The timetable for the bus was not listed anywhere. On our return trip we had to wait over 1 hour for a bus. Not a good company or service.

Reviews
The experience was exceptional, characterized by the driver’s exemplary professionalism. Could you please provide further details regarding the city tour? The historical architecture and monuments were particularly striking, with the statue of Jesus Christ being a notable highlight.
Waited +60 minutes instead of 30. A lot of lost hours for waiting. Would not recommend..
Ticket was purchased through website. It was impossible to catch the bus. When we arrived from the cruise terminal all hop on hop off services were present except for the Yellow Hop on Hop Off. They had a kiosk and no one was present. They had an area assigned with a sign and no bus was present. We waited for 45 minutes while the competitors busies continually flowed through the area. We were told to walk across the street and waited at a designated site for another 30 minutes. We tried to call the toll free number for assistance 2-3 times and got voice mail. We walked back to the terminal and purchased a competitor’s ticket and achieved success.
The yellow busses are not coming very often and once you reach #1 stop, there is no continuous loop - bus just sits there for a half hour or longer. Should have picked a different tour.
Bus was fine although no Air Conditioning. Bus was worth it overall. Hop on off was exactly as described.
We got the headphones halfway down the tour . The audio stations were not working. You had to move from seat to seat in order to find something that worked. Not worth the price . Metro is cheaper.
It was Nice to see Belém , but on the rooftop of the bus there were a lot of the radios that didn’t work , so we couldn’t listen to the explenation about the different monuments and buildings.
I am sitting in my room on the Celebrity Apex cruise ship, in Lisbon. It is August 4, 2026 and we have just returned from a Yellow bus tour. We are seasoned travellers and have visited all 7 continents at least once. We have used several hoponhopoff buses over the years, but this has been, by far, the worst experience we have had. 1. The agent who sold us our ticket had zero personality. As well, we indicated we had just come off a cruise ship at the Lisbon Celebrity dock. She told us about the Blue route, but to add Red it would be six extra Euros. We only bought Blue, not knowing that we also needed Red to get back to our ship. I would have thought she would recognize that and said something. But she was in such a hurry to sell us tickets I suppose she didn’t care. And no “thank you” or “have a great trip”. 2. When we got to the second level, all the outside seats had water in them. I went back down to ask for a cloth or something else to wipe the seats. The drive said he didn’t have one and did not apologize for the inconvenience. Very poor. 3. The lady who sold us the tickets said we would be notified (via headphones) of the stop numbers so we would know when to get off. But the narration never once mentioned a stop number and the yellow signs on the sidewalks were so low we could barely see them. I do not recommend Yellow Tours and Experiences Ed Hamilton, Canada
Nice way to see the Lisboa. Guide Maria was very friendly, charming and professional. The tour was excellently organized by Yallow Bus company.
The tour covers all the highlights of Lisbon. Recommend taking the time to see the whole route then choose where you want to truly explore. We were able to see all that we wanted and meet friends at a great waterfront restaurant. Easy to access by the metro. It even includes Tram tickets.
We took the central city/Belem yellow bus and saw quite a few highlights. We even took it a second time! Enjoyed seeing this beautiful city on a weather-perfect day
Great route around Lisbon. Bus was on time at the stops and lots of information given when listening to audio.
A must do, gives you an idea of the area allowing you to plan where you want to spend time. Also great way to see a lot without too much activity.
This yellow bus line does not offer as many stops as their competitor. Check before you purchase to ensure you see the sites you are interested in. It was not convenient to our hotel and we had to take a Tram for access where as their competitor was across the street from the hotel.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Judging by the other reviews, this company is a scam and they do not care. Wanted to do the hop on, hop off tour, waited over an hour for the first bus, the driver drove past our first stop without stopping so got off at the 2nd stop and waiting another 40 min past the scheduled time for pick up. 3rd stop waiting almost 2 hours (while watching 4 of the red sight-seeing busses come and go). Lots of people waiting, most gave up and got taxis. We gave up in the end and when the bus finally came we just stayed on the bus until the end as we could not face any more waiting in the hot sun missing a lot of attractions we were hoping to see. Were only in Lisbon for 3 days and lost the best part of the day waiting for a bus that should turn up every 30 min. Spent 4 hours waiting for less than 15 min on the bus. This is disgusting service!!! Also, they don't put the timetables on the stops, only a QR code that makes you download their app, give them permission to harvest your data then just get a 404 error code. IF YOU HAVE HAD A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE PLEASE CONTACT THE COMPANY AND ASK FOR THEIR COMPLAINTS BOOK. THEY SHOULE NOT BE ALLOWED TO OPPERATE LIKE THIS.
