You get on the bus and go around the city. We didn’t get off and there weren’t many stops announced. The line goes from pink/red where we got on and changed to blue at stop 1. This was great but it wasn’t communicated via our headphones. More clear instructions would have been helpful. Things like knowing when to stop and how soon the next bus would be arriving. Great stop #6 at the cruise port.
Terrible. The pink route took us through an industrial part town no one would care to see. The audio was awful half of the seats didn’t work and the commentary didn’t match where the bus was geographically.
Great way to see the sights of Lisbon on a layover! You decide which tour and the amount of time you want to spend! Easy to get to any of the pick up points by subway from the airport!
We booked the all in one ticket for 72 hours and it was such great value for money at 47euros each. The boat journey was great and we did it on 2 separate days, the second time we used it to get back from Belem. The Trams were great as well although and we really enjoyed the hills tour, the royal tour gave us chance to see Belem sights before coming back on the blue line and getting the boat back All staff were very friendly and the audio guides were great. We didnt manage the red line on the bus as we ran short of time I would highly recommend getting the combi tickets as it makes each trip very reasonable. The times in between pickups and drop off were quite long as there aren't as many yellow bus as red bus tours but we were very pleased with our choice.
Waiting in one stop took 1:20 minutes. Really good for all around sightseeing but hop off looking around and jumping in the bus does work as promised
On time & very nice places seen. I will recommend this tour and company! Driver and the Emmanuel the guide both did a great Job.
Please get rid of the music as this is not good
We waited over an hour at Belem as 6 of the other main operator - red tour buses pulled up and picked up passengers. The yellow buses never ran to schedule. Hopeless wouldn’t recommend
We dont use the app, so its a little surprise with time, when the bus is comming. But the tour war verry interesting and the guide in different languages was perfect. Thank for the good experience.
Another total fail. Been standing waiting almost an hour. Book on the Red hop on hop off not the yellow.
The Yellow Bus no longer operates from the Cruise Terminal. You need to cross the roadway. Documents from the Yellow Bus sign says if not operating. Contact Customer Service and couldn’t get a reply. Had to go on a Red Bus to see Lisbon. Now to get a refund for not providing the service. Not a good way to start the day in Lisbon.
No one was at the yellow bus counter when we got off our cruise ship in Lisbon, Portugal . It was a Sunday but their competition, the red hop on hop off bus had plenty of help and loads of buses. We had prepaid for the yellow but had no choice other than book on with the red bus company costing another 60 Euros. No yellow busses to be found. Horrible experience
Blue route and red routes with the tramvia ride was well laid out and narrated clearly..Bus stop was a little hard to find at the beginning but once you find it, it goes smoothly
We enjoyed our Hop-On, Hop-Off experience! In addition to the bus, we also went on the trolley. The driver was very kind and had to navigate street closures due to a festival. He made sure that we had a memorable time.
One day in Lisbon and trip to Cascais took 3 hours for a 1 hour stop. The bus ride was uncomfortable on a speeding bus.
The routes on the Yellow Tours go past all the highlights of the city. And the variety of buses and trams is a fun way to get around. The vehicles are clean with interesting audio explaining the sites and landmarks. Special shout out to the woman tram operator who was friendly, and especially Sylvia at bus Stop #1 who was amazing. She patiently answered all our questions and gave us great advice before getting on the bus! Definitely recommend this hop on hop off bus and tram tour co.
Booked the yellow hop on hop off with boat ride. Good value. Please note stop 5 is up a very long slope, anyone with mobility issues not a good stop to get on or off at . Stop 3 at the top of liberty avenue is much more accessible. Boat ride is accessible from stop 1 or 13 and you can get on at one and off at the other.
The Belém bus and Hills tram tours were both very good. Lots to see, good commentary and a nice drive. The Modern Lisbon bus tour was very underwhelming to be honest. Unfortunately unless you like driving out to the airport and passed shopping malls, there is nothing to see outside of a couple of impressive murals on the side of tower blocks. The booking process was easy and the staff were very helpful. Overall, the ticket was worth the price for the tram and Belém tours but I would advise to leave the Modern tour until last (or leave it out) especially if you are short of time.
First, my husband booked a hop on hop off accidentally for the next day, not the day we needed. Our fault. Reached out immediately to Viator to switch the day. Response was, nope talk to the bus people. Ok, our fault. So rebooked another for the right day, which was for that day, our last day in Portugal. I still have not gotten the tickets for the bus, so we booked through someone else. We paid them twice and got nothing. I’m going to have to call when I return home. Very frustrating and disappointing. This maybe a fluke, because we have booked with no issues before. But if traveling to Portugal, don’t book hop on hop off with them.
I had a very unpleasant experience. I took both routes, blue and red. The blue is an industrial route, there is nothing to see, it is awful. I saw fabric, cemetery, the port, only things that are very boring and not touristic. It feels like you are in a public transport bus. The red route is a little more exciting but still not for me. I wouldn’t recommend to take this bus. I recommend to take the Elétrico, the tram, instead.
