Peter was a great host and we thoroughly enjoyed the wine, charcuterie and company of other guests. Highly recommend for a special night on the river in Lisbon!

Itinerary
Sail beneath Lisbon’s iconic 25 de Abril Bridge, a striking red suspension bridge spanning the Tagus River. Opened in 1966, it connects Lisbon to Almada and offers one of the city’s most photogenic viewpoints—especially at golden hour.
Spot Lisbon’s futuristic MAAT on the Tagus waterfront—an eye-catching museum known for its sweeping curves and riverside rooftop walkway. Its bold contemporary design makes it one of the most photographed modern landmarks in the city, especially as the light reflects off the water.
See the impressive Padrão dos Descobrimentos rising on the Belém waterfront, a landmark celebrating Portugal’s Age of Discoveries. Shaped like a ship’s prow, it features Prince Henry the Navigator and other iconic figures facing the Tagus—symbolizing the voyages that connected Portugal to the world.
Admire the Belém Tower, Lisbon’s postcard-perfect fortress standing at the edge of the Tagus. Built in the early 1500s, it once guarded the city’s river entrance and welcomed ships returning from long voyages. Today it’s a UNESCO-listed symbol of Portugal’s maritime heritage and one of the best photo stops on the waterfront.
Look across the river to see Cristo Rei, the towering statue of Christ overlooking Lisbon from Almada. Inspired by Rio de Janeiro’s Christ the Redeemer, it was inaugurated in 1959 as a symbol of peace and gratitude. From its platform, the views over the Tagus, the 25 de Abril Bridge, and the city skyline are unforgettable.
Cruise past Lisbon’s grand riverside square, Praça do Comércio—also known as Terreiro do Paço—one of the city’s most iconic landmarks facing the Tagus.

We had an amazing experience! Our tour guide did a fantastic job making the entire experience special. Watching the sunset while enjoying the tour with friends was absolutely beautiful and made for such a memorable evening. The charcuterie was also delicious and a perfect addition to the experience. Everything was well organized, and we truly enjoyed every moment. Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a fun, relaxing, and memorable experience!
Very fun, informative and enjoyable cruise with Pedro! Plenty of snack and beverage options provided. Comfortable boat. Pedro was very kind and shared a lot of interesting info as well as providing excellent views of the sunset.
Really nice boottour with nice wine and local snacks. Pedro tells nice stories/facts about Lisbon. I really recommend this trip! Even as a solo traveler☺️ I loved the view of the sunset 🌅
Absolutely lovely evening in the boat. Captain was a wonderful host. He offered informative bits of information about what we passed but not too much talking. The food and wine were flowing throughout keeping the passengers relaxed and comfortable And we enjoyed chatting with our fellow passengers. Highly recommend.
Lovely experience to see the sights from the river. Pedro was very friendly and accomodating but was also very professional and followed all the required boating rules in order to ensure all passengers were safe. The wine and cheese tastings were great and the boat was lovely and well maintained. Would definatley recommend !
Pedro was wonderful, kind, and knowledgeable. He answered all of our questions and provided a history of the area. Great snacks as well. We would definitely recommend this tour to others.
This was the perfect sunset cruise. The boat was small and intimate: 2 other couples and 1 group of 6, along with the two of us. The captain was friendly and engaged us all very well. We saw other larger boats and we are really glad we went with this option. Thank you and we highly recommend!
The boat trip was really fun, our guide was very knowledgeable. We got lots of wine! Definitely a nice way to start or finish your trip.
Awesome Captain, Pedro! Very nice and clean boat. 10 in our group with an additional 2 couples. Great snacks & plenty for the entire party. Open bar for beer, wine, soda and water. We would definitely use Pedro again. He is very knowledgeable of the area’s history as well as keeping his guest safe. Thank you Pedro!!
Amazing and beautiful experience. The captain/host was kind, knowledgeable, accommodating and down to earth. It was great to learn a bit of the history of the monuments we were passing. I’d highly recommend to anyone traveling to Lisbon - solo, couple or in a group. I was solo and had a great time.
We had a wonderful boat trip in Lisbon! The tour was very informative, and the boat itself was beautiful and comfortable. The drinks and snacks were lovely, and the whole experience had a luxurious feel. Everything was well organized, making it a truly enjoyable and memorable experience. Highly recommended!
The tour guide (Peter i believe) was great. He showed us all the main sights and let us sit to watch sun set. We got snacks and our wine glasses were never empty. Thank you!
