The staff in Lisbon are very helpful and kind. They helped really much on my training and how to operate the vehicle. The vehicle is cool and lovely. The navigation and audio guide are professional. We had enjoyed the driving a lot.

Not really what we expected. We booked a 3 hr tour but were only able to complete 1 hour of it. The car completely shut down on us twice and we had to remove keys and restart the car. That caused the audio to go out of Bluetooth and the only way to reconnect was a password protection so only staff may do so. We could no longer hear the audio. We ended the tour after the second shut down because there was no point and we couldn't hear from the tablets audio. The seats were extremely uncomfortable. It didnt seem like the car was made for cobblestone roads and would make loud banging sounds on the rocks. Overall not a great experience. Staff was nice though, so no fault to them.
Awesome experience! I love that they had different routes. The tour was very informative with plenty of spots to take in or stop and take a picture. A great way to start your trip in Lisbon and get to know different neighborhoods. Highly recommend!
I feel like the cars are not made for tall people (I’m 170cm), it was horrible trying to fit my legs, driving was impossible. I could barely walk when I stood up at the viewpoint because I was hurting so bad. Their cars are not practical ! I could not seat all the way back because the car would beep, you have to be exactly in the middle of the seat for it to stop. We were in front of the shop at the beginning of our tour, when I pointed that out the guide suggested to give me a pillow that I never had. The seat SHOULD be adjustable considering every body is different. I expected more as of the visit and the 2 spots we went to. Our car had broken down halfway through our time, I was around 4Pm, it just wouldn’t start. ( the motor voyant was orange and wouldn’t go away even after turning on and off the car ). The car had to be taken to the mechanic and we had to wait for his colleague to bring us another car. ( we went shopping at the souvenir boutique down the city in the meantime ) The new car was so different than the first one. On top of the problem with my seat, the windshield had a line so my vision was restricted. My friend tried to sit at my place to understand and she said she would absolutely could not drive because of how difficult it was. It was so unfortunate this could’ve been an enjoyable experience in Lisbon. When arrived I tried to give feedback, the guide asked us if we needed to use the restroom and that we could talk after, when we got back in the front he offered us a plant as a gift and ignored my request of having a conversation about what happened during our activity. We paid 125€ for this, it is very over priced I do not recommend so I ask for a refund !
Fabulous 2 hrs of getting around Ali’s in on a limited time schedule. Bea & Lucia made this experience so easy, informative and super fun!! Lovely ladies with great personalities, engaging and sincere. We loved our Spinach car ride with the route all played out with a great narration. FABULOUS 2 hrs!!! Thank you ladies for making our day a memorable one.
Great day! From the friendliness of the staff, to the process from a to z, to the communication throughout our day these people are wonderful and we would recommend them any day to anyone! Cars were great to drive, not that comfortable haha, but we stopped at a few tourist places which helped take a little break from the cars. We had a little incident with taking a wrong turn with the little cars (we had 3 cars) and when we called the operator to explain, they were the best to deal with! We also had an issue with one of the car upon leaving and we turned around and they made sure we got another better functioning car no questions asked. You can tell they take pride in making sure it's a great experience all around. Exceptional customer service all around for them.
Grab an extra pillow to sit on as the streets are very bumpy being cobblestones. We did the street art tour first, which was very lacking so switched to the history tour. Some directions were down one way streets the wrong way so we got off track about 3 times. You need to go very slow if you want to take photos as there really is no place to easily park. Driver doesn’t get much of a chance to see things as they drive crazily in Lisbon! Sights are quite neat to see though and we felt famous cuz everyone was looking at us in this crazy car. Needs a strong pair of arms to drive it. We used all 3 hours and could have used more time but it was hot and we were done bouncing around. Staff was wonderful and flexible and the treats at the end were lovely!
We were on a business event with our company and we did a tour with the self-driving car. Fernando was out guide and he was the best, 5-star experience!! Estávamos num evento de negócios com nossa empresa e fizemos um tour com o self-car. O Fernando foi o guia e ele foi a excelente!! 5 estrelas!!
This was the worst experience ever. The cars were hard to drive, the streets of Lisbon were confusing. The staff didn’t explain things well. The screen for navigation blanked out on us. Do not do it.
