⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely Fantastic Private Tour of Sintra, Cabo da Roca & Cascais! We had this incredible private tour on 4 October 2026, This was without a doubt the highlight of our trip to Lisbon. From the moment our guide, Sandra, picked us up from our hotel, we knew we were in for a special day. Sandra was absolutely awesome! She was fun, cheeky, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable. Her passion for Portugal, its history, and the local culture really brought every stop to life. She shared fascinating stories and insights throughout the day, making the experience both entertaining and educational. The tour was perfectly organized, with an early visit to the stunning Pena Palace before the crowds arrived. Sandra's knowledge of the palace and its history made the visit so much more meaningful. We then enjoyed exploring the beautiful streets of Sintra, sampling local pastries, and taking in the charming atmosphere of this UNESCO-listed town. The stops at Cabo da Roca and Cascais were equally spectacular, offering breathtaking coastal views and a chance to experience some of Portugal's most beautiful scenery. A special mention also goes to the comfort of the tour itself. The vehicle was extremely comfortable, making the travel between destinations relaxing and enjoyable. Complimentary water was provided, which was a thoughtful touch and very much appreciated throughout the day. Sandra's warm personality, great sense of humour, and genuine enthusiasm made this experience unforgettable. We felt more like we were touring with a friend than a guide. Fantastic tour with Luis! 10/10. He was a great guide, very knowledgeable and a great driver as well. He met us right on time for our tour to Sintra to the Pena Palace, Quinta da Regaleira and Cascais, provided us interesting insights at all the sights. Best decision made by booking No Maps Tours for a private Sintra day trip! Sandra was amazing. Her knowledge and insights were invaluable and added so much context to Pena Palace, Regaleira, and Cais Cais. We would’ve been ESPECIALLY lost given the road, gate closures, and difficulty parking. We saw many others confused and frustrated. I’d also advise to get the skip the line and be there at opening (should be called “skip the crowd” and be out front). Like a Disney Fastpass IYKYK. Would highly recommend. Btw the car was comfy, with WiFi and water! Well worth it.

We heard a lot of hype about Sintra, but it did not disappoint! Luis was fabulous - so fun and knowledgeable. Every minute was well thought out to make the most of our time and give us a variety of experiences. Highly recommend!

My group of five were very happy with our tour guide Sandra. She showed up promptly and the vehicle was spotless. She had extra water for everyone in case we got thirsty. Sandra was a wealth of knowledge and thoroughly explained everything we saw. We had plenty of time at each stop. We really enjoyed this day trip to Sintra. The skip-the-line tickets are a must. Our guide, Sandra, was extremely knowledgeable. Aside from the amazing history of these properties, she provided water, rain jackets, restaurant recommendations and local knowledge. We had in-depth tours of the Pena Palace and Regaleira, as well as time on our own to explore Sintra and Cascais. We would have loved to have seen some of the other palaces/landmarks but there isn't enough time in one day!

We had a fantastic day with Luis visiting Sintra. He was polite, knowledgeable, and interesting. The day went by quickly and we got to see so much more because he knew the area and managed all the details of tickets and driving and parking. We can’t say enough about Sandra: she had a wonderful sense of humor which she wove into her vast knowledge. She was efficient and accommodating allowing us to make some choices that best suited our family. She was a great driver as well- safely navigating us through an unexpected traffic jam as a result of street closures. She kept the tour moving and it was a pleasure to spend the day with her.

Our group of five friends/family (ages 65-71) were treated to a wonderful tour of Sintra by Sandra (tour guide of the highest quality!!). A second fabulous day with Sandra! Given the crowds that flock to Sintra, having an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and organized guide was invaluable. All of our questions were answered well in advance of our travels, and a custom itinerary allowed us to fit in all that we were interested in. Our action packed day took us to the Pena Palace, Sintra town, Regaleira and the Castle of the Moors. Rather than simply "seeing", we listened and learned more than we could have on our own. We chose this tour because we wanted both Regaleira and Pena and this tour did not disappoint. Luis our guide was excellent! Prompt, courteous, had a beautiful vehicle and provided ice cold water for us several times on the hot day we went to Sintra. He was very informative with both facts and stories about what we saw and we very much enjoyed him as our guide. Both Pena Palace and Regaleira are not to be missed when in Sintra.

We’re so happy we spent the money on this private, all day tour. Our driver and personal tour guide, Luis Oliveira was punctual arriving at 8 in a Mercedes-Benz station wagon and very knowledgeable of all the places he took us to. The Pena castle is a work of art and the Quinta of Regaleira, the grounds and the well were beautiful. Both very different and unique in their styles but well worth the trip. Luis had our entrance tickets for the first slot and we didn’t have to wait on line as many have reported. Luck was on our side with the weather, not too hot or cold, just right. A bit of caution both require walking a lot, up and down stairs, walkways, and cobblestone walkways. Best to be very mobile. We then went to the coast town of Cascais. A very pretty beachside town with many restaurants and shops and of course the beach. We enjoyed every moment! Thanks to Luis who was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. You could tell he enjoys his job!

