Our tour Expedia’s was amazing. So nice to have a private tour and not deal with driving , trying to manage crowds, and the local knowledge shared. Rui was an excellent guide. If you can afford the price , the only way to go. Thank you Rui for a great tour.
Rui is a warm, friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. He took us to all the sights and gave us some time to wander on our own. I highly recommend!
Rui is absolutely amazing! The start of our trip was delayed by 2 hours due to the long process of getting through passport control at the airport. But, Rui waited for us and nothing was any trouble for him. He is extremely knowledgeable about the areas we visited. We never felt rushed at any place and there was enough time to take in the amazing sights. The Mercedes van was modern clean and really comfortable. Don’t use anyone else. Go with Rui and Olive Premium Tours!
This is one of the best tours we’ve ever taken. Rui was knowledgeable on the history of Lisbon and all the sites leading to and from Sintra. He got us early tickets to the Palacio Nacional de Pena and knew which spots would get crowded later. He was not intrusive and stepped in to tell us things we needed to know, but let us explore on our own also. Can’t recommend enough!
Rui was excellent. He was knowledgeable, professional, and patient. He seemed genuinely interested in the places we toured and was a great driver!
This was a great day—enjoyed it very much! Highly recommend!
In spite of the rainy weather we had a fabulous day. Rui shared so much information on the history of Peña Palace, the Sintra community, and city of Caiscais. Best part vas visiting the westernmost point of Europe. Comfortable transportation an d he was very considerate of our physical limitations due to bad knees and foot.
Day trip in a rainy day, however Rui turn that day in one of memorable day we spend in Lisboa. Very well organize, we learn só Much about Portugal história. Will do ir again . Thanks for all .
The only way to see Sintra and the surrounding area! We spent a lovely day with Rui. His knowledge of the palace enhanced our experience so much! And it was so nice not to worry about transportation logistics or parking or tickets. It made the day much more relaxing and enjoyable than it otherwise would have been. Just book the tour and say hello to Rui for us!
Honestly, a private tour is the only way to experience Sintra and the surrounding area! No train, bus, parking logistics or tickets to figure out and navigate and no time wasted! We had such a lovely day with Rui, first experiencing Pena Palace before the crowds. His knowledge of the palace and its history enhanced our visit. We enjoyed free time in Sintra and Cascais as well as a beautiful drive through the Parque Natural de Sintra-Cascais Cabo da Roca and Praia do Guincho were great stops as well, even on an overcast day. You will not be disappointed. Just book the tour and say Hello to Rui for us!
Great day we have on Sintra and Pena Palace with Rui. Day was perfect sunny and the landscape is amazing. We love Cascais also We can ask for more. Realy 5 star. Thank you so much Rui. Best
The Pena Palace is breathtaking. Cabo da Roca and Cascais were beautiful coastal stops. Done it was a Saturday, everything was very crowded. We enjoyed having time in Cascais to wander and pick a restaurant for lunch. Rui is a great guide!
We saw the highlights of select destinations, travelled in luxury at our own pace, and had free time.
Rui was charming in his overall ability to provide a personal tour through historical sights and adventures in Sintra village and Castle and Quinta da Regaleira, Cabo da Rocha and Cascais beach community, along the Portugal Riviera. We were able to absorb our tour without the typical large crowd and ask him questions from his perspective as a Portuguese national citizen. Amazing!
We had a great time! Our was knowledgeable and offered insight. The views were amazing. We were able to beat the crowds.:)
Based upon a very strong recommendation, we booked our tour to Sintra and Cascais with Rui. He was a great communicator and picked us up at our hotel right on time. From the moment we got in his car, we felt he was knowledgeable, personable and helpful. We learned so much from him about all the places we visited and about Portugal overall. He took us to a delicious coffee shop in Sintra as well as Cabo da Roca, which we loved. I can’t wait to refer Rui to our friends and family!
Rui was a great guide, loved the private tour. He knew all the ins and outs of the palace, and was flexible with us in Cascais and Sintra when we shopped a little too long! Visiting the westernmost point in Europe was a windy highlight! Rui helped with our photographs and was super easy to work with. He is very knowledgeable, he could answer all our questions about the history and even current events in Portugal! Thank you Rui!
Wonderful day. Truly a bit of everything. Peña Palace is gorgeous and mystical in the morning with a bit of fog. Lots of walking uphill but worth it. The western most point of Europe is windy but an incredible site. The beach resort of Cascais was charming. Wonderful day
Thank you to our fabulous tour guide, Rui. We thoroughly enjoyed our time touring Pena Palace and other special Portugal venues from beaches to castles. His vast knowledge made our day incredibly interesting and lots of fun.