A really fun and exciting way to experience the city. Cars are small so don’t try this if you are taller than 6ft and larger than 100kg’s 🙈. Also, the roads are bumpy with little car suspension so be ready!
Incredibly dangerous and incredibly disappointing! Despite looking forward to this activity, it quickly turned into an extremely stressful and frightening experience. The tablet which provides directions crashed on a number of occasions (a recurring due to heat according to the staff), which left us in very busy roads without any direction - eventually requiring us to use Maps on our phone to get back back to the Spinach centre. We found ourselves in busy roads, and very vulnerable to oncoming traffic due to being unable to get back onto the app for directions. When we made a complaint afterwards, we were just offered a further two hours for free. This was a totally inadequate option, why would we want to re-experience such an ordeal? I would be keen to get financial compensation, given it cost €95 overall.
The spinach cars themselces are so small. If you're taller than 5'7 you will have a hard time getting in and out and its so cramped while driving. The seats are hard and on the cobble stone roads it hurts both your back side and your back. There is no power steering either so hard to manoeuvre. The ipad provided is not visible due to the sun so realistically you have no idea where you're going. Fun experience nonetheless but don't get to see much along the way.
Gui was a fantastic guide and very informative, great tour around lisbon with lots of sightseeing! was able to stop and get out to take a closer look at the amazing stops. Again gui the tour guide did make this a very pleasant trip with knowledge and humour. would definitely tour again and ask for GUI!!!!
Awesome, fun, & informative. The guide Jeff Tomas was patient and knowledgeable about the landmarks we visited
Just do it…..you will have great fun on this little green machine. Fantastic way to see Lisbon in a few hours.
We had the best time driving around Lisbon!!! We got to see so many places we wouldn’t have got to see if we were walking. We booked the car for 3hrs which was a great amount of time, we could’ve kept going we were having so much fun!!! The car is easy to drive and has a guided tour with a map on a iPad which was simple follow around. We did most of the tours in the time we had it for. We got some great recommendations from Jenny at the tour place and we stopped in at LX Factory for some lunch which had some great restaurants to choose from. We would definitely recommend doing this tour to explore around Lisbon. Great value for money and worth every moment!
The staff were very kind, welcoming and understanding. Nonetheless, these kinds of cars are not mean for a cobblestone city like Lisbon. The cars rattle, make noise, hit many holes, and are tough to operate. Other drivers on the roads were always angry at us for not going their speed, yet the Spinach cars are slow and hard to operate (despite seemingly simple instructions). We took the navigation route to Belem, and had to drive down a busy urban road with traffic, wind, and angry drivers. Seats are not very comfortable and the windshield gets in the way of visibility.
it’s very difficult to drive this car uphills, after you accelerate the car take a few seconds to move, if you are in a hill the car moves backwards, a few inches can be dangerous because the trolley is moving around the city. At some point a decide to stopped the car and call them to get the car. The tour guides are very helpful, professional. It’s my personal experience for others can be fun.
What a trip. I could never have been the driver because I was too scared. You need to be sure handed with a small car and not afraid in the Lisbon traffic. I was terrified. It’s fun but I also think it’s dangerous. Would I do it again? No. Am I glad I did it? Yes. It’s not for the faint hearted.
Cool car & cool idea but the sat nav was ever so slightly lagging behind - meaning we missed a turn early & its wrecked our entire experience. Most roads were one way, or no left turn so we found ourselves going around in circles trying to get back on track. The car itself is fun to drive but slow on the throttle which annoyed other traffic behind. Its also pretty hard to steer & 3 point turns were really tricky! We also found it gard to find a parking spot to take a break - all be it we did this on a bank holiday when the city was busy. Other city traffic & Tuks don't really like you! Staff are really nice & overall, its good value. Just don't make a wrong turn early or your in trouble! They also could make it a bit quicker off the throttle- although i think they had to change this previously as it was too jumpy.
My friends and I loved it, Gui & Ricardo welcomed us with open arms and gave us a very clear explanation of everything. We loved touring through the streets in our little cars, 10/10 would recommend!
