We had an absolute blast with João! It was the most memorable day of our vacation. 10/10 would recommend!

This was probably my favorite experience of our entire honeymoon in Portugal, it was $180 for 2 people! We kayaked out into the ocean, snorkeled and saw an octopus, held starfish and crabs, and discovered so much other marine life. We also jumped off cliffs and explored caves, it was an unforgettable day! The atmosphere is gorgeous, and in my group there were only 6 people not counting ourselves. What made it even more special was João and Tomás. João was a wonderful host, and Tomás was a phenomenal guide who was so kind, generous, and attentive. From getting lunch set up to checking that you were okay after a belly flop into the ocean, he truly took care of everything! Their warmth and enthusiasm were just as memorable as the adventure itself. Even if you don’t usually consider yourself particularly active or adventurous, I would wholeheartedly recommend giving this experience a try. We had such a fantastic time and would do it again in a heartbeat. Thank you, João and Tomás, for giving us one of our favorite memories of Portugal!

It was a filled day of amazing adventure. I wish there was more time for the activities that we did but i'm glad i got to experience it. By the end of the day you'll definitely be tired so that's the only thing to be wary of

This is the best of the kajak and adventure tours I have gone on during our 2 years in Portugal. This company goes above and beyond to make it a special day, and showcasing the marine life and geological landscape of the coast. Both our hosts were engaging and we had so many different lovely and exciting moment on this full day. Even as we traveled back to hq, Joao had thought about taking us a more scenic route, so we could fully take in the breath of where we had kajaked, snorkled, jumped and cave climbed. We highly recommend, youngest guest was a fearless 6 year old girl and oldest myst have been myself, hitting 60. It was not too hard and still not too easey.

This was hands down one of the best experiences of my life. It’s a physical feat if you are not nature inclined but so worth the money, time, and energy! Joao and his tour partner, Tomas, were amazing. Fun guys with tons of knowledge of the area as they both live and grew up in the area. Snorkeling, kayaking, cave exploring, cliff diving and snacks! Everything is provided — wetsuits, water shoes, snorkels, and snacks! A bathing suit is required and I recommend bringing flip-flops or sandals.

It was a great experience! The staff were extremely attentive and always willing to help, doing everything possible to ensure we had a great experience. We felt safe and well cared for during all activities. I recommend it!

The activity was super fun. All the material was provided and it made the experience that much smoother. It started on the beach then we took the kayaks to a small little island near the beach to do some snorkeling. We got lucky and managed to see a lot of fish, including a big seabass. The coasteering, despite looking somewhat scary, was really fun too. And the staff did a wonderful job helping us out with everything, from the climbing and coasteering, snorkeling and diving, and providing some motivation when the tank ran low while rowing the kayak. Overall a very fun day, with a lot of activities to do and enjoy.

Absolutely incredible experience — a must-do in Portugal! This was easily one of the highlights of our trip! The whole day was packed with adventure, from kayaking and exploring the incredible caves to snorkelling and jumping into the crystal-clear water. The scenery around Arrábida was absolutely stunning, and there was something exciting to do throughout the day. The lunch was really good too — having a proper meal by the beach with such an amazing view was a fantastic part of the experience. Everything was so well organised, and you could tell a lot of thought had gone into making the day special. A huge shout-out to João, who was brilliant from start to finish. His knowledge was great, but the banter and humour made the day even better. It was obvious that João genuinely loves what he does, and he went above and beyond to make sure everyone was having an amazing time. I honestly think everyone should do this tour! If you’re visiting Lisbon and want something more memorable than just sightseeing, book this experience. Adventure, beautiful scenery, great food and a fantastic guide — we couldn’t have asked for a better day. 5 stars without a doubt!

INCREDIBLE! João and the Beyond Adventures team made the trip seamless (they had a wide array of wetsuit sizes, towel dresses, and lunch prepared according to dietary restrictions). I loved the combination of kayaking, adventuring, and snorkeling - I never thought I’d jump off a cliff into the Atlantic but there I was with João (and the rest of the group) cheering me on! Truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience and worth every cent!

João wasn't just an organizer! He was a very experienced friend hanging out at the sea with us. He took is to sea some caves, showed us fossils, kayaking, snorkeling and cliff jumping. Along with that, we got to try some home made wine! Totally an amazing and worth it experience.