Oliver was an outstanding guide! His knowledge of the area was incredible and he wss so kind. He was very flexible with our day/ tours and knew the best spots for views and photos. Highly recommend!
Fantastic tour of places we otherwise wouldn't be able to see in just over half a day so a very well planned route! The lunch spot in Cascais was fantastic for fresh seafood and this was a great journey.
During our stay in Lisbon we booked a trip to Sintra and Pena Palace. This company only has 5 stars reviews and i can figure why? No words to explain how beautifuland pleasent our day was.Rui is very kind, professional and very knowledgeable. He knows a lot of all thid places. Our lunch in Cascais was superb. The lanscape was speechless. We highly recommend this company.
Very nice day with Rui. We learn a lot about Pena Palace and Portugal. Cabo da Roca is amazing place. Cascais the portuguese riviera, Will do it again ! Thank you so much Rui. Happy Christmas
We book 2 Tours with Oliver .Pena Palace and Lisbon half day trip. No words to tell our pleasant our days were. He knows a lot of history of the Palace and from Lisbon . We had a terrific day both in Lisbon and Pena Palace. I only can say Thank You so Much !!
We had a great tour today visiting Pena Palace, Cabo de Roco & Cascais. Our guide Oliver provided informative and personalised tour. A great out and we would highly recommend.
My family had a wonderful day on our tour with Oliver. My mother and I use canes or walkers and Oliver was very accommodating. He tailored the trip to our walking abilities and we never felt rushed. He structured our day so that we avoided the crowds at the beautiful Pena Palace. We had a lovely lunch at the marina in Cascais where Oliver helped us pick a restaurant and guided us through the menu. I highly recommend Olive Premium Tours.
Rui is the best! My wife and I signed up for Rui’s Pena Palace tour because we liked his schedule for the day better than other tours. We were delighted to encounter not just a great tour guide but someone who became a friend. Rui struck the perfect balance of providing helpful information and direction while giving us the space to take in the sights and form our own memories. He knew how to avoid the crowds, pointed out the best views and told great (but not too many!) stories. After our Pena Palace tour we cancelled two sightseeing transfers we’d scheduled with other tour groups (from Lisbon to the Algarve and back) and booked with Rui instead. He tailored the trips to meet our needs, infused with his guidance about what he thought we and our three daughters (who joined us for the second of two weeks in Portugal) would most enjoy. We also added a second Pena Palace tour with Rui so our daughters could experience the sensational architecture, charm and views of Pena Palace (and Sintra, Cabo da Roca and Cascais)! We loved Portugal so much we'll be going back. And when we do, we'll be calling on Rui. Moments after Rui dropped us off for the last time, we all reflected about how we were going to miss Rui, and our daughters insisted I immediately let him know he was already missed. Schedule Pena Palace with Rui and you won't regret it!
Oliver picked us up at the port and away we went up to Pena Palace and the other sites on the tour. The tour was perfect and Oliver was very knowledgeable about the area and everything we saw.
My family of 7 (ages 5 to 55) thoroughly enjoyed our tour. Oliver met us outside our cruise ship terminal and led us to a clean and spacious vehicle. He talked about sites we passed by as we made our way to Pena Palace. At the palace he let us out at the entrance, went a distance down the mountain and returned to us on foot. We were a few minutes early for our entry so he began our tour just outside of the gate. We are from the deep south, an area below sea level in the States, so breathing during the walk up the cobblestone mountain proved a little difficult. He took us to a small rest area halfway up to catch our breath before continuing. Once at the palace, he continued to teach us many interesting facts about the construction and the royal families that frequented there. He led us to many places in the palace that we may not have seen or known to enter on our own. Oliver was very patient and answered all of our questions. After leaving the palace he took us to Cabo da Roca in Sintra. The cliffs, coastline and monument there were beautiful and he led us to a safe area to take scenic photos. Afterwards, he took us to an area in Cascais that was lined with restaurants to give us time for a wonderful lunch. We returned to our cruise ship with plenty of time to spare before final boarding. If we ever return to Portugal we will definitely be booking another tour with Oliver.
Oliver was a kind, conscientious host (and a great driver). He knew absolutely the best time to tour the palace, places to park, and beautiful views to see! We would do another tour with him in a heartbeat!
