Caio was an amazing guide and gave us a great background into the history and manufacturing to port wine. He was also a great host. Highly recommended. 6 distinct pours and snacks.

Caio was a wonderful expert of different varieties of Port. He was an excellent teacher and provided an explanation sheet complete with maps and a cocktail recipe. The wine bar was delightful, though difficult to find.

Its a small bar slightly off the beaten track. I think they specialise in these tasting sessions. The Port tasting is good and we learned a bit about the different types of port. But the whole.process seems a little rushed.

Great tasting event. The host was informative and friendly, just the right combination of facts and chat. Lots of time to savour the flavours and the occasional top-up to compare one with another. Small salty and sweet nibbles were provided. It’s a small venue, a bit out of the way, so get there on time as it only lasts an hour and there will be another tasting starting the following hour.

This was a great way to learn about port. Not only did we taste 6 ports, we asked loads of questions and got answers.

A well polished and well thought out presentation. Great set-up, and an interesting talk. Not a huge amount of details, but enough to enhance your knowledge from a low base. 6 interesting and contrasted Ports to try, distinct and distinguishable characters to trace from one to the next. Knowledgeable and clear commentary in good English. Snacks were generous and were good accompaniments to the drinks. Started bang on time. Lasted under 45mins.

From arrival the experience at From The Vine was such a treat. We had a warm welcome by Caio who from beginning to end set the stage for a memorable experience. Caio was very knowledge about Port and provided facts in a manner that succinct and practical for us to know. The quality of the Ports that we tasted were simply delicious. We also enjoyed getting to know the other guests at the tasting. Caio helped create an environment that made all of the guest feel comfortable engaging with each other! We highly recommend this experience on your next travel to Lisbon!

More digging at the wine culture in Portugal. This time, fortified wines (ports) from the Douro Valley (PENSO DA RÉGUA).

This was a fantastic way to learn about and try numerous local ports. It was laid back and we really enjoyed our evening.

Great relax environment with immediate good vibe with the remaining experience participants. The wines were extremely well presented, and experience was not only fun but also educational.

The Port Wine Tasting is a must-do experience in Lisbon for me. The tasting is well structured, I did not feel rushed at all, and snacks are provided during the breaks. All necessary and extra information is provided, making a very enjoyable experience.

First of all, the establishment was difficult to find as signage was obscured by trees and cars parked in front. Host seemed distracted and indifferent as if this tasting was an obligation. We pointed out that the other couple who appeared to be looking for the place may have been lost; he said "they'll figure it out" and then told them they'd have to catch up because they were late. Host took "breaks" between tastings and left, no interactions other than brief explanations about the products. The tasting was supposed to be an hour; we finished in 30 minutes. Stale corn nuts and some olives as snacks. All in all, this was a process, not the enjoyable learning experience we had hoped it would be.

Great port tasting. Host was very enthusiastic and know,edge le about the products. Had a chance to try five different ports and a Muscatel. We all enjoyed it , nice tasting before dinner!

Our “host” (if you can even call him that) was incredibly rude from the start. I tried being polite multiple times, but he was just mean and dismissive in return. It completely ruined the atmosphere. The port wine might have been fine, but it’s hard to enjoy anything when the person hosting makes you feel unwelcome. Would not recommend this place to anyone — there are plenty of better and friendlier tastings elsewhere.

You know....I wouldn't go here again. It is our first visit to Portugal and thought a Port Wine tasting was in order. The spot, 'From the Vine, Wine Tasting Bar' is cute. We were one of two couples at the tasting. My main criticism would be that I didn't walk out from the event with a whole lot more knowledge about Port Wine that I went in with. The fellow orchestrating the tasting was very friendly and nice but the main thing he wasn't was...engaging. It almost felt like he was robotically repeating something he's had to do a million times. We were given six different ports and he would describe two of them, kind of, sort of, and then excuse himself while we finished them up and partook of the 'snacks' which were three items, four slices of cheese, dry bread toasts and corn nuts. The experience on 'Trip Advisor' was described as a journey. This wasn't a journey. It was a sprint. Would not recommend this experience. Good background music though.

Amazing place, wonderful vibe, fantastic tasting, really attentive staff who described every single port to the smallest detail. If you’re passing through Lisbon it’s definitely worth an hour of your time. Definitely recommend 5*

Caio is the man! His extensive knowledge about the different types of port wine made it a very enjoyable experience. Not to mention the wine was delicious! Great quick tour to get a better understanding of Portuguese culture!

It was good, the only thing is I thought we were booking as part of a group event. Just so you know, whoever ur booking w that’s it.

This was such a fun, informative experience. The host was very knowledgeable and I learned so much. The space was very warm and intimate. It felt like hanging out with a friend; that happens to know a lot about wine and enjoying a sampling of port along with interesting facts and history of port wine specifically, but also Portuguese wine in general. 5⭐️

We had a great time tasting port wine and learning about the different kinds and the way to make it. But most of all it was fun!
