I booked this workshop for my boyfriend as a birthday present and it was amazing. Miguel is really clear in his explanation, takes the time and really adapt to what my boyfriend wanted to learn. Miguel is very open, kind and knows a lot about the city too. It was a great experience, for seeing the city and learn and know more about photography. I had a half-day morning tour with Miguel that I liked so much, I did another night tour later in the week. Miguel is a wonderful guide, instructor, and photographer. He showed me places I would not have found on my own and explained the history, culture, and people of the location. I found him very knowledgeable about Lisbon, photography, and several other topics we discussed as we walked through Lisbon. He is very knowledgeable about camera settings, lighting, composition, and the story the photograph should tell. Honestly, this tour exceeded all expectations. It was engaging, surprising, pacy and yet still and even a bit reverent. Miguel clearly loves his city and his insights and depth of local history layered on a pretty intense photography class. We actually learned techniques and ways to observe and to distill singular elements from a scene, leaving with fantastic photos. I had a tantalizingly short layover in Lisbon recently and booked Miguel for a guided photo walk around the city. We booked a morning tour with Miguel. We've been to Lisbon three times, and have taken a tour with Miguel on each visit. We met at Rossio, and within 5 minutes we were snaking through tiny, picturesque walkways. Miguel just loves showing people his city, and how to photograph it. Regardless of your level of interest in photography, Miguel's energy gets everyone exciting about snapping photos. I do photography as a hobby, so it was fun to see Miguel get my friend using a smartphone, excited about snapping pics. It was a wonderful tour. I can't imagine visiting Lisbon without taking a tour with Miguel.

Our guide was great at personalizing our tour. My travel partner is no spring chicken and so our guide was constantly checking in to adjust the intensity of the walking and gave chances to take breaks. We also are extreme beginners when it comes to photography experience and the guide easily "dumbed down" the technical aspects of photography for us which we really appreciated. We saw great spots in Lisbon and took some great photos!

I met with Miguel who is very personable and an excellent photographer. Great to take shots off the beaten track I have taken some of the best images I have ever taken. I ask for monochrome and minimalist and thats exactly what I got plus lots of experimenting which was fun. Highly recommend and would definitely book again.

My friend and I had a wonderful photo tour with Miguel. He is prompt, charming, and incredibly knowledgeable about every beautiful vista and charming courtyard and interesting angle of the city. We never would have found so many beautiful sites without him, and he always had really interesting suggestions for great angles or approaches to different shots. We enjoyed our tour immensely - I cannot recommend this experience more highly.

This was a great day wandering the streets of Lisbon. Thoroughly enjoyed a walking photographic tour with Miguel from Lisbon Photo. Booked the morning tour as a trip from P&O cruise ship Iona while docked alongside in Lisbon. It was good to be taken around some of the back streets of the city to see different and unusual sights that perhaps you would not have seen on your own. We booked this trip as part of a Mediterranean trip with Cunard. Miguel was super welcoming and completely understood and catered for the needs of all the different folk in our group. His English is excellent, as is his knowledge of Lisbon. I have been taking photos for more than 50 years and found his approach and ability to take you to some incredible spots superb. I was one of six passengers off P&O Acadia to go on Miguel's 4-hour walking tour of Lisbon Photography. 2 SLRs, and 4 mobiles. Not only did Miguel have a friendly presence but his history knowledge of Portugal was excellent. We booked a private photo tour of Sintra with Miguel of Lisbon Photo. What a great day it was. We went on a morning walk through old town Sintra, then up to Peña Palace, then a lovely lunch break at a local Portuguese restaurant, and finally a trip up to Monserrate. Miguel knew how to beat the crowds to get great shots. He also worked around a very rainy day and showed us how to use the puddles and wet ground to our advantage. Our group consisted of two novice photographers and two experienced ones and he managed to make it an enjoyable day for everyone. We even got some amazing shots with our cell phones. Everyone learned some new techniques. If we come back to Portugal, we will definitely take another tour with Lisbon Photo.

I took this photography tour with my mom and aunts while visiting Portugal, and we all had such an amazing time! Lisbon is such a beautiful city, and seeing it through Miguel's creative eye was so interesting. It was also a great photography refresher for most of us. It was a highlight of our trip. We took so many great photos!

We were met off the cruise ship and enjoyed a four hour walk through Lisbon old town with Miguel. Got to see some hidden corners of Alfama at the same time being given welcome advice on taking photographs. Could be a tough walk uphill for some clients in hot weather but the old town has plenty of areas of shade (and also a lot of cobbled steps). Learnt a lot about historical Lisbon from Miguel and would thoroughly recommend.

I have booked the morning private tour and Miguel has showed me the Alfama area with beautiful views of the city with interesting explanations too. We have made nice pics of the views but also of the narrow streets of this typical area. Less touristic and less crowded streets to avoid lots of people visiting the city in those days. He has also suggested a good typical restaurant for the night.
