Rui Fernandez was wonderful! He was sweet and personable, and SO interesting and educated about history, government, architecture, and all things related to Lisbon and Portugal. He answered everyone's questions thoroughly. The scale does not go high enough to give him the perfect review. Thank you for a memorable experience.

Our guide Rui was fantastic. Very knowledgeable, talked in conversational style, guiding us through Lisbon history and shared lots of fun facts. The tour included a 15 minute break and a custard tart snack. Highly recommend this tour.
While Rui was very knowledgeable, at times was very hard to hear him and this was a small group tour. He took a lot of care getting us around the city, ensuring we crossed all roads safely and pointed out any issues with footpaths. Good orientation tour.
Excellent tour of the Chiado and Baixa area. The historical lens adopted by Rui was a socio-economic one. He saw various historic architectural structures and Rui connected them to the geography and culture of the Lisboetas. We left the tour with a greater understanding of the impact of the age of exploration in Lisbon’s finances and the development of the various buildings post earthquake.
Unfortunately not a tour I would recommend. Guide was friendly and professional but quite dull, no humor whatsoever, also not native to Portugal. It was boring, and I could have easily learned the few bullet points he made about each stop with a superficial google search. I’d prefer a tour with a guide who was a native to the area, had a lively and conversational personality, and extensively knowledgeable of the stops.
Rui was our wonderful private tour guide! Highly recommend his tour. We are a family of 4 from Boston with 2 boys 18 and 20 years old. Rui was full of knowledge, went at a pace that worked for us even in 95 degree heat. He answered our questions thoroughly and made us feel that every question we asked was important. Highly recommend!
Fantastic walking tour with a very knowledgable guide. We saw so many things we would not have found on our own.
Had a great time with Rui exploring the different neighborhoods of Lisbon on foot. He’s very knowledgeable about the history of each place and how the city has changed over the years. Would recommend!
Riu was an excellent tour guide. The pace was just right! He provided many interesting and historical information about the city of Lisbon and the many neighborhoods. I enjoyed the stops along the way and the opportunity to learn about Portugal’s history. I highly recommend him as a tour guide!
I learned so much! The history plays such a large role in appreciating the statues and buildings in Lisbon. They are cool on their own, but the context made everything much cooler. Rui was even keeled and highly knowledgeable. He cares about your experience and has great recommendations on restaurants etc. He gave consistent opportunities for questions and bathroom stops. Definitely wear good shoes. The tour had very little uphill walking. About 3 hours long, even with the elevator being closed.
Our tour guide Rui Fernandez was very knowledgeable and pleasant. We learned a lot about Portugal and we love it.
We did this tour with Andre just before Christmas 2025. Andre is very knowledgeable and he gave us detailed information about all the points of interest that we visited in old town of Lisbon. We never felt that we were rushed at any time. We even had time to stop for a coffee and pastel de nata on our tour. He answered all our questions patiently. Highly recommended.
Andriy was fantastic — incredibly knowledgeable and excellent at pacing the tour. He knew exactly when to dive into interesting details and when to keep things moving, which made the whole experience smooth and engaging. I learned a lot and never felt rushed or bored. Highly recommend!
The Lisbon walking tour is a great way to start your journey through Lisbon. My guide was very knowledgeable and friendly.
Our guide Andre was very professional and patient! He took us on a three hour tour with all downhills. Beautiful views with a lot of stories!
Rui was a great guide. He communicated with us when we booked and also before our tour. It was a rainy day in Lisbon so we were the only ones on the tour. Our guide sought to provide us with the real history of Lisbon. We walk up and down Lisbon enjoying the churches, historical buildings and sites. We visited the oldest bookstore in the world and sampled wonderful custards. Time well spent.
Guide was very knowledgeable and responsive to questions. Tour route covered interesting sights and historical points and the guide provided historical information.
Our tour guide, Andre, was the best . He was so knowledgeable and excited to show us around . He loves to answer questions and he made sure we were always in the shade and that we could hear him clearly . We covered a lot of sites in 3 hrs . All downhill . We had a lovely break in between . Highly recommend this walking tour with Andre .
Wonderful tour! Andre was an amazing guide. He was knowledgeable and made the tour a great experience!!
My family and I had a wonderful tour of Lisbon with Andriy. The tour path was laid out such that the highest point was at the beginning; the rest was downhill and we ended at the waterfront. Andriy was very informative and we came away with a good sense of the history of Lisbon as the Bairra Alto, Chiado, and Baixa neighborhoods.
