The venue was nice, seating was good, food was excellent and the music and the singers were exceptional. Fado although it is about sadness in reality is a fun, enjoyable and entertaining experience. We truly enjoyed it. We also did a short night tour which we very much enjoyed and we learned a lot from our night tour guide too!
We very much enjoyed the tour guide, the dinner show and the food. Everyone was professional and kind.
This tour was a really great experience. 1/1 guide with some scenic stops along the route to the restaurant and Fado music. Lovely evening. Our guide Patrick was fantastic.
Loved the informative and visually breath-taking tour of the Alfama district provided by our driver, Joao. My girlfriend and I enjoyed the emotional fado music performance, and the food exceeded expectations, and was delicious. Joao was fantastic - what a wonderful person!
Great experience from beginning to end! Tour was informative, show was great, and food amazing. Highly recommended.
They never showed up and said we didn’t have a reservation- I have their confirmation number and. Viator’s confirmation number. This is despicable!.
This is a wonderful cultural experience for people who enjoy music. Our guide/driver, Patrick, was friendly and informative. We totally enjoyed our tour, dinner, and fado evening
Our guide was nice but it was a very boring tour! Did not tell you that there were multiple steps!!!! Not a lighted tour either just not fun or a good time. Restaurant did not get one of our parties meal and never brought it. Would not really recommend it.
Our first night in Lisbon and we wanted to get right into the experience. This tour is a great way to do that! Our guide was great and we really got to see a lot in the few hours we were with him. I wish I could recall his name because he deserves to be recognized. Viator is a great tour group and every tour we’ve done with them has been fantastic. We have taken 5 tours with them and have 3 more booked for this summer. Don’t miss out on a knowledge, reputable and professional tour.
This was a great way to experience Fado and get introduced to the center of Lisbon. Our guide (Ougo - spelling might be wrong) was excellent and informative. He described the highlights of the old city and we made 2 stops to see the views and get some photos. The Fado show was good, the singers and musicians very good and our table was placed perfectly for us. The food was good but not outstanding, but the service was great.
Fado singing was great. Food so so. Guide (Hugo) to get there and back was excellent. Yadyyadyyada…yadyyadyyada…yadyyadyyada.
We were picked up at our hotel and given a tour of some of the city overlooks before we went to the restaurant. This is not a touristy place so you can enjoy the music without crowds. The food was good too.
We had a wonderful experience. Hugo picked us up promptly, gave us a lovely tour of Lisbon and gave us suggestions on where to see the NYE fireworks. The dinner and Fado show were a nice window onto local culture. Even though traffic back to our hotel was awful because of the holiday, Hugo’s local knowledge got us back as quickly as possible, and with entertaining stories en route. We would highly recommend.
Live Fado music and dinner. You are picked up at your hotel and given a short tour on the way to the restaurant. We enjoyed all
The night started with our guide, Joao, giving us a wonderfully interesting cultural tour of Alfama, which was really enjoyable. He answered all our questions and gave us a great summation of the country's history. Dinner and our Fado show, which featured 3 different singers throughout the night was simply spectacular. The food was superb, and the performances were both moving and entertaining. I would highly recommend this tour, along with our tour guide, Joao, who made our evening extra special with his commentary and thoughtful insights.
Dinner and the restaurant were lovely. The fado singers were so soulful and wonderful! We had a fabulous time, quite a unique experience!
Our guided was very informative. The Fado was very enjoyable. We would recommend this experience. Thank you
Everything was spot on. Picked up on time. Very attentive and knowledgeable guide. Great tour lovely venue excellent food. The Fado music was terrific. One of our best night out.
The guide Joao was punctual, very attentive and had excellent knowledge of Lisbon and history of fado. Our group all spoke Portuguese which made it very easy to communicate. The dinner and fado was sxcellent and the service outstanding. It was a very memorable evening. I had a 90 year old uncle with limited mobility and the guide was very patient and accomodating.
Our guide was very thorough and helpful! The food was very good! The singers were ok! I did not care for the location of the show!
I love Viator tours. They take you to many fantastic locations. and truly let you experience the city you are visiting - its history, customs, and traditions, such as Fad. The performers were wonderful. Our tour guide Patrick explained how Fado is a part of Portugal’s history. He also took us on tours of cathedrals, streets, monuments, and we stopped at locations where we took beautiful pictures. Patrick was a great tour guide!!
This was a very enjoyable evening. Our driver Hugo took us around Lisbon, mostly in the Alfama district, taken to a beautiful overlook to see panoramic view of Lisbon. The Fado show and dinner were excellent! The restaurant was beautiful. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Fabulous experience! The show was great, the staff was very courteous and the food was delicious! A Must See!