We both had a fabulous jaunt around Lisbon, especially my husband. It was a bit miserable and we expected rain so instead of taking the electric talking car we had the petrol "go-kart", which had a roof and unfortunately was noisier and heavier to drive. It didn't bother my husband - he had the best fun. I thoroughly enjoyed myself as well. So many peopl,e waved and took our photo. We felt very special. The staff were efficient and extremely helpful. I can highly recommend!
We had a tour with David and it was perfect, he was very friendly and explained about Lisbon history and some other aspects ! Very knowledgeable too. Hopefully we’ll be giving the Segway a try sometime later if we had time.
This was so much fun! We laughed so hard we cried! You go on a taking guided gps tour. It will talk to you and even play music depending where you are at. We did 2 hours so we were able to do 2 of the tours. You can stop whenever and wherever you want. We really enjoyed zipping around so only stopped once. Can get pretty bumpy on the cobblestone roads. Bea got us started and helped us choose our tour. Highly recommend!
Very unique experience in the spinach car, self guided tour on set routes around Lisbon. The carts themselves are very easy to drive and lots of fun, intuitive system for directions and lots of interesting information. Very good that you can stop wherever you like to explore, get food or drinks or whatever you want to do. Staff are very helpful if you need it.
It was an unique experience, we like it so much and I recommend you to ask about Eduard when you go he is a very professional person and gives us an additional time for free.
I have seen a lot of the city with the car and it is easy to drive. The instructor was very clear and helpful.
When visiting Pakruoje open air museum I remembered = there are no friends for colour and smell - only laughs
Vehicles are poorly maintained. They shake and rattle over the mostly cobblestone streets. We could not see the tablet screen due to the sun and spent most of the 2 hours lost and confused because we couldn’t find the starting point of the narrated paths.
It was a great experience to drive around Lisbon in the green cars, so much fun and a very nice way to explore Lisbon. We drove around on sunday morning, not to much traffic so that was also great and relaxed. I would really recomment to book this tour! Flavia gave great service to us.
Last week my friend and I did the Spinach experience and we loved it! Ricardo helped us very well, so we could hit the road easily. Thank you so much! Will definitely tell others about this great experience.
The most unique and fun way to see the city. Ricardo helped us pick which route was best to take. 10/10 recommend
Rodrigo and the rest of the team were outstanding. Explained everything and took care of us from start to finish. The GPS talking guide and routes were excellent and easy to follow. Outstanding experience that I’d highly recommend to anyone who likes autonomy and freedom. Don’t speed, relax and enjoy the beautiful city of Lisbon. Thanks Rodrigo
Worth every penny! Such a great experience. Would do this again in a heartbeat. Great way to get an overview of the city.
Despite the rain, we had a blast zipping around Lisbon in our Spinach! The audio cues were right on point and the information shared was interesting to learn about. It was nice to have choices of what parts of Lisbon we could tour. Definitely will do it again and do the other routes!
Very cool and different way to see the attractions of Lisbon. We did the 2 hour Belem tour. We stopped at the castle and decided to extend our tour by an hour we just called up and it was no problem to do so, very helpful and friendly staff shoutout to Bea & Hariana! Interactive tour aspect was very cool. Vehicle was clean and well maintained. Very reasonable hourly tour prices. Highly recommend spinach tours when visiting Lisbon!
Bea is the best employee! Give her a raise! Such a fun experience!! You can see the major sites and have fun driving and riding in the mini car - so unique!