Before joining the afternoon Belem tour on Saturday our group spoke with the guide / salesperson by the tour bus to check on how long the tour itself was, that we would be ok getting off at the stops and getting back on and how long we would wait at each stop, we were advised the tour was an hour 50 and buses were travelling every half an hour so we wouldn't have to wait long at a stop and we took the tour. We got off at the 10th stop Mosteiro dos Jerónimos and walked down to the 11th stop at the Torre de Belém. Whilst seeing the Fort/Tower we just missed a bus returning to the centre and decided to wait for the next one. It was exceptionally hot and there were a few people waiting and bit by bit those people got fed up and left. It had been over half an hour when we checked the WhatsApp for updates using the QR code on the yellow bus sign and this advised that several of the later evening night buses where cancelled due to the events in the city this week. But the earliest one listed as cancelled was still and hour and a half away and the buses were supposed to arrive every half an hour, and there were still 5 stops we wanted to complete. We continued to wait, largely in the baking sun (and what nearby shade was available) for the next hour. It had been over an hour and a half with no signs of a bus, which we felt was ridiculous given our earlier conversation, when we decided to order an Uber as we thought all the buses must have been cancelled and the WhatsApp not been updated. As we pulled away in the Uber the bus was finally coming up the road, but to have waited that long with no update was still a terribly poor experience and we ultimately missed the end of our tour.
Don't use this service. Wait between buses is at least one hour, not 30 minutes as advertised in the brochure. Scan QR code at bus stop to track your bus does not work. Would never use this company again. There have been 4 of the red bus company's buses through here whole I have been waiting.
We only had one day to see the city. We did the hop on hop off with the audio commentary. Saw all of the top cites and was even able to explore a little. Highly recommended.
Good commentary and way to see the sights, booked at last minute and it was priced very reasonably. Good way to get about
Excellent tour. I stayed on the bus all the time. Saw a lot.
We enjoyed our tour of Lisbon. Very interesting and reasonable. Went around city twice and got off at many stops.
Tour operator didn't inform us the bus was not going to operate until 2pm due to a marathon. We purchased tickets on sight seeing lisboa. They were at port at 8am when we were ready.
Even though I paid for our tickets in advance of our travel, we had no option but to pay a second time (and for a higher amount) when the driver said he could not access the UPC on my phone with no internet availability, or my ticket reservation number from my receipt. So, I never was able to redeem the original ticket purchase. I would like to request a refund. The first charge was 39.60 EU and the second charge was 60.00 EU. If a refund is not issued for one of the charges, then I would be happy to contact my credit card for a resolution. It would be great to hear from someone at Viator about this. I have copies of the receipts and tickets. The ride itself was fine.
No signage for bus. No help also the description of the ride wasn't clear and confusing. Had to upgrade the service to get back to the ship
The bus & driver were in good condition and safe. They audio guide worked in many languages. We seemed to be waiting for pickups longer than the promised time at the stops. Other companies seemed to have more buses? Also it would really help if the stop number was displayed inside the bus so you could figure out where you where. It was hard to see the signs at the stops if you were sitting on the other side of the bus.
We had a difficult time finding just where the blue line start was located. It would be ideal if Yellow would very clearly identify in their brochure or advertising where to board the initial boarding. Otherwise the tour was very good. At some infrequent points we were disappointed at times to want to know what the building or complex was in front of us. For example the building on our left at one point was the federal justice building/courthouse but it was not identified. We only knew once we checked our Google maps details.
I thought I’d booked the red bus. Had to climb uphill to deserted location for first stop. Wait 1 hour for yellow bus at next stop. Although saw multiple red buses stopping and then at the second to last stop. The driver told us next departure was in 20 minutes. Use the red bus. Book directly!
It starts at 9 am. Subway stop is nearby. Purchase of tickets to different lines is very well organized.
The tour itself was boring and poorly designed. We did not pass by the most beautiful or interesting monuments, which was very disappointing. On top of that, we had to wait one full hour for the bus to arrive at the Belém stop, with no clear information or explanation. This wasted a lot of our time and made the experience even more frustrating. Overall, the tour did not meet expectations and is not good value for money. I would not recommend it.
The experience wasn’t great never used the service the bus did not arrive outside the cruise terminal were we expected by the big yellow flag someone from another company said it was over the dual carriage way at another stop so has we crossed the road and the bus ijust departed so waited another hour then gave up but to be fair to Yelliw buses they did refund us so pleased with that
Had a negative experience with the Yellow hop on hop off service at cruise terminal but full credit to this service gave full refund so pleased with their customer service
We waited twice for over an hour to get on the bus. The Red Bus and Grey line Bus passed us atleast 4 times. Driver had huge attitude. Low quality tour.
Beautiful experience and memories! A wonderful opportunity to see the place and learn its history! Thank you!
Hard to obtain information re bus. No one seemed to know where it started from. There was no information kiosk or office to get assistance. Several places sold tickets but couldn't help with questions or where to get the bus. The bus doesn't run about every 30 minutes as stated, as we stood an hour awaiting a bus after hopping-off at a stop. Three "Red" buses came by before the "Yellow" bus appeared after an hour wait.
