’t enough, Ravi then took us to a local restaurant where we had a delicious dish of “legatos de porco”. This really was the way to experience the wonders of Sintra and all thanks to Ravi, our guide for the day. It really was a day my wife and I will never forget – again, many thanks, Ravi,
An amazing day from start to finish. Sintra is a must see. The palace is spatacular and very unique. Our guide Marques was superb. His enthusiasm for his job is readily apparent. He paced the tour perfectly so we saw everything without feeling rushed. At the end of the day our guide recommended a resturant for a black pig dinner. That was one of our best meals ever.

We had a great time on our tour! The sights were beautiful. Dani was a great driver and guide, she made sure we were comfortable all day and had great local insights about everything we saw! She also knew all the best photo spots and offered to take many pics of me and my husband throughout the day, which was wonderful. Carlos was a great guide. His love for history really stood out. He was patient and didn’t rush us. Overall I really enjoyed him as our guide. He knew so much about the Palance and Lisbon in general. Good communication, clean vehicle. The Palace is very busy and beautiful there are so many people it’s hard to really enjoy the experience. The gardens are beautiful. I definitely recommend going early and packing patience. Sintra was charming but also busy even for the start of off season. You need comfortable shoes on this tour like you do in all of Lisbon, lots of walking and hills. The beaches are pretty on this tour, you don’t have a lot of time, glance and go.

We had a pick up by Rodrigo at our hotel. He was on time and pleasant. We learned a lot about the area and Sintra where we were headed to. We did a tour through the Pena Palace gardens which I would highly recommend before visiting the palace. Rodrigo was very knowledgeable about the history of the Palace and knew how to get the most out of our tour for us. It was a great 4 hours spent and we would recommend him and the company he works for in the future. Definitely not for anyone with mobility issues or have difficulty climbing up hills. He recommended a wonderful restaurant for us to go have lunch at after the tour was done. A 10 out of 10 experience

Great tour of Sintra. First, pickup was on time and at out hotel. Tourguide was Rodrigo. Engaging, friendly and knowledgeable. He lead a tour for my wife and myself more as a friend showing us around, than a robotic tour guide following a scrip. Flexible, but structured enough to keep us on schedule for all the pre-ticked entrances. We saw and learned a lot. His driving was safe and the walking was easy (~10k+ steps). He took great photos of us and gave excellent lunch & dinner recommendations. No surprises and no hidden or unexpected cost. Highly recommend tour of Sintra.
Julio was so wonderful ! The scenery was amazing and we did and saw so much more than we would on our own or with a group tour. Private was the way to go! Julio was so attentive to our needs and we got to sornd more time on the things that mattered most to us. Portugal was beautiful and amazing and our guide showed true passion for what he does
Our guide was Leo and he was so nice, polite and knowledgeable. We were picked up at the scheduled time and he explained the schedule and where we were visiting and a bit of the history to us. He was super sweet with our mom and made sure she was able to go to the top tower at Sintra Castle and explained all the interesting information about the sights we were visiting. He recommended good pathways to make sure we see as much as possible and also not to get too tired. We noticed more groups from the same operator and all the guides were very friendly and informative with their groups. But Leo was excellent. We went on a walk around the different spots in the palace and he pointed out things that we would have 100% missed on our own. We ended our day with a great lunch at a place he recommended and rested before taking a nice walk around old city of Sintra and had the famous pillow pastry! Leo, thank you so much for an amazing day and the beautiful memories you help create from our time in Portugal!!

My wife and I had a private tour with a wonderful local guide named Leo, and the entire experience could not have been better. Leo was exceptionally professional, knowledgeable, and personable. Just as importantly, he was thoughtful and considerate throughout the tour. There is some uphill walking involved, and although it was certainly manageable, we needed to take things a little slower and stop occasionally for a short break. Leo never made us feel rushed and adjusted the pace perfectly for us, which we greatly appreciated. He also carried my wife’s backpack. We were also incredibly lucky with the weather. It was cloudy and in the mid-70s°F on the day of our tour. The day before and the day after were sunny and in the upper 90s, which would have made the uphill portions considerably more difficult, particularly for older visitors. If you’re visiting during the summer, the temperature and sun are definitely worth keeping in mind. One of the great advantages of having Leo as our guide was how well he knew the site. He knew all the shortcuts and the best ways to get around, and it quickly became obvious that he was very well known there. Many of the people working at the site recognized him and greeted him warmly, which gave us the feeling that we were touring with a true local insider rather than simply following the standard tourist route. We had purchased our tickets in advance, so getting in was effortless and we were able to move to the front of the line without any hassle. Leo even picked us up directly from our hotel, which was approximately 40 minutes from the castle. He dropped us off when we were done. From beginning to end, everything was seamless. No confusion, no hassles, no glitches — just an extremely well-organized and enjoyable experience. As an unexpected bonus, during our tour I happened to meet the owner of the company, who was personally giving another tour that day. He was absolutely charming and genuinely seemed delighted to meet and talk with his clients. That says a great deal about the kind of company this is. We travel quite a bit and know the difference between an average tour and a truly memorable one. This was the latter. Excellent guide, excellent organization, personal service, and a company that clearly cares about its customers. I would recommend Leo and this company without hesitation. If you’re considering a private tour, book it — you’ll be glad you did.
Diogo was an absolute pro, he knew everything about the cities we visited. He took us on secret shortcuts and he dropped us off and picked us up in great spots, super accommodating and he took pictures for us all along the way.
