Private Experience Óbidos Nazaré And Fátima Or Aveiro And Óbidos

We booked a private tour to Fatima, Batalha and Óbidos with Picta Travel and had a wonderful experience. It all started with back and forth communication through WhatsApp so that what we wanted were incorporated into the itinerary. Response was amazingly fast. They made good suggestions on how to make the best out of the day and even suggested and booked the restaurant of our choice for dinner after the tour. The car was clean and comfortable. Credit should go to the tour guide ( cum driver ) Marta who was very friendly, helpful and flexible. Her profound knowledge about the places we visited, her talent in story-telling, and above all, her enthusiasm, had made our visit so interesting and enjoyable. She picked the restaurant at Batalha for our lunch and recommended to us the local specialties. It turned out to be the best roasted pork we had in this journey. She tried her best to accommodate our ad hoc requests and adjusted the visit schedule accordingly. As our restaurant booking was for 7 p.m., she actually extended our time in Óbidos so that we would not be too early when we returned to Lisbon for dinner. Overall speaking, Picta Travel and their staff are very professional, thorough and caring. They put the customers first and provide excellent services. I would highly recommend them to those who value personal attention, need immersive experience and want to rest assured that they are in good hands.

We thoroughly enjoyed our private tour in Sintra. The Quinta da Regaleira with the Intention Well was amazing! We then visited a beautiful coastal fishing village and had one of the best lunches during our trip. After lunch was the Pena Palace that was filled with so much history. Ines was the perfect guide. Her passion for history and art truly ensured the best experience! Highly recommend.

My family and I had a great time today touring Tomar, Nazaré and Óbidos. This was the 2nd tour we did this week with Picta Travel and like the first, it did not disappoint! I like that you can customize your day and pick the towns you want to see. Our guide, Matheus, was definitely one of the highlights of the day. In addition to being a great guide, he is easy to talk to and we shared a lot of laughs throughout the day. I would definitely book another tour with him next time we are in Lisbon!

We spent a full 8-hour day touring Fátima, Nazaré, and Óbidos with Marta, and it was such a wonderful experience. Even though the weather was rainy, it didn’t slow us down at all—we actually lucked out, because every time the heavy rain came, we happened to be in the car! Marta was incredibly knowledgeable and shared so much interesting history and context throughout the day. She was also very kind, easy to talk to, and made the entire experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. Thank you, Marta, for a fantastic day of exploring! My friend and I wanted to visit some very specific towns in Portugal. We booked a private tour to Aviero and Obidos. Our driver/guide was Joao Fernandes who was fabulous. He gave us all kinds of information along the drive. Once we were in Aviero he treated us to a local delicacy Ovo mole. Since it was raining we didn't want to walk around too much nor take the gondola ride. Joao made lunch reservations at a local spot where we had a lively teadional lunch. Then we drove to Obidos which is a wonderful walled city. In our opinion this is a must see. You can see what a real walled city was like in pre-medieval times. He told some stories about the city which were so interesting. I won't share them here. You'll have to there yourself to hear them

Our tour with Joao Fernandes was an absolute delight. He is pleasant, well-mannered, and genuinely attentive to what his guests hope to experience. After listening to what we wanted to see and do, he tailored the day beautifully. He shared so many fascinating insights that were completely new to both of us, and his enthusiasm made every stop more enjoyable. Even with the rain coming down, we had a wonderful time. I would happily recommend this tour to anyone. It was fantastic from start to finish.

10/31/2025. My tour consisted of three locations, Fatima, Batalha and Obidos. Gabriela was my guide. The locations were all impressive to visit, but Gabriela really made them come to life! Her explanations between history, religion, culture and including myth versus fact really made me appreciate how these locations play a big part of Portugal. As a tour guide she was organized, punctual, open to questions and very engaging. I very much appreciate that she took her time with the tour because I love to learn about history. She made sure my mother was comfortable and happy with the pace of the tour as well. Overall this is a great tour for value, since its private it caters to your own timetable and desires of what to visit making it very flexible. I have no regrets choosing this company and very impressed with the guide.

The communication with tour company great. Gabby our tour guide was exceptional and did a great job giving us history of area. Fátima and Nazare beautiful. We had amazing lunch in Nazare. Unfortunately we had flat tire and did not get to tour Obidos. The tour company arranged transportation at their expense back to our hotel. Tour company made sure we got back safely and gave adjustment to tour cost.

Marta was great! She is very professional. It was so nice to spend the day with her. She is very Knowledgeable about so many aspects of Portugal. I highly recommend this tour to the 3 cities. We had a wonderful experience.

