Sailing with Sal exceeded all expectations. We booked their two-hour Private Sailing Tour along the Tagus River, and it was unforgettable. It was a scorching hot day in Lisbon, and the breeze off the water was exactly what we needed — paired with stunning views of the city from the river, it made for the perfect afternoon. Miguel and his crew were knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely kind, delivering great service from start to finish. We’ll absolutely be booking another sail next time we’re in Lisbon!

This is a lovely way to see Lisbon’s seafaring history. Our captain and crew were very friendly and informative. The wine was crisp and refreshing. We did two hours on the wide saltwater river. It was perfect.

We booked Sailing with Sal after watching Michael Portillo's visit to Lisbon on television. We are so glad we did! Miguel, the captain, was excellent company with a great sense of humour and we enjoyed many laughs. He was also proved to be very knowledgeable about the history and many sights of Lisbon. Mariana was his extremely capable assistant. They both made us all feel very safe and comfortable. We were treated to a complimentary glass of local wine and cold beer. So relaxing! Viewing Lisbon and its coastline from the sea is a truly unique experience and definitely not to be missed. Thank you Miguel and Mariana.

We are 2 couples and together hired Miguels beautiful sailing yacht to take us on a day tour from Lisbon to Cascais and return. Miguel, our experienced Skipper,and the lovely Beatriz, looked after us well, with liquid refreshments and nibbles, sharing information on the beautiful coastline and many other interesting facts and friendly chatter. Whilst the tide was against us, we did manage to enjoy a part of the journey under sail. The boat was very comfortable ...we had a couple of hours to explore Cascais before returning to Lisbon. This incredible tour is the perfect ending to a peaceful evening! My husband and I booked the most brilliant sail with Miguel and had so much fun! It’t a must to see Lisboa from the river, it’s a game changer.

Miguel and Pilar took us sailing on the Tejo river. We felt safe even with small kids at all times. Miguel seems very skilled and knowledgeable and he made sure we were comfortable at all times. They even had snacks and drinks available for us (although we also brought some for our children). We originally booked a sunset sail but the weather was very bad when our trip was supposed to happen. Miguel reached out to us via WhatsApp and offered to reschedule the next day. Our private sailing tour was the perfect end to the day! Miguel and his son were so nice and attentive! The sunset was immaculate and they made sure our wine glasses were never empty. They were willing to answer all of our questions and even changed course so we could see some dolphins! We loved every second! Highly recommend!!!!

I can’t say enough good things about our experience with Sailing with Sal. My wife and I took a sunset cruise to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. It was great! Miguel met us promptly at the dock when he said he would and welcomed us on his boat, which was very nice and in tip-top shape. His first mate (and daughter), Bea, tended to us wonderfully. Such nice people. We had a lovely time and it was the perfect way to celebrate our milestone. We had such a great time in Portugal, and this was our favorite activity while we were there. Five star experience all the way!!

It is a very very nice experience. The captain is super knowledgeable and he and the screw is very kind and nice to every one of us and tell us a lot of stories for each places. And they even gave my son a lot of cookies! I would highly highly recommend the private trip, with a little more than the public trip, you can enjoy a customized trip and you will have the chance to talk with captain and get severed all the time. Trust me, it will be very very nice experience you will never forget and regret

It was more than amazing. I saw the reviews online so i had high expectations and Miguel and his wonderful son still managed to exceed my expectations. The view was just breathtaking and we had the most fun history lessons ever. Both Miguel and his son were so sweet and delightful and they did it so passionately. I booked this for my girlfriend and our first valentines day together. Money well spent to say the least. This one was for the books. Thanks again guys! We ended our trip with a tradition but thats a surprise you will have to find out yourself.

we had a fabulous afternoon with miguel and his wife! seeing lisboa from the water is the best! he has a fabulous sail boat! they provide snacks wine and beer! miguel is very knowledgeable of portugal history! it was a special day sailing on the Tagus with friends!

I chartered a private experience with my just my friend. Miquel and his crew member (I can’t remember his name) was amazing!!! They were so accommodating, friendly and hospitable. Miguel was great at pointing out some of the sites and telling us the history of each one. They provided us with wine and light snacks and blankets when the winds got a little chilly. At the end of the tour we all took a shot of Portuguese wine. What a way to end a great experience!!! We sailed at 7 which was perfect timing for the sunset and to see the early evening lights on shore. I definitely recommend taking this tour especially with Miguel.

The crew was great and we loved seeing Lisbon from the river! They had beer, wine, & snacks for us plus a special surprise at the end. Very knowledgeable about the sites along the river and took photos for us!

This was a great experience. The father son team were good guides to tell us the sites as we sailed. He truly used only wind power for most of our travels which was cool. He explained how his boat worked to our family and even let us take the helm for a bit. This was unique as the host was a father and son rather than a big company experience and the difference showed. The captain was clearly talented managing traffic and gusts well.

My wife and I booked this private boat tour and absolutely loved the trip and and down the Tagus River. Our guide and his crew mate were fantastic, accommodating, and knowledgeable. The winds were fairly stiff that evening and their ability to correctly set the sails and tack accordingly made the trip smooth and safe. We would strongly recommend this private tour to anyone!

A timeless moment!