The tour was phenomenal, and Oliver was a great guide! While most people stuck around central Lisbon, especially due to the time constraints of the cruise, Oliver managed to plan a spectacular day taking us to various outskirts of the city where we saw a magnificent palace, beautiful views, and even had time for a quick but delicious lunch in a popular cafe. He was very knowledgeable and personable, making for very good company throughout the entire day. It's clear he does this for the love of the game, separating him from many of the other tour guide options. Would highly recommend!
Very well planned while relaxed day and Oliver was a great guide with all the knowledge and very friendly. We were able to see all the places mentioned plus several more stops along tge coast.
My family and I went on a private tour of Sintra/Cascais with Oliver and had the best time! He was accommodating (we have 2 young children - 2.5 years old and 6 months old); prepared (it rained during our tour and he had umbrellas for us); knowledgeable (offering the perfect amount of information/history throughout the day) and friendly. Peña palace was amazing! Highly recommend!
Oliver was warm, accommodating and flexible as we were traveling in Portugal with our 8.5 month old baby. Sintra was beautiful, along with Cabo da Roca and Cascais where we stopped for lunch. Highly recommend this private tour!
Oliver was an amazing driver/guide to Pena Palace, Sintra, and Cascais! It was a beautiful day that was filled with history and the gorgeous scenery of Portugal. He was on time at our meeting point, we were comfortable in his Mercedes and he drove with ease. I highly recommend his company and this all day tour!
We are experienced travelers and have taken many tours in various places. There is a reason why Rui has only five star reviews. He is simply the best guide we have ever experienced. Rui and his son work alone and have a personal stake in keeping their standards at the highest level. He is prompt, courteous and knowledgable. All tours are private for singles, couples or very small groups. My wife and I recently spent three days with Rui and he made our visit to Lisbon an extremely pleasurable event that we will always cherish. Do not look elsewhere for a guide when visiting Lisbon. You will not be disappointed. John & Debbie
Oliver was fantastic! He picked us up right at 8a from our hotel. We headed to Pena Palace and we got there right as the grounds were opening and then took the bus up to the castle. He gave great info throughout the castle and then we headed for the city center for a coffee/hot chocolate/snack break before heading out to Cabo Da Rock, the western most point of mainland Europe. Lastly we stopped in Cascais where we were given plenty of time to roam and find a spot for lunch. It was a great day.
We booked this tour as it included the entrance tickets into the Palace, which is such an advantage to not having to worry about purchasing the Palace tickets the day of. Oliver was punctual picking us up from our hotel in the city, very friendly, professional and extremely knowledgeable about the history of Portugal. He gave us relevant information on the drive into Sintra from the city and once at the palace, he guided us through it at a good pace. The few stops along the coast had breathtaking views and we also had time in Cascais to walk around the charming seaside. Oliver was very kind to stop at Belem on our way back to the hotel. Our teenage kids enjoyed the tour very much and stated that it was one of their highlights in Lisbon. We would not hesitate doing another private tour with Oliver at other sites next time we are back in Portugal.
Oliver was a phenomenal guide! He was knowledgeable, professional and an excellent time manager. We had a spectacular day. Oliver picked us at the port for our private tour. We first went to the Pena Palace where we were one of the first 15 people to enter the palace that day (entrance ticket included). Oliver explained things we saw and lead us on an informative tour. Next we headed to the village of Sintra where we were allowed to stroll the streets independently and see the Sintra Palace (and eat Pasteis De Nata!). After our visit we headed to the most western point in Portugal (and continental Europe) at Cabo De Roca. Wonderful views of the lighthouse and the coastline. Next Oliver took us to the ocean resort city of Cascais. A beautiful city with plenty of shopping & restaurants. Here we had sufficient time for lunch and to wander at a leisurely pace. Oliver picked us right on time at a convenient spot and took us to Belem to see the the Navigators Monument before dropping us off at Commerce Square at our request. Throughout the day Oliver was a wealth of information. A safe driver who dropped us off at convenient locations and gave us adequate time at each stop. An outstanding tour and excellent value. We highly recommend this tour. A great itinerary and excellent guide!

We did two full day tours with Olive Premium Tours (Sintra/ Cascais/Peña Palace and Obidos/Nazare/ Fátima). Both exceeded our expectations. Our guide Oliver was friendly, very knowledgeable and his English was excellent. The tour was well paced and while we never felt rushed, he also made sure we got to places before the tour buses and tour vans arrived. He was also a very good driver and his vehicle, a Mercedes van, was clean, in excellent condition and was very comfortable for the four of us. I highly recommend Olive Premium Tours.
Another experience with this company. Exceeded ours expectations. We learn a lot of history of Portugal and times of the monarchy. The landscapes are amazing like Cabo da Roca. Thank you so much
