Great way to see Lisbon and keep teenager engaged! Guide (translated as George) was great at explaining history of Portugal, relevance of monuments etc…and gave us some useful tips for what else to see and do while we’re in Lisbon. Not at all strenuous-all downhill or flat, frequent breaks and a tasty stop for pastel de nata and ginja (cherry liquor). Highly recommended. Thanks George.
This was a great trip. Our guide, Roger is a student intern and he gave us so much history about every item we stopped along the way to see. Don’t let the fact that it is not an E- bike concern you as the first part of the trip is really all downhill. We didn’t even have to pedal. The second part of the trip was all flat. I was impressed by how many stops we made along the way. I would highly recommend this trip thank you Roger for a wonderful day. We feel like we saw the best parts of Lisbon during our short stay.
Great tour overall! Just make sure you’re comfortable navigating through heavy foot traffic during the busier days of the week. There was a bit more stop-and-go while discussing landmarks than we expected. We personally would have preferred a little more riding and uninterrupted time to enjoy the scenery.
Very informative easy bike ride seeing a lot of Lisbon guide very knowledgeable about the city and keen to share this with us
We thoroughly enjoyed the tour with Jorge. He was very informative and we felt that we learnt a lot about Portuguese history and Lisbon
A nice, easy tour of Lisbon. Good for orientation and seeing some of the highlights of the area. Our guide, George, was thoughtful, helpful, knowledgeable, and fun to boot!
We spent a lovely morning with Jorge. We were fortunate to have him exclusively to our group. His knowledge of the city is unmatched and his love for biking is evident. This tour was the highlight of our trip. It was a great way to discover the city while being active and covering a lot of ground. I highly recommend this tour.
Super tour with Jorge. He was a great guide. Perfect mix of history and scenery.
Perfect duration of time. Did not feel rushed at all. We covered so much ground and learned so much about Lisbon. Biking was not strenuous and bikes were terrific quality. Jorge was a great guide and felt like a friend that we hated to say good bye to. He was very passionate about Portugal and we could not have asked for a better time!
A great way to get your bearings and your history in Lisbon. An easy going, informative and enjoyable introduction to this charming city. Thanks to Mateo for all of his information and humour and attention to safety. Highly recommended.
Amazing trip, great guide Josh, excellent history and fun tour of the city Highly recommend this company for a tour around the city sites.
Despite the weather turning south, Gina was an excellent guide who provided a well paced and extremely informative tour and an overall enjoyable experience
This was an excellent way to see around Lisbon on our first day there. We visited many popular spots and our guide, George gave us so much interesting information on everything. The bikes were very comfortable for riding on cobblestone and there were no uphills. A nice easy ride and it really gave us a good overview of the different areas. We made a nice stop for pastry and drinks and at the end George gave us a sample of the famous cherry liquor. I highly recommend this tour.
Really wonderful way to see Lisbon and get the lay of the land. We stopped many times along the way for interesting information and history on the city. Thoroughly enjoyed!
Easy ride - downhill or on the flat. Although this tour was more expensive than others on offer we had a small group of four which made all the difference. We had a great guide, George who was an excellent narrator and history lover. He gave us lots of useful tips for visiting Lisbon and Sintra
Absolutely brilliant tour led by the incredible Katie! We're a family of 4 (2 boys aged 12 & 10) and we loved every minute of this. Katie was deeply knowledgeable about the history of Lisbon and shared it in an energetic and fun way too. can't recommend this tour highly enough (not least down to the complimentary cherry liquer and pastries. Liquer not for kids, of course :) ) )
We were a family of four on an English speaking bike tour of Lisbon. Our tour operator George made the tour extra special. He just brought Lisbon alive and was patient and thoughtful the whole way along the tour -couldn't recommend this tour highly enough especially George.
Really a great option for families!! We bike with our girls a lot at home, but no biking tour company would/could accommodate our family because we had our 4 and 7 year old with us and Lisbon is "too hilly" and "too tough to do with kids", but this tour would take kids because the entire tour was planned downhill or flat so it was easy to accommodate families of all biking ages and skill. The stops were perfectly planned and so was the explanation of the history. The only feedback i have... GET BELLS ON ALL THE BIKES, NOT JUST THE GUIDES!!! that was really annoying not to have a way to let pedestrians know we were coming. The reason I was given was that the guide cleared the way, but there was multiple time were the group got separated enough that you needed your own. Come on, they are not that expensive and its a liability for you. otherwise a great day and our guide was knowledgeable and kind!! Would recommend to a friend!!
First class bike tour of Lisbon. So much covered seeing all the main sites. Tour guide was fun and knowledgeable plus we stopped for a coffee / beer and got a free pastel de nata !! Load of recommendations made for sites and food which we went back to Highly recommend
Great bike tour with George. He is an incrdible guide for Lisbon. Very easy riding tour with tons of information on the city. It was a super way to spend our first day in Lisbon. Now we have SO many ideas for things to do. George provided us with map links of recommended places all over the city. I can't recommend this highly enough. Do it early in your trip and you will be ready to explore!
Our tour guide Philippe was so knowledgeable and really fun and friendly.! A lovely bike tour seeing some of the iconic landmarks of Lisbon and Belem. It was very easy cycling as all down hill from the start to the river and then nice and flat to Belem. A good way to cover ground and see some of this wonderful city in half a day. When the tour finishes in Belem you can certainly spend some time there and grab a Pastel de Belem from the original shop. Be aware that you need to make your own way back to Lisbon either on the No15 tram or a taxi both super easy.
George is a fantastic and fun tour guide! We greatly enjoyed his narration and storytelling. We recommend that anyone booking this tour ask to be in George's group for the ride.
Jorge was great. He was patient with us having our two kids so different attention spans and abilities. Super nice and knowledgeable.