Superb day out . A great mixture of snorkeling ( plenty of fish ) , kayaking and climbing with jumps into the sea . Thomas was amazing - never rushed and made sure we all enjoyed ourselves and were safe . Had great patience with me when I got stuck in the rocks . Snacks and lunch were plentiful and wetsuits were good quality An excellent , but exhausting day . Thanks

My partner and I had a fantastic time on this. It's not something I would normally do, so I was slightly apprehensive before. I pushed myself a bit to do the cliff jumps and was quite proud of managing it. I would definitely advise having a moderate level of fitness and be prepared to have a rest day afterwards. Our guide was fantastic. One note: they won't drop you back off at the pickup point. You can however ask for a lift to the train station and then it's a short train ride back into Lisbon. Overall, I thoroughly recommend this.

João and Thomas curate an amazingly engaging and fun experience to match a wide range of interest and abilities. It was a great day filled with stories, dad jokes, food, snacks, kayaking, snorkeling, cave exploring and general food hearted outdoor fun. So much so that our teen declared this as the “best day ever!”. I would highly reccomend them and we will most definitely be coming back to this if we ever travel to portugal again! An experience our family won’t forget! João was full of personality and passion for this beautiful national park. He shared lots of interesting information about the history, land and animals. Definitely plan on a rest day before and after this exciting all day adventure kayaking, climbing into the caves and up the rocks to jump as well as snorkeling! A truly wonderful experience - we had an absolute blast with our guide João, who kept us going all day long with his energy, enthusiasm, and (bad) jokes. Incredible landscapes (including underwater), great fun in the caves, in the kayak, and while cliff jumping, plus delicious, thoughtfully prepared food and drinks (some from their own vineyard) with something for everyone. Would absolutely recommend, truly worth the money!

Very active! We had so much fun with Joao, he is so enthusiastic and friendly. He showed us amazing cave spots and told us interesting stories that you would never learn about without the help of a true local. Joao was clearly extremely passionate and he went the extra mile with great food, drinks, and even impressive GoPro photos and videos of the entire experience.

Absolutely amazing! One of the best experiences I’ve ever had. It’s truly something everyone should try at least once in their life—although after doing it, you’ll probably want to come back again. My only advice is to keep the day before and especially the day after relatively free. It can be kinda tiring, so avoid packing too many physically demanding activities into your itinerary. That said, every bit of it is completely worth it. I couldn’t recommend it more!

Fantastic day, good laughs, good water and great fun. Informative, active and good energy. Great food after a good paddle. Also enjoyed swimming with the fishes and jumping off cliffs.

Wonderful experience with a high energy guide! We went into caves and jumped off cliffs and did activities that other Kayak groups going into the same region did not do. Highly reccommend!

This activity was one of the best experiences ever, hands down. It exceeded whatever expectations I have. João was very communicative and very accommodating. This guy just loves what he does and it shows. He got everything covered! Energy, Music, food, jokes, history, facts, fun, drinks…everything! I love the water and getting to do all the things we did: kayaking, snorkeling & coasteering, was more than what I would imagine but João does an amazing job making it all happen. The HQ was so organized and clean. Perfect place to get set up and go back to for a nice shower. I was BEYOND BEYOND BEYOND blown away by everything. Cannot recommend this enough for people to do!

João is an excellent human being. So lovely, me and my wife loved his jokes and how he goes the extra mile. He gave us literally one of the best days in our lives. It was the first time for my fiancé at the ocean and he made it so memorable. He prepared food for us, soup à la João style. We did cliff jumping, kayaking snorkelling all of it in one day and nothing fell short. We love João he does so much for and tries to gives his all. I can recommend Joao and his services. He’s an amazing human being one of my favourite Portuguese people. Thank you João for everything we love you and are so thankful for your dedication. You live your dream and we admire you for it. This was the absolute highlight of my trip to Lisbon! We went kayaking, explored caves, and snorkeled along the stunning coastline before passing through parts of Arrábida Park. The day included music, snacks, great food, and plenty of dad jokes :) João was an amazing guide—knowledgeable, energetic, and friendly. He made everyone feel like they were simply spending the day with friends. If you love the outdoors and being in nature, I highly recommend this experience.

