Beatriz was a wonderful, educated and a lovely guide. Best food of our whole trip. She was so kind, and taught us so much about Lisbon and Portugal. Would recommend to anybody!

This tour was the highlight of our stay in lisbon! Diogo was the perfect host and a perfect gentleman! Not only did we get a stellar food tour, we got culture, history, architecture, personal stories and so much more! What a WONDERFUL evening in Lisbon! The food stops and recommendations were 10/10! Diogo has set the bar extremely high for future experiences! Thank you for helping me fall more in love with your beautiful city and country!
This tour with G was amazing. He worked so hard to make it fun, interactive, and smooth. He was extremely knowledgeable about location history and gave a unique perspective on Portugese cuisine. It was amazing to hear from a true local. We did this tour with our 11 month old and a stroller and it was no problem! He made us feel very welcomed. Highly recommend to any traveling families!
Our guide was excellent—friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely committed to making the experience enjoyable for everyone. We really liked him. Unfortunately, while the guide was wonderful, I think the tour itself needs significant improvement, particularly in two areas: the food and the accessibility claims. First, the food was disappointing. I genuinely enjoy Portuguese cuisine and was looking forward to this tour. Unfortunately, the quality of the food at the selected stops was not particularly good, which is a fundamental problem for a food tour. Additionally, despite the advertised “17 tastings,” we experienced considerably fewer. The selections focused almost entirely on the most familiar Portuguese foods—the same things visitors encounter repeatedly in tourist areas throughout Portugal. I had hoped for a more interesting exploration of Portuguese cuisine, or stops that offered something beyond the typical tourist experience. Unfortunately, the tour didn't deliver that. Second, the accessibility description needs to be much more accurate. We specifically selected this tour because it was advertised as “no uphill” and “wheelchair accessible.” While the route may be easier than many other walking tours in Lisbon, that description did not accurately reflect the experience. I personally enjoyed the walking portion because I don't have mobility limitations, but for someone who does, the distinction is extremely important. Had we known what the route actually involved, we might have chosen a different experience. People seeking out a “no uphill” tour in a city as hilly as Lisbon are often doing so precisely because they have mobility challenges. It's essential that the company provide a realistic description of the terrain and physical demands rather than simply stating that the route is accessible. This would allow travelers to make informed decisions about whether the experience is appropriate for them. I want to emphasize that our guide went above and beyond to accommodate everyone's needs and handled the challenges extremely well. My criticisms are not directed at him, but at the tour design, food selections and marketing. Ultimately, accessibility claims need to be accurate, and a food tour needs to deliver genuinely good food. Despite having an excellent guide, this experience fell short on both counts. The high rating is simply because of the guide. Otherwise, I would’ve rated the tour three stars.
We really enjoyed this food tour, we were able to try a bunch of different dishes, learn about each and also learn more about Lisbon, Portuguese culture and history and got to see additional sights in Lisbon which was perfect for our first day in the city. We really enjoyed our group discussions and meeting the rest of our tour group. Carolina was a great guide! We got to go to five different places (one for a few bites, another for basically a full-blown dinner, then a stop for a drink and two locations right next to each other for three sweets and coffee). Everything was delicious!
Guilherme did a fantastic job! He was easy to talk to, very knowledgeable, and made the experience exactly what I was looking for. I got to taste some delicious local cuisine, and the spots he chose were excellent. I never felt rushed, and he was very accommodating, especially since I had just landed in Portugal an hour before the tour started. I really enjoyed the experience and would definitely book another tour with Guilherme in the future!
I have attended food tours in multiple countries across Europe but this was by far the best tour. Guilherme is super friendly, fun and knowledgeable. He took us to some of the most iconic places in Lisbon and made us try the best local delicacies. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to explore Lisbon through a local's lens, try out amazing Portuguese food and meet fun people along the way.
This food tour was hands down one of the best guided tours I have ever done. Gui is an incredible guide who brings an amazing atmosphere that you just cannot replicate. The food stops on the tour are just wow; and that’s coming from a real foodie. Price was very reasonable for what you get and tour length was perfect. Thank you for this experience!
Simply out of this world - would need a guide like this in every city!
Excellent food tour! Great selection of authentic Portuguese food and drinks, interesting stories about Lisbon, and a friendly, passionate guide. One of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommended!
I did this food tour with some friends and it was absolutely perfect. The food and wine were super authentic, and we loved discovering the real soul of the city with a great local vibe. Guilherme is an amazing person and he made our day truly unforgettable. If you want to taste the real Portugal and have a fun, relaxed time, you definitely need to book this tour. Highly recommended!
My grandparents emigrated from Portugal to Boston, so I grew up with this culture. This tour completely blew me away. Eating authentic alheira and codfish felt just like my Avó’s cooking, but premium. Don't think twice, just book it!