This Hop-on Hop-off experience provided a great overview of part of Lisbon. Because of the width of the streets, the bus is not able to navigate the very narrow streets of old Lisbon. This is best done on foot or by Tuk Tuk. The commentary on the bus was informative and provided interesting information. It was a bit challenging for our taxi driver to find the initial/central starting point as the address/point has changed. There are also more than one route for this company so it's important to find the correct spot for the route purchased. Overall, a good experience!
I took the Belém Lisbon Tour with Yellow Bus and the experience was good overall. The route is great — you get a comfortable overview of Belém: Belém Tower, Jerónimos Monastery, the Discoveries Monument, LX Factory and the whole riverside area. One important thing to know: – Each tour has its own stops. Make sure you check the correct stop for the line you bought. I accidentally went to the stop of a different route (Modern Lisbon), so the driver couldn’t let me stay on the bus. Once I went to the right stop, everything worked perfectly. The hop-on hop-off system is convenient, the buses are comfortable, and it’s a great way to move around Belém without rushing or walking too much. Overall, a solid option to explore Belém in an easy and relaxed way.
This "Hop On Hop Off" tour was a best way for us to enjoy seeing Lisbon. We enjoyed the various stops and restaurant visited on the route.
Bought the 2 tickets for the November the 9, we never even ended up getting on a bus since no bus ever came. We ended up driving around the city in a big van ourselves, which was not great, but one thing to notice, we never saw a yellow bus, anywhere in the city, not even by the tourist spots, so maybe they don’t really have any buses. I’ll now contact them to cancel my tickets and get the money back, since we never activated them. I hope they will at least pay us back, as it is said online.
We bought tickets for the Yellow Bus Lisbon tour for myself, my wife, and our two young children (3 years and 18 months). The first bus of the day was already delayed, which wasn’t a great start, but things got much worse. After stopping at Belém Tower, we waited for over an hour and no bus ever arrived. We eventually had to take public transport back ourselves. There was no communication, no staff around to help, and no sign of when (or if) another bus would come. With two small children, this was incredibly frustrating and stressful. A total waste of money and time – definitely wouldn’t recommend this tour to anyone.
It was good to have a tour of part (Belem) of the city. There are times where the audio was out of sync with where the bus actually was. I wish it was more clear that this was only one of the lines available & was expecting all lines were accessible on this ticket.
Terrible! Bus is very few. You end up wasting time waiting. No staff to ask for questions in most of the stops. Get the red bus!!!!!!
The bus was clean and the headsets were clear. While the Belem tour through the historical district was good, we should have known that we could not also do the other yellow bus tours on one ticket. Next time I would pick the red bus which has 3 routes included on one ticket to see more of the city.
Choose the red buses, much more frequent! We were slightly surprised at the unfriendliness of the driver with the couple before us when we boarded and bought our tickets. Maybe my attempts at speaking Portuguese softened her. It was a very hot day in June and we kept seeing red busses drive past whenever we stopped. Then the next day we wanted to take another tour, but I had left my ticket at the hotel and the girl at the start station in very rude terms told us (we heard this for the first time) that you need that ticket. The code on your mobile phone, which you use to get the ticket, is, in her words, worth nothing after you draw the ticket.
Some drivers were friendly and cooperative, while one other driver in particular was rule and unhelpful.
This wasn’t my favorite hop-on-off experience. Didn’t love the areas we went thru and when we did actually hop off, it took forever for another bus to come to that area that we ended up getting an uber back. :-( I would recommend the smaller buses to go into more charming areas.
Take the red hop on hop off bus. Time tables listed online for the yellow bus are not accurate. We waited 45 min to an hour every time we went to the bus stop, and watched 4-5 red hop on hop off busses pass while we waited. Regretted our choice in tour your company all day as we spent nearly half of it watching traffic pass rather than site seeing :( The audio guide was also so basic and average in information. Most of the time it was just blasting music in a variety of languages.
I would NOT recommend this experience. The busses came incredibly infrequently and there was no reliable time table. We ended up needing to take taxis to see the things we wanted to see. I suggest booked the red bus (different company instead). We saw them drive past super frequently. Very disappointing experience and a waste of money and energy (spent a lot of time waiting).
It was ok. We booked from our cruise. 25 minute walk to first stop from cruise terminal. Went on a Sat so sights were crowded and backed up. Good way to see sights and locations so you can visit when you have more time.
We did the Belem tour. We found this experience to be nerve racking. First off we took an Uber to a site listed on the sheet of places we would see. When we got there, we found no Yellow Bus signs indicating the bus would stop. We asked several people if they knew where the bus would stop and they said no. We asked one of the Tuk Tuk drivers (there are millions of these around) and he said we were far from where we needed to be and that if we took a one hour tour with him (old town) then he would take us to where we could catch the Yellow Bus. So we did do the Tuk Tuk driver’s tour and it was very good. I recommend this for sure. Once we got to the new site, we still ended up walking a good mile to the stop. My husband uses a cane and has bad knees and this did not settle well with him. We finally got on the bus and did a complete round. All in all, we saw many sites in Lisbon and would probably recommend the Yellow Bus line. There is also a CitySightseeing bus and it looked like they may have more buses and may be easier to find them.