Was so much fun! George was attentive and knowledgeable. Such a unique experience! A very unique view of Lisbon.
The sunset tour was an excellent way to experience Lisbon as it gave you a different view of the city. Our guide Pedro was very friendly and provided a great experience. In future if the meeting point could be more exact as there were a number of tours and there was some confusion to which Gate we were to meet our guide.
We had an awesome time with Pedro on his boat. He was very informative as we cruised around the river. The meat and cheese was awesome and he was not stingy with the wine. Will definitely do it again next time we're on Lisbon!
Sunset cruise was both informative and enjoyable. Great wine, meats, cheese and tour guide was wonderful. Highly recommend!
Our group loved this excursion. Our guide was very nice and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend
I did not find our tour guide friendly. It was difficult to hear him. Also, I think the tour should have another person; then there would be a guide and someone to drive the boat. Also, was there a WC on the boat? We were not told if there was one.
Drivers are very knowledgeable and we learned a lot. We had a lot of fun with pedro. We saw a lot and we learned a lot of history
This is a must do in Lisbon! It was only 8 of us and was a beautiful night for ride along the river. The local Wine, cheese and meats were delicious and we were always topped off! Pedro was a great host and let us enjoy the ride while still providing great facts. I would HIGHLY recommend!
I liked the fact that there were only 8 on the boat. It made conversation easy. The captain/guide was wonderful and so knowledgeable.
This was one of the best tours. Our guide was very knowledgeable and made sure our glasses were never empty! The views were beautiful! Wish I could of done this every night I was in Lisbon
Pedro was great!! We were able to have about 4-5 glasses of wine AND we learned a ton about the city of Lisbon as well! 100% worth the price. There was 14 people including us and then the captain
Pedro was cheerful and informative. His boat was very clean and accommodating. We throughly enjoyed the cruise. Our glasses were never empty : )
This was absolutely one of my favorite parts of my trip. 14 people, beautiful boat, beautiful history. Your drink is never empty
We met our Captain, Luis, and other travelers down in the Marina of Lisbon. We had 13 travelers and our captain that were on the trip. Before we left Luis gave us the guidelines and then poured everyone their drink of choice. Choices were beer, water, soda, and rose and white wines. We headed up the Tagus River first towards the Rua Augusta Arch and plaza. We passed under the Golden Gate Bridge copy and along the river. Once we hit the Rua Augusta Arch we turned around and sailed towards the Tower of Belem and the Sunset. Throughout our journey Captain Luis made sure we had our glasses or drinks filled. Besides the drinks there were also cheese, fruit, meats, and bread provided. Unfortunately, on this night, the Sunset had to compete with some clouds. So, we were able to see some of the sunset, but not the whole drop. On our way back, Captain Luis pointed out the various landmarks on the river's edge which we all found very informative. And we arrived back at the dock at the 2 hour mark, right on time. Everyone on the boat had a great time, and we appreciated the journey with Captain Luis. Highly recommend.
A fantastic sunset cruise, good wine, good food, and good company, just 13 guests on our boat plus our excellent guide, Pedro, who could not have done more to make our evening most enjoyable.
We liked this trip very much. The Views were spectacular. The Snacks delicious. The Wind was bothering me, and I caught a cold, but The Tour was nevertheless wonderful. Thanks also to The Skipper, unfortunately I forgot His Name. Sorry for that.
The cruise itself was great. Pedro was a great host and certainly knew everything about the history ands facts about Lisbon. The sunset at the end was stunning! The meeting instructions could be improved though. There are 3 gates to the Doca de Santo Amaro, but the meeting point detail doesn’t mention which one to go to, so of course we were at the wrong one!
You will have a fantastic time with Perdo and his boat. We have a fabulous evening on the river watching the sunset and looking at all the view points along the river. The wine flowed and I would 100% recommend 👍☀️😎
We had an amazing experience on this sunset boat tour! Our skipper and captain, Pedro, was phenomenal. He was very knowledgeable and thorough, pointing out historical sites along the way and explaining the history behind them. The service was excellent—he kept our drinks topped off and had a great selection of cheese, meats, and charcuterie ready for us. Blankets were also available, which was a thoughtful touch as it got cooler. The views were beautiful, and Pedro timed the tour perfectly so we could enjoy the sunset from the boat. Highly recommend this tour, especially if you’re looking for a relaxing and memorable experience!
The boat ride really took off after the sunset. Seeing the Belém Tower, Discoverers Monument and the bridge at dusk and up close was special.