Trip was excellent, George our guide was very knowledgeable and we had great fun. We felt we got to see so much of the city and its outskirts and gave us ideas of places to revisit/visit over the following few days.
We were a little concerned about riding bikes at our age and through a busy city like Lisbon. But it was SO fun! The bikes were great and easy to maneuver and there are so many bike lanes that it wasn’t hard to navigate the city at all. Our guide Jenny was AWESOME! We got to see so much of the city this way. This tours ends in Belém so you can do more exploring on your own at the end. We highly recommend this bike tour!
Geogre our guide was knowledgable about all stops. There was only 6 of us which was nice, and the complimentary pastel de nata and shot of Ginja was a welcome surprise. If you’re ever in London Geogre, please do come visit us at the London Bicycle Tour Company.
Friendly and informative bike tour. Very knowledgeable local guide, George, made the tour interesting and enjoyable. Cycling was easy on comfortable bike. As were are out of season, the group was very small which made it personal. Unexpected gourmet treats were a bonus! Thank you. Would definitely recommend.
One of the best ways to visit a city. We started from the top of a hill and rolled downwards to downtown and then cycled along the river all the way to the Belem tower. Great tour, great explanations. Felipe, our guide, informed us on all historical and sightseeing sites of interest in a complete and pleasant way. I would definitely do it again.
This was an excellent trip. Very well organised with great equipment. Georges our guide was amazing, sharing his knowledge of the city and history. Starting at the top of Parque Eduado Vll, the route takes to mostly downhill through the centre of Lisbon to the main square and then along by the river to Belém. Highly recommend!
Tour was great. Our guide was local, knowledgeable and very nice to spend 1/2 a day with. We saw quite a few different areas rather than doing a more compact walking tour. Weather was awesome this time of year, and overall it was a great experience
Had a great tour from the top of the city down to Belem, gentle downhill all the way stopped for complementary shot of Ginjinha Portuguese cherry liqueur and a Pastéis de Nata in the main square. George our guide gave us a great commentary on the history, sites and points of interest as we glided down the hill. Bikes were all in great condition and I would not hesitate to recommend this tour as a great and intimate introduction to the city. Many thanks Lisbon Bike Tours.
Had a great time with Antonia! The guides are knowledgeable about history and culture, and had excellent recommendations for restaurants and sites. We do bike tours often while traveling and this one was excellent. The biking was mostly downhill and flat by the river. We are regular bikers in a city and found it to be very easy.
Guide was fantastic. Bikes were in great condition. No hills to ride up. Highly recommend this experience suitable for adults and kids
Loved the concept of leaving from Lisbon, biking down through the city to the waterfront and biking along the waterfront to Belem. However our guide was relatively new and needed to speak more directly to us so we could all hear. Also I think more info on things to do in Belem and ways to get back to Lisbon proper need to be provided.
George was an excellent tour guide, my bike worked well, and we all had a fun time on the tour. Also, the included pastry stop was welcome and delicious.
John provided an informative and memorable trip. He shared all kinds of special places and history. Thank you
We had a fantastic day!!! George, our guide was an amazing host. We really felt like we got a good glimpse of the city and its coloured history. We highly recommend! The bikes were new and perfect, very comfortable and rode well.
Loved the expanse of the tour, and going places a bus could not go. Definitely hit all the Lisbon highlights, so we could tell where we wanted to spend more time.
We took this tour our first day and it was a great way to beat jet lag and get to know the layout of the city. Our guide, Jorge, was personable and we learned a lot about Portugal’s history. Loved the stops for stories, pictures and especially the pastry!
We really enjoyed our bike tour. It gave us a great overview of the city and we learned about the sights and history at each stop. The tagalong bike attachment that was provided for my 6 year old was great, as she would have had a difficult time managing the streets and cobblestone streets on her own. We were lucky enough to be a part of a small group (there were only 6 of us!) whereas some of the other groups looked to be a bit larger.
The tour was informative and fun. The tour was on Sunday so the traffic was low which made it easy. The stop at Time out market was a bit long 40 minutes. 15 would have been better. The guide was great.
A thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining tour at a sedate pace (which was good for a hot day). Our guide Jorge was so knowledgable and thoughtful as he guided us safely through the busy streets of Lisbon. Plus a bonus stop for delicious pastel de nata at the markets! It's a good tip to take the tour on a Sunday morning when there seemed to be less traffic around. We came away feeling like we had learned so much about the city, plus had a very enjoyable morning.
Jorge was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot. He spent a lot of time explaining the history at the stops. Great views along the way and beats walking all that way!
Great bike tour! All down hill so very easy to manage. Our tour guide was very friendly. Unfortunately, it was raining very bad halfway through but our tour guide was considerate and still carried on!
We had a great tour!! This was a wonderful way to see a lot of Lisbon in a short time in an easy and active way. Our guide gave us great insight into the city and showed us a lot that we wouldn’t have seen without the tour. Loved the stop at the cafe for pastel de natas halfway through.
Great way to see the city. We rode through fantastic scenery. We took many great pictures The way it's setup anyone can ride it was mostly flat or downhill in a very hilly city!
Comfortable bikes and our tour guide Joe was wonderful. The places we rode were interesting and beautiful. Thank you for the pastries.
Best way to see Lisbon! Our tour guide Jorge was fantastic - so knowledgeable, kind and hospitable. The tour was well planned to be down hill and flat yet still seeing and talking about all the Lisbon highlights. Jorge pointed out lesser known activities that were great recommendations. Highly recommend!
Joe was a great tour guide. It’s amazing how much knowledge he has about Lisbon having been in the city only about six months!! This was a fabulous overview of the city and its long history. Joe is a really pleasant young man. We all enjoyed the tour very much!