We had an excellent day with our guide Gabriella. She met us right on time at 8:30 am in a Mercedes AMG and headed to Fatima as our first stop. Along the way, we found Gabriella was incredibly well educated on a very wide range of subjects and also had a great sense of humor. It was such a pleasure to spend 9 hours with her. Gabriella provided an insightful history of Fatima and how it grew into one of the world’s most spiritual places. She provided us with an appropriate amount of free time for visiting the basilica and lighting a candle for prayer. We then went onto Nazaré and found our visit coincided with a special festival day. Many streets were closed and parking was scarce, but Gabriella expertly drove us through a number of detours to get close to the festival area. Again, Gabriella was a great guide in our walk through this beautiful town. Our final stop was Óbidos. Again, Gabriella’s detailed knowledge of the history of this village was impressive. Along the way to our three stops, Gabriella provided a number of relevant stories about the history of Portugal and Lisbon. We were so incredibly impressed with her background, humor, and detailed knowledge of the tour sights. It was a day that we will long remember. Obviously, this tour and Gabriella are highly recommended to all readers.

Wow, who knew we could pack so much into one day! Martim was the perfect guide — super friendly, easy to talk to, and full of great info. We had a group with a wide range of ages, and he did an amazing job making sure everyone was engaged and having a good time. We learned a ton — not just history, but the kind of stories that really bring each stop to life. There were also a few unexpected adventures that made the day even more fun. Martim was super flexible, happy to adjust the tour based on what caught our interest, and always patient when we wanted to linger or explore. It was such a memorable day — we couldn’t have asked for a better guide!

Gabriela our tour guide was amazing! She gave us a ton of information about Portugal and the places we visited in the car prior to getting to Fátima. We enjoyed our time there and headed to Nazare where we discovered the power had gone out in all of Portugal. We saw the coast and huge waves. Gabriela was resourceful and found us a place where we could dine and continued through the rest of the day to Obidos. We asked her questions about each area and she gave us thorough answers to all. She took wonderful care of us. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

We really enjoyed our tour to Obidos! Such a charming town and John was a great host. He was very flexible and knowledgeable!

We had the most enjoyable day with our guide, Gabriella. She met us at our hotel and took us first to Fatima. Once there, she purchased a pastry and coffee for us. She then told us the story of the three shepherd children and their encounter with Mary, the mother of Jesus. The are is quite moving. From there, we went to Nazaré . We enjoyed wonderful views of the famed surfing beach. She then took us to a fantastic restaurant with incredible views overlooking the ocean. The food, drink, and conversation were unbeatable. Our next stop was the adorable village of Óbidos. The town was adorned with roses over many of the shops and they were having a chocolate festival. Loved hearing the history of the place. We could not have asked for a better day.

Matheus was our tour guide for this trip. He was fantastic and took us to Tomar , Navara, And Obidos . When we went to Navara the fog was so bad we couldn’t see the waves , but it was still a great trip . He also took us to Obidos and we loved that town . He was very knowledgeable for all of the sites that we visited. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our trip . Marta was our tour guide. She was friendly and knowledgeable. She told us about the different legends surrounding Nazare and Obidos and about the miracle that happened in Fatima. She suggested a great restaurant for lunch in Nazaré where I can honestly say I had one of the best grilled fish (dorado) from the entire Portugal trip. All in all, a nice experience.

We had a wonderful day discovering these hidden gems from Portugal. We found this tour as we really wanted to see Nazare with my family, and we ended up discovering much more than this ! It was a very interesting immersion in some Portuguese more unknown and beautiful places. We had a lot of fun with the guide who was also full of interesting anecdotes and who made this day even greater.

Just a few minutes away from lisbon this is the perfect escape !! The medieval style of the village together with the tour great explanation, the amazing food and weather made this the perfect day!! Dont forget to ask for the ginginha

Fátima was very neat, certainly if you are a Christian. Nazare had gorgeous views and a sweet town, great food. Óbidos was the highlight of the trip. A medieval town with absolute charm, adorable shops and a must see. My family loved Óbidos. Overall this was a nice tour to see the countryside of Portugal. I recommend!

The tour was very complete. We wanted to go to Fatima due to its history and the holiness of the place. Obidos was the surprise, given we didn’t know much about it, but after visiting it, we fully recommend to visit. It is just charming. Finally Nazare didn’t disappoint with its waves. They are just breathtaking with their size and strength. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and he gave us the time we wanted to enjoy each place. We learned a lot and felt like locals while discovering each place. Each place is a different experience and in combination it becomes a very wholesome tour. We fully recommend it for people who want to discover a little more of Portugal.

Tatiana was such a great guide. She is not your run of the mill tour guide. She had historical information that gave context & texture to the place we were visiting. She went out of her way to bring us to the homes of the 3 children of Fatima when we requested. She also brought us to the most delicious seafood restaurant when we requested a seafood restaurant. Going to Nazare & Obidos was such a treat.

We took a private tour with Pedro from Picta travels. We had fun at the village of Obidos, and liked the tall beautiful waves at Nazare. Pedro took us to Alcobaca,Batalha and Fatima for a comparison. Ate lunch by the seaside at Nazare. Pedro customized our tour knowing that we were history buffs. Cannot thank him enough for making our Portugal trip a memorable one!