Pedro was such a great guide and host. He kept the wine and beer flowing, shared some great historical details for the sights along the water, and helped to get the absolute best sunset photos!
Open boat no shade. Pedro capt. Seems to have issue with any other language spoken except for Portuguese. Seems as though he was continually lecturing us. Would not recommend.
I hate to be negative, but honestly, we were a bit disappointed in this tour. Here is what we liked and disliked..... Pros: Seeing Lisboa from the river was nice and offered a different perspective from walking around. The boat was comfortable and the food and wine were OK. Cons: Like some of the other reviewers mentioned, the tour guide made a couple unfriendly comments about the USA relating to the famous bridge we passed under during the tour. Also, it did not seem like the tour was organized with safety being a top priority. The captain/tour guide of the boat had to leave the controls to serve food and wine leaving the vessel without anyone in full control. I am not a boater, so my critical comments here may not be fair, but there were a couple of times where captains on other boats made aggressive hand gestures towards us and yelled that we were not following proper boating rules (similar to driving a car on the wrong side of the road, perhaps?). Also, the tour guide did not get us to the best viewpoint on time to watch the sunset, and this was advertised as a major selling point of the tour. Overall, taking a river tour in Lisboa is a wonderful idea, but I would recommend finding a different tour operator.
Wonderful experience from start to finish. The captain was informative and entertaining, and there was no shortage of food and drink!
Such a nice boat. Easy ride. Knowledgeable driver. Easy to find based on directions. Tons of wine provided.
Wonderful Experience.. Pedro knew his history and was very attentive to his audience.. great evening !!!
Great way to meet new people! Also really enjoyed the wine and history of town from the river. Sunset was beautiful!
Pablo was an excellent host & tour guide with his slightly humorous delivery & interesting facts given. Beer, water & wine was plenty and topped up constantly throughout the whole 2hr duration. The tasty snacks consisted of good quality meats, cheese & bread in an ample quantity. The boat was easily identifiable from the pictures in the tour advertisement & embarkment was smooth with the helping hand of Pablo ensuring everybody boarded safely & without issue. We sat at the back of the boat near the steering wheel which was raised slightly higher than the front of the boat, the seating was comfortable and blankets were provided for some who got cold towards the end of the tour. As we went up and down the river numerous times this insured that everybody got the opportunity to see both sides of the river both pre-sunset and post sunset so everybody could take lots of pictures with and without illumination. For those who get desperate, there is WC on board however this is rather small. I genuinely do not believe you could get a better value cruise of this standard, there were 14 of us on board and ample room for everybody with spare seats. The small number made for a completely relaxing atmosphere where you could mix with others or simply sit back & chill enjoying the scenery. Thank you for such an enjoyable experience.
Dear Viator, Luxury Sunset Cruise Lisbon, and Tagus Experience Management, I am writing to formally bring to your attention an extremely disappointing experience my husband and I had during our sunset cruise in Lisbon, specifically regarding the conduct, attitude, and inappropriate commentary of our tour guide, José Pedro Cruz of Tagus Experience. My name is Marisa Blake, and my husband, Joey Blake, planned this vacation to Portugal to celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary. This trip holds a great deal of meaning for us. We have wanted to visit Portugal for a very long time, and for me personally, there is an additional emotional connection: although I am Brazilian, my grandparents are from Portugal. My husband is American, and we live in Las Vegas, Nevada. We were especially looking forward to the sunset cruise. The idea of spending a romantic evening together on the waters of beautiful Lisbon while celebrating our anniversary sounded absolutely wonderful. Unfortunately, the experience did not turn out the way we had hoped—not because of the vessel, the beautiful scenery, or the route of the cruise, but because of the lack of respect, rudeness, and inappropriate remarks made by our guide, José Pedro Cruz. During the two-hour tour, I was spoken to rudely on several occasions. At one point, I noticed José was trying to navigate the boat while also serving drinks and food to guests on the opposite side of the helm. I simply offered to help. Instead of politely declining, the tone and manner in which he addressed me were unnecessarily rude and dismissive. I chose to let it go. I did not want something small to interfere with a special evening with my husband. Unfortunately, that was only the beginning. As José navigated the river and pointed out landmarks along Lisbon’s riverbank, his commentary began to include unnecessary and increasingly offensive comparisons between Portugal and other countries—particularly the United States and Brazil, the two countries my husband and I come from. While discussing Lisbon’s bridge, he repeatedly compared it to the bridge in San Francisco, making comments suggesting that Portugal was smarter in its design and that the United States was not. He also made remarks about the bridge’s color and suggested that the United