Bianca was a delightful tour guide with a wealth of knowledge about the food and area. We throughly enjoyed our experience.

Itinerary
Located in the city-center & known as the historic cradle of Lisbon, the district of Alfama has kept its antiquated charm. Alfama combines the cuisine of the land and the sea. Stopping at some unique places, I will show you how to live like a real local during this walking gourmet experience! The restaurants we visit are very different one from the other, so after my experience you'll have a great overview of what our food scene is like nowadays!
Our meeting point is one the most beautiful in all of Lisbon!
Discover the rich history of Alfama through historical anecdotes and monuments like the famous Chafariz d'El Rei.

Excellent and absolutely amazing food tour! I've done many around the world and this is the best I've ever done by far! They show you local places, not the big places you see on YouTube and Google and you'll see the authentic Lisbon. It was actually relaxing besides the walking, having wine at the different spots and you can tell the quality in both the food and wine ingredients. Francisco was the beat guide ever! So warm and so kind. I learned so so so much from him and I hope to have friends take his tour one day. Thank you Francisco from Cleveland!
My husband and I had the best time!! We met wonderful people who were on the tour with us. Our guide Francisco was Fantastic!! So kind, funny, and knowledgeable:)
Our tour with Bianca as our guide was amazing! She was a wealth of information about Lisbon, its history, and its food. We were also encouraged to ask any and all questions regarding the area in general and Lisbon in particular. Such a great tour and guide- I would recommend this to anyone visiting Lisbon. Well worth it!!
My first ever food tour. My first time in Europe which means it was my first time in Lisbon. Francisco was open, easy going, friendly, attentive, and informative. I’m not a picky eater nor afraid to try anything new at least once. All the tastings were great. It was great to be in a group. It kept the atmosphere lively and warm. It definitely left me with a positive experience in Lisbon, Portugal.
What an amazing tour! Bianca was so informative and friendly. The food was a wide variety from fish to meats to dessert. Bianca also took the time to ensure I was included in the wine/beer pairings even though I don’t drink alcohol. (Choose the pear juice if given the choice…delicious) I’d take this tour again and recommend it to anyone visiting Lisbon!
Without fail I always take one of these Walking Food/Wine Tours when doing European travel. These tours enable you to focus on one specific area of a city and experience their traditional cuisine. This tour focused on the Amalfa area, the original part of Lisbon. Our guide was Bianca and she was FANTASTIC. Bianca did her logistics planning very well to allow us to experience multiple different dishes and wine in this so beautiful area of Lisbon, and did so with passion. In fact, Bianca had to navigate through Italian, Spanish, French and English speaking guests, all of which she did with ease, and inviting all of us to try to communicate with each other. I highly recommend this tour as it will give you a base knowledge of the area so you can go back and further explore on your own.
Bianca was an amazing guide and gave us an incredible food tour of Lisbon! She was so knowledgeable about the history of the area and introduced us to tons of fantastic local bites. We left full, happy, and having learned so much. Highly recommend!
Lots of food and drink. Tried many new dishes. Heard stories of the natives. Happy to take a long walk back to hotel
Our first food tour, and the best decision we made in Lisbon! Bianca was absolutely wonderful-funny, warm, and full of fascinating stories. She made everyone feel welcome, and we loved every minute! We discovered amazing places and tasted so many delicious Portuguese specialties. Great food, great company, and unforgettable memories. Highly recommend! ❤️
Our guide, Francisco, was excellent - very informative and personable, and the tastings were varied. We went to multiple locations, all within pretty easy walking distance from the starting point. We had just come off of a cruise where we did a couple tapas tastings along with a walking tour, and those were not nearly as good as what we experienced, and for a lot higher price! We did not need dinner after we were done. Well worth the experience!
Francisco was a lovely guide, great knowledge, well spoken, and took the time to speak with everyone in the group during our evening. Would recommend this tour to anyone that wants to understand Portugals food scene. I also recommend doing the tour early so that you know what to look for during the rest of your stay.
Terrific guide Francisco was fun and informative! Tastings were all delicious! It's a lot of walking in steep steps and hills.
It was a really great tour. A bit of walking involved but so worth it. I met some wonderful people, I highly enjoyed it!