My husband and I done the amazing tour that promoters on the street help us to decide what to do, all well explain, easy going talking and very communicative person, she was so happy to help us with all the information we needed it, Karina did a fantastic job with all the info we needed it. The drivers and all the people were so nice and happy to help with any info. The busses were so clean, confy and all the information in the tour was really nice, also another thing that we loved was that between all the explanation in the busses they put Portuguese music, so nice and relaxing, really loved that. Thanks Yellow for having us to have a amazing time in Lisbon, we’ll definitely come back ✨
The Belam tour was great lovely scenery and great stops, as was the Red Tram tour great route but no stops which was a shame but very informative. Wasn't impressed with the Modern Lisbon tour as some of the information was repetitive and the sights were quite frankly a bit boring. Scourge of our times the modern tour was littered with graffiti as like every capital city in the world a real shame.
30 minute wait for buses. Didn’t give us earplugs for audio, used our own. Otherwise standard hop on/off.
The bus routes take in some key places and make it accessible to get around. For us the tram tour was our favourite, a calm way to travel. The downside to the buses were they were so infrequent and meant you couldn’t really see that much, hop on and off wasn’t really the case. Very friendly helpful drivers.
Although we did like using hop on hop off, we ran into 2 issues which we think should be addressed. First, there were some planned road closures along one portion of the route we wanted to take. Given the closures, certain stops were not accessible. This was not explained to us in any way. Some warnings or info made available regarding potential route impacts should have been shared. Second, as a second incident we took the subway to a part of town and expected to hop onto a hop on hop off bus from close to that location for further stops along the way. We couldn't find the planned stop and so walked up the route to the next stop only to find another couple who had been waiting there for 40 minutes. On the app I could see a bus coming, but then it turned around skipping the stop we were waiting at. Frustrated we started walking and then grabbed a Bolt to get to our next generation. Time and money spent... not happy. R
We took the blue line and it was absolutely worth it. It gave us the chance to see another side of the city, passing through areas that felt more like the business district, and discovering neighborhoods with a completely different vibe. It was a great way to appreciate Lisbon’s variety, and every part we saw looked amazing. Lisbon truly is a wonderful city.
This experience was beyond disappointing. The busses were infrequent- ridiculous wait times at each stop. Confusing routes - 6 other passengers at the stop and my family could not make sense of the map. Drivers who ignored questions when asked. What a waste of money.... more importantly we wasted our limited time we had in Lisbon. come on Viator do better !
Very hard to find the bus initially the start. Instructions not very clear and never did receive and answer from the contact person.
this is a joke waited over an hour for the bus to arrive at my stip and never did i want my money back
One bus was broken down. Second bus took forever to leave. Super poor customer service and and communication. We left the trip before it started.
Great option to see the city and it stops at all important places for pictures. Also, friendly staff members.
Comfortable, easy to enter the bus or exit. Not too long to take entire route. Good exposure to a beautiful little city.
Lots of walking up and down hills. If you have lower extremities arthritis, premedication is a good idea. It was an action packed day! Our guide provided an educational historical overview at each city.
Was told the tram was not running and then saw it later and people were squeezed in like sardines. Not safe or enjoyable. Bus stops are so far apart we ended up taking taxis in between.
There are 2 companies that run Hop On Hop Off tours, we chose the Yellow Bus. Turns out, maybe, we should have chosen the other. First off, one of the stops (#3 Marques de Pombal) so longer exists but it is still marked on the map. We walked around for a bit looking for it and found the other company, who told us where the next closest stop was. When we made it to the other stop, others waiting told us there are less busses on the Yellow bus than the other company. That being said, we didn't have to wait too long (maybe 15 minutes). Timing seemed to improve later in the day so maybe they add more busses as the day goes on. The stops seem to be in good locations for the areas we wanted to stop at. Busses seemed full but usually enough got off at the stops that we always were able to get on when we wanted to. We decided to walk between stops for a couple of the locations. This, turns out, was not a good idea. The map showing the stops is not easy to navigate, especially since there are no street names. Fortunately, we were able to ask vendors on where the stops were. Beyond the control of the tour company, there was a protest which caused the closure of some of the streets. We were grateful that someone from the tour company came to the stop we were at and led us to the next stop for us to get on. Overall, Yellow Bus is OK and served it's purpose of getting around Lisbon.
My experience was better than expected touring with yellow bus. With many of the negative reviews, I feared the worse like not being able to hop back on but to my surprise, my friends and I got back on without any problems. What I like about yellow bus is that you can track the next arriving bus from a QR code on their brochure. The average time is about 30 minutes. At one stop, there was a couple who was refused to board a red bus because it was a different Red bus. Under the circumstances, they pleaded with the yellow bus driver and was allowed to get on the yellow bus. What I also liked included with your ticket are the free ride on the Santa Justa Lift and free rides on the public trams. You'll definitely appreciate these trams when going up hills. Thumbs up for the yellow bus.
I bought the 72 hours pass. I’ve looking for buses or tram to give the service I’d paid for. In the last couple hours “all the buses and tram” are out of service. There’s no warning in the web page and no one from customer service (the people who activates the vouchers) can give any explanations.