States does not allow others to use the same color, following it with a broad comment to the effect that this is what the USA does—trying to bully everyone else in the world. Whatever someone’s personal political or cultural opinions may be, a romantic sightseeing cruise for international tourists is neither the appropriate time nor place to make disparaging generalizations about their countries. Unfortunately, he did not stop with the United States. When discussing Lisbon’s Cristo Rei, he began making similarly disrespectful comments about Brazil and Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro. He stated that Portugal’s monument was better and had meaning, while suggesting that Brazil’s Christ the Redeemer had no real meaning and was essentially built because the French said Brazil could do it—describing it as being about “showing off.” At that point, it became deeply offensive and uncomfortable. My husband is American. I am Brazilian. My family has Portuguese roots. We came to Portugal with excitement, affection, and respect for the country and its culture. We certainly did not expect to spend part of our anniversary celebration listening to our guide belittle and insult the countries we come from. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being proud of Portugal. Portugal is a beautiful country with extraordinary history, culture, architecture, and people. But pride in your own country does not require diminishing someone else’s. A person working in tourism—especially someone representing a company that welcomes visitors from all over the world—should understand that basic principle. Tour guides are often one of the most personal representations visitors encounter of a destination. Their responsibility is not only to provide information, but also to make guests feel welcomed and respected regardless of nationality, culture, or background. José told us that Tagus Experience is a young company. If that is the case, I sincerely hope management takes this complaint seriously. Speaking disrespectfully to guests and making disparaging comments about their countries is simply not an acceptable business model for a company operating in international tourism. My husband and I will continue enjoying Portugal, and I am certain we will leave with many beautiful memories from this anniversary trip. We will remember the beauty of Lisbon, its history, its people, its food, and the experiences we have shared together. Unfortunately, we will also remember this sunset cruise and how uncomfortable and disrespected we were made to feel during what was supposed to be one of the romantic highlights of our anniversary trip. I am bringing this matter to the attention of Viator, Luxury Sunset Cruise Lisbon, and Tagus Experience because I believe all parties involved should be aware of how guests are being addressed and treated. I hope this complaint results in a serious conversation with the guide regarding professionalism, cultural sensitivity, respect for international visitors, and the type of commentary that is appropriate while representing a tourism company. We did not expect someone to agree with everything about our countries. We simply expected the same courtesy and respect that we came to Portugal prepared to give. Sincerely, Marisa Blake & Joey Blake Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
Pedro was very welcoming and friendly. Had a lot of history of Lisbon and Portugal. The drinks and snacks were plentiful and the sunset was amazing. A great way to enjoy an evening in Lisbon. Highly recommend Pedro!!
Pedro was super friendly! I enjoyed his company on the boat, he seemed very knowledgeable, and like he enjoys his job very much. You can tell he is passionate about sharing his culture, and the food and drinks provided were better than I expected. I wouldn’t say come hungry, but the meat (it is pork..), cheese, grapes, and wine was all tasty. I typically do not eat pork, but made an exception for this trip and I’m glad I did. The views were worth the pay, the group was small as advertised, and overall a nice experience on my first evening in Lisbon. If you’re wondering if you should, you should! :)
The cruise itself was very nice and informative. The charcuterie was also good and our wine glasses were never empty. However, the description showed there was a WC onboard. If there was one, we not did see it. Once we got to the dock, it was difficult to know where to go for the boat and our tour guide was very annoyed that 2 guests were late because of that. It was also difficult to get on the boat if you had mobility issues.
Pedro was phenomenal and did a great job making sure we caught sunset. Cheese/Charcutrie and drinks was a great combination!
This was simply superb! Our captain Pedro was an absolutely brilliant tour guide - extremely knowledgeable and made the tour so much fun for my wife and our daughter. Tapas and wine made it such a great experience and the sunset was incredible. Could not rate this more highly for value for money and as a really great way to see the highlights of Lisbon from the water.
The cruise with Pedro was beautiful! He was very knowledgeable about the area and history! The wine and the snacks were plentiful! My only suggestion is if you sit short like I do .. sit in the back of the boat. I was having trouble seeing without standing but the company on my cruise was so enjoyable and the weather perfect!
A great experience, definitely worth going. The only negative thing I would say would be it was difficult to locate the venue..
Great Sunset tour. Pedro was so informative about Portugal. I would highly recommend this tour! Beautiful sunset and plenty of liquid cheer!
