We made pastel du nata, bacalau, pork ribs, and Portuguese style scotch egg. There was plenty of wine and beer. It was a full family style meal. Had a great time with our chef teacher Miguel and learned a little bit too.

Itinerary
Go beyond pastel de nata and discover the savoury flavours Portuguese people enjoy in local taverns, festivals and family gatherings. During this two-hour hands-on cooking class, you’ll prepare three traditional favourites with guidance from our friendly local instructors: • Bifana — Portugal’s iconic pork sandwich • Caldo verde — a comforting traditional green collards soup • Peixinhos da horta — crispy green bean fritters often linked to the origins of tempura Begin with a short introduction to the dishes and their place in Portuguese culture. Then roll up your sleeves and cook alongside the other participants, learning techniques and recipes that are simple enough to recreate at home. Once the cooking is complete, sit down together and enjoy everything you have prepared as a full meal, accompanied by Portuguese wine and a tasting of ginja, Lisbon’s traditional sour cherry liqueur. No previous cooking experience is required. Just arrive hungry and ready to cook, eat and have fun.

Authentic food, nice atmosphere, great cooking teachers
Two hour Portuguese street cooking class today. Fabulous session with wonderful Martinez who went above and beyond making this such a brilliant experience - can’t thank her enough. Lovely facilities, lots of food, friendly guidance and fellow participants. Really recommend this 100% as a must do when in Lisbon.
The instructor was great, and so were the other guests. I would definitely make the 3 dishes at home. Love the simplicity of the recipes.
It was one of the highlights of our 3-week trip. Whole family, including teenagers, all agreed this was the best and we would do something like this in every city we travel to in the future. It is a memory we will cherish forever and recipes we will enjoy at home! Everyone agreed, the recipes we made came as top three sandwiches (local recipe), EVER!
Terrific teaching class by Marta. So much history. Loved the food and the hands on experience Will be cooking these back at home
Delightful cooking class with hands on experience while learing the culture and history of the food. There were 2 couples total so our experience was a small group learning environment. The food was easy and so good. We had more than enough food for the 4 of us. I would highly suggest this cooking experience.
Marta and Anna were amazing! I learned so much about Portuguese culture and the importance of the comfort food that we made. Loved every minute!
So much fun, definitely a must do when you are in Lisbon. Food and staff were amazing. We had a such a great time.
This was a wonderful experience. Initially we thought it was just dinner, but were pleasantly surprised when we got a nice walk and the history of Fado. Miguel was super informative and even translated the songs for us. We can’t say enough good things about him. He made the experience so much more enjoyable. The singers and musicians were very talented and it was fun to participate. We also really liked the food and wine. Don’t hesitate to book this excursion. You won’t be disappointed.
Lovely experience learning, cooking, then socializing. It was easy and quick with the whole group participating. I’m now inspired to make each of these dishes!
This was the perfect activity for a rainy Saturday afternoon. The food was delicious and so easy to make. It is clear that they have a passion for sharing Portuguese cooking. Thank you for a great experience!
We had a class with Marta and it was extremely informative and dynamic. She accompanied us and guided us all the time. Although it was a small group of people, the experience was spectacular with spectacular people. We ate what we did and it was wonderful. I definitely recommend these classes and any class in this space.
