Obidos And Nazare Private Personalized Half-day Experience

It was a spectacular experience!! Carlos was an excellent guide and was able to answer all our questions since he knows so much about the Portuguese history. He was very flexible as well. A great experience to two beautiful places with an incredible guide.

Paul was an excellent guide. He took us on a private tour of Nazare and Obidos. He has a lot of history guiding tours and it was obvious that he knows the material. Very accommodating and kind! Wonderful man!!

Our tour guide was very good but the tour company knowingly sent him out in a car that was leaking oil. This became the concern of the entire trip, and we stopped more than once to add oil. Considering that we paid a fortune for a private tour this was not acceptable.

It was truly a private tour. We were picked up at our hotel in a very comfortable car. Ismael was our driver and tour guide and told us a lot about the history of the towns. We were able to explore on our own as well.

We had limited time in Portugal and wanted to see Nazare and Óbidos and we could fit this 1/2 day tour in our schedule. It was enjoyable but we felt rushed, although not the fault of the guide, we just personally needed more time at these places, especially Nazare. Our guide pointed out points of interest in Obidos but in Nazare we felt we were on our own. Part of the problem was most of the restrooms were locked and we used up most of our hour trying to find an open restroom.

Our guide was informative and made sure we had a great experience. It was a wonderful way to visit some spots outside of Lisbon.

If you can, request Ismael. So knowledgeable and friendly. The tour was great, and he made sure to point out cultural things like the dried fish that was out on display in Nazare. So many things really that I don't know where to begin. In fact, at Nazare the waves were rather uneventful the day we went, but Ismael had videos and prior photos of days when they were bigger and sent them to me which I did not ask for. I appreciated that so much. Portugal is beautiful- can't wait to go back.

Ismael picked me up promptly at my scheduled time and location in a new and clean Tesla. He was welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. I got to see all my must-see spots and more. The entire experience was stress free and delightful. I highly recommend it for folks who want a solo/small group experience that’s somewhat similar to an “uber black” experience. I will be coming back to experience the chill charm of Portugal.

Relaxing and flexible afternoon with Paulo, our driver and guide. If you are looking for a comfortable way to explore Obidos and Nazare with a limited amount of time - then this is the way to go. Paulo allowed us to customize our itinerary, and not once did we feel rushed.

Nuno picked us up right on-time at our hotel and the adventure began. His car was spotless. Nazaré was beautiful and our visit to the famous lighthouse was wonderful. The weather was beautiful, sunny, and the ocean was calm. Next we headed to Óbidos. We enjoyed walking around and grabbed a quick lunch at a quaint cafe. Highly recommend this tour and we want to thank our driver, Nuno, for his warm hospitality and kindness.

Carlos was an excellent host and driver. He’s very knowledgeable about history, politics and the economy of Portugal. He’s very professional. The Benz was in excellent shape and extremely clean. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would select Gold Compass and Carlos again.

We have been to Nazare and Obidos with Paul and this has been a lovely experience. This was an excellent private day tour. Our guide Andre was outstanding and very knowledgeable on the history of Obido and Nazare, as well as the overall history of the country of Portugal. I highly recommend him and the private tour company.

If you are limited in the amount of time for seeing Nazare and Obidos, this is a good option. Our driver, Euclides, was an excellent driver, and the vehicle was spacious and comfortable. We spent an hour at each location which was not enough to see everything, but we were grateful for the opportunity to explore lovely seaside Nazare and the historic castle village in Obidos.
