We enjoyed the port wine tasting. We sampled 3 wines with a different chocolate for each. The guide gave us an explanation of each one and how it was made.

Itinerary
Savour the timeless flavours of Port wine with a curated tasting at Taylor’s, one of the oldest and most prestigious founding Port houses, established in 1692. Located in the heart of Lisbon’s historic Alfama district, next to the Chafariz d’El Rei — the city’s first public fountain — Taylor’s offers a refined and memorable tasting experience that blends tradition, quality, and local charm. During the session, you’ll explore the unique characteristics of three distinctive Port styles: Chip Dry Extra Dry White, the original dry white Port known for its crisp and refreshing profile; Late Bottled Vintage (LBV), a rich and full-bodied wine first developed by Taylor’s in the 1970s; and 10-Year-Old Tawny, aged in seasoned oak casks to achieve a smooth, mellow complexity. To complete the experience, guests may choose between two pairing options: 1. A traditional Pastel de Nata, Portugal’s iconic custard tart; or 2. Three Vinte Vinte chocolate squares, offering a rich and artisanal chocolate pairing alternative. Whether you're a seasoned enthusiast or new to Port, this experience offers an elegant introduction to the depth and richness of Taylor’s heritage.

Tasting was nice, Pasteis de Nata were delicious. However, we expected to hear more about the history and process of the wine making than what was given. The tour was finished in a half an hour, it was not an hour as stated in the description
As a person that doesn't know much about wine, I was looking forward to sharing this experience with my partner. While the host seemed knowledgeable about the history and details of the ports, he was not very inviting at all. He almost seemed bothered by another tour. We did not stay for the entire event.
It was a really cute place with different variations to try. Smaller than expected but friendly staff. Did not take us an hour.
Our master of all things Taylor’s Port was informative and had a great sense of humour. We had never heard of white port before the tasting but with a little ice added to the port it became a totally different tasting sensation. Our guide did not rush us and we sipped and enjoyed the time spent there.
Amazing environment, storytelling and wines, of course. Also got lucky to get a good discount from Tripadvisor :)
We enjoyed the three port tasting with chocolate pairings. I had never had white port before and that was a new experience for me. The vintner took his time and spent at least 39 min with us explaining the grape varietals and then the winemaking and port aging process. We would recommend this port tasting tour especially if you’re unable to travel to Porto and only have a few days in Lisbon.
Great explanations of the port process, the port was fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
A good first insight into port. Taylor's is one of the top producers and much of their product is available for purchase. If you were heading to Porto then this will whet your appetite.
Enjoyed three port tastings paired with chocolate. Great explanation of the process of making port. Very informative and answered our questions.
Taylor's Port Lodge was first class all the way. The self-guided audio guide was excellent and led us from room to room and through the wine cellars with absolute clarity. After completing the tour, our ticket included a tasting of three different Taylor ports. The tasting garden was beautiful and the wines all excellent. This tour is well worth the cost.
This is a really good first day activity in Lisbon. It’s a good way to get familiar with port wine. The tasting is slightly impersonal, however for the price it’s a good deal.
Don’t miss this experience! Host is knowledgeable on port and gives a great history lesson of the origin and making of the wine.
Excellent information was provided, the team are clearly very knowledgeable about their product. Great memories
A great way to experience Port Tasting in Lisbon. You get 3 varieties to sample and in depth knowledge of the Port making process.
Informative staff member good tastings, we were happy overall with the experience. Very nice person spoke about the ports, whisk we liked very much
Excellent activity, we learned a lot about port and enjoyed the generous tastings. Would definitely recommend to anyone interested in viticulture, Portugal and drinking !
The presentation was ok but certainly could have gone into more about the grapes, region, growing and making of the port in general.
Wonderful experience learning about the wine. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. You may leave a little happier than when you came!
A fantastic tasting session well worth the price and in a wonderful setting would definitely recommend
Visited on a recent city break. Both of us enjoy a glass of port and the two gentlemen that hosted the tasting room were both knowledgable and professional. We tasted 5 ports at our own pace and learnt a lot. We had some of the food snacks suggested with our ports and they were tasty. Would recommend to other port lovers.
Great wine testing coupled with a fantastic story about Porto's wine and its historical background, alongside with what you should eat to get the best tasting combination possible. You get to taste 3 wines, a great dry white wine and 2 red wines. They tasted so good I ended up buying one :)
Very knowledgeable host! Wonderful experience for all! Very Highly recommended! Flavorful choice wines!
The ports are fine and the history of how they make the port is fine. Seems more of a place to hit if you are on one of the cruises. The pairing of the snack was limited. Thought it would be a pairing with each of the ports but only with the last one. They suggested different foods for each but only provided for the last one. Still a deal as they charge 7 euros a glass normally.
Experience good, got ripped off when I bought a bottle of good port. I attended with three other adults. I paid €190 for the experience, which was good. I was told that if I bought a bottle of port it would be discounted. I purchased a bottle and paid approximately €62 for the bottle. Can you imagine my extreme disappointment when I can buy the same bottle in the U.K. For €46. (Where duty is more plus shipping) I know you should check prices, but I am disillusioned by their disregard for customers
We had a great, knowledgeable host and the wine tasted great. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area!
Great Wine, Great Experience. Would recommend this tour the guide was very knowledgeable about the different port wine. And I found a favorite and couldn’t leave without a bottle.
Super experience to be able to try all the good ports. We had some sent home right afterwards. For us, it was wonderful and delicious.
The place is beautiful, the port is very good, and the staff is very kind, competent, and professional. Recommended!
We participated in a Porto tasting during our stay in Lisbon, but unfortunately, the experience did not live up to our expectations. I had booked for 6 people, for a total amount of €570, which is a large sum. For this price, we had 3 glasses of port each, 18 glasses in total, but no accompaniment was planned. I had to order something to snack on extra, for 49 € more. Upon arrival, I handed in the booking vouchers indicating that we had booked. The documents were taken, and then we waited several minutes without really knowing what would happen. A gentleman then came to sit us at a table, then again a long wait, without any particular explanation. After a while, a person arrived with a tray full of glasses already served, which they simply placed in front of us. We did have some explanations, but only in English/Portuguese. Being the only one of the group who understands and speaks Portuguese, I had to try to translate as well as possible to my friends, which made the experience less fluid and less pleasant. It is unfortunate that no explanation in French is offered, especially for an activity for visitors. In the end, we were disappointed. The price seems far too high compared to the service offered, especially since the Ports tasted were not particularly old or exceptional. The experience lacked hospitality, warmth, accompaniment and content. It’s a shame, because we loved our weekend in Lisbon, which was beautiful at every level. This tasting unfortunately remains the only negative point of our stay, and I will not do it again.
Good tasting at Taylor's. Unique though is that it is not made in the Tasting Room as we imagine, but in the Store. If we were in the attack, we would have chosen a more complete tasting to get to know the Tasting Room.
We had booked the tour in French and it was important to us. That she was not our disappointment when we were told that the tour would be in English or Portuguese. After insisting a Monsieur made the visit in French, with an excellent French elsewhere! Thank you for the explanations and tasting. A very friendly moment!