We had the best day with Sandra! We spent a wonderful 8 hours together, she was a wonderful guide. We were so comfortable and felt like special guests. She shared the wonderful history of Peña Palace and Regaleira, and Portugal in general, with energy, passion and great expression. My husband and I took a tour the day before with a different company. That one was with 6 other travelers. We felt rushed and didn't really get a lot of details about the places we visited. Our guide did not accompany us inside the places we went to and he was basically just a driver. He gave us very little time in Fatima and being Catholics, we were really very disappointed. But NOT with No Maps! We had Sandra as our private tour guide. She wasn't watching the clock - she allowed us as much time as we needed. She accompanied us pretty much everywhere and pointed out interesting facts about Sintra. Sintra is a beautiful, must see place. We were incredibly lucky not to have encountered a huge crowd in any of the places we visited. But that had a lot to do with our guide. She timed where we should be according to her local knowledge of when the mass of humanity would be showing up, for instance, in Pena Palace. Hire No Maps and go to Sintra!

Our tour guide, Luis, was fantastic! This is a very private tour, it was only my husband and myself plus the driver, Luis. Unfortunately, we picked a rainy day to visit Sintra , but Luis made it so enjoyable. From taking the shortcut to avoid traffic to get to the Pena Palace on time, to making adjustments in the tour so that we could see what we really wanted to see, to making sure we got to the best pastry shop to try the world, famous puff pastries of Sintra - he was very accommodating. Very knowledgeable, and a fantastic personality. We learned so much about Portugal from him. if you can, request Luis as your tour guide for this excursion!

Our tour guide, Sandra was very knowledgeable about the history of Portugal and she kept us entertained with all her inside expertise when we visited Peña Palace and Sintra. She had a headset and gave us all receivers so that she dispense all her knowledge when we were in the palace which was very crowded. We really appreciated that because it made the tour much more enjoyable. She also made great recommendations on places to eat and shop. We would definitely recommend No Map Tours and Sandra as your guide.

This was a great way to have a private tour. It was just my wife and myself with our guide luis. We were picked up at our hotel and went straight to Sintra. All along the way luis provided history and little known facts about our destination. We got there as they opened and were in the first group that went into Pena Palace. Luis giuded us through the palace with the history and details about the construction. We stopped for plenty of pictures and felt we saw everything in about an hour. We then stopped for a local pastery and drink before we went to Regaleira. Our guides knowledge of the property allowed us to see some of the best locations without getting lost in this expansive property. Afterwards we went to Cascais for a late lunch. Luis provided multiple resturants based on our prefrence and the meal we had was great. We finally drove back to the hotel taking a scenic coastal route. It was a great way to see Sintra without being in a larger group. Well worth it.

Luis was absolutely wonderful! My husband and I wouldn’t have been able to see half the sites in Sintra and Regaleira. He timed everything perfectly and knew how to avoid the crowds. We entered Peña Palace with only two people ahead of us. We were never rushed and he recommended wonderful snack and lunch places. Definitely a must do!

This was a comfortable, informative, perfect trip. The best part was Luis our guide. Extremely friendly , knowledgeable and just fun to be with. You felt you just found a new best friend. Sintra and the two places we went were extremely interesting w/ lots of photo opps and adventure. Do not miss Pena palace! And the Quinta da Regaleira is a MUST DO. but I think you have to have Luis to make it perfect. This company had its ducks in a row. I have been using a few on this trip No Maps Tour is far superior.

We went on a day trip to Sintra with our private guide Sandra. She picked us up in (and brought us back to) the hotel which was very convenient. The first tour was in The Pena Palace. Sandra had a brilliant way of telling historic facts, mixed with stories and humourous details. We had plenty of time to take photos and stop wherever we wanted to look around. At 10.30 h. we had a coffee with Travesseiros in the famous Piqirita café, delicious! After that we went to The Quinta da Regaleira. This breathtaking gardens and buildings were unforgettable!!! At the end of the tour we had lunch at Tascantiga, also a lovely restaurant with friendly staff. We had an absolute unforgettable day in Sintra Thanks to Sandra. If we ever come back to Lisbon (which we definitely want to!) we will ask for Sandra to guide us in another tour. Thank you a lot Sandra!!

Took the private day tour to Peña Palace and Regaleira with time in Sintra. Our high expectations were exceeded! All places were wonderful to visit with a rich history but our tour guide is what made the day extra special! Sandra was knowledgeable, passionate and entertaining. We visited The Peña Castle, Sintra Old town and Quinta da Regaleira. These places by them self are spectacular. However, our tour guide Sandra made everything just perfect. Look at this palace and you won't be mistaken for thinking it's out of the fairy tale. It was built by the Portuguese king, who lived there with his family. The palace is visible from any part of Lisbon on a clear day. In November 1755, a devastating earthquake struck Lisbon. The monastery suffered several damages and its inhabitants abandoned it. The chapel was not completely destroyed by the earthquake, it remained abandoned for almost a century. The state took possession of the ruins in 1834 after the suppression of religious orders in Portugal. A private owner bought the land from the government in 1838. A monument was built to mark the city's reconstruction. The monument is called Arca Rua Augusta.
