Private Half-day Sintra Tour From Lisbon With Pena Palace Ticket

OMG I just spent 20 minutes writing a 5 star review and then lost it because I had to do a password reset! Ugh. So now you should realize this is a real reviewer. You are now getting the short version! 1) Book this tour if you don't want the hassle of having to find a "meet up point" to start the tour or have the hassle of buying your palace ticket in advance of the tour or as a separate charge. Also book with this tour company, O' Tourista Tours and Trips because they buy a permit that allows their drivers to park further up the hill to the palace. We had a quick 12 minute or so walk...not that steep and I can say that as I'm a senior. Book this trip and ask for Gabriel as your tour guide. He's a college grad with a concentration in history and tourism. He's knowledgeable, professional and entertaining. He will also give you an honest opinion on what will or will not make your tour the most enjoyable. We decided to tour the inside rooms and outside grounds of Pena Castle and to visit the town of Sintra, where we ended up having tea and pastries and bought some last minute souvenirs. It was the perfect afternoon! Total trip time door to door was about 5.5 hours. We hit some traffic on the way back. Make sure you ask for Gabriel. He left us with wonderful memories of our visit to Portugal. Tell him those women from Chicago who liked to talk politics sent you!

Our day in Sintra with Leo was fantastic! He was a fabulous guide, very informative and helpful to make our experience worthwhile! We loved touring the Penne palace, with Leo’s guidance helping navigate the crowds! It’s a must see! After a brief stop for lunch we walked up to see the incredible Quinta Regaleira palace and grounds with the many tunnels and well. It was beautiful and interesting and Leo was extremely helpful and knowledgeable!

The drivers/guides Jorge and Lio picked us from our hotel. They were very flexible, knowledgeable and super kind to us! We had such a fun time!

We had the most wonderful day touring Sintra with Julio. He went out of his way to make sure that everyone in our party felt comfortable, from my 3 year old son to my 77 year old father. He tailored the tour towards our interests and was a fountain of knowledge regarding the castles and the surrounding area. He suggested a wonderful authentic Portuguese restaurant for lunch that we all enjoyed. Would highly recommend Julio as a tour guide!

Despite a confirmed reservation with Viator tickets issued, Vendor did not show. The vendor said we were not on their schedule. Said computer problems between Viator and vendor. Very disappointed. We do not have another date. First time Viator let us down. Expect full refund!

Carlos is an exceptional guide. He is well versed in his expertise of the history of Portugal. He also is an expert in sharing places to visit, what to eat and where to shop. A very professional and friendly person. He did an amazing job navigating us through Sinatra and even gave us a bonus tour of Cascais! Ask for Carlos to be your guide on your side when visiting Lisbon!

We took this tour the last day of our vacation. Jorge, a Sintra local, was our guide and he was amazing! Super friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the places we visited (Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira). He also took a bunch of pictures of us on the tour, which was much appreciated. Julio picked us up at our hotel in Sintra and proved to be both an informative and fun guide. We spent a lot of time in the gardens of Peña Palace which were so interesting before we headed into the palace. Even though it was crowded Julio made it work really well. We then headed to Quinta da Regaleira to see the palace and climb down the spiral staircase. This did not disappoint. Julio spent our time together checking we were happy and if we wanted to see anything else, his care and concern for our enjoyment of the day was great. His knowledge is to be commended. Getting to ride in his vintage convertible was an added bonus and made the experience even more magical. We can’t say enough about Ravi and how much both myself and my children enjoyed our time with him. He gave us recommendations to make the most of our last day when we returned to Lisbon. We had a great time visiting & touring Sintra Palace. Our guide Francisco was prompt, professional & knowledgeable. He picked us up at our hotel in Cascais, then to Sintra, back to Cascais to grab our luggage, then to our hotel in Lisbon. All the while being pleasant and engaging. Highly recommended!

Our guide Leo was right on time and made our can of 7 feel very comfortable immediately he is a great driver and tour guide. We got to see many sights at the Pena Palace and grounds as well as time in old town Sintra. Great informative trip with a very nice guide

Dani was great. She couldn’t have been nicer. We saw a lot. She provided good descriptions and we were able to avoid some of the crowds thanks to her knowledge and experience.

Leo and Dani did an excellent job providing information about the sites on the tour. With 8 people, they came with 2 vehicles instead of 1 van which was a blessing - more room for us and easier for them to drive and park in town. They provided great insight about the palace, the people, the castle - even recommended a great place for lunch that was delicious and very reasonable. The trip length was longer than the time listed on the booking due to crowds but Leo and Dani never made us feel like we should hurry along/rush us. With a few people who had walking issues, they were very cognizant of taking their time, allowing for rest stops and being very gracious. When we did a rest stop, they would tell us things about what we were seeing - I'm sure it was more than we would have been told if we had kept walking. It was an amazing day with amazing sights! I would highly recommend the tour. Sintra has a very calming feel/vibe - you can feel it when you are driving in to the city and especially when you get out of the vehicle. Yes, you can take the train from Lisbon and then walk to Sintra - but this was so much easier and less hassle/guessing!