We had a wonderful time. The tour was informative, enjoyable and relaxing. The guide was friendly, caring and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about the history of Lisbon. I would highly recommend the tour
Wonderful guide! Great insights into every neighborhood we visited. I feel like I know Lisbon so much better now.
Alex was our guide and could not do enough for us to learn as much as we could about the Pena Palace and other sights we saw that day! Alex was knowledgeable, had a great sense of humor, and did everything he could to keep us comfortable in transit.
Great intro to Lisbon history, architecture, art & culture. Rui was very knowledgable and made the tour informative and interesting.
We had a 3hr tour around the central parts of Lisbon with Andrij. It was very informative. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and attentive, encouraged us to ask questions all the time. I'd recommend to include some interesting, maybe humorous stories, as 3 hours of historical facts are a lot.
This small group walking tour was excellent. Our tour guide was professional and helpful. He recommended a camera shop (and came with us to help if needed), and a place for lunch. We walked through interesting streets and he provided insightful details about the community. Highly recommend.
The Guide was friendly, engaging and very informative, the tour last three hours so good value for money.
We had an excellent guide (Rui) and a very in-depth historical walking tour. Highly recommend. There is even a stop along the tour where you can indulge in a local pastry favorite. Great morning!
Our guide, Andriy, was excellent - well-informed on everything, interesting and considerate. His professionalism and communication skills are top-notch. We highly recommend starting your visit in Lisbon with him.
Rui was an excellent guide v knowledgeable and drew comparisons with history/places in England (where we are from) to give context. Highly enjoyable tour.
Rui was a fantastic guide! Very knowledgeable and friendly. I learned a lot! I liked being in a small group, as it seemed more personable and conversational.
We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. We take one each time we visit a city, and this was one of the best. Our guide, Rui, is exceptionally knowledgeable. The point of interest were notable and the length was perfect.

Great tour! Andriy was informative and gave us a fantastic overview of the history of Lisbon. We walked through neighborhoods, churches, historic sites and shopping areas. Thanks to Andriy’s tour, we’re ready to continue to explore the rest of Portugal with history in mind.
Had a fantastic walking tour with Rui, who was extremely knowledgeable, providing wealth of information and tailoring the tour to our interests and questions. Thanks a lot, Rui!
Andriy did a great job and is extremely knowledgeable of all the history of the area. We were slightly slowed by the pouring down rain but all in the group still learned so much of the history and really enjoyed the tour.
Andriy was fantastic. He was so knowledgeable and able to answer any questions we had. He was also very diligent in making sure we avoided crowds. Thanks for a great tour Andriy!
Andrit was so professional and knowledgeable. He did not rush us and continually asked us if we needled further info!l!
Andriy was incredibly knowledgeable, courteous and accommodating. The pace was perfect. He invited my questions and provided answers covering a large span of topics from art and architecture to history, topography, contemporary life and much more.
We had an informative and friendly guide who very much pitched it to what we wanted to know about. Seemed very unflappable and was very helpful.
Nice walk around old town. Knowledgeable guide. A bit stiff and focused a lot on buildings Not a lot of humour
Andriy our guide was very knowledgeable and gave us an excellent walking tour, of about 3 hours, of the main streets and buildings at the centre of Lisbon, with a stop for coffee and pastel de nata along the way. We visited the world's oldest bookstore. We discussed Lisbon's recent and not-so-recent history, its politics in the 20th century and its current economy. Very enjoyable and would recommend.
Great introduction to Lisbon! We arrived in Lisbon in the early afternoon and therefore scheduled the tour to learn some of the important areas and individuals to the city. Andriy was extremely knowledgeable and informative. We walked a good amount of the center of the city. We saw many highlights and he pointed out many interesting facts and places. I would recommend anyone who has a few hours available while being in Lisbon to take this tour.
This was our first walking tour we have ever taken when we travel and it was completely worth it. Our tour guide was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. He was on the meeting place on time and he took us around the city explaining a lot of its history and the places to explore further after our walking tour. He gave us great suggestions and answered all our questions. I truly recommend this walking tour.
Andriy was extremely knowledgeable of Lisbon’s history. I would not have known areas we toured existed without him as my guide. I highly recommend booking a tour with Andriy.
Loved the tour! My guide, Andy, was so knowledgeable and friendly... Really brought this beautiful city alive for me.
Interesting and knowledgeable guide. I learned a lot about Lisbon history and culture. Highly recommended.