Would give it more stars if I could. Gui is absolutely fantastic. He is fluent in English and Spanish and equally entertaining in either. Do yourselves a favor and book this tour!
Fantastic food tour and one of the highlights of our trip to Lisbon! The food was delicious, the guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and we discovered great local spots we would never have found on our own. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to experience authentic Portuguese cuisine and culture.
Guilherme was a very kind and social guide. Our group was extremely small and he made it feel like a group of friends rather than a guided tour. He is also very attentive to everyone’s needs. 10/10 would recommend.
The tour guide did not show up and did not answer my call or text messages. Viator tried to contact them as well.
Amazing introduction to the Portuguese cuisine in a special neighbourhood and Carolina was the best! She was very fun, knowledgeable and shared her own personal stories that made it such a great and unique experience! A very enjoyable and memorable evening!
Fabulous! Carolina was outstanding! Funny, curious, had great stories & so much knowledge. We were with one other couple who were lovely. Felt like an evening spent with friends! As an added bonus the food was plentiful & delicious! The tour operator was also great. We got lost on our way to the meeting point. Our gps took us to a different location so we arrived 15 min late. They were very responsive and arranged for the group to meet us. Carolina also ordered extra items for us at the second stop so we could taste the dishes we missed at the first stop! Highly recommend !
Good behind the scenes tour with local however it did not follow the planned areas listed in the guidelines, upset we missed some of the areas we were expecting to visit. Pink street, market for example. Only 4 in group so that was pleasant but ended up walking up lots of hills and steps, guide said at least 3 times this is the last time we go up 😏.
Lots of walking up and down stone walkways. Food and guide were really good , but only had 1 glass of wine.
Ines was our food tour guide and was nothing short of excellent! She knew a lot of history about Lisbon and shared her passion with us. We had a few of the traditional Portuguese foods, and she explained what they were made out of, and the history behind it, including the famous Portuguese custard tart derived Nuns! Everything from learning about how cod showed up in Portuguese dishes to the advancement of women’s rights to vote. A little bit of food and a little bit of history all in one package- it was perfect!
Incredible tour through the heart of Lisbon filled with good food, great drinks, and fantastic history.
Wow! What an amazing experience. Tried foods we wouldn’t have tried if by ourselves and found small unpretentious restaurants we would have probably have walked past. The food was amazing and just the right amount. Alfonso, our guide, was absolutely brilliant. Knowledgeable and engaging. Kept checking we were all alright and providing us with little titbits of knowledge about the city and the best places to eat and visit. A lovely small group, so we weren’t lost in a big crowd. Would definitely recommend you do this tour - great value for money.
This was a fun tour with visits to local restaurants we would have missed on our own. Beatriz was a great guide with insight into the local community and shared her knowledge of Portuguese history. We really appreciated the local recommendations.
Carolina was our informative food tour guide. Mixed group of 8 aging from 20s, 30s, 40s and upto 71. We arrived in Lisbon that day so a fantastic way to get a tour around with food included. Carolina integrated with everyone individually. My group of 4 ladies enjoyed it very much. Thank you
Just didn't turn up! We waited at the meeting point, no one came so we rang the number and was told it wasn't on. We had no notice and had planned one of our three days in Lisbon around this, so are obviously dissapointed. Viator's page tells you to scroll down for customer service contact, when you do it's not there, no way of contacting them. Very very dissapointed, we booked three tours through Viator's and two out of three were cancelled. No point planning a trip around this success rate.
Great tour with Afonso, he showed us some great food spots in Lisbon and we learned a lot of history walking around town. Highly recommended guide for anyone visiting Lisbon!
We had a blast with G showing our group around - meals were carefully selected to ensure we tried different staples of Portuguese food and drinks. Would have G as our guide again in a heartbeat!
We had a great time with Beatrix touring Lisbon and trying all the food. It was a full experience and such a great time. If I were recommending any tour in Lisbon to a friend this would be the one. You really do get to know a culture through its food.
Daniela was our guide. She was amazing! Lots of history mixed with the food experience. Loved it all. We were able to plan the rest of our visit around the things we learned and recs from Daniela.
Amazing activity in a beautiful city. Afonso was an awesome guide and made the experience a lot of fun for the whole group. It genuinely was like being out with a friend. The food was delicious was plentiful and the facts and tips about the city was a lovely compliment. You must do this!!
We had the best time with Alfonso on this tour. He was friendly and chatty and obviously passionate about Portuguese food and culture. He was a great ambassador for Lisbon. We were introduced to some foods we would have never tried but loved. It was interesting talking to the other people on the tour and hearing their stories too. Well worth the money.
Food tours have become our go-to way to explore a city. The food culture is a great way to learn about a place and if you also get a great guide who is able to teach you about the history while eating amazing food what could be better? Our guide Daniela was certainly that and she showed us amazing places that we absolutely would not have found on our own. I only wish that we could have booked it earlier in our stay as the suggestions she gave at the end were invaluable.
