Visiting Lisbon and we only had one day to travel to Porto. Booked this excursion thru Viator. The guide was punctual, very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Nuno was the best. He knew so much and we felt well cared with him. The car was very comfortable and clean for a 3+ hour drive each way. Porto is a must if traveling to Portugal. So beautiful and lively. We highly recommend this tour if you only have 1 day to visit Porto.

Our guide, Nuno, was very knowledgeable & friendly. He gave a good tour & the 3 hour ride each way (we were Lisbon based) was very comfortable. We saw some amazing things & had a lovely lunch. However, I think my expectations were not aligned with what we did. I thought we would see more or the Douro & taste wines other than Port. The boat ride under the bridges was nice, but somewhat perfunctory.

What an amazing day in Porto! We took a private car from Lisbon to Porto, and back again. About a 12 hour fabulous day! Nuno, our guide was fabulous—he was friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. We can’t recommend this tour enough. I would book Nuno again in a heartbeat, he was the best!!! For one day, we experienced so much that Porto has to offer, plus we had a great lunch in Porto, a restaurant recommended by our guide. I highly recommend this tour, especially if you only have one day to spend in Porto. The famous (Harry Potter) bookstore, sightseeing, architecture, churches, river boat tour, Port tasting…we did so much! We loved it!

Nuno is the man! He provided us with a wonderful trip to Porto. On the way, he would explain much of the history of Portugal and the significance of much of the architecture along the way. He kept us focused during the trip so we didn’t spend too much time in one area, allowing us to see more of Porto. His recommendations were great. Nuno is all around awesome, and he made our trip very memorable

We had a PHENOMENAL experience with Nuno from Vango Tourism. This was the one day on our trip to Portugal that I felt like I could fully relax because we were in such good hands. This company has the Porto day trip down to a science, and with a ton of flexibility. We started at the top of Porto and only ever had to walk down hill. Our guide trekked back up to get the van while we ate lunch. I brought my parents (late 60s) and Nuno was super patient (and even encouraging) with the slower pace and the picture breaks. We stayed in Lisbon, so we had 3 hours in the car each way, and Nuno shared a ton of history and recommendations for the rest of our stay in Lisbon. We also got to nap and rest :) I considered doing a DIY day trip from Lisbon via train, but I'm so glad we went with the private tour instead. It was worth it!

With an early departure to Porto, Nuno was punctual (as always) amazing us with his high level of energy after a three-hour drive from Lisbon. With a lively step, he led us through the city explaining the vast differences between the capital of the north and what we learned about Lisbon. We were thrilled that Van Go Tourism offered this as an optional tour. And Nuno had the van ready for the long drive back to Lisbon by tilting our seats back in advance for a bit of a nap after the Port wine tasting. How did he know?! Susanna was absolutely wonderful! She kindly accommodated us coming from Cascais by train and picked us up in Algés to start our day. We began with a quick stop for coffee, pastries, and a restroom break before heading north, where Susanna shared fascinating insights into Portuguese history—she truly knows her stuff, and it made the drive fly by. Once in Porto, she dropped us in town while she parked and later met back up for a walking tour. She even graciously loaned us euros when a shop didn’t take cards so we could pick up souvenirs. We visited two beautiful churches, strolled through the famous train station, and explored the city—all with Susanna sharing the rich history of each place. It was such a bonus to skip the lines with her local expertise! Lunch was relaxed and perfectly timed across from the boat tour, and afterwards we enjoyed a gorgeous ride along the river. Susanna then escorted us to a winery, where we did the tasting and tour while she retrieved the van, making the whole day seamless and stress-free. The day truly flew by—it was the perfect balance of history, sightseeing, and fun. If we could give Susanna 100 stars, we would! This tour is not only recommended but essential if you want to make the most of your time in Porto. Cannot recommend enough!

We could not have asked for a more perfect day with Nuno (Van GO tourism). The three-hour trip from Lisbon to Porto was a pleasure. Nuno answered all of our questions, no matter how trivial. It is a three hour car ride each way, but it is worth it! Our guide, John (Jao), is extremely knowledgeable, personable, and informative. He did a super job helping us understand everything from lots of details about Porto to broader aspects of Portugal. We highly recommend this tour, especially with John.

We were a party of three couples and this was a great experience. Miguel, our guide, was awesome! On the drive to Porto, he gave a little history lesson on Portugal as a whole but we also talked about other things. The conversation really made the drive up really enjoyable. Once in Porto, the tour of the city and the sites highlighted were interesting. Although the city was crowded with tourist, Miguel was still able to navigate us very well through it all and we never felt rushed. The boat cruise was pleasant and seeing the city from the river was very picturesque. Lastly, the wine tour/tasting at the end was informative and fun. The wine took effect on the ride back to Lisbon, so we weren't much for company and Miguel just let us relax/sleep. I would highly recommend this tour and if you get Miguel, you're in very good hands.

Our trip to Porto was truly memorable, in large measure to the knowledge, kindness and good cheer of our guide, Nuno Moura. Though it was a long ride to and from Porto, Nuno's knowledge of Porto, its history and the many interesting stories of how it came to be what it is today made the day fly by and left us with great memories that we will always cherish. Porto is well worth seeing if you have the chance, and Nuno is the man you want to show you the city and all its glory!

We had the best time touring Porto with Nuno.He picked us up at our hotel and we had have a nice 3-hour drive to Porto. First stop was a beautiful cafe for coffee and then we walked all around the city. Not only is Nuno a great guide, he’s also a great photographer & was very helpful throughout the day. We enjoyed a quick lunch & then had a lovely boat ride on the Duoro. From there toured the wine cave & learned about Port making. Final stop was the most beautiful bookstore in the world. 10/10 Highly Recommend!

My family and I were so glad we experienced the private tour to Porto, dispute our initial feelings about the long ride to and from Lisbon. There was a fire along the route from Lisbon to Porto. Our driver, Joan, explained the situation and the company was monitoring the situation. Based on the best information we went on the trip. The drive was uneventful. Porto is beautiful and we greatly appreciated Joan’s knowledge of the city and its history.. I would highly recommend him for this trip.

The morning went by quickly. Simone was a wonderful tour guide and very easy to talk with, thus the time went by. Once we arrived in Porto, she took full control and did everything she could to make things comfortable for us. She was very knowledgeable about all of Porto. The port tasting was very good.