Absolutely recommend! I already did this tour three years ago and had to come back again. João is such a nice and fun guide and directly creates a sense of friendship. He makes sure that you get a full day of adventure for a fair price, with all inclusive equipment, food & drinks, music and lots of activities packed into one adventurous trip. First time we were a group of 8 people, this time I was alone with João. He made sure both times that everybody feels safe, has fun and gets to experience their own unique adventure. With scenic views, good music, fun jokes and lots to discover, this is the best tour for anyone seeking a lifetime memory in Lisbon. About the tour: It starts and ends at the Beyond Adventure headquarters which you can easily reach with Uber/Bolt (25-30€ per trip from Lisbon) or with public transport: Take the Setúbal train from the city, Sete Rios station at the zoo is a good starting point and then take the bus from Penalva station. Theres a stop 4 Minutes by foot from the headquarters, each trip costs around 6€. João has all the equipment needed in different sizes (wetsuits, life vests, helmet, gloves and socks plus water shoes and also a pair of shorts to go over the wetsuit). He also provides showers, toilets and coffee at his headquarters, which is a big plus. The trip starts with a kayak ride along the coast in Arrábida national park, which is a paradise on its own. Then you proceed with cave exploring hidden in the coast line, climbing along the rocks and jumping into the water. After a quick snack pause you can go cliffjumping from different hights, a full adrenaline rush, but João makes you feel extra safe and courageous. End of the experience is snorkeling at a riff near the beach, where you can see lots of aquatic wildlife. Afterwards, there is lunch at the beach where João provides everthing needed, from towels to good food and cold wine from local or his family wineyards and grape juice slushy from his family. If you're in Lisbon and looking for a fun adventure, book this tour!

Our day with Joao was the absolute highlight of our 2 weeks in Portugal and Spain! He is the ultimate guide: funny, thoughtful, trustworthy, and so informative! The facilities and equipment are top quality; we felt totally prepared for our day of adventure on the water. From cliff jumping to exploring sea caves and snorkeling around an island, every moment of the experience was incredible. And the fabulous lunch he served on the beach was an extra special bonus! We had a wonderful time on this adventure. Jaoa was an excellent guide and host! We went sea kayaking, explored sea caves, had a snack on the rocks, saw a cave shrine, and went cliff diving. Also snorkeled around a small island and had lunch on the beach. Aftwerwards we went on a driving tour of the park learning about the trees, plants, and geography from Jaoa. We had a blast! I highly recommend this adventure!

Great experience. Very well organized day. From equipment to food to transportation it felt like everything was taken care of and the day made easy. Joao is not simply passionate about rock climbing or cave exploring, or kayaking, snorkeling or jumping off scenic cliffs into the waiting arms of a serene blue sea, but truly he is passionate about you! Excursions may take you to one place or another, but when you are with Joao you are already there! And you will know you have a new old friend in Lisbon!

Joan was the best host you could have. Picking you up and bringing the energy right away. While playing great music he explained the historic landscape the whole trip. He took you to get all necessary equipment properly fitted and made everyone feel very at home and comfortable. During the excursion part he was a party on a kayak making a long trip feel like seconds. He lead us through amazing caves knowing the historic part of all of it including showing the best spots to cliff jump into the water. We then snorkelled around an island where he was quick to point out all the cool marine life. Not to mention he brought plenty of snacks and one of the best lunches ive had on this vacation. We then drove back on a scenic route through the entire mountain range stopping for pictures in the best spot before promptly dropping us off in a pre determined location that fit our schedule perfect. 100% recommend this is an absolute must to do on your trip to portugal it is worth way more than the cost. Not to mention he video’d the whole day giving us an album of pictures and videos that will last forever

This tour went above and beyond what I was expecting it to be and our guide João was great and super knowledgeable. We kayaked, explored caves, snorkeled, cliff jumped (totally optional) and had a great lunch on the beach. This was really a full day experience and super cool to see an area of Portugal I likely would not have gotten to see on my own. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a bit of adventure in Portugal. João is a really cool dude and cracks a lot of dad jokes but he clearly loves his job and wants everyone to have a great time.

I’ve travelled on many tours globally and this one, with Joao, was by far the most personalized and fun of all of them. His energy was contagious and the trip was well planned from pick up to drop off. He was even able to get my wife to jump (safely) off a rocky cliff. You're in for a ride of history, comedy show, and adventure! João really takes care of you on this tour and you can really see his passion for his work and community. The entire experience begins with clear communication from pick up (shout out to Pedro!) and doesn't end after the tour is over either - we get sent photos taken AND the playlist! I had an absolute blast with Joao and Pedro! Joao had a ton of energy despite having a full family and three daughters who keep him busy. The amount of time and effort he puts into this excursion for us is absolutely noticeable. He ensures everyone gets their moneys worth, learns about the beautiful places he takes you, gives you options or what to do, provides endless facts and history, welcomes you into his home (where you meet his furry friends Simba and Nala). The beaches and caves were stunning, and although I am not a kayaker this trip was not too arduous for the novice. The food was great, company was warm, and overall 10 out of 5 stars.