No one showed up to the meeting place at 3PM . WILL DISPUTE THE CHARGE THRU MY CREDIT bad bad bad baby baby bad bad baby call me
Beatriz showed us some delicious places and also many cultural aspects of Lisbon - we had a wonderful day! The pastel de nata were a particular highlight and Beatriz was very helpful - our personal contact in Lisbon.
Lovely guide, very friendly and energetic. The tour just got too long for us, walking and time wise. We couldn't do the last stop. I would recommend to advertise for 3+km walking and be more precise with the estimated time. Saying that, I'd do it again...with a hat!!
Our excursion with Guilherme wasn’t simply a food tour. It was a combination of cultural and culinary experiences. Guilherme has such a passion for food, people, and helping people understand how food reflects the history of Lisbon and Portugal. Plus, he’s friendly, engaging and goes out of his way to make sure everyone on the tour has choices about what they do and don’t (or can’t) eat. Highly recommend!
This was a 5* tour! We had a great time, enjoyed learning about Lisbon and tasting all the food. G was a wonderful host. He went above and beyond and helped us plan our next day in Porto. He was full of information and lots of fun. We met up for dinner with the people on our tour the next evening! Do not miss this food tour!!
Guilherme was a wonderful guide! We tried local cuisine, heard about history of Portugal and had lots of laughs. Definitely recommend this food tour!
Pedro provided an excellent review of the key foods of Lisbon and Portugal. The portions were perfect for each stop. The variety of foods highlighted the most important dishes. Pedro provided a relaxing atmosphere and allowed ample time to eat and talk as needed. We highly recommend Pedro for the tour.
We had an incredible time with Guilherme on the food tour. He is so warm, energetic, and fun. Not only did he take us to some great places to sample delicious traditional Portuguese food, but he also took us on a nice walking tour of Lisbon. The atmosphere in our group was awesome. We met some really incredible people and bonded quickly. We got along so well, and had such a great time that after the tour we all met up again and went to dinner together! And speaking of dinner, Guilherme went above and beyond and got us a dinner reservations at a great restaurant that is usually booked solid. All in all, I can’t recommend this food tour with Guilherme enough. Thank you Guilherme for helping our group create some unforgettable memories!
G gave us a fantastic tour with delicious food. We got to see a large chunk of Lisbon and we were left with a long list of recommendations. He even went out of his way to make us lunch reservations at a restaurant that we were unable to find reservations for on our own. He was personable, and energetic and just provided a fantastic experience. I highly recommend you take this food tour while in Lisbon.
I had the best time trying out local food stops and hanging out with Guilherme. He's a charming, knowledgeable host, who's planned out a beautiful and comfortable route through the heart of the city. I loved learning about dishes I probably wouldn't have tried otherwise (hello, cod salad!) and simply enjoying the city in Guilherme's company. A long list of recommendations followed after the tour, so I highly recommend it, especially as starting point for exploring Lisbon.
Guilherme was amazing! We booked for our first day in Lisbon so we had a ton of recommendations from G. I highly recommend if you want to go to local spots for good prices. Food was amazing and our tour guide was very informative on the city’s history.
Wow, that was AMAZING, our host Guilherme was incredible. We had some really delicious food and a variety of different local/traditional tastings. The personal touch of where to go in Lisbon plus my next stop, Porto was an added bonus! If you want a fun, informative and fabulous food tour, make sure you book this. 11/10, thanks G.
Guilherme provided one of the best food tours I've ever been on. His personal and fun style really let the group relax early on and have a great experience. The food was brilliant, we were taken to small, unassuming locations which tourists would not normally go to and the experience was all the better for it. The explanation of the history of the food, as well as the locations of our stops really gave a unique feel to the tour. Any questions were answered with great enthusiasm and deep knowledge. The method was very well put together, and although a lot of food was offered, the pace was relaxed enough that it didn't feel uncomfortable or rushed. Last-minute dietary adjustments were met without issue and it made the experience a lot more relaxed. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting the best value in terms of food experience and history, for a great afternoon out.
Guilherme was fantastic and super engaging. This experience truly felt like someone I already knew was showing me around. Highly recommend it!
Great experience! Guilherme is an excellent guide. Great choice of places we visited and lovely story telling. One of the best food tours I've ever done.
Daniel was a great tour guide and was so accommodating! The original day of our tour was a rainy day, but we were able to reschedule to a sunny day. We had one vegetarian, and Daniel was able to provide sufficient options for the vegetarian. He gave great history and background of the food and curated an amazing tasting tour. The group loved him and the different food we tasted.
Want a charismatic, engaging introduction to the food, drink, history, and culture of Lisbon in 3.5 hours? A MUST-DO for any gourmand,! Guilherme’s tour opens the door to this amazing port city.