We had a wonderful time on the Lisbon Small-Group Food tour!!! Bianca was very fun and knowledgable - a perfect guide! We loved the restaurant choices and the great range of food and drink we sampled. We've been on many food tours in different cities and highly recommend this tour if you are in Lisbon!
Bianca our tour guide was delightful and very knowledgeable and engaging. I would highly recommend this tour It was the perfect size The restaurants we visited were all local family owned gems. We really got a taste of Portuguese cuisine.
Highly recommended. Substantial tasting and food and drinks. Our guide was the best, Bianca. We got to go to four local tabernas which was specials Pick tours with Treasures of Lisbon
Enjoyed the food and drink menu variety. The tour guide Francisco was very knowledgeable, explained our food composition, how it was used for specific occasions, and spoke excellent English. Make certain everyone was doing well.
Some good food at the end, first three were fails. Francisco our guide tried hard but was not very personable and kind of lost me when he said he’s not from the area. Previous Viator tours were great because the guides have been locals with friends along the way, a personal experience where we met the families who owned and ran the restaurants. This was not like this. And we sat too long, bored waiting to go to the next stop. Some of the food was cold (fries with cod pretty ick), but the octopus salad and cheese tray, pastries and cherry liquor in chocolate cups very good. Not engaging, just wanted it to be over. Sorely disappointed as it seemed we were just sitting in random hot restaurants with strangers and mediocre food
This was a great tour. Bianca was AMAZING. She did such a great job explaining the history of the Almafa district, the history of the restaurants, the food and the wine we were drinking. It was great to have a historical reference it really helped us to understand Portugal better. All the restaurant owners were friendly. We even went back to one of the restaurants for dinner. If you are a foodie and/or like history, you will enjoy this tour.
Bianca was our guide and she was wonderful! We got to go to five different spots and the walking was pretty easy given the hills in Lisbon. We sampled several delicious traditional dishes accompanied by wine (and one beer) along the way and the servings were generous. More importantly, the hosts were all family run businesses with long standing roots and traditions in Lisbon. We got thorough explanations of everything we were trying, with a side of history from Bianca, who had quite the sense of humor and got us to play a few low pressure games. At the end we stopped at an authentically curated gift shop with locally made items (Patria Rustica) along with a taste of cherry liquor in a dark chocolate cup. I highly recommend this tour!
This was an enjoyable, informative, and delicious way to explore the Alfama. Our guide Francisco was charming and knowledgeable. He made sure everyone in our small group felt included, encouraging us to tell our stories and share our travel experiences in Portugal. The food, wine, and conversation flowed. What a great way to spend part of the day in Lisbon!
This is our second time doing this tour. We did it back in 2019 and enjoyed it so much that we decided to do it again when we visited this August.
Bianca was amazing! She has a background in giving historical tours so combined with that and the food, she really painted a full picture of the food, history, and culture of Alfama! The tour supports all family local owned restaurants and the food was delicious! Highly recommend!
Bianca, the tour guide was amazing, extremely knowledgeable and made the time fun and very memorable. The number and variety of tastings was great and we simply had a really enjoyable time!! Make sure you go hungry!!
What a fabulous walking and tasting experience! If you’re on the fence, do it! Our guide Francisco was amazing! Knowledgeable and you can tell he enjoys meeting new people, gathering insights and proud of what Lisbon has to offer in food, wine, and history. The walk wasn’t bad at all (knowing now that Lisbon is very hilly). Met a great group of travelers. Many laughs had. Just an awesome tour! And also perfect amount of time to explore!
This was a great tour. Our guide Bianca was knowledgeable and super charming. She quickly made the group feel comfortable. We had a great time tasting the wines and traditional dishes. We had loads to eat and were stuffed by the end of the tour. It was very good value.
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a truly unforgettable and authentic Portuguese experience! Our guide, Francisco, was absolutely fantastic. He was incredibly knowledgeable, informative, and thorough, while also bringing such great energy and enthusiasm to the experience. What really stood out was Francisco’s passion for Portuguese food, culture, and traditions. He shared so much insight into the history and traditions behind the foods we tasted, making the experience feel much more meaningful than simply a food tour. He also took the time to get to know each of the guests, which created such a warm, personal, and welcoming atmosphere. And, of course, the food was incredible! We sampled so many delicious traditional Portuguese specialties that we were definitely NOT hungry when we left! Thank you Francisco for a truly memorable experience!
Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly! The variety of food offerings was excellent and very much enjoyed! We did not feel rushed at all and appreciated the post-tour recommendations. Definitely come hungry to eat. Also to note, we received 18 food courses but did not stop at 18 restaurants
Can’t tell about the tour but I can say the company is excellent. We had to cancel last minute because of an injury that morning. They were very gracious and gave us a partial refund that they didn’t have to do - they had pre-paid for the food and made accommodations for my wife’s gluten allergy. They even followed up to see how I was doing. Wonderful people.
A wonderful taste of the local cuisine. Our guide Francisco was fabulous. He was knowledgeable and friendly.
One of if not the best food tour I have participated in. Group size was perfect. Guide was incredible. Food was authentic and excellent. By the end of tour, a full meal was basically completed.
Fantastic guide: informed, very personable, friendly, considerate. Food and drink were delicious and plentiful. The ambiance of Alfama was delightful.
Awesome tour!!!! Our tour guide was awesome
Great selection of restaurants and bars . Our tour guide was informative and very friendly . She showed us around the area and explained historical sites.
Great introduction of traditional Portuguese food mixed with some more familiar options. Be prepared for many steps (mostly downhill). We enjoyed getting to experience the smaller family run restaurants out of the center city crowds. We had a great time and the location is perfect for after tour strolling.
Fantastic variety of food and drink! Francisco provided information on a bunch of historical and cultural aspects of Lisbon and Portugal while we enjoyed the tasting.
So worth it !! It’s was the perfect food and wine experience !
What a fantastic tour with the lovely Francisco! We started off in a brilliant spot and then wandered our way through the old streets of Alfama, picking up fascinating little snippets of local life along the way, as well as some very handy tips for finding our way around Lisbon after the tour. And the food… absolutely delicious! The portions were spot on — generous enough to leave us feeling nicely satisfied, but not so much that we needed to be rolled home. There was just enough room to enjoy every stop, which is quite the achievement when there’s so much lovely food involved! We came away with full bellies, lots of great memories and a real taste of Lisbon. Thank you so much, Francisco, for making our Lisbon experience extra special!
Fantastic food and drink. Well Organised and great afternoon. Guide Francisco was brilliant
Our tour guide, Federico,, was fantastic, great personality & fun to be with. The food was interesting & he explained it all. We had a really nice group of people from all over & it was fun chatting with them throughout. Highly recommend. Also, the meeting point was easy to find.
We loved our food tour with Bianca! The food and drinks were high quality and delicious. We learned a lot about Lisbon and tried many (new to us) Portuguese foods.
Bianca took us on an amazing food tour! The food and drinks were high quality and delicious. We learned a lot from Bianca and tried foods that we’ve never had before. Highly recommend this tour!
This tour was amazing! It was small and personal, the food was great and you could tell that our tour guide Francisco has a very close relationship with the restaurant owners, as he would jump in and help them and showed them so much respect. Francisco was a phenomenal asset to this tour. He shared so much interesting history, personal stories, answered so many questions from us, and really made the tour exceptional. I recommend this food tour 100%.
excellent guide, interesting foods
Francisco gave an amazing tour. So informative, interesting and engaging. I like he really focused on the authentic Portuguese experience.
Best food tour in Lisbon. Only local food establishments and food.. Guides are awesome and knowledgeable. This is our second time taking this tour.
Great tour to learn about Portugald's food and wine. The guide did a fantastic job making the total strangers feel like friends.
Francisco did an amazing job on this tour! We’ve done a few food tours in Europe and always enjoy them, but Francisco went above and beyond in terms of continually engaging with the guests, making sure we were all happy, well watered, and enjoyed himself, even giving us personalized recommendations at the end. Bravo! The food itself was great, and more than enough to feel plenty full. The wines and foods felt local and of a good traditional variety, and they were able to accommodate our disinterest in red meat with alternative seafood dishes that were delicious. The tour definitely made us feel more comfortable with Lisbon, welcomed, and better acquainted with local specialities!
Ruth’s was great! She was knowledgeable and easy to talk to. This tour is great for groups and solo travelers. She makes everyone feel welcome. All of the food stops are family owned which enhanced the experience.