The entire experience was great start to finish. Check in and out and car functionality were explained very well by Aderito. The narration via Bluetooth was great and at some times, hilarious , Full of surprises….. Music and sarcasm/wit. I would HIGHLY recommend this adventure !!t
A mixed experience. Go cars are in theory a great way to explore the city, especially if you fancy a break from walking the cobbled streets of Lisbon. We hired them as part of our long weekend girls break. However we had a few issues… 1. I was singled out and asked if I was pregnant. Oh the joy. “No mate I’ve just wolfed down a cheese toasty and I’m due on my period so don’t have the flat abdomen of an adonis, but sure let’s get personal about it shall we?” Staff tried to dig themselves out of a pit of shame but it was too late. The damage was done and my gaggle of female friends were all fuming. Maybe next time ask the WHOLE GROUP. Cheers. 2. For the above rudeness we were given an extra hour on the cars. Which would have been great had one of the cars not broken down on a busy main road, and it taken an hour for the staff to come and bring a new one… bye bye free hour. 3. The sat nav doesn’t track your movements automatically on the screen, so the “co-pilot” has to keep tapping the screen of the tablet and moving it along/rotating it to keep up. 4. The cars are able to park in motorbike bays for free… we didn’t see many. It would be better if the cars came with a car parking space permit so you could stop easily for a break/drink/viewpoint stop. 5. My wing mirrors were hanging on my a thread, and I mean hanging. Couldn’t see out of them. Pointless. 6. Some locals were a bit aggressive to my friends when they broke down in their car. I had been offended already that day so water off a ducks back when I got beeped, but it scared my friends a bit. I’m guessing some locals aren’t fans (understandably as the cars are significantly slower than the flow of traffic). Overall, we had a good laugh and it was nice driving around with our music on taking in the sites. But staff need training on realistic expectations of the female form post chow-down.
We had a blast! The staff was great and accommodating and made it even more fun. We went all around town, drawing attention and smiles/laughs from many tourists and locals who enjoyed watching us have such fun. We had a bit of trouble pairing, reading the gps at first. (I had to focus on the driving first of all, and my friend isn't as experienced in using a gps but we eventually got it). The old streets shook us up quite a bit, but we would definitely recommend this to others. If you are zeroed in on wanting the absolute best tour (and learning the most), maybe look for a good tour. But, for having a great time and getting the feel of the city, this was great.
The vehicle was in poor condition; the route was under construction which took up a lot of time (more than 30 minutes); promised traffic would clear, but it never let up; screen didn't work; throttle unresponsive; breaks unresponsive; several times the vehicle stopped responding and eventually needed assistance. Staff were kind, responsive and offered an Uber ride to reach our destination.
What an unexpectedly terrific way to see Lisbon! Our teenage sons loved it and we all enjoyed the fun, edgy commentary! Took a few minutes to get comfortable driving the vehicle but then it was really fun for the drivers and passengers alike. Highly recommend! Bea, who greeted us and set us on our way, could not have been friendlier or more enthusiastic… set a great tone for our adventure! We loved our booked hour so much we requested to keep out for a second hour and they were able to accommodate. Great concept, great experience, great fun!
The staff was very kind and helpful. The routes were very easy to follow. It was a very unique way to see Lisbon.
The 4 stars instead of 5 is only because it was not clearly mentioned that we need our driving license (or was it?) Anyway as I did not read it, they were kind enough to let me exchange to another experience. I chose the TukTuk and it was very nice 👍🏻
The company: Friendly. I didn’t know I needed my driving license (should be written clearer) so when I arrived without it they were okay with offering me something else to do. I chose the tuktuk. Raffaella is amazing! You can tell how much she’s in love with her city. She took us to the most amazing places and took pictures and videos of us. Strongly recommended if you want to see the most impo/beautiful places at the comfort of your seat. Enjoy. Best wishes, @destination_zainab
Absolutely loved it. Up there as a highlight of our 3 day trip. Hired the car, simple to drive, iPad satnav directions and about 4 different routes to choose from. A definite must do!
it was a fantastic experience! it is an excellent way to explore the city of lisbon in an alternative, green way and from a privileged view. The staff is fantastic and very knowledgeable. the Alfama tour is wonderful.. it deserves to be done. when i come back to lisbon i will definitely take him again.
5/5. David was so helpful when we arrived. He explained how to use the vehicle and the map. We had such a great time sightseeing Lisbon and the Belem area.
Super helpful friendly staff. Explained everything well and made sure we were good to go. We took the spinach which is electric so no noise issues. Only negative was a seriously aching bum after two hours in the spinach seat but our fault for not getting out enroute
I really say THREE stars- but the staff is AWESOME. However, this is for young people. We are in our 50s. So bumping around on cobblestone streets was not fun. BUT the good part, we got to see parts of the city we would not see- up the narrow streets. If you are adventurous and do not mind the feeling of four-wheeling in the city- sure. But would not do this event again- I would however use this groups fo something else- Just not our cup of tea.