Great music with great introduction to Fado by Joao. Our food was good and our group of three couples was just the right size. Memorable experience!
Our tour guide was wonderful! We ended up with a private show as a large group canceled. Dinner was great and singers/guitar players were very entertaining.
The included meal and the Fado presentation will always be very memorable for us, good food, great hosts and some great music. Special mention for our guide “Patrick” great guy with some excellent interpersonal skills.
Excellent dinner and singers. Met some wonderful people since this was a small group experience. Highly recommended for a chance to see and hear authentic Fado singers.
I read the reviews about the slow service but when we arrived at 8:30 our dinner was served almost at 11. It will be nice if the singer will tell us what the songs are about. The night tour was just a drive through town. No stops. But at 12:30 we already did not care about anything.
Touring historic parts of the city were very interesting. And Joao our tour guide gave us very special attention throughout the evening. But the Fado dinner show was beyond belief and any expectation. The restaurant owner, Antonio, welcomed us to his establishment with loving care. We ate a superb meal and then were treated to some of the best Fado music I've ever heard. It was an amazing experience. If you don't partake in an evening of Fado, then you haven't seen Lisbon. Between Joao and Antonio, my family and I enjoyed a great evening of delicious food, friendly conversation, and fascinating Fado. It was amazing beyond belief. Words fail me to describe my complete satisfaction. What an evening! Wonderful! Amazing!
This combination of sightseeing by car and dinner with Fado was worth the price but had a varied level. The one-hour sightseeing was highly informative and covered a lot in a brief time. The food in the restaurant was very traditional and an experience for those who are interested in genuine local food. I am not one of them and that means that I thought that it was dull and tasteless. The fado singer was a young woman and an older man. The woman had two sessions and she was the highlight of the experience. She was extraordinarily talented and could take remarkably high tones and really express the despair and sadness of the fado.
The Night Tour and Fado show were what I would call "average". The restaurant they took us to had us sitting in the way back. We could hear fine, but I had a very hard time seeing the singers. Also, we only had a choice of two dishes. We saw others in the restaurant with dinners that looked much more appealing than what we had, but they weren't an option for us. The reason I'm giving it four stars is due to our tour guide, Jaoa. He was amazing. I left my phone in the vehicle at the end of the night and didn't realize it until after he dropped us off. We were able to get in touch with him because my husband is resourceful. Jaoa found my phone. He let us know he would bring it back into the city in the morning. Long story short - he did. He talked with our tuk-tuk driver (who was also amazing) and they made arrangments to meet us. Not only did Jaoa return my phone, but he had the same model and charged it for me!!! Who even does that?!?! Jaoa went above and beyond to say the least and I couldn't thank him enough.
Tour was not necessary and made us the last group to sit so we could barely see the performance. We were also served the last. The place was very interesting. The host was charming, the Fado was beautiful, the food was ok.
The lady singing in the Resturant had an amazing voice.. I liked the description of history through cartoon I didn’t like the food
Fado Show was nice, the dining experience/food was TERRIBLE. The food wasn’t good. Additionally there were only two servers. It appeared the main focus of the two servers was clearing off tables. Aside from it taking them over 40 minutes to bring us our entree and that was after complaining. Who knows when they would have brought us our food hadI I not complained. I would note, everyone else in the room had finished their dinner and dessert. As for the night tour, it wasn’t much. Before the Fado Show/dinner, the driver took us to a lookout point and the front of a church. Not much of a night tour tour if you ask me!
The driver/guide, Cristina was most helpful and professional and helped workout our pickup location. We are 3 couples, a total of 6 Adults. The actual restaurant left much to be desired. The food was of poor quality and it really felt as if our table was completely ignored. Everyone else had their food and their plates were being cleared before we even had our food. The singers were wonderful, but the food and the service were not. We paid $268 US Dollars per couple, or over $800 US Dollars for this tour and it was at most worth $80 per couple or $240 US Dollars. To say we were incredibly disappointed is an understatement. This was my first tour booked through Viator and if this is representative of the quality and vetting they do of the providers and their services it is my last.
Cristina took great care of us in terms of driving and explaining everything. The local meal was very good and filled me up. The Fado show was also fun to listen to.
João was the kindest and most amazing tour guide I could've asked for. What was supposed to be a private tour ended up being a private tour as the other party canceled, and João really committed to make it a special night. You get to see the best places in Lisbon, while enjoying the beautiful sunset. Afterwards you're headed to the most magical and authentic restaurant in a hidden street where Antonio goes above and beyond to make the dinner and Fado experience an unforgettable one. Dinner was delicious, very generous and the Fado show was absolutely magical. Thank you João and Antonio! You made a Colombian solo traveler absolutely happy!