***BUYERS BE AWARE*** DON'T GET SCAMMED LIKE WE DID. We arrived at the cruise port in Lisbon and a very friendly lady at the desk told us to get these very specific tickets, she said it was the only ones available. We didn't know that she had sold us 2 days tickets, knowing full well that our Disney cruise was only going to be there for the day, in addition she charged us for 3 adults, even though they have teenage pricing and our son is only 15. In addition, the routes they have are long and tedious, you waste so much time and it isn't worth it at all, as the city center is just walking distance and is a beautiful walk and area. Don't waste your money using this bus service.
We chose yellow over red company but sorry. We were in Port two days and bought 2 day ticket. But we We came to counter in Port terminal the second day there was no one at yellow bus counter and no yellow bus. The red and green lines were there. Only op t ion was to walk to the Rosario square 30 minutes up hill. I applied for refund and hope they respond. For now best to choose red line if at cruiseport in lisbon
The Lisbon Yellow Bus is horrible. The headsets didn’t work on the tram and the Modern Lisbon route is boring. When the guide wasn’t speaking there was a horrible woman screeching that was supposed to pass as music. The bus doesn’t come to the cruise terminal to pick up passengers, just sell tickets. However they do leave a yellow bus banner so you sit there and wait for the bus for 20 minutes until you walk to the square to pick up the bus yourself. The don’t even leave a map at their kiosk in the port. Definitely buy the red bus tickets.
Narrative was very limited and not up to date. The seats are very uncomfortable. The drivers are very jerky in the movement of the bus and care little about passengers trying to get on and off. Wish the route would include more neighborhoods. Could be so much better.
1. Waited in th 90 degree sun (after a long walk to the bus stop) at the door of the bus waiting to show our ticket to get in. The driver was helping someone so we waited. A couple (age around 75; us 65) cut in front of us and said something in French to us. They went ahead of us showing their tickets and were given the nod to go in. Now, why didn’t the driver acknowledge my husband and me standing in the hot , tickets in hand, and right at the front door steps to the bus? 2. No air conditioning on the bus. I only wish I had a picture of my sweaty face and hair. I used the map for a fan and held it up to block the sun at my window. It was miserable m. Why didn’t I get off? After all it was a “Hop on-Hop off bus ride. 3. That was because it was difficult to heat the audio recording do we were never quite sure where we were or if it was a place we would want to get off. It was maybe an hour and one half round trip. Not many places were pointed out and not much history was given. 4. I did see online that it had 3 out of 5 stars. I had been on other Hop on/off buses in other places and thought surely it had to be better than that-nope! It was worse. Save your money. There are other ways to see Lisbon. And yes, we did a couple of those as well. They are much better, just more expensive.
Very good value to see the city in the time we had (48 hrs). The purple or red route was a good way to see the new part of the city but not much worth getting off for. The Hills Tram was great but it is a get on one pass with no opportunity to get off. It's understandable because the area that it covers is very old and the streets are so narrow so stoping is difficult. It does show you the spots you would want to go to if you want to walk up or get another transport to come see. If we had time we would have made the trip up. The blue line to Belhem was great. The Monastery de Jeronimos was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. We ran out of time so didn't get to go inside (next time for sure). Stop for the tarts just west of the monastery, they are worth it, stand in line, ...my wife was right. Thank you Diane. The MAAT was disappointing but the Museum of Electicity that is part of it is worth the admission to the MAAT. The three route pass also allows you to use the Lift ( elevator), 3 funiculars to access the upper hills and the 15E, 20E and 28E trams. With all of this you can basically get anywhere in the lower city.
The first part off the trip from the cruise port was so dull, I thought I'd made a mistake booking this trip. We got off in the square for refreshments before boarding the blue line. This was so much more enjoyable and good commentary too. All in all I would recommend using this tour if in Lisbon as a good way to get around and learn about the city while doing so.
Bus was on time, good to see all of Lisbon and decide what to visit latter on the journey. We got the validity extended to 72 hours after we added the boat tour. Additional payment was 9 euro per person.
The drivers are extremely friendly and helpful. The ability to have access to two lines for touring and a free ticket to Santa Justa Lift was very nice. The ticket purchase offered more than just a tour.
This is our first visit to Lisbon. After we arrive in a new city, we like to get an overview of the highlights of the area. I find using the Hop on Hop off buses a good way to do this. The 3 routes offered in this package gave us a great opportunity to see where we want to use the remainder of our time in Lisbon.
This tour company is a complete rip off. 1 tour was ok. 1 tour was mostly the same as the first and showing you where the malls are. Finally the tram tour, we could not get on as the lines were too long. Too many tickets sold. This was a total scam and rip off. Never again booking with this company. They should be ashamed to take money for what they are giving people.
The tram part of the Lisbon Hop-On Hop-Off Tour was great. The guide was very knowledgeable and personable. We would definitely recommend this part of the tour. The following day we went to the bus stop and waited for an hour. The bus never came, so we started to walk various places. After a while we waited at another stop, but the bus never came. In fact, the entire day we never saw a yellow bus to get on. What a waste of time and money. We finally ended up buying a Grayline hop-on hop-off pass for the rest of the day, which worked well.