The food, music and atmosphere were all excellent. Driver picked up and dropped us off at our hotel.
I can’t speak highly enough of this tour. Our guide was very professional. He was great at communicating our pick up spot. He picked us up seamlessly/on-time, even though our airbnb was a little hard to find. I didn’t see many reviewers comment on the actual dinner/food so I thought I’d provide some insight. The restaurant was beautiful with a peaceful ambiance. The food was OUTSTANDING some of the best we had on our trip. Definitely come hungry and ready to eat!! I’m not sure if the menu varies daily or if they accommodate any dietary restrictions so please keep that in mind. First, we had a choice of red or white wine, they had soft drinks for non-drinkers. Next, they brought out fresh bread with olives and crab/tuna dips. Next, we had a big bowl of caldo verde which was delicious. The main course was a choice of a cod fish dish or a shrimp/fish dish or a pork dish. Lastly, we had a crème brûlée for dessert. Courses were spread out perfectly with fado in-between. Our tour guide drove us to a few beautiful spots in the city with some background on each, one of which might be the most instagrammable view in Portugal, maybe even top 10 in Europe in my opinion. One thing I might mention is that the restaurant/fado setting is very intimate and you do sit with whoever is in your group. This could be good or bad depending on who you luck out with in your tour. My husband and I only had two others on our tour and when we arrived the restaurant wasn’t too full, so they did offer us a table alone or with the others. As to not offend anyone we just agreed to sit as a group. The two other ladies in our group had only arrived in Lisbon earlier that day having traveled for two full days non-stop…they were exhausted and kept falling asleep during the experience. Then, one of them accidentally knocked her soda across the table all over me. Then, they asked to leave right after dessert even though there was more fado. My husband and I felt obligated to leave too since the tour guide drives everyone back together. All in all, we had a great time. Our tour guide really made the experience worth it. Just keep in mind the potential awkwardness of sitting with others in a close setting.
Joao our driver was amazing! He took us to see a beautiful sunset before the Fado Show and dinner. Fado singers were excellent and the food was fantastic! The owner/waiter/singer provided truly exceptional service and food and wine!
It was a memorable evening for several reasons. Our guide, Joao, gave us some interesting historical info on the many unique communities that he took us through. The night lights of Lisbon were beautiful. The Fado music by Marie and her group was beautiful. Wonderful guitar playing and singing. Antonio, the owner, also sang and got the people participating at one point. The food, Antonio, was superb. Some of the best we’ve had here. The restaurant had a wonderful feeling and was beautiful. It was the Guitaeras de Lisboa. We went up a narrow street, turned into an alleyway and walked into this gorgeous restaurant, totally unsuspecting. Nice surprise. Highly recommend the tour.
Our guide João was amazing telling all stories about Lisbon and it's history, and bringing us via historical places of the town. Fado show was unusual for us and therefore very exciting. And of course people - very friendly and helpful - as every very in Portugal
The guide picked us up from hotel, had a very good knowledge of the city and give a lot of interesting facts and information during the evening. He was very helpful and friendly. he must it so much more special. This was an awesome evening and everything was perfect. Thanks a lot.
Christina was a great tour guide - she took us to different vista points at night which made us appreciate the city of Lisbon in a different light. She was great in that she listened to what we wanted to see and do after the Fado Concert. WE appreciated her time and her knowledge.
João was a brilliant guide, contacted us beforehand to let us know he would be our driver. Was on time and give us a short tour before the dinner, explaining a bit about the history of the park and the view from the top down Avenida da liberdade at night stunning. Visited the time our market and a few other look out spot and then to the small family run restaurant for the Fado. The host was friendly and made sure you enjoyed the experience. The food was good and the show excellent, it was like opera you don't need to know the words to feel the emotion in the song. The tour after was amazing, due to the late hour the streets were empty and Joao took us on a street tour of Lisbon showing us all the different areas and tourist spots, giving us a brief history of each spot and also the history of the churches, convents etc. we passed. The night view over Lisbon from the castle was amazing. We arrived back at our hotel around 1 am after having a lovely time with João.
Excellent musicians who were very entertaining. Very friendly guide. Food and service were good. Recommended.
Joao was my guide and he was so funny and entertaining. I was the only person on my tour and with the extra time he gave me a guided tour of the Alfama and Belem district. The food at the restaurant was good. I had the bacalhau which was delicious and the female Fado singer was amazing!
Drive around hilly Liabon at night was really nice and scenery from several view prints were beautiful. Fado show and dinner were also wonderful. We enjoyed the night a lot.
Joâo was excellent. He spoke good English and he went the extra mile to bring us to experience the local culture. Overall, we had a great time and it was a well organised tour.
